5001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 15, 2020, 11:38:12 PM
My advice for gamblers in this thread is do not bet for the Tennessee Titans. Their kicker is still missing field goals and extra points similar to last year. They won the game, however as a bettor, it was not without stress hehehe.
5002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2019-2020 betting on: September 15, 2020, 11:06:21 PM
Game 7 _ Clippers -7.5 all the way.  (if I win this, I'll be profitable in this series).

Game 1. Heat ML against the Celtics.

Good luck guys!.

You're always more objective with your picks, I might deviate a bit from the -7.5 because I find it a bit to high, but I'm surely going to have my bets on Clippers.

Heat vs Celtics is a very tough one for me, both teams have been impressive in this playoffs, but I'll be riding with you in the Heat ML as well.

Good luck 😉

Heat is the correct bet considering that the Celtics might still be tired from their 7 game series versus the Raptors. However, the rest did not do good for the Heat also. Their shooting hands are off hehe.

In any case, we might begin to see the Celtics to tire on the 3rd or 4th quarter.
5003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC offered a 625K bounty for a tool to track LN and Monero on: September 15, 2020, 04:08:45 AM
An interesting offer from the SEC, I'm sure there will be bounty hunters who are interested in making a tool to track LN and Monero.
Although it is not easy to make a tool like that in my opinion, but it is possible to be able to make a tool like that. This is one of
the big breakthroughs that the SEC has made in my opinion, they are getting serious about dealing with the scammers that occur
in the crypto world. It would be good if the tool was successfully created in the end, because it will reduces the number of scammers
currently circulating.

According to your wise analysis, on what percentage of possibility will this bounty, paid for by the American tax payers, create a successful tool to trace transactions in Monero? Is it high?
5004  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-11] MicroStrategy Adopts Bitcoin as Primary Treasury Reserve Asset on: September 15, 2020, 03:36:39 AM
Shortly after the miners' dump, we might have some good news from Microstrategy hehe. I reckon that the insitutions applying for an ETF and hoping for approval should move quickly. There might not be plenty of pumps left for them hehehehe.

MicroStrategy had previously indicated that it saw bitcoin and other alternative investments as a means to avoid inflation, noting that "it makes sense to shift our treasury assets into some investments that can't be inflated away or are less likely to be inflated away."

A new filing from September 14 indicates that the company might be eyeing additional bitcoin purchases.

5005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: September 15, 2020, 02:30:57 AM
@zasad@. bZx was attacked 3 times according to an article from Cryptoslate cryptocoin news outlet. This forces you question the qualifications of the development teams behind those Defi projects. Did they get a coding degree from codecademy.com hehehe?
5006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 delays thread on: September 15, 2020, 02:02:07 AM
I am quite certain that there will be a delay. However, for all of you cryptocoin traders, November might be a good time to pump and dump Ethereum again hehehe. There are many articles setting the storyboard for a pump to $500.

Ethereum 2.0., the much-needed and much-delayed update to the Ethereum blockchain, is on track for a November 2020 launch, according to one of its developers.

In a blog post summing up recent updates on the long road to Ethereum 2.0, Raul Jordan, an Ethereum 2.0 developer with Ethereum infrastructure builder Prysmatic Lab, said that should various security checks and user experience polishes take place, “November is still looking good for a launch from our perspective.”

However, sometimes women give tougher fights more than men similar to this recent headliner. It might be because women are built for giving birth and have higher limits for pain received hehehe.
5008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC offered a 625K bounty for a tool to track LN and Monero on: September 14, 2020, 02:51:13 AM
I reckon the privacy aspect of bitcoin will be a cat and mouse game that always ends with the cat tracing the transactions.

For now, sure. But let's not completely underestimate what kind of innovation the developers can do to help Bitcoin's privacy sometime in the future.

Sometime in the future, yes. It will certainly be harder for bitcoin with the type of development preferring on the more moderate side, I reckon. Monero developers do hard forks every 6 months since the beginning.

The IRS should not scare the bitcoiners in the richlist. They might hide in Monero hehehe.

@Karartma1. In their statement they have said that the mixnet itself will be hosted by a network of volunteers. Might this be vulnerable to sybil attacks for collecting the data and traceablilty?
5010  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-15] US Prosecutors Seize Bitcoin Allegedly Tied to AlQaeda, ISIS, Hamas on: September 14, 2020, 12:15:12 AM
@bryant.coleman. It is almost similar to saying that bitcoin's usecase as a speculative investment has surpassed its usecase as a tool for political liberation and autonomy on 2013 hehe.

I'm not sure if this is a real wallet or if this article is an advertisement for RaidForums.

It is clickbait and spreading fear. However, what would presumably occur is the IRS might begin following the movements of some addresses in bitcoin's richlist and their transactions.

Can the government order an exchange to freeze the account if it received a transaction from one of the marked addresses in the richlist?
5012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC offered a 625K bounty for a tool to track LN and Monero on: September 13, 2020, 03:49:27 AM
What do you think of this? Will some ethical hackers stepping and developed a tool if possible?
Definitely, there will be developers that will be interested with that huge amount in the table. But if you are a real bitcoiner, you shouldn't help the government break LN.  Smiley.

