521  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 20, 2023, 05:27:35 PM
We are all are thinking of our future, so I like to get your opinion between the two on what will you choose to secure your future.
At this moment in time, I prefer not to gamble on my future so a traditional business that has lower risk and reward would be my ideal choice, but If I were to witness the last few mined bitcoins [around the year 2140] in my twenties, my answer would've been completely different.
522  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Safe 3 New Hardware Wallet on: October 20, 2023, 02:22:38 PM
and if you want to change back to the other, then you have to erase the device and start over.
You're not required to erase your device, but it's best to use it with a new set of seed phrases [and a passphrase].

in the older devices it is firm ware, but the firmware can still be changed back and forth, no?
Yes, and it takes around a minute to complete: Firmware switching

The process for installing Bitcoin-only firmware is different from installing regular firmware. You must first download the firmware only for Bitcoin to your computer, here are the installation instructions:
https://blog.trezor.io/sources-say-orange-coin-good-new-bitcoin-only-firmware-now-available-47be0b611a4d
There's an easier way that's been around for more than a year: Trezor Suite added an "easy" way to "directly" install Bitcoin-only firmware

Trezor released two different cases. The universal model is black, front and back.
They released four different backplates... Apart from the cosmic black, you can choose the stellar silver and solar gold as well.
523  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is alamin99 ? Scammer ? Hacker ? Exit Dev ? on: October 20, 2023, 06:50:25 AM
And I don't have any solid prove at the moment except the conversation in this forum with that user. I don't even have that email anymore. If you check the convo, you can see I was messing with him (he must have done something else why would I) and finally sent message in this forum. Now I think I should have never gave him the money back. Should have donated to street dogs rather than him.
With consideration of the time this incident took place and its outcome, I don't want to drag this case any further so despite a few missing pieces here and there, I'm changing my feedback to neutral.

I will only f**k those who deserve it.
Only if you'll be doing it in the right way! Steps are different for each platform [e.g. in this forum: Use the proper "Scam Report Format" to open a thread on the "Scam Accusations" board and if there was an agreement in place, you can add a "trust flag (e.g. type 2 and 3)" as well].
524  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is alamin99 ? Scammer ? Hacker ? Exit Dev ? on: October 19, 2023, 06:55:07 AM
nor I had any investment here
The time you spend in this forum and the reputation you build is an investment here.

The time I hacked it was just $20 and when I repaid it was like $1000. Who in the world would do this?
A couple of notes:

  • You made that transaction when Bitcoin was around $9,900 [28/Nov/2017], so it was around $435 [not $1000]!
  • We're on a Bitcoin forum and when you borrow [your own word on exchanged emails] or rather steal a certain amount in Bitcoin, you have to return that exact amount in Bitcoin as well!

I was pissed because he hired me to work on his project and then without saying anything he hired another guy and kicked me from the project without saying a single word. He didn't even pay me a single dollar for the work and the time I put in. So I was like wait, you would be surprised in the morning after I drain your shitty faucet.
If you're able to provide concrete proof of this, I'll change my feedback right away [I've also experienced the same thing in the past, so I understand what you felt at the time, but your approach wasn't the correct way of dealing with such users].

And if I hack other platform to pay him? Then what's the point to hack again? So I hack to pay the previous one, then hack again to pay the other one. And like that? Is it logical?
You misunderstood that part [my bad for not explaining it in a clear manner (sorry)]... I was referring to only paying one of the victims for an unknown reason.
525  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is alamin99 ? Scammer ? Hacker ? Exit Dev ? on: October 18, 2023, 04:56:36 PM
Everyone has their own life, personal IRL or online. It does not look the user alamin99 is regular anymore on the forum too. Asking such questions like why anyone decided to respond after x amount of time is just a conversation loop.
You have a point but back then, he/she was active enough to notice the feedback in question!

I don't have full story
Luckily, it's not that long... Should only take you around 30 minutes to get the full picture [refer to posts and threads from #26 to #8 (there are only a few unrelated posts in-between)].
- View it using the incognito mode if you have ignored some of the boards.

In such situation, leaving a negative feedback seems very unnecessary. Instead of encouraging the right which won against a wrong, you are discouraging others to stay silent with their past mistakes.
At best, I might change it into neutral feedback, but I still wouldn't trust the user in question, and just as a reminder why I left that feedback:

  • Quote
Negative - You think that trading with this person is high-risk.

With regard to the repayment part, it could've been a cover-up [e.g. ulterior motive]... In addition to that, there's no way of knowing if he/she didn't hack another platform to steal from someone else and use that to pay the affected user on this forum!
526  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is alamin99 ? Scammer ? Hacker ? Exit Dev ? on: October 18, 2023, 02:11:18 PM
Buddy I was just pissed with that guy and taught him a lesson. And that is story from long time ago.
Would you mind explaining to us why it took you almost five years to respond to this thread? Regarding your reasoning behind the hacking incident, from what I've read so far it appears that you're not telling the truth!
527  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why? on: October 18, 2023, 11:44:28 AM
and the best practices for keeping my investments safe?
It's already in the opening post: Best Practices

