If it drops to 1k, I'll sell my soul to the devil to buy bitcoin. I'll wait a few years, buy hell and kick the devil out of there.

Why did you remove the second line when quoting?  Wink
And yes you should do that, since, as @explorer mentioned, in a month it'll be back to 31k  Cheesy

Why shouldn't I? I try to avoid overquotes in general. No big deal, this is a bit off topic.
6222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 26, 2020, 08:53:13 PM
It's getting scary. If the trend goes on, in 5 days we'll reach 31k and next day it'll drop to 1k.

6223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 26, 2020, 06:24:01 PM
The flip side being that if nobody sells, the price can't go up anymore either !

But that's too imaginary. Do you really think that in a $479,028,551,331 market cap market literally nobody is going to sell?

6224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 26, 2020, 06:03:57 PM
25K to 100K is not really "price action", it's a huge amount of money that needs to pour in. 250K, well, it's even much more bigger !

But I will not bet against it either.

It's not just about money. If supply is very reduced because few people are willing to sell and also because of the deflationary nature of bitcoin, less money is needed to make the price go up.
6225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 26, 2020, 06:00:12 PM
Don't want to sound like a party pooper or nuthin', but maybe if we could, like, hang around at these levels for a coupla days, and build some support, that would kinda make me feel a bit better.

Getting too much of a runaway train vibe, and that's bad.

I think the same but just for the short-term. The faster we go up, the bigger the dip later on but if we are talking about holding bitcoin forever, just selling at some specific points, we shouldn't worry much about the speed. Bitcoin will keep going up in the long-term.
6226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is headed for the stars, but... on: December 25, 2020, 08:15:44 PM
Bitcoin is headed for the stars, but to make the most profit, the Big Bitcoin Investors are causing BTC to jump around a bit. Bitcoin hangs at $20,000... going up and down, say, $500. Then it does the same at $21,000, and $22,000, and $23,000. All the little people get scared, and sell off to the Biggies before the profit goes sky-high and beyond.

Sell your bitcoins if you need food. It doesn't make sense to starve to death hoping that you will live off BTC profits.

But if you can, hang onto the Bitcoins you have. Because you will be rich when BTC goes to a $million or higher.

Cool

Someone who gets scared by those swings shouldn't invest in bitcoin. I'd say there aren't many people like you describe, investing in bitcoin and then selling to buy food after a small 0.25% dip.
6227  Other / Meta / Re: Remove Signatures from Altcoin-sections on: December 25, 2020, 08:20:35 AM
No. Altcoin sections can create bounties for free. Signature campaigns require BTC-based payments. This is the difference.

So, I take it that the merit system is useless there?

I never visit that section, not because of the spamming, just because I'm not interested in alts but it seems to me that having to gain some merits in order to be accepted into (bitcoin) signature campaigns supposes a barrier for spammers who either have to give up, or they have to make an effort in order to get merit.
6228  Economy / Economics / Re: Van Eck The Investment Case for Bitcoin on: December 25, 2020, 06:48:45 AM
This is good news for us, as it is another step in the normalization of bitcoin, and even more so for institutional investors, who are behind the recent rise in bitcoin prices and the recent new ATH. As Michael Saylor said, when the FOMO enters the institutional investors' minds, the price can go to the moon, and we haven't stopped seeing news lately that point in this direction.

Then there is another thing, the more standardized the use of bitcoin is among institutional investors, the more it will help adoption among the general public.
6229  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're almost half way to 100x (250k) on: December 25, 2020, 06:41:36 AM
Crazy bubble valuations aren't just a matter of demand, but of supply. People tend to focus on the inflows (demand) required to maintain certain BTC prices. What they don't think about is what happens to prices when the market collectively refuses to sell, and coins disappear from the ask side and from exchanges entirely. When everyone HODLs, there are significantly less coins for sale. That means it takes much less demand to push prices higher.

I was just thinking about that.

