UGH are we dropping under 35k tonight or what?

Looks like we're recovering.

Expecting things to swing towards the upside next week. Hope I'm not wrong on this one...

Oh no. This is uncomfortable now.
Nah, still above $37.500. No sweat (yet)
wait. are we supposed to be panicking or something? i would hate to be missing a good panic.
The bears want our coins, for cheap.
Remember?  Grin

Nah. This is the part where we just sit back in mock-horror, HODL, and watch the roller-coaster do its thing again.

Situation: Normal.

What are your plans if overpopulation becomes an issue? Do you not envision that to be possible or will you be happy to see diseased and/or starving deer wandering around? (Genuine question, not an attack).

If I see an obviously wasting or injured deer on my land, it will be lights out for them on compassionate grounds.

As I mentioned, the neighbors are avid deer hunters, so they can control the population.

I'll be blowing away any hogs I see with extreme prejudice. The feral hogs here are very gamey and not really good for consumption, so they are usually left to the carrion eaters out there, and are picked clean within a week.
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 30, 2022, 07:00:11 AM
Careful, overpopulation can lead to Chronic Wasting Disease. Terrible way to die... far worse than a well placed 30-06.
Oh and those Coyotes need to be put in check immediately! When populations reach a level of packs of 4-5 they are certain to go after your spring calves. Also keep an eye open for black headed buzzards. They're known to peck the eyes out of newborn calves and then slowly eat them alive.

There is plenty of land around us where people hunt deer. Won't be killing any visiting our land.

Coyotes are another matter; I understand I will need to cull those. To wit, saw one carrying off a baby goat from a neighboring property, on one of our trail cams the other day  Embarrassed

Was not aware of buzzards being an issue. Will look into that some more.
528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 30, 2022, 06:09:35 AM
I hate fucking deer.
Other than freshly killed dressed and roasted for me to eat.🧌

Sorry bud. We have enough land that we've declared the entire tract a deer sanctuary. We allow people onto our land to hunt when nobody is there, but they are given strict instructions that deer are not to be killed. Everything else is fair game.

Good take I saw on Twatter, re BIP 119.

Covenants lead to smart contracts. Smart contracts enable theft. The Bitcoin Council of Autism understands that. Jeremy is shooting himself in the foot, like you said. An unsound argument is one that you have to deflect attention away from.

Oh, is it CME's "Friday For Futures" again?  Roll Eyes

Yeah, looking for a recovery mid next week and hopefully we're back above $40k.

Patience.

Well, well, upon looking it is a too broad (51!) ETF portfolio that is selected by schwab managers, so nope for me.
Long term, they would screw it up, no doubt.

We can debate investment vehicles ad-nauseam. Just sharing experiences with what has served me well so far. You may have your reasons for not liking their offerings, but after being on this stupid space rock for a while, and being fucked around enough by various institutions, I find that Schwab "fucks me less" in the grand scheme of things.

They provide me the financial peace-of-mind I desperately need at this stage of my life, with everything going on, and Rick transitioning into retired life now.

At the end of the day, I hold way more corn value in my Bitcoin Core wallet than I do fiat at any financial institution.

TL;DR imho, replace advisors with VTSAX. It would simplify things and they (Vanguard) provide a nice PAL (pledged asset line) against it, I heard.

Fuck that. QQQ is a better performer.

The Schwab Intelligent portfolios also have been performing incredibly well for me, and will be topping those off plus a bit extra.

Probably going to put off building the house a year out there, but the barn should be going up pretty soon now, FWIW.

Related: Caught a photo of these two fuckers roaming around the pasture - Waiting for things to dry up before they finish off that section of road. Fun times.

Caught this pair on the other side of the property.

If you made it clear to your fund manager to not create excessive short-term gains you should find a different manager.

Yeah, I told them not to use that one particular manager on my accounts moving forward. Admitted he got a bit too aggressive in one of my accounts.

First world problems of the highest order I guess...

Fair Warning: Prolly gonna "panic sell" a block at $40k, after removing, and then putting less coin back up on an exchange just now.

Running into a bit of a liquidity squeeze on the ranch project due to cost overruns. Gonna take some pressure off for the rest of the year, and top off some accounts I've had to draw down on.

Responsible adulting is stressful, yo.

Tax season was rough this year; got dinged for short-term gains in some of my managed portfolios. Gave the managers a ration of shit and told them to minimize those events moving forward, which was the entire point of starting that fund to begin with.

Goddamnit.

While i am ending my affair with DJI's drone range because of big brother aka. "DJI Aeroscope".

Just read up on it. Was not aware of the product/tech prior to this.

It's a big enough deal for me that the Mavic 3 will indeed be the last DJI product I own.

What happens, though, when all drone manufacturers end up doing this? Not sure if it's ultimately a losing battle... Autel specifically, which is the only reasonable alternative IMO.

Parrot products are pure shit, as far as I'm concerned.

FWIW, took the batch of coin I was looking to possibly sell on an upswing off the exchange last night and back into my possession. Lots of talk on Twitter about exchange rehypothecation. Gemini is under intense scrutiny, so don't genuinely have liquidity concerns with them, but it's the principle - decided I don't need 'em on an exchange since I put 'em up a little while back.

No way I'm selling in this quagmire.

Back to HODLing. Heading out to the ranch later on today to break in two rifles while Rick and a friend tend to the beehives.

NGL, ranch life is becoming real fun. Game cameras are picking up quite a bit of deer, coyote, hog, and raccoon activity; will be needing to cull coyotes and hogs off our property via 7.62x51

In drone world, the Autel Evo II is performing aerial mapping missions spectacularly. Really super impressed with their offering and can't wait for the III when it eventually is released. It's a crying shame DJI does not offer similar software allowing for aerial mapping missions. Did spend some quality time with the Mavic 3, and fell in love with the scroll-wheel 28x digital zoom being able to finely zoom with subtle nudges - incredible image capture capabilities!

Anyway, back to meatspace. Have a great day, frens.

Today Bitcoin price 38.3k USD. All the coins in the market are being dumped due to the dumping of Bitcoin prices.

Stunning and brave analysis.

Just spectacular.

Jim Cramer is absolutely ass-blasted RN.

when BIP drama observers?

Eh, keeping that drama to Twitter. I wish I had time to split myself off to other threads on this site... This place is my home.

FWIW, don't see why BIP119 is being rushed. I see it introducing unneeded Layer 1 complexity for the sake of edge-case gains for L2 contract resolution under congestion.

The guy leading the push for this is doing it unilaterally, and raising some eyebrows in the process.

Rightfully so.

These BIPs should be thoroughly vetted with much discussion and testing, like Taproot was. Not rushed out like this.

Most people haven't even had a chance to fully read the proposal and fully understand what it is and does, so I can understand some bigger brains are going to need to officially weigh in on this before it goes forward.

I'm leaning towards a "No" in rushing this one through as it is.

Why the sudden hurry?

EDIT: Also, if you've established a channel with ThrobbingSausage (03746b93e0b94463624bb28eafa38f3d71b4c80df61a0f10c6340b54f56675487c), LMK your node name or channel ID, so I can adjust your fees to be waaaay cheaper than the new defaults I'm moving to. Learning the value of routing 0/0 channels since diving back in with more liquidity this time around, but not using that as a default. Only for special cases. I've adjusted some of the channels I am aware of, and am starting to slowly see flow going your way from me.

CasaHODL went woke SJW, so, it's nice to see they are looking to lose so much business with their bravery.

See Twitter, tl;dr: "we need more womens and colored hoomanz working 4 uz!"

Fucking retarded space rock.
