521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Back then and Now, lesson learnt on: July 08, 2020, 05:30:54 AM
Don't worry mate, it's normal to make mistakes especially knowing that you're still a newbie. You are not alone, all of us for sure did dumb things in the past. Like in my case, I believed on the false promises of HYIPs and faucets when I was a beginner Grin. You already learned a lesson and that's the most important thing right now.
[snip]
these CPU mined coins are being beaten by coins/tokens  coming from ICO because of their used case they have a roadmap, platform and developers are active in giving an update on the coins/tokens
Oh yeah! They are beaten by the ICOs but offers no 100% guarantee of earning either because most of them are trash as well. *sigh Why seems most of the investors are never getting tired of these things where there are already old good alts existing in the market in the first place?
522  Other / Meta / Re: Video tutorial needed for newbies on: July 08, 2020, 03:08:35 AM
[snip]
Yeah, I was like, am I reading on a hyperlink?? lol
Same here tsk. I click multiple times on it because I thought there is something wrong.
I think it is literally a spoon feeding scenario for newbies that they might just overlook the fundamentals of the forum. Besides the forum isn't that hard to learn.
You nailed it! It was already an act of spoon feeding. No hate for the newbies but for me doing it was too much. @OP ~ This forum is not so different from social media sites, yeah I know this is less attractive but the whole system is simple too IMO. Here's a simple trick that I learned during my newbie days, have the guts to click what makes you curious and observe Cheesy.
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lesson plans about Bitcoin achieved on: July 07, 2020, 05:55:03 PM
The syllabus looks fine for me. I only suggest to teach Daytrading first before going to Mining Cheesy because the latter one is more complex than the other.. You can also teach a glimpse of alt coins for them to realize the pros and cons of it compared to bitcoin. In this way, your students will be aware of the danger of investing to recent sprouting tokens which are mostly scam or failure. Therefore, it will result to less victims of money loss.
3. Introduction to a forum dedicated for discussion of Bitcoins named Bitcointalk Forum
I like this one Smiley. You not only able to give your students legit references for their study but also encourging them to become part of our community. Maybe one of them soon will be well recognized and become one of the forum's assets in the future, who knows?
524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What or how does it feels to grow in rank?! on: July 07, 2020, 12:53:14 PM
If there was no merit system and no rankings, then there would have not been much interest to post actively in the forum.
Indeed, the merit system challenges me for real. You know the feeling of posting as hard as you can and then go to your profile the moment you log in once again to know whether you able to get at least a single merit or not? That's what I feel most of the time. So thrilling! It makes my heart skip a beat Grin. Though I don't get merits sometimes but that's fine with me, getting nothing doesn't make me hate this forum. It actually encourages me to grind harder because I'm not really contented with 71 merits. I want to have more.

The wide variety of topics here is also one of the main reasons why I'm still interested in this forum. It really tests my brain to cope in various discussions. I'm used on solving math problems and thought it was the hardest to understand but d*mn economics and technology (mainly crypotocurrency) is more complex lol. I'm still a newbie when it comes on those topics that's why I remain eager to stay here to contimue learning Cheesy.
525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you value to add value to Human knowledge or your value is to earn merits? on: July 07, 2020, 07:22:44 AM
I just share what info I could offer and advice what I think is the best, that's all. If I received merit in return then thanks but if not then that's okay. I am not thinking about it too much because I know that it will stress the hell out of me. You know, it's so depressing to compare your progress on others' Grin. Always remember that the knowledge we acquired here is considered the main prize while merit is only a consolation prize.
I was a complete noob who was very envious of highly ranked forum members. I didn't know they took time and worked diligently to earn their various positions. I received my first merit, I kneww I had to work more to earn myself their position.
Look, you already had 12 merits. That's a lot of progress dude so keep grinding Shocked.
526  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long can the gov keep up the economic lie: downplaying the pandemic? on: July 06, 2020, 10:51:58 AM
Government lying about the real status of the virus in their country or even manipulating the numbers (cases, recoveries and death)? I'm not surprised about doing such thing because sometimes lying serve as their last resort to keep their people sane and avoid the tendencies of people raging against them. Hmm, it's just like NASA not confirming the existence of aliens, CIA undergoing secret missions etc.

However, the effects of this pandemic on the economy cannot be hide. Citizens will definitely notice the bloating unemployment rate, overcrowded health facilities, hunger (like what's currently ha0pening in our country). The decrease in quality of life is pretty obvious.

