521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing The Witness Projects: Revolutionizing Everyday Platforms and Devices on: May 20, 2023, 08:13:35 AM
Ok, but the fact that the owner of 1 min video created it together with prove of ownership writen on blockchain does not guarantee that someone else wont steal/use/monetize it.
The only thing that guarantees the preservation of copyright is centralized entities and the law in force in the physical world, which currently probably does not have prepared procedures for dealing with NFT. So it doesn't matter if I have the NFT of my video or not, I still have to go to court if someone breaks the law. I can only use nft there as proof, but the same proof will be the date the video was uploaded on youtube.

I don't think the world is ready for this solution and the idea itself will have wide application. Renting your video sounds interesting, but I don't think there will be much interest in such a product.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Casper (CSPR) worth an investment? on: May 19, 2023, 01:37:05 PM
I have recently come across Casper after looking at XRP and HBAR and wonder if this is a popular investment amongst us on this forum?

Have been researching and many say Casper could reach $1 next bull run which would give us a 21x from current price of $0.047.

A $1 price would give Casper a $11b market cap which isn't that much compared to how high others will go next bull run.

Any thoughts?

Whats their userbase? Whats their use case? Are they unique and inimitable? what market share do they have (I'm talking about real utilities and traffic, not capitalization)? Because I personally have been in crypto every day for 6 years, I use many services, cex, dex and I have not heard about it. So I give this project a fair valuation of 1-10 mln $ at best. Which means -98%/-99,8% from current price. Not $11B. you even know how much money it is? You really think that startup without real usecase is worth that much? Startup in the world where there are 25 000 alternatives? (that much is listed on CMC, another 200 000 is not)
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing The Witness Projects: Revolutionizing Everyday Platforms and Devices on: May 19, 2023, 01:31:20 PM
Our flagship project, YouOwn, is a decentralized social media and content sharing platform that empowers creators by providing true ownership over their content. Through the use of blockchain and NFT certificates, content creators can protect their intellectual property while democratizing decision-making within the platform.

Thats what Copyright is made for. And it does not need blockchain and NFT. It just works starting from 1970:
"The U.S. Copyright Act of 1970 was enacted to protect creative works from unauthorized use or copyright infringement."
https://www.legalzoom.com/articles/how-to-avoid-copyright-infringement

and everyone is obligated to respect it. in the event of their violation, the case goes to the court, which will plead guilty. And it doesn't matter whether the proof is the date the image was added to the Internet or the date of creation of the NFT. And so the court, the police, and other physical services are needed to determine and enforce the punishment. I don't think the world needs this product. At least for now.
524  Local / Polski / Re: Nowy portfel Ledger Nano X on: May 19, 2023, 01:16:08 PM

525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So when bitcoin version 2 satoshi? on: May 19, 2023, 01:02:17 PM

There is nothing like fair distribution of money because there will always be a guy who will spend everything as soon as he gets it and the other one who will save and invest. Sooner or later one of them will be a millionaire and the other one will stay poor.

fair distribution upon creation of supply bud, not everyone has the same supply all the time.

every means of payment will sooner or later be monopolized (centralized) by some (smart, enterprising and brave) at the expense of others (timid, not as inteligent, etc.). You can't change that in any way, unless you create the future symilar to "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, where people do not have property but also desires, goals, ideas and any emotional deficiencies are drowned out by the perfect happiness-producing drug called "soma".

there is nothing wrong with bitcoin distribution. there is nothing wrong with the fact that in extreme cases, after a decade or two, a few identities will have 90% supply, because the future of the network is determined by miners and not owners (this is not a POS). There is nothing wrong with this as long as no one can steal or devalue money you already earned.

526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Unlocking the Power of Digital Identity: Reshaping Financial Empowerment on: May 18, 2023, 05:57:33 AM
In general, some form of inimitable, unique form of digital identity (anonymous in a perfect world) seams to be a mast have in todays word where AI can generate infinite amount of content almost instantly. IDENA is trying to solve this starting from 2019. Its not a perfect solution. Not even close. But worth to do a reasearch about it. Its proof of person blockchain where every node have equal voting power. Sybil resistance is achived (i hope so) by Turing test.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How stable is USDT in the banking crisis of 2023? on: May 18, 2023, 05:49:55 AM
The truth is that all stablecoins have some significant risk for holders.

Even if they have reserves in banks, the bank may just go bankrupt (as we have seen with usdc)

Theoretically, you're right, but in practice, the FDIC and the Fed already said that no customer will be hurt by the banking crisis. no matter how big their deposit was (even above $250k - standard FDIC insurance). even if bank was not "too big to fail'.  As far as I know, USDC recovered lost funds.

Go to metals, gold, etfs, stocks, bonds, crypto, etc. All asset classes carry a different risk, and being expose to many different risks is way safer than to a few ones.

+1. Totally agree.
528  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed to a nowhere economic direction ? on: May 17, 2023, 09:29:52 AM

In my country over the past few months, the interest rates have been declining. Our government aims to stimulate the economy through a set of financial policies but there seems to be less effective than before. Under the backdrop of the global economic recession, no government will be able to outperform others easily. The dilemma we are facing now is that we are actually losing whether to spend the few money we have at hands or to save it in banks for less and less interest. Real estate is collapsing and even the rich people have no options to invest.

Personally I have invested in cryptocurrencies but due to the current market, there is no sign that I will profit any time soon, so I guess the result of the investment remains unknown. Although I still have steady income from my job, uncertainties will not diminish as I hope for a stable feed for my family and for savings as much as possible. What is your situation in your country ? Are you going to experience some economic turmoil as well ? Please let me know.

