5301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Experts Advise Musk to Invest in Cocaine Rather than Bitcoin - Safer Investment on: May 30, 2021, 04:00:45 AM
You are misrepresenting. The article you link to does not support what you say about cocaine. Not to say it's bullshit because cocaine trafficking is illegal. You haven't done a few lines of cocaine, have you?
5302  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Covid-19 Vaccinated people will die in 2 years on: May 29, 2021, 05:49:01 PM
Sometimes we aren't clear enough with what we post. Here's what I mean.

If all the people who got Covid vaxxed would put me in their will for only $10 each on average, I'd be filthy rich in 5 years, and maybe only two years.

I already missed out on $4,000,000. How? There's already been 400,000 deaths from the vaxx. Read through Open VAERS slowly and think about what you are reading... even only the home page. 400,000 already dead from the vaxx, at $10 a head = $4 million.

Ahem, ahem:

The fact that they say:"It is a voluntary reporting system that has been estimated to account for only 1% (see the Lazarus Report) of vaccine injuries."
doesn't mean that you have to multiply the deaths by 100. You are cheating and reaching the conclusions you previously wanted to reach.
5303  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Covid-19 Vaccinated people will die in 2 years on: May 29, 2021, 10:43:35 AM
Exactly, but did you also actually commit this suicide ?
If you think that vaccine is too dangerous for humanity (it may be) but then why you yourself getting vaccinated  Shocked

I  got vaccinated today

Catching irony is not your thing, is it? He was replying to a thread titled exactly like that :

I got vaccinated today

If you take the rest of what he said out of the quote, it is even less understandable:

I  got vaccinated today

Please, right now while you think of it, put me in your will.

Cool
5304  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Covid-19 Vaccinated people will die in 2 years on: May 29, 2021, 05:04:54 AM
First: I don't know where the OP gets the idea that they are going to die in two years, because in the video he doesn't say anything about that. He basically says that vaccines create the new variants.

What surprises me is that this video is still available on Youtube, with all the censorship going on. I wouldn't be surprised if they take it down soon.

I miss debates in the mainstream media between defenders of the official version and experts like this one. Time will tell whether he is a big-mouthed expert or what.
5305  Other / Off-topic / Re: Money is the Essence of Remorse. on: May 27, 2021, 09:52:40 AM
That idea, the essence of remorse seems to me to have a Judeo-Christian basis.

Money is nothing more than a means, intrinsically it is neither good nor bad. If you get rich and you are a psychopath you will use it to screw people, and if you are an extremely altruistic good person, you will allocate a large part of it to charitable causes and the like.
5306  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reverse Bubble 2021 on: May 27, 2021, 09:48:30 AM
Interesting post. What is not 100% clear to me is how to calculate the "intrinsic value". I guess taking the S2F as a model for example. In the stock market there is a rough consensus on how to calculate intrinsic value based on evolution of cash flows, debt, equity, etc. but I think regarding Bitcoin there is no such consensus.
5307  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is our last hope for financial independence - John McAfee on: May 27, 2021, 09:42:49 AM
I would prefer that you keep your mouth shut. He had his golden opportunity back in 2016, and came off as a loudmouth. Not to mention his subsequent arrest and all the shady dealings he had to deal with:

...he was going to eat his dick on national TV if Bitcoin didn't reach $500K by the end of 2020. A bit afterwards he upped the bet and said 1 million. He openly acknowledged using drugs and prostitutes, but that is only what he acknowledged. At least there were allegations of him being linked to bribery, underage prostitution, rape, and murder.

I prefer to listen to Saylor or Keiser. Not that I trust them 100% either but they certainly give a much better image than he does. Or Andreas, who speaks from a more technical and educational perspective.
5308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Slap yourself if you didn't buy during crash, and slap harder if you... on: May 27, 2021, 06:17:47 AM
If I were to play this slapping game, would have slapped kyself silly long ago. Dollar cost average, my friend.

Of course. For most people it's the best. You plan a purchase program over time (e.g. monthly) and you keep following it no matter what the price does. Price goes up a lot? Whatever, you keep buying. Price goes down a lot? Whatever, you keep buying. Only when you have accumulated a large amount can you consider taking profits.
5309  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Australia the New North Korea? on: May 27, 2021, 06:10:44 AM
I do not know about the media subject, but to label them as an authoritarian regime akin to North Korea for their immigration policies borders on delusional.

There is a naive leftism, according to which, the borders of developed countries should be opened without restrictions and if millions of immigrants entered without control every year, we would all live happy ever after. Nothing could be further from the truth.
5310  Economy / Economics / Re: How to protect from inflation? on: May 26, 2021, 10:26:19 AM
Since we are in a Bitcoin forum, it is normal to think that the best protection against inflation is Bitcoin. And it is not that it is (only) a distorted thought, the (short) history of the Bitcoin proves it to us.

Then there are other things that are debatable. Gold today is not bad, but if most of the money that is invested in gold goes to Bitcoin, it will not serve to protect much. That's what has happened this past year.

NASDAQ 100, OK. I prefer the S&P 500 which is more diversified in sectors. The NASDAQ 100 has been more profitable than the S&P 500 in recent years but that can change at any time.

Then I also miss good, well-located, Real State on that list.
5311  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel is evil. Finish them off! on: May 26, 2021, 10:17:03 AM
OP is another simple-minded guy, like the one who wants to wipe out all Republicans. For me, everyone in armed conflicts of religions could wipe each other out. Religions served their function at one time in human history, but that time has passed and all they do is hinder progress.
5312  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long until the "we're in a bear market" people admit they were wrong? on: May 26, 2021, 08:21:16 AM
People don't usually admit that they were wrong.