- Vaccine coming (it may not)
As far as I remember there is already an Indian company which will release their vaccine very soon. The estimated time of its release is by the month of August. Correct me if I'm wrong but hoping this will happen for real Smiley.
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 06, 2020, 08:34:08 AM
How can you say that? Are you into alts now? Alts which are mostly are scam and trash lmao. Well, that's your own feeling so I respect it. I just hope you found a better investment other than this Wink. Me? I will never get tired of investing to btc as long as the growth and volatility never vanish.

Greater adoption of this coin do not threaten me as well, actually it's favorable for us because it lead us closer to our dream of crypto revolution — the more, the merrier.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 06, 2020, 05:04:32 AM
It appears that Dana's evil genius plan of ignoring Jorge Masvidal's demands and giving Gilbert Burns the opportunity then infecting him of the coronavirus on the last week before the fight has worked on Jorge hehehehe.
Yeah! What a lucky guy hahaha. Dan seems forced because he got no choice but to grant his demands or else the main event won't happen at all Grin.

Besides I'm sure that Dana will breakeven in no time because the main event become more exciting than the original plan. He can expect this match will generate a lot of money for him. Thus, I'm glad he did the right choice.

Update: Masvidal passed the covid 19 test. Nice!
529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Note to newbies on: July 06, 2020, 01:51:22 AM
However, somewhere along the way that original purpose of the forum was lost and now probably at least 90% of the posts on the forum are written to meet the conditions of the signature campaign  Grin Grin
Nah, it was not lost totally. What just happened is that the motivation of most members changed. New members keep coming here not because they wanted to become part of the community only but also to try their luck on campaigns. Nonetheless, I don't see anything wrong about sig campaigns. It doesn't deteriorate the forum IMO — the toxic members do.
The forum is therefore much more active of course but is it good in the long run?
I guess it's questions for admins.
The admins do not have the answer, everything depends on us. Whether there are campaigns/bounties or any kind of opportunity existing or not, the peace and orderliness of this forum depend on how we all behave. That's it Smiley.
530  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: July 05, 2020, 12:38:58 PM
I had to read this one 3 times to understand that he's talking about bounties

[snip]

Legend:
Undertakings - projects
abundance - bounty
abundance trackers - bounty hunters

Damn autocorrect... I mean, autotranslate! Smiley

I got dizzy after reading his post. Actually, I may not understand it very well without the legend Grin so thanks to you btcltsdigger.

Hmm I wonder if he really used auto translate or not because I find the coherence of his post intact. What I think he did is that he just used metaphors (sort of lol). The only problem is that it was way too far from what he really meant.

Ps: just my own point of view, I'm not sure with it either.
531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guys avoid panic sell... on: July 05, 2020, 10:27:18 AM
I believe that today there is no reason to panic, especially considering the fact that the cryptocurrency market has been in very good and stable condition for quite some time.
Ehem, yeah the cryptosphere was working fine at the moment but I just reminding you that we're all physically living in Earth where fiat is majority used.  Many countries around the globe are experiencing economic recession due to the current pandemic thus most of people need contingency funds. And I think that's enough reason to panic sell especially for those people who are not financially stable. Well, te least thing I hope is just that crypto market will not fall so hard
532  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Motivation on: July 05, 2020, 04:22:43 AM
_Breathing is as risky or more as going for a war, but doesn't mean you should stop breathing...
To be honest, I don't get this one Cheesy. I don't see clear relevance of breathing and war. Hmm, maybe 'Our life is not perfect, there are problems and trials but we should keep on moving because happiness exist in this world and we could find it'? That's just my own interpretation hihihi.
_Build in you the spirit of dedication
That id one of the best advice you can think of. Love what you do and everything will become easy Smiley. So if you are into crypto investing, learn to love what you do and do not think this is all about money talks. Enjoy the beauty of this technology so that your worl won't be so stressful.

