6021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IF you saw this candle stick chart would buy sell or hold? on: February 07, 2021, 04:55:09 AM
The best strategy is to keep buying (DCA) no matter what candles or anything suggest. If you think you have enough bitcoin already just hold. You can sell partially when it reaches some milestones.

~snip

Normally these types of promotions try to build customer loyalty by giving them supposed benefits that often are not such. I am not saying that this is specifically so in this case or not, I leave the mathematics to you and others, because as I said above I am not a gambler.

I think that the success of the promotion will depend a lot on how the price of the token evolves, which, btw, has cooled off quite a bit after the initial jump.
6023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Interest earning on: February 06, 2021, 05:12:19 AM
I would add to the list: https://freebitco.in/

I also agree: not your keys, not your bitcoin. You can try to earn interest with a part of your holdings but I would never put all in there. Bitcoin is a good enough investment not to need extra interest. Just buy and hold and if you can only buy small amounts, keep dollar cost averaging. It will be profitable enough and you won't need to rely on some site's extra interest to become wealthi(er).
6024  Economy / Trading Discussion / "Trading Bitcoin is a sign of a lesser intellect" .-Michael Saylor on: February 04, 2021, 07:02:16 PM
He says it in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI6FW33KnDs

Well, we already know that Michael Saylor likes to make headlines, but I think he is giving a lot of free publicity to Bitcoin and that's good.

As for what he says, I wouldn't have put it that way, but I think he is right. Let's look back, the price of Bitcoin has grown over the last 12 years from a few cents to almost $40k today. Was it really worth trading when it was at $0.10? What about when it was over $1? What about at $10? Etc.

Now let's look to the future. If you are one of those who believe that bitcoin will hit $100k this year, that it will probably hit $1 million in the next cycle, and that the cycle after that will go even further, don't trade. You will be wasting your time, and most likely your money.

Of course there will have been, and will continue to be, people who can make money trading. But what percentage are we talking about? Between 80 and 90% of traders in the stock market lose money, and I am sure that this percentage is the same in the crypto world or maybe even higher.

Bitcoin has been giving a return of 200% per year (average) so far. If it continues to give that return, you just have to invest $1k and wait 6.3 years to become a millionaire. I don't know what you expect to get out of trading but I can't think of a better return for doing nothing.

6025  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 04, 2021, 06:41:31 PM
You can use Youtube vanced for free.

I'm older, retired, and anything I do online is in front of a computer screen.

My phone barely ever gets used, sits on a nightstand away from me pretty much all day long. I rarely if ever surf on it...

It can be run on a PC but only for Windows.
6026  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 04, 2021, 05:49:28 PM

Pay to remove ads? Fuck that, I'd rather be pissed.

That's exactly what's wrong with world today.

"Lets force bullshit content that they don't want and never asked for down their throats, then force them to pay hard earned money to remove it."

That's some next level mafia extortion shit right there.

Btw, when I'm in a good mood, the ads actually amuse me...I like to see what the dumb public falls for.

Yeah well, you'd rather be pissed anyway. I don't know if you missed or consciously ignored the second part of what I said.

You can use Youtube vanced for free.
6027  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 04, 2021, 05:31:02 PM
Man am I in a pissy mood today.

You know what really pisses me off? It's those fkn adverts that autorun at the beginning of every YouTube channel these days.

You know the ones.

Hunky dude: "Cardio burns fat. No! Cardio burns calories that... blah blah blah"

Old bearded man: "Jeff Bezos just invested millions in a tiny biotech company blah blah blah..."

Ugh. Balghlaalahfahgh.

Just pay the premium or you can use Youtube vanced. You have low-cost and free options not to see ads. And not to get pissed off.
6028  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 04, 2021, 02:52:38 AM
...

OK, I'm as happy as the next camper to see today's BTC pump.  But, I have not seen an explanation for why.

So what's behind todays little pump-thing?

It is simply that demand exceeds supply. This is what has been happening since we started going up and passed $20k. There is brutal demand from institutional investors. The recent drop was because F2 mining pool (F2pool) has been selling a lot, they are the biggest pool, but I guess they have stopped/reduced sales volume and the price has gone back up.
6029  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami Mayor Will Allow Employee salaries in Bitcoin on: February 03, 2021, 04:15:59 PM
I agree with my colleagues that the news is positive. It would remain to be known if the municipality will pay them directly in Bitcoin or will do it with some fiat to bitcoin conversion. I suspect it will be the latter, at least temporarily, although they also want to collect fees in Bitcoin.

In any case this is going to help a lot mass adoption.
6030  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Health is wealth and shouldn't be politicised! on: February 03, 2021, 04:07:09 PM
The problem is that wealth is also health. Without any wealth you can starve to death. And the other problem, which many of us criticize, is that the epidemic (yes, epidemic) has led to drastic measures such as confinements for the entire population, when it affects mostly people who do not work. I believe that the main restriction measures should have been taken with the elderly and people with risk factors.

