521  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: September 28, 2020, 11:33:15 AM
That's right. Using cryptocurrency is one thing, and staying anonymous while using cryptocurrency is another. The ordinary criminals may jump in to use Bitcoin or Monero. But he may not be able to convert these cryptocurrencies to fiat or other physical assets. And he may not be able to keep his cryptocurrency transactions secure (i.e without any links that can be traced back).

Unless they use mixer which is a favorite thing to them. But yeah, I agree because most criminals prefer using fiat because banks can cover for them and they can use this dirty money to buy assets that will clean their money.

If by any means criminals start adopting crypto in mass (especially privacy coins), we could expect a full government crackdown on the entire industry. Which is why I think it's best for criminals to continue using Fiat for the sake of the crypto/Blockchain industry's growth worldwide. But we'll never know what will happen in the future. Thoughts? Huh

They would have done it with banks if the government really has the means to fully crackdown criminal. I doubt they will have the resource and means to do it especially that cryptocurrencies are spreading and being adopted in different countries. It's inevitable to really stop criminal cases with cryptocurrencies and it will still grow because criminal sees opportunity with it. Fiat has just been around for the longest time which is why they have the most records of crime and launders.
522  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Vlogs on how to earn in Bitcointalk on: September 28, 2020, 10:53:05 AM

Same thoughts as you, sir. Ang dami nga pong sumasali dito at umaasang kikita talaga sila in just posting. I mean, yes meron. Pero habang mas tumatagal forum's implementing rules na to minimize and/or eliminate yung mga spam postings.

Onti-onti ay nagiging source of information na talaga itong forum instead of source of income which is the number one purpose of this forum.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HONEYSWAP- A UNISWAP CLONE WITH POTENTIAL on: September 28, 2020, 09:45:04 AM
The cheap fee is pretty convincing but I'm trying to know more about the project and it seems I can't find any information about this exchange except this post. I'm trying to find their announcement here in Bitcointalk but unfortunately there's none and found only their twitter which I found out that it was made September 20 only. The interesting part is that honey is part of Hive1 which was created 2 years ago and started from Ethereum until they migrated to xdai this jul. There's still not enough information to say that it's good to invest in their exchange but it's good that they are not new. Just be careful everyone.

524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram is trash on: September 27, 2020, 11:20:43 AM

Seems it's just an echo chamber that tells you your bags are going to the moon... And if the price happens to go down? ?
....then it's another chance to fill your bags even more LMFAO!

One critical observation.... Instaban!

Silly ass shit

Am I wrong?

Well, I can agree to some extent because every project telegram I've joined so far are like that which is why I don't use telegram anymore except when a bounty campaign needs it. They are just full of bots, bounty hunters who are just there because of rules, hypes that doesn't have a base, SCAMS, and FOMO. It's also so inorganized and when you compare it to discord, It's so inferior. So yeah it's trash lol.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BOUNTY AND UNFAIR TREATMENT OF HUNTERS on: September 27, 2020, 09:17:57 AM
If the project is so concerned about dumping, they could pay hunters in USDT and I'm certain that hunters would even prefer that.

But reality will always slap us in the face. Most project managers mentality is "Why would we pay convertible money when we can just pay them useless tokens! Not to mention abuse them and treat them like a dog!". I've been a victim of this abuse that's why I stopped doing bounty campaigns that pays in valueless tokens (Though I still consider projects that depend reputable campaign manager and project founder).
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Yearly Lows on: September 27, 2020, 06:42:14 AM
Even year 2020 still not yet over, do you think we will still experience a new yearly low? Lower than $3,850 which we experienced that around March 2020.
Which yearly lows you already experienced? Mine was 2017 - 2018.

-Source

I don't think so. Unless there's a greater dump that could surpass the largest recent dump this year, then I don't think that the coming months would even touch $5,000. Not to mention that this years lowest happened because of the sudden economic crisis because of corona virus. People are forced to sell their assets to reduce losses or buy necessities.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KUCOIN Hacked on: September 26, 2020, 12:43:33 PM
Really bad for them bur this made us validate our belief and recommendation that we should only trade on the top exchange in the industry that will insured our coins in case there is a hacked in their platform, Kucoin is a highly reputable and one of the top exchange in the market, they can assured their traders that no traders's coins are lost, but this is the kind of news that newbies are fearing.

It's really unfortunate that this happened but this will also serve as an example that the exchanges are responsible for our lost and fortunately enough, they are going to compensate the users. This is probably one of the reason why people should trade at the top exchanges because they have the means and funds to return the money as long as they are at fault. I hope Kucoin really learns from this and tighten their security as I am also a user who use their platform for trading Bitcoin.
528  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Pinakamadaling paraan ng pagconvert from PHP to BTC? on: September 26, 2020, 11:57:14 AM
529  Other / Archival / Re: Vulnerability in Lightning Network on: September 26, 2020, 07:51:07 AM
At least the developer noticed this sooner than later and informed people because imagine if LN became widely being used and hackers took advantage of it. It's not like this problem can't be solve. It's still a good news because developers are not stopping and actively developing LN. Although it's still early for LN to be used for business, I'm still positive about this.