Where are you from? Because most of countries are currently at tightening stage fallowing US in increasing interest rates.

In my country (poland) the Monetary Policy Council set the interest rate at 6.75% in October 2022 and there is no indication that they will lower it. On the contrary, with inflation at 15%, it would be useful to raise it even more.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MicroCap buying "technique" !!??!! on: May 16, 2023, 06:29:43 AM
so my question is when you buy a microcap moonshot do you place a stop loss to try and get it cheaper if the price drops significantly or do you simply buy and hold in the hope/belief it will make significant gains come the bull run.

Most of microcaps are listed only on dexes (without stoploss) with little liquidity and high volatility. Volatility so high that 30-50% up or down push is nothing extraordinary. Liquidity so low, that wrongly places stoploss will dump price to zero (flash crash).

I agree with o48o. the only option with such investments is to allocate a very small part of the portfolio and forget. Kind of like sending a lottery ticket.

gdzie Ci ta linia oporu wychodzi?

Czerwona.

532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have betted 100$ on this token [BSC CHAIN] and I explain why on: May 15, 2023, 06:51:30 AM

There is only 860$ locked. It's not something anyone should care about. In fact, this is the only liquidity the token has. All in all, this is more of a disadvantage than an advantage of the project.
And the fact that it's locked to 260 doesn't mean it can't be withdrawn by devs. All they have to do is to dump the rest of the tokens they have in this LP to get most of BUSD back.

As you guys know, we are living the early periods of the crypto market in which what determines if a coin/token thrives is not just utility but irrational hypes from internet communities. Just Look at Pepe and other meme-Coins

Its not how it works. Some meme coins give such returns not because they have funny name and people wants to have it. its because they are created by people with great capital who manipulate valuations at the beggining of project and pay for huge marketing campaigns which manipulate people with the help of depth psychology by showing huge pumps as an argument that it is a good project and that it will continue to grow.

My description has nothing to do with the token you bring here- not even a fake utility, no website, no marketing campaign, no capital ($800 is not capital). So far its not even worth 4000$ because everyone can create such token after 1 hour youtube tutorial and 5 min of coding.

When I say life changing I mean getting retired from working.

Just stop with this BS.

a jak zloto sie miewa?

Walczy o nowe ATH.

https://www.mining.com/central-banks-are-buying-gold-at-a-record-pace-so-far-in-2023/

534  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: May 14, 2023, 07:15:35 AM

Na chwilę obecną wiele wskaźników przewiduje recesję, włączając w to najważniejszy indykator według obecnego szefa FEDu pana Jerome Powell czyli spread pomiędzy 3 i 18 miesięcznymi obligacjami.

535  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: May 13, 2023, 04:21:01 PM

sp500 i niemal idealna odwrotna korelacja do inflacji podczas wielkiej inflacji 1970-1980 w USA. (np górka inflacji w 1970, 1974 idealnie z dołkiem indeksów. To samo dołek inflacji 1972 i 1977 z lokalnymi szczytami).

Dziś inflacja 9% w usa, wtedy 3 fale inflacyjne (6%, 12% i 15%)

"Historical data have generally supported the “Sell in May and Go Away” adage over the years and since 1945. The S&P 500 Index has recorded a cumulative six-month average gain of 6.7% in the period between November to April compared to an average gain of around 2% between May and October."

536  Local / Polski / Re: TalkImg.com - Hosting zdjęć dla BitcoinTalk on: May 12, 2023, 06:25:36 AM

538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SART - The Stablecoin Alternative (Feedback Request) on: May 11, 2023, 06:51:45 AM
Well we already have a decentralized stablecoin backed by other crypto with reserves significantly exceeding liabilities. Its called DAI.

But I'm not entirely sure if that's what you meant because you went from stablecoin to "more stable way to hold ETH". If ETH volatility overwhelms you, I recommend simply reducing your exposure. Use remaining cash to buy gold/stocks/bonds/real estate or even interest-bearing bank deposit. Why should I need a separate asset to reduce ETH volatility with extra limitations, fees and questionable effectiveness if i can simply own less coins? And if I really want to own this much ETH .. I can hedge currency risk using options or futures without limitations.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Binance Innovation Zone on: May 11, 2023, 06:23:18 AM
You have to admit that "innovation zone" is a misleading name for projects that are dead or slowly dying, but it's too early to delist them Smiley I think it would be nice to change the name or create a separate section for such projects. By the way, binance moved a lot of projects there from the "normal zone", I get to know a lot of them, some of them were very popular and hyped few months ago.
540  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Futures trading and spots trading explained briefly on: May 11, 2023, 06:09:32 AM
Futures trading looks easy, just guess the price is up or down but the risk is very high.
This can be like gambling if you only rely on instinct without having trading knowledge.

Same apply to spot trading. If you go with your instinct and spot buy shitcoin that is going to do a rug-pull you will end up with nothing.
The only difference is that you can't get margin call, but there is a easy fix for this called money management and proper stoploss which is important also for spot trading.

You can't say a tool is bad just because it requires a little more knowledge. You might as well say that a stick is better than a knife at cutting meat, because you can cut yourself with a knife.

Yeah some of the things you said are correct and not totally taking out the things already said but is just to make it simpler. Like in this instance, is just for a lay man to understand that their is a kind of meeting point for drop off and collection which is in form of buying and selling but not physically.

To make it simple. In spot trading, you are buying or selling an asset, in futures trading, you are buying/selling exposure to the price change of an asset and nothing more.
