RPC-Miner (Linux binaries): https://github.com/gapcoin/GapMiner/releases/download/linux-binary/gapminer-linux.zip
md5: 1e32c9c0672b5af024b26600c0784b8c

Released gapminer linux binaries, windows will follow.

Thank you for the linux one! Cheesy

One question about the algo and the records. So we have to reach  35.4245 difficulty.
Does that means that if hashrate never gets bigger we wont find record prime gaps?Even if we mine for much more time?
What  hashrate should the network have  so that we can reach that difficulty? I want to realize how fast we can actually reach that. Will it take some months or a year or 10 years?

Of course i understand that better miners will come out and pools will help but i want to have a comparison.

btw it would help me a lot if you could compile a binary of gapminer and uploaded on github too Smiley

Hey j0nn9. I am using some computers mining with gapminer on another computer and it seems to work. So i got 'share found' which as far as i can understand it shoud be block found on the daemon of the other pc. But it seems that i didnt found anything.

So my question is, can gapminer indeed mine on another computer's daemon or i am doing something wrong and i am just wasting the miners power? They seem to get work and mining... Could it just be an orphaned?

Yes, it should be possible to mine with gapminer on another computer.
If gapcoind accepted the block, you should see something like this: "Found Share 20.798565  =>  accepted"
otherwise: "Found Share 20.798565  =>  stale!"

When your share (block) was accepted, it can still be orphan.

Unfortunately i deleted the logs but i will check it next time. Thanks!

hi@all,
my wallet showed up a found block, coins were added. now, a few minutes later, this block isn't in the statistic anymore and the amount of coins decreased?!? it had an amount of 16.xxx gap, now its gone. where are they now???
maybe somebody can explain that to me...

thanks for any answers and good mining Smiley

Probably you were unlucky and mined an orphaned block?
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - The largest, decentralized prime gap search on: October 22, 2014, 05:39:29 PM
What is the reward now? Is it profitable to use a vps or should one wait for the new reward?

It should be full block in about 120 blocks from now...

Is it possible to make gapminer mining on port 80? I tried starting daemon with port 80 but it says that it finds no headers no data.

Nice1! I am not a big linux user especially wallets. Your instructions were easy thanks. How do I check/see balance and also how do I send coins to my "home" wallet? thanks

I answered in the tread Smiley

How do check wallet balance? Not a big linux user for wallets. Also how to send coins out from wallet to "home" wallet?
Thanks for the work btw!!

Ughh yeah i forgot that!

To check mining stats and balance just type:

Code:
watch 'gapcoind listaccounts & gapcoind getmininginfo '

Then you have to close 'watch mode' with Ctrl+C

To transfer coins:

Code:
gapcoind sendtoaddress GNigYHdFeQfb1a2L9kebZkMK6AtDMXNmue 1
thats my address obviously so you have to change this. 1 is the number of coins.

Thanks!

I made a simple guide for Digital Ocean that should work fine. It should generally work with most Linux computers...

This is a new CPU coin with new algo that is searching from prime gaps. If difficulty  reaches 35.4245, every block will be a new world record!
ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=822498.0

A pool came out. Check here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=830806.msg9369486#msg9369486

1) Please use my referral https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=9d68ca19e204 and create a droplet 2CPU 2GB Ram Ubuntu 14.04 64x . You can create larger droplets if you want but it must be 1GB or more.  Use this code TWITTER914 to earn 10$ more when creating the account.
2) Connect with putty using using ip and password or just write those in the console. You can always download putty from here http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html  Putty is better cause you can simply copy paste.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you connect it will ask you to change your password. Then you start copy pasting:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
Code:
sudo apt-get install p7zip-full
Code:
wget github.com/gapcoin/gapcoin/releases/download/v0.9.2-launch/linux.7z
Code:
7z x linux.7z
Use this password to extract the file:
Code:
psd<C_p,[v,zq}^Q#7Zr0CjF2tN'E?
And continue copy pasting:
Code:
cd linux/64/static/
Code:
chmod +x gapcoind
Code:
sudo cp -f gapcoind /usr/local/bin/

Now copy paste all that below from cd to conf in one copy paste and press enter.

cd
mkdir -p .gapcoin
echo 'server=1
gen=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
addnode=212.227.143.155
addnode=104.131.69.82
addnode=95.215.44.9
addnode=155.254.36.179
addnode=199.127.226.192
rpcuser=gapcoinMiner
rpcpassword=PASSWORD' > .gapcoin/gapcoin.conf

All above from cd to conf in one copy paste and press enter

Finally copy paste this one:

Code:
gapcoind --daemon
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now you have started mining and you should see your balance getting bigger.  You can do this for more than 1 droplets.

If there are any questions ask below.

According to the news, Humans may only survive 68 days on Mars.

If you are given a chance would you try to live there?

Why there are 24 people who are brave enough that join to mission - an irreversible move to Mars. what would you do there?

you are just trying end your life. Traveling to mars will take a minimum of 7 months. Travel only will get you sick.

SO, WOULD YOU?

Radiation will kill you in hours

Nope if you live in a cave

This is in development for some months now if i am correct. Nice to see it is going to finally launch.

One question though. You say that you are going to give source and binaries 2 days before launch. So what stops someone to start the coin? Ok i read what i should have read Cheesy

P.S. You should probably start already thinking about pools since after a few days casual miners wont be able to mine anything.

Magnetism and electricity are not related to the second law of thermodynamics. But besides, the experiment will tell us whether a law is right or wrong. Science without experiment is not science.

lolwut?

And how did you come to the conclusion that there havent already been millions of experiments that all abide with the laws?