When it comes to motivation, I suggest you to listen yo Lose Yourself by Eminem. I'm sure you'll love it.
533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of Americans still don't know what Bitcoin is on: July 05, 2020, 01:50:40 AM
Like what they've said, 1. You just bumped into 2 clients and not the rest of the population so it's not so easy to conclude that most Americans are not familiar with bitcoin, and 2. You also got a point somehow, it's not quite shocking if most of the people you encountered don't know bitcoin. I mean, it was a new technology after all so it was understandable if only geeks like us knew it for now. Actually, even a bank staff which I talk with here in my country don't know about it. What more for a simple person Cheesy
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest to this project ? on: July 04, 2020, 12:42:44 PM
Hi , I have never invested for a project [...]
Curioinvest is still good, even after paying bounty hunters the price doesn't dump, it means development are active for this project but only invest what you can afford to lose, nothing is certain in crypto space
Great! OP is not too late on jumping in the boat but I think it's still not a good idea for him to invest especially that he never did it before. He is not yet experienced thus he might end up dumping his coins just to cut his losses and not to make profits at all.

@OP ~ Just a clarification, is this your first time to invest with tokens or a first timer in crypto investing? If you're in the latter thsn I suggest you to try btc or eth first. Those coins are much safer than others.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 04, 2020, 08:15:42 AM
Oh yeah, I heard the news a while ago and it seems that shifting of events may result to a more interesting fight lol. The only thing we need to do is for Dana to say yes. It is a blessing in disguise Smiley (is it appropriate to say it? No offense intended).

However, I'm lowering my expectations regarding such possibility since we all knew that there's a bad blood between Masvidal and Dana lately. But I hope Dana will consider this, if were him I'll forget the issue for the meantime because what's more important is getting more money.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 04, 2020, 04:54:19 AM
Another bad news guys! Burns tested positive for Covid 19, out of UFC 251. Tell me this is not happening Shocked. I'm so disappointed that the main event will not happen anymore but good for us there are two exciting title match remaining.

Hoping Burns and the rest of his team get well soon.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 04, 2020, 02:36:04 AM
It is a really sad news and during the past few weeks he used to post videos about training hard to relieve his stress because of his fathers condition and now he is no more and how it will affect Khabib is to be seen. About the record, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is a legend of the sport but not sure about the world record as i searched the Guinness books of records but cannot find that record but it might be a Russian record or they never applied to get enrolled in Guinness.

With or without award he is a true legend. I'm sure, wherever Abdulmanap is, he is very proud of his son. Khabib follow what his father taught him — train everyday. Imagine, he still train despite of his father being in coma. I know it's very hard for Khabib's side because the psychological effect of such crucial situation can drain him but he still continue. What a brave man! Condolences for his beloved family Sad.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any successful precious metal crypto? on: July 03, 2020, 01:31:14 PM
As far as I know, none. Most of the alts I know are based on real applications (privacy, internet-of-things etc.).. I haven't heard a crypto backed with something valuable aside from Tether. Besides it doesn't make any sense for me because minerals and metals are rare. It's impossible for a team to own huge amount of it to back up their own project. So if you bumped into a new token making such assumptions, get away of it already because it most probably a scam Smiley.
539  Other / Meta / Re: Quiz: History on Bitcointalk on: July 03, 2020, 09:58:07 AM
Quiz was too hard at this time. To be honest if you weren't mentioned the source thread then likely I can't even answer 30% of questions.
Hahaha, I feel you bro. I'm very embarassed that I only got 5 points. Now it makes me question myself if I'm really a member of this forum or an alien lmao. I guess I'm just bad when it comes to Gen. Info. and History Grin

That was a fun quiz nevertheless. I will study more trivias to get higher scores next time hahaha.
540  Economy / Economics / Re: Lives vs Economy -- sad truth on: July 03, 2020, 07:28:10 AM
As we are dealing with the pandemic, the virus disease is prone to old citizens they have a weaker immune system than an average person and young adults although we also have a lot of cases of them too but there are more people who ages 40+ in the tallied cases. The sad truth is that some of them are not getting attention from the hospitals, why? because they prioritize a person based on its age, why? because it would be more worthy if you save a productive person over an old and weak person. The government is really doing this for the economy in the future days.
No! That's not true. I do believe that a life is a life so it should be saved despite of its quality. The call of dictating who's gonna live or not is not our call, it's God. So I strongly believe that doctors and the rest of health force don't care whether you are a young thief covid patient or an old pastor covid patient, they are both equal thus will both save you as much as they can.

Actually, I got the same mindset like yours before — always going for the greater good. But my environment influenced me to change. I'm getting inspired every time I watch the news and see a 60+ yrs. old woman recovered and even an infant. This means that people are naturally compassionate and value the most precious gift of our God Smiley.