In recent pre-ATH times we saw two things:

1) Withdrawals of bitcoin from the exchanges.
2) Growing demand from institutional investors.

When people withdraw the bitcoin to their paper or hard wallet it is because they do not intend to trade with it, but to hold, and this reduces the offer. On the other hand, institutional investors don't buy 1 bitcoin or 0.1, they buy large amounts, making demand very high.

If this trend continues in the future, we may see prices that we now consider crazy, and even more so if we consider that institutional investors do not buy bitcoin to trade as individuals do.

Do you want to have paid posts, but don't think that when reviewing your work, the manager himself might not like some of your posts?

If he doesn't like them, he doesn't pay me for the posts and if he thinks someone is spamming, he kicks them out of the campaign, as it has already happened.

You were simply advised to pay attention to yourself and the quality of your posts.

And I locked the thread after hilarious advice but I unlocked it because this is not a matter of quality or at least not just a matter of quality.

if the moderators delete your posts, then they agree, right?

I don't mind the moderator deleting my posts. I mind the pussy-moron constantly looking at my history to see if he can report something.

However, why does the moderator delete my post when I give thanks to the campaign owner and doesn't delete the other similar posts in that thread and other campaign threads? Well, one reason for sure is because there isn't a moron reporting those posts.

Btw, I gave two people negative trust. I hope the moron is not one of them. I'd like to think that moderators would take that into account when dealing with reports.

Chill OP, it happens to us from time to time. Even during my moments in signature campaigns, I had mine deleted and at one time, suspended over a months-old post and wasn't even informed where it came from.

WTF? What happened?

If that person has the time to sift through your posts, you have a devoted fan Grin

LOL
6231  Other / Meta / Re: WTF? Why was this deleted? on: December 23, 2020, 09:27:11 PM
It's probably not personal. Sometimes people maliciously use the system to report on users they don't like, but there's a lot more people who just come across a post they perceive to be low quality then go through that users post history reporting any more posts they see so this sometimes leads to individuals feeling like they're being targeted, especially when a lot of posts get removed at once. The user who is reporting you is one that tends to go on a lot of reporting sprees on unsubstantial posters so it's probably not a personal attack. The only thing I can suggest is to put a bit more thought ands effort into your posts to make the chance of this happening less likely.

Hey, thank you for your constructive comment but I'm going to quote what I've just wrote:

Thank you for payment lightlord.

Happy new year everybody!

Thank you lightlord. Thank you also to our manager CryptopreneurBrainBoss. Merry Christmas and Happy new year guys.

I just got a message deleted, very similar to these two, and quite normal in these signature campaign threads, because a fucking moron keeps reporting my messages and a moderator keeps deleting them.

So, thank you Lightlord for the payment!

So the fucking moron keeps looking at my post history and keeps reporting my messages because it seems that it's a problem for this forum that, among the 400 posts I've written, there are 4 supposedly low-quality ones.

This is not a matter of me being a low-quality poster. It is a matter of moron constantly looking at my post history to see if he finds low-quality posts that should be deleted.

Him reporting my posts and a moderator deleting them it's just a waste of time.

Hey, you! Yes, you! I know you are reading me: you are a moron and a coward.

Come to this thread and explain why you keep reporting my posts, moron, if you have the balls.

6233  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Will ledger go bankrupt? on: December 23, 2020, 03:31:50 PM
First of all, I have to say that I have been doubting where to open this post, whether in this section or in the speculation section. Feel free to report it to be moved or just tell me if you think it will be better placed in another section.

I've been thinking that after the Ledger fuck-up they must have seen their sales go down a lot. It's a question of reputation. Whoever buys a hardware wallet, what they want is privacy and security. Losing "approximately 272,000 detailed information such as postal address, last name, first name and telephone number"  has made many people not to trust Ledger any more. It's not just that some mobsters may come to visit you at home, it's also that that information is available to your government as well.

So, I'm wondering how deep this will affect Ledger's business, if they will end up bankrupt or not. For sure they are going to lose a lot of sales.