This is not a pandemic like the Black Death where people suddenly dropped dead in the street and killed 40-70% of the European population. The overall mortality from coronavirus is less than 1%, and if you are under 50 with no risk factors it is ridiculous. So, actually I think you are right that it shouldn't be politicized, but that's why the restrictions should be reduced to the at-risk population, and the rest should just go about their normal lives.

We have to change the habit of writing carelessly and making spelling mistakes everywhere. Otherwise you may end up on some people's ignore list, like mine.
6032  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How religion became a thing for the poor on: February 03, 2021, 03:57:50 PM
Interesting read.

I don't believe myself but I respect people who do a lot.

When you speak of the increasingly wealthy pastor, you have reminded me of the Protestant reformation, which was partially a matter of money. A rebellion against the opulence of the Papacy and its entire church. You seem to imply that the church today is a system that keeps the poor dumbed down without progress or rebellion, waiting for a miracle. That is not new, especially in the Middle Ages the church exercised brutal subjugation, lecturing people that they had to suffer in this life because God would reward them in the next. As a consequence, they did not rebel against the nobles or the church itself, despite the fact that they kept them in semi-slavery through hardship and laws such as the Droit du seigneur ('lord's right'), to deflower the girls of the plebeians when they reached adolescence or to have sex with the bride on the night of the wedding.

Ok. My mistake. I don't know where I read 11 million. I suppose I confused billions with millions. If there are so many that's fine, then. I've already bought some tokens. And I've also got the cashback already.

Good luck all!

EDITED: I was wrong in what I said in the first part of the message and I've deleted it to avoid still being quoted.

I think they are a good investment and that they will go up in price.

hello freebitco.in team. i am correct to guess that the new bonus from fun token is not credited yet? also the page does not reload auto. i see a huge reward on the page but not on balance

Yes I'm also wondering.

------------------------
My FUN tokens: 500
BTC profit: 0.00002337
Profit percent: +4.67%
-----------------------
What is this BTC profit?
I didn't see this profit im my freebitco.in balance yet?

Is this daily profit, or montly profit?
Can I recieve this profit every day to my account balance or only once a month?
Or something different??  Huh

I take it that reflects the variation in price since you bought the tokens. It's the profit you would get in BTC if you sold now.

The current CoinMarketCap ranking is #97, with a market cap of $243 324 877 USD. It has a circulating supply of 6 548 879 189 FUN coins and the MAX SUPPLY IS NOT AVAILLABLE!. and total supply is 11 bilion? can we get a confirmation on that. it is kind of important metric

Yes, I'd like to know about that. There isn't much info online. Total supply is 11 billion but it is important to know if more tokens can be created.
6036  Economy / Speculation / Re: At long term — Could 1 sat equals 1 USD? on: February 01, 2021, 03:09:52 PM
Yeah, well, it might, who knows? But in 10-20 years it seems soon for me. That would be $100 million per bitcoin and the craziest prediction I have seen is the one from Michael Saylor: Michael Saylor goes nuts: he predicts a $15 million Bitcoin price.

I think it is more likely that we'll see 1 sat= 1 cent ($0,01).

If 1 sat= $1 by that time many things will have changed and the purchase value of the dollar will be much lower.
6037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't be surprise to see price of btc drop this week on: February 01, 2021, 03:06:46 PM
well if we observe the value of BTC over 5 years we can see that
  • Dec 2017 - $19,650 highest in year and then in 2018 Jan value dropped to $8K
  • Jan2018-$3.8K
  • Dec 2019 - $7000 and the increased to $8.4K in Jan2020
  • Dec 2020 -$32000 and then went to ATH $40grands and the again back to $33000

one can easily understand the pattern here .

The problem is that numerical patters can be followed with infinite sequences, so we cannot conclude anything.

I hope the OP puts his money where his mouth is and bets short against bitcoin. For my part, I am not too concerned as I am going long.

What do you guys think of these new tokens?

I am going to buy because I expect them to go up in price, not so much for the benefits because I'm not a gambler but I think the most likely scenario is than in, let's say a year, their price will be much higher than now.
6039  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you don't need to think of ranking up? on: January 31, 2021, 03:21:53 PM
I would say it's OK that you want to rank up.

They can think of ranking up. I myself think of ranking up. The problem is that the only thing that interests those newbies in this forum is to rank up and make money. Therefore, they write crap, don't get merits and don't rank up. It isn't surprising is it?

6040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: e-gold founder Douglas Jackson: His view on Bitcoin in 10 years on: January 31, 2021, 03:16:20 PM
Maybe he's trying to buy cheap and says those things to drive demand down. He wouldn't be the first.

Now seriously. It's probably jealousy, as the fellows have commented. There are times when emotions make you look like an idiot.