Who knows, LN might be the development that will save Bitcoin from having absurd fees in the future.
530  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Not your keys, not your Crypto. – Potential $150m Kucoin hack on: September 26, 2020, 03:04:10 AM
I've been using kucoin for the last couple of months and I've never had problems with it. Good thing I only trade Bitcoin there or else I might have been a victim too. Since they are one of the reputable exchange out there, they will most likely compensate those who lost their coins as they said. They are probably hiding the fact that they got hacked since they are known to have never been hacked before.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Israeli draft bill may ease the heavy taxation. on: September 25, 2020, 12:07:29 PM
25% tax in cryptocurrency is just too much even at initial assessment so they are probably thinking that profit in cryptocurrency is huge and the government took advantage of it. That's probably hindering the growth of the users there in Israeli. If by chance that they really lessen the tax burden, companies that deals with cryptocurrency might go there.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was 2017 the "Golden Year of Crypto"? on: September 25, 2020, 10:09:57 AM
The golden years for scammers and fraudsters I guess. A lot of people and investors are still ignorant back then which is why most cryptocurrencies pump even though they are useless. Though it is also the time where Bitcoin was widely known. We can't deny the impact of 2017 event in the growth of Bitcoin but I think it's still not the golden years of Bitcoin.
533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What the future holds for bitcoin on: September 25, 2020, 09:34:53 AM
Most people prefer using bitcoin as a medium of exchange.
Did you use Bitcoin to pay household bills, taxes, and regular shopping? I doubt it, you'll still use fiat.

Bitcoin is not really good option to pay regular shopping due to high volatility. You'll need to pay higher fees for get confirmed faster, or you'll need to wait until the price is same as your purchase.

I agree. The only way for Bitcoin to be viable is through the use of lightning network which as of now is still not fully developed and will probably take more years to be useable for common people. Another option is the use of centralized 3rd-party wallet that accepts Bitcoin to pay for bills, shopping, etc (I personally use this because of how convenient it is with Bitcoin).

Overall Bitcoin still has room to grow and too undeveloped to be compared to a fiat.
534  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Ako si Dogie's Channel Hacked and became a Crypto Channel. on: September 25, 2020, 05:09:14 AM

535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks Launder $2 Trillion While Claiming BTC Is For Money Laundering? on: September 24, 2020, 06:44:51 AM
People are basing on the nature of Bitcoin and it's potential to become a tool for money laundering which is why a lot of people are saying that Bitcoin is being used to launder money. With enough development, Bitcoin will surely attract the attention of fraudsters and launderers, it's inevitable.

Do not be mistaken, banks are being used in laundering money and only ignorant denies it so it's not a surprised that that kind of money is being laundered through the system of banks. Also, bank is more developed than Bitcoin.
536  Economy / Economics / Re: Big in Japan: giant Gundam robot makes its first moves in Yokohama on: September 24, 2020, 05:14:35 AM
The problem that I can see with this is that if it allows full movement then it will be difficult because there is square cube law, the law states that as objects get bigger in size, the volume grows faster than its surface area. This means that a complete motion for the machine (walking, running etc) will affect itself, think how they make skyscrapers. Physics can be a dick but the Gundam will collapse on its own weight if they did not consider square cube law.

I agree. We still can't rule out the various problems that needed to be considered in order to make a replica of a giant robot that functions like a human. Problems will always be there no matter what but remember that humans had proven to overcome them over the years. They are probably considering it given that they are professionals and are probably trying to find a way to solve it.
537  Economy / Economics / Re: Big in Japan: giant Gundam robot makes its first moves in Yokohama on: September 23, 2020, 10:02:12 AM
I think it's not in vain but a breakthrough in computer science and engineering. This might serve as a model for future endeavors for computer scientist and engineers as Japan has always been surprising us with their development in robotics (Look at this https://www.japantimes.co.jp/tag/robots/). Who knows, we might see giant robots roaming the city in 20-50 years in the future lol.
538  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [NEW] Netflix phishing e-mail on: September 23, 2020, 09:22:04 AM

539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Sent USDT To ETH address on Coinbase, but coinbase doesn't support usdt! Help on: September 23, 2020, 08:18:33 AM
It's lost forever. Coinbase doesn't do support when it comes to accidental sending of tokens/coins to wallets that you shouldn't be sending to, it is in their terms and services I think. Almost all exchange do this. I advise you to think about life because this is probably a karma that happened to you because of scamming.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEWARE OF FAKE GIVEAWAYS IN DISGUISE AS UNISWAP on: September 23, 2020, 05:49:12 AM
The scammers are pretty clever to actually use this recent airdrop to scam greedy newbies. But to be honest, how do people fall for this? Isn't it common sense to not send money to anyone especially to someone you don't know? But the harsh reality doesn't want us that. A lot of people who use UNI doesn't even know Bitcointalk and probably won't read this thread.