Even serial killers or child rapists when they get caught. The rapist finds justification in that the child "wanted it", and the murderer, that the victim somehow "deserved it".

In the case you mention, I think that when it becomes clear that we are not in a bear market and the price continues to rise, many forget what they said.

It is seen that our brain has a tendency not to admit that we have wrong beliefs.

5313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥 WOW, Michael Saylor and Elon Musk, What do you think? on: May 25, 2021, 06:35:26 AM
Some people don't trust Saylor, and I don't trust him 100% either, just as I don't trust anyone 100%, but we must recognize that he is doing a great job for the adoption of Bitcoin. It is not that this work is disinterested, because he is all in with Bitcoin, but we must recognize that he is doing a good job.

Although there are some other things I don't like, like the message that you have to borrow to buy Bitcoin, which if misunderstood and adopted by the masses can lead us to the same problems we are trying to run away from.

5314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do many people who do not understand Bitcoin slander Bitcoin? on: May 25, 2021, 06:31:40 AM
Another thing that hasn't been mentioned here is that many people attack bitcoin because they didn't buy at the time, are still not buying, and deep down they want bitcoin to go to shit to see that their decision was the right one. Conversely, if bitcoin keeps going up, deep down they know how dumb they were for letting such an opportunity slip away.

There are other variants of this, such as those who bought high and sold at the drop in price for FUD.

Just because Bitcoin has been the most profitable asset of the last 10 years doesn't mean that there aren't people who have lost a lot of money investing in it. And many of those people attack it at the slightest drop in price.
5315  Economy / Economics / Re: We exited the bear market earler than expected on: May 25, 2021, 03:58:08 AM
Not sure about exited - I don't even think we entered it.

There has been a huge price surge since the end of last year. I think that the price drops over the last week or so are simply the inevitable correction. Sentiment overall is not bearish, it's just that the higher the prices go, the more people start to get a bit twitchy, and eager to sell at the first sign of trouble... which of course has a snowball effect.

But look at the charts over a long time frame, switch to log scale to get more perspective... and it doesn't look bearish at all.

I feel the same way, and have reflected this in other comments on the subject. Perhaps the drop has been a little more pronounced than I expected due to institutional demand, but I have not felt that we were entering a bear market, unlike some of the comments and posts I have read. I keep repeating that we are going to reach $100k this year. The weak hands have already sold, and when we go a little higher, there is going to be FOMO again

5316  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Naturally Defined By 4 Year Boom And Bust Cycles on: May 25, 2021, 03:53:41 AM
Maybe, but this could also be a case of seeing a pattern where one doesn't exist--and keep in mind that you've only got three data points here.  Plus bitcoin has tended to be quite unpredictable, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this 4-year cycle hypothesis doesn't turn out to be true.  If it were true, it would be an easy way to make money since you'd know when the market is going to peak--and I don't believe there's any way to make easy money like that.

In reality, patterns are human constructs that we use to understand reality, but not something that exists. In this case, we see a certain regularity three times in the past and assume it will be the same in the future, but there is no guarantee that the pattern cannot change. Although in this case, it is not just a few isolated numbers and graphs, the reduction in supply due to halvings seems to support this trend to a certain extent. So we can assume that this will be the trend in the future, even if it does not follow a deterministic pattern and may change.

5317  Other / Meta / Re: frodocooper nolonger a mod, what could have happened? on: May 25, 2021, 03:47:04 AM
I just checked the activity in this section for the last few years and for the last year, apparently, philipma1957 candidacy is the most suitable for the position of moderator, (not to mention the quality of the content and its loyalty). Although for some reason it seems to me that even if he is offered this position, he will refuse ...

If someone wants to propose another candidate for this position, then we can arrange a vote similar to the election of a global mod, (although theymos appointed a different person anyway).

I also think philipma1957 would be a great candidate but he will probably decline. Wouldn't it be better to know who would be willing to do the job? And more so in that section, if many are miners, I don't know if what they will be paid for moderating will motivate them.
5318  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHAT HAPPENED? I went into the hospital cam out AND.... on: May 25, 2021, 03:38:45 AM
What happened is that you don't understand anything. You have "invested" (rather gambled) in crypto and now you are crying because you have in theory lost (you never lose until you sell) 10%.

10% swings are our daily bread and butter. When I see that my portfolio has gone down 10%, I keep yawning.
5319  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Panic! Newsweek’s scary cover: ‘Forget herd immunity!’ ‘Deadly new variants’ on: May 24, 2021, 12:20:40 PM
Unfortunately God was busy trying to fix his computer when big pharma created Covid. He was trying to read the weather forecasts so that he knew when to make it rain. He still hasn't done it, so the met office is still giving us the wrong info.

Surely God did not know the difference between an open system and a closed one. He thought to have created a world where from the previous causes all effects could be deduced, and where therefore, time would be reversible. The thought of this God is too simple to have created such a complex world.

The prediction of weather has improved a lot from a few decades ago to now, but there are some degrees of freedom in the system that escape the God you refer to.

Of course, big pharma can't make money out of healthy people, so they pay the governments to reduce the effectiveness of this immunity. I am amazed when I see the reports of the success they are having, and the stupidity of people who reduce their life spans, and health, by buying poisonous pharma products.

While I don't trust Big Pharma to be angels, as I've reflected in several posts, it seems to me that you're going a bit too conspiratorial.

In reducing mortality and increasing life expectancy, the pharmaceutical industry has played an important role, as has medicine. If we had depended on the immune system alone, we would not have reached today's life expectancy with almost 8 billion people living on earth.