I am undecided. As far as I'm concerned, let them go to hell. On the other hand I think the Ledger-Trezor competition is good but if Ledger goes bankrupt another company may take its place.

What do you think about it?
6234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 23, 2020, 04:23:42 AM
You get used to the good stuff too soon. After the inicial excitement, I now find it pretty boring being sideways for a while at $22-24k levels.

I see myself yawning in the future because we are sideways at around $100k.
6235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin gave a 230% returns in 2020: will the rally continue? on: December 23, 2020, 03:57:52 AM
Everything indicates that this will be the case, although in the world of investments nothing is certain. Following what happened after the previous halvings, it is easy that next year it will continue to rise and test the 100k or more. Although past cycles do not have to be repeated.

Most of the analyses I see of the bitcoin go in this direction.

What I am clear about is that in the long term, bitcoin will continue to rise due to the increase in demand, its deflationary nature and the massive printing of fiat money.
6236  Other / Meta / Re: Ledger database leak --> Phishing on: December 22, 2020, 04:06:49 PM
I could see the data and I'm happy that my personal details are not in the documents leaked. Maybe because I bought the Ledger a few years back? My email is there but I already knew that. Also, I don't hold a lot of bitcoin but I would feel uneasy if I knew my full name and address had been leaked.

It probably depends on whether you asked them to store your details or not. The hack happened in June 2020, and they said 1 million email addresses were leaked but only 10k users personal details were included (addresses, phone numbers etc).

I probably asked them not to. Anyway, I just sent them a ticket through support asking them to remove my email address and any data they have on my from their database.

Does anyone know if they are obliged by law? In some countries there is such a law whereby if I ask private company to remove any data they have on me, they have to remove it.

I know that the leak has happened already but I'm quite pissed of with them. I think ledger live is ****. You can't sign messages with it, for example.

If there are news about ledger that concern me I will know through the forum or other sources.

I think I'm going to call Lightlord the Mystery Man, because we know we're going to get paid, but we don't know when.

I was thinking that we would get paid this week. Does he owe us six weeks already? I've lost count.

But I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get paid this week and he doesn't say anything, given what I've seen.
6238  Other / Meta / Re: WTF? Why was this deleted? on: December 22, 2020, 05:10:25 AM
*snip*

Really, don't overthink it. It's not like someone would gain something significant from getting some random forum user's posts getting deleted. People report posts that they deem as low quality. That's it. Some people just has far higher quality standards as you and I have.

Yeah, you are both probably right.

However, I'll leave this post open just in case more posts keep getting deleted and also to see if a moderator wants to add something.

6239  Other / Meta / Re: WTF? Why was this deleted? on: December 21, 2020, 09:51:41 PM
Well, I'm beginning to think that someone is picking on me.

I remember a post similar to this one, opened by a member who participated in the same campaign as me, bitvest.io, and who complained that many of his posts had been deleted. He got angry and eventually left the campaign.

I just found two more deleted messages.

I really don't understand why this one was deleted:

IMO this can't be compared. This is what I called being result-oriented only.

The whole crypto industry is more stable now. In 2017, if you see a total daily volume of 20B you would be - wow, that's enormous! Now when I see 100B daily volume - meh, what a weak day...

Yeah, well. Many models actually make similar predictions. It's clear that the future doesn't have to repeat the past and even clearer that it's not going to repeat it exactly but most of the predictions I see for 2021 are somehow similar to what happened in 2017, so I think it can be compared. And many predictions do.

I was replying to a post that hasn't got deleted.

And then this one. I could understand up to a point that someone has seen it as low-value because it is a one-liner. But not all one-liners are crap and I've sometimes been merited for very short posts. I think it was relevant because we were talking about a guy who is not in the campaign and was spreading FUD:

I've just put him on ignore.

I wasn't paid for that post and I don't care. I sometimes write what I think and that's it.

I think some people are taking a too tough line when reporting and also when deleting posts. I already said that in similar posts like this one created by other forum members.
