5721  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Books on Libertarianism Everyone Must Be Forced to Read on: March 24, 2021, 07:43:14 AM
I do not believe that anyone should be forced to do anything. With few exceptions. But certainly no one should be forced to read books. Those you mention are good books, but we seem to be in an age that ignores what they wrote, where most of the world is turning towards a covert social communism within the market economy.
5722  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you miss Trump? on: March 24, 2021, 07:34:04 AM
I personally miss Donald Trump who to me is a fantastic president regardless of what the left and the mainstream media talk about him. Trump made the presidency entertaining. Do you miss him? Tell us what you like or hate about him.

Not really. In general, I do not miss any politician. However, I prefer his policies to Biden's (also in general) even though I think his manners left much to be desired. But, yeah, he was entertaining. We had a reality show USA president.
5723  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Is Signature Campaign dead? on: March 24, 2021, 05:57:05 AM
From what it seems the OP is referring to the altcoins section, which bounties no longer offer signature campaigns. I don't know about that because I hardly ever visit that section. But as far as I can see, the signature campaigns that are paid in Bitcoin and advertised in the Services section are alive and well. The only thing is that as Paxmao says, they have quality requirements.

Actually, seeing thar OP hasn't earned any merit, I'm not surprised that he complains.
5724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nicole wants to give up her taxi in exchange for bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 05:53:27 AM
Assuming that the story told by the OP is true, I don't believe everything I read on the forums, what I see is that this is typical of people with the mentality of hitting the big time. It is much better and less risky to gradually buy what you can save, with DCA. I believe that Bitcoin will continue to be the most profitable asset for years to come, but I think that person is playing roulette.

5725  Economy / Economics / Re: America stimulus support add strength to the dollar as investment increase on: March 23, 2021, 04:05:11 PM
Feast today, famine tomorrow.

Something weird is going on with that. It's not normal that they won't stop printing massively and the dollar is strengthening, though I guess it's due to 1) Pure short-term fluctuation/variability 2) Other currencies are printing a lot more. Let's not forget what's going on with the Turkish lira lately.
5726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Gold is government assest,Bitcoin is all yours." A Comparison between them. on: March 23, 2021, 03:43:44 PM
I am surprised after a few comments I am going to be the first one to disagree with what OP says because he bases his reasoning in a false analogy:

There is always a comparison among Bitcoin and Gold investment in the market but we are ignoring the fact that gold is centralized assest but Bitcoin is decentalized source of investment backed up by Secure network of miners always.

That comparison is wrong. Both are decentralized.

The government has full control over your gold investment and any time they can ask you to deposit it with them or even put a limit to gold holdings with individuals which is another concern but still you can't speak being residents of democratic countries. But Bitcoin provides your freedom to enjoy your funds according to your own wish without any centeral authorities intervention because of its decentralized nature and moreover it's network is always secured by the miners.

That's again wrong. Gold is as decentralized as Bitcoin. The value of Gold doesn't come from a Central Bank, unlike in the case of the value of USD, which comes from the FED and the US government. Gold is valuable because people believe it's valuable, the same as Bitcoin, they don't need a Central Bank or a Government saying that they are valuable.

Other than that, the government can confiscate your Bitcoin just like they can confiscate your Gold if they make an executive order for Bitcoin like they did in 1933. Is it a little harder to confiscate it? Yes, but it is similar. If such an order were passed, all Bitcoin from centralized exchanges would be confiscated by the government, and in the case of people who keep Bitcoins in hard wallets it would be more difficult but just as it was difficult to confiscate gold from someone who had a little bit of it hidden at home.

You can use Bitcoin as both investment assest and to make payments to other people by making transactions with very nominal fees over the blockchain.

This is also false. Gold is both an investment asset and you can use it to make payments. It's not so usual nowadays, but you can, and it has been widely used to make payments throughout History.

So why are we making such comparisons?

Why are you?

We need to understand the importance of Bitcoin in regards to other financial assest as Bitcoin is only decentralised currency that can provide you freedom from these traditional monetary system and make you king of your own money.Invest in your future.