Given enough money in exchange, I can almost guarantee that probably even the biggest bitcoin and privacy advocate could easily give in to the offer. The privacy aspect of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general will be a cat and mouse game.

I reckon the privacy aspect of bitcoin will be a cat and mouse game that always ends with the cat tracing the transactions.

In any case, who has solved Monero's privacy aspect?

5013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2019-2020 betting on: September 12, 2020, 05:15:12 AM
Miami Heat versus the Boston Celtics, what team do the experts here bet in a best of 7? I reckon that Miami Heat might be having a similar playoffs as the Toronto Raptors last year hehe.
5014  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish! on: September 12, 2020, 04:46:47 AM
It might take the S&P 500 to drop below 3000 before bitcoin can drop below $9000, I reckon. Tom Lee said so hehehe.

Compare their charts. They are very much at the highest degree of correlation this year.

Macro is favorable for #Bitcoin  but tough if equities selling off

5015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC offered a 625K bounty for a tool to track LN and Monero on: September 12, 2020, 04:17:14 AM
Tracing LN is not impossible but the real challenge is with Monero. That's why its usage is growing in darknet and monero is very different to track and trace. However, if I remebr correctly, Ciphertrace claimed to have developed a tool that can trace Monero.

Interestingly, this toll will be first used by US department of Homeland security as they are concerned on growing criminal usage of Monero. So I hope SEC will make use of such tools to effectively discourage and trace the crypto criminals.

Agreed, a beginner who uses Monero will be more anonymous than expert who uses bitcoin and coinjoin. The results of the bounty will only become free marketing for Monero hehehe.

I reckon the Ciphertrace claims were debunked by a Monero Research Lab developer already.
5016  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-09-08]Bitfinex Invests in Derivatives Exchange Built With Bitcoin’s LN on: September 12, 2020, 03:35:13 AM
@Karartma1. I was clearly only joking about the defi hehe. However, I am quite certain it will be a success. This community is all about the get rich quick in ponzi yield farming and the ICO pump and dump. What would the perfect platform be to dump scams and hold bitcoin hehe.
5017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 11, 2020, 05:28:18 AM
@eaLiTy. I speculate that he only needs money. Some mentions of him in social media has been saying that he was spending much of his time in Las Vegas and then it suddenly stopped.

In any case, the fight game has left him. He is presently only an out of date mixed martial artist.
5018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: September 11, 2020, 05:05:18 AM
I reckon your analysis is on the wrong way hehe. I predict that Trump will win the electoral college and make him the rightful winner, however, the popular vote will be for Biden. The Democrats will then not accept their loss and continue the riots and barricade their own communities.

Why you are assuming this? Last time, Hillary Clinton received almost 3 million votes more than Trump and still accepted defeat. Because Trump won thanks to the electoral college. Grass root democrats were unhappy, but as far as I know there was no rioting or vandalism. On the other hand, I am not sure whether Trump will accept the same, if he loses the election.

It was a very different situation back in 2016. The people were also not encouraged to riot and to support the call for defund the police hehehe.

What can Trump do if he is not rightfully the winner under the electoral college? He cannot legally stay in the white house. The guards will force him out because he is not the commander in chief anymore hehehe.

As Vishnu.Reang pointed out in one of the previous posts, this time the counting is going to be very complex. More than half of the votes will be from mailed out ballots. Unlike the previous elections, the winner this time won't be declared for many days after the elections. This can obviously result in allegations of fraud, similar to what happened during the 2008 United States Senate election in Minnesota.

That does not change on what might occur if Trump wins or Biden wins. Trump cannot be sitting in the white house if he is not the rightful winner, however, the Democrats will protest the results if they lose while Trump is sitting in the white house.

I reckon Trump can protest but he will not be the sitting president.

@jseverson. Thank you!

I am not very optimistic on the Lightning network, however, if developers create a Lightning service built for bitcoin's biggest usecase which speculative trading, it might be a success.

Faster and cheaper Defi yield farming on Lightning should be next on development hehehe.
5020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US file a lawsuit to recover funds from a hack by North Korea on: September 11, 2020, 12:41:31 AM
@Jating. To add on the argument why it is safer for hackers to use Monero , even everyone in general also, is because complete privacy of transactions maintains the coin's neutrality as a currency.

Also, this news. The IRS does not know what to do except offer a bug bounty to find weaknesses on Monero. However, this helps the project. They might not know this hehehe.

The US Internal Revenue Services (IRS) will pay out up to $625,000 for anyone who cracks the untraceable cryptocurrency Monero, and other privacy coins, according to an official proposal published last week.

“IRS-CI is seeking a solution with one or more contractors to provide innovative solutions for tracing and attribution of privacy coins, such as expert tools, data, source code, algorithms, and software development services,” said the proposal.