I've heard about hardware wallets and software wallets, but i'm not sure which one is right for me.
Considering that you mentioned "Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies", a hardware wallet that supports all of those cryptocurrencies would be the ideal choice [make sure to go with a hardware wallet that is "open-source", has "reproducible builds" and "secure element"].
528  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN]Limercoin: Your Ultimate Crypto Mining Simulator Game is Now Live!Play&Earn on: October 18, 2023, 10:30:02 AM
@crypto_diver_fan
  • I'm not sure if you're changing something in the backend, but it's worth noting that after a few hours of testing your platform, I keep getting "this error" after completing the games [x3 in coin cacher, x1 in coin puzzle]!
  • IMO, the 24-hour limit for changing our power distribution is a lot.
529  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: AirGap wallet- Self custody made simple and secure - Protect your crypto offline on: October 17, 2023, 06:10:58 PM
Any one using Airgap Wallet already. its been 3-4 days i am still undecided which wallet is good to buy for long term.
I only had a brief experience [e.g. tests] of using their wallet, so my answer shouldn't matter, but it was good [if you're a newcomer to this field, you might have an easier time with some of the traditional HWs].
- If you ever decide to use this wallet, make sure all of your devices make the cut: Android (5.0 and up), iOS (12 and up)
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ferrari introduced BTC payment option for their cars on: October 14, 2023, 02:51:06 PM
It will be easier for them to implement this in European countries, but for Asian countries it will be really tough.
I do not see any obstacles to such implementation in Asian countries that legally accept cryptocurrencies and if you were referring to the availability of BitPay's services, there's always the option of using "other payment processors in different regions".

Is there going to be a catch when you purchase with bitcoin though?
Considering that they'll be using BitPay's services, the data of Ferrari customers will be at a higher risk of being exposed if a data breach were to happen to one of them!
531  Other / Meta / Re: How to know if somone replied to my post? on: October 14, 2023, 12:14:12 PM
How do I get notified when someone calls or tags me so I can respond?
  • You can always use search feature, it's does not do great help but it works just fine.
If you're referring to the results we normally get by using the default search field from the upper right corner of pages, you're right but the advanced search page works flawlessly for mentions and tags.

    @bitnote
You can use the advanced search feature in two ways:

    • Click the search tab button from the menu [upper left corner] > Type your forum name on the "Search for:" field > Choose its time period on the "Message age:" field > Click search.
    • Click the magnifier icon from the upper right corner of the page [beside search field] > Follow the rest of the steps I mentioned earlier.
532  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam Tether Airdrop Website on: October 13, 2023, 08:39:51 PM
Found a few more on Google:

Code:
https://1000-usd.xyz/

Website:
Code:
https://tether.tf/

Out of curiosity, does it work better than directly reporting to registrars [unfortunately, most of them tend to ignore my reports in the last couple of years]?
533  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Discussion]Business idea gamit ang Bitcoin on: October 13, 2023, 07:14:53 PM

Any idea even insane idea. Walang criticism but make sure na tanggap nyo na maaaring gamitin ng kabayan natin dito yung shared idea nyo.
  • Anonymous parcel forwarding service
  • Bitcoin [lightning network (layer 2)] vending machine
  • Gumawa ng mga online courses at ibenta ang mga ito for fractions of a Bitcoin
534  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 45 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: October 13, 2023, 04:50:44 PM
Added new Trezor Safe 3 models
The screen sizes appear to be wrong [it should be 0.96" (the same also applies to the Model One)].

I am trying to see if I get the missing info regarding the PIN and seedphrase entry
They mentioned in "this blog post [refer to the second paragraph in number three]" that we can enter all of the above things directly on the device itself Smiley
535  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Safe 3 New Hardware Wallet on: October 12, 2023, 09:02:36 PM
more supported cryptocurrencies,
Even though it supports Monero and a few other cryptocurrencies that were missing on the Model One, for some reason it doesn't support some of them that were available on the older model [a bit weird]: Dropped list

And now they implement it and call it ground breaking, as if everyone else hasn't been doing it for years already. Roll Eyes
I haven't looked at other manufacturers to see their setup [e.g. NDAs etc...] for this particular thing, but perhaps it's not as bad as it looks:

I just hope that they improve the screen durability. My last trezor suffer a small dot burnt on the screen until it got covered the whole screen to make it not visible already.
Considering that they're still using an OLED display ["a new one"] on the Safe 3, the LCD panel on your Model T is probably more durable than that [unfortunately]!

BTW, "this subreddit thread" might come in handy to those who are interested in reading more about their SE.
536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Here are some forum features that I discovered after spending some time here. on: October 11, 2023, 04:17:30 PM
5. Watchlist: If you don’t want to see a lot of Unwanted Threads in the "Show new replies to your posts." section, Which are listed there when we respond to threads and other users write a reply on that thread so we can know what are more replies from other members. you can edit that watchlist for a clean view.

https://i.ibb.co/JR4SQWX/dset.png             https://i.ibb.co/QN0G7cH/shw.png
It appears that you're mixing two different things together... By editing your "Watchlist", you're not limiting the threads that you've replied to from appearing on the "Show new replies to your posts" list!
538  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Moneygram ginamit narin ang blockchain technology on: October 10, 2023, 05:13:46 PM
Ano satingin nyo?

539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers on: October 10, 2023, 02:25:47 PM
I've removed it to "removed Blockexplorers".
How about CoinCap [inaccessible] and Learnmeabitcoin [6,444 blocks behind (and counting)] explorers? Tongue
- 2 Months have passed since I last mentioned them and still no changes (I don't think they'll be back).

+1, I've found it, SFR10 suggested it here.
If he's ok, I'll re-name it "Chainz CryptoID".
Is it ok for you, @SFR10?  Smiley
Yes, I'm fine with the changes Smiley, but it's worth noting that their Bitcoin Explorer is the only one redirecting to a link that doesn't use the word Chainz in its URL.
540  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: October 10, 2023, 12:58:52 PM
they added Tor support (not working for Monero),
And Epic Cash.

In addition to that, it appears that all of the nodes are disconnected by default [it's a nice touch] but having said that, if you connect them, it no longer gives you the option of disconnecting them [unfortunately].