Bitcoin nowadays is not a currency and it's not the only decentralized asset, as I have shown.
5727  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Impact of US dollar on Bitcoin on: March 23, 2021, 12:48:09 PM
Yes, of course, it is clear that it affects in the short term, just as it affects in the short term if the stock markets rise. But in the long term what matters most is massive fiat printing, 0% rates and limited supply of Bitcoin. In the long term it can only go up.
5728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: bsctalkforum can be compared to this forum on: March 23, 2021, 12:45:34 PM
They may or not but this forum has the advantage of being the largest, the best known, and the oldest, founded by Satoshi. It is like Coca-Cola, it has the power of the brand. Others will try to compete with it, but they will have a hard time.

Nowadays that forum has virtually no traffic.
5729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Strategies best used to play plinko game on: March 23, 2021, 12:42:57 PM

My question is, is there any best strategies a gambler can use to let a ball land on high multiplier in plinko game?

No.

Clarify me also if plinko is a game of luck. Thanks in advance.

It's not either.

What is usually called luck in this type of games is reduced to mathematical certainty. There is an unpredictability of outcomes in the short term, but a predictability of outcomes in the long term. I have explained about this in other posts, if you want to know more learn about the concepts of Mathematical Expectation and House Edge as well as statistics applied to gambling in general..
5730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being unpredictable on: March 23, 2021, 12:38:29 PM
I think it is much easier to give away tells when playing online then when playing offline.

That surprises me. Actually I think it's the other way around and I haven't found people who say what you say. Online you can also see tells, but at the end of the day you play with a screen. Live you see the person, their face, their body, their moves, how they pick up cards and chips. For me it is clear that it is easier to see tells when playing in land-based casinos.
5731  Other / Serious discussion / Re: This is why we have to keep cash on: March 23, 2021, 12:26:50 PM
It would be a natural thing if one had a cash stash of my own would do the same because it could be for urgent purposes but in modern times like today maybe credit CARDS are the best solution for everyone because it's more practical and easier to be safe from no crime and probably cash is also important because it's not all on credit CARDS or coin crypto because there's still a lot of people who don't have a account At the bank for other small things I still use cash and I think in my country if it applies payment in all things with credit CARDS I think it's still too hard to make that up because the need for life is so much cash as possible. This is what makes us have the cash we need to prepare

If you change "credit" to "debit", I can agree with you, because at the end of the day debit cards are a form of cash, electronic of course, and that implies less friction when it comes to spending. In today's increasingly cashless society, debit cards are the least bad alternative. Credit cards are a much poorer alternative because they involve less friction when it comes to spending and many people end up getting into too much debt and paying a lot of interest for using them.

5732  Economy / Economics / Re: OpenAI: Artificial Intelligence will generate wealth to pay each adult $13,500yr on: March 23, 2021, 12:22:28 PM
This dream is not new. A future world where we work less and live better thanks to machines, and, in this case AI. Today we live better than we did 50, 100 and 1000 years ago, but we don't stop working, at least most of us. I hope this is the case, but I have my doubts. It would be ideal a future where working is not an obligation and people do what they like, being the rest of productive jobs carried out by machines.
5733  Economy / Economics / Re: Over the Past 300 Years, No Fiat Money Has Escaped Going to 0 on: March 23, 2021, 12:07:13 PM
Aren't you forgetting about the British Pound? It lost a lot of value over the year but I don't think it ever went to 0.

Even if we changed it to 99% of fiat money crashes every 300 years, does it mean we have to wait for it to happen? The Lira is dying as we speak but it won't make people lose everything if they get rid of it and invest.

So 1720 the pound had a value of above zero

2021 the pound has a value of above zero.

So topic title is false.

Maybe switzerland 🇨🇭 has also done it.

Not sure about any other place.

Maybe not the swiss. looks like the swiss franc dates to 1798.

Usd dates to maybe 1781 not 1776.

but the pound certainly makes title wrong.

Yeah well, strictly speaking it is indeed false. However a pound was worth one pound of silver 300 years ago. Nowadays you only get 0.05 ounces or 0.003125 pounds, which means it has lost more than 99% of its initial value.
5734  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reasons why Bitcoin price drops recently on: March 23, 2021, 11:59:48 AM
I agree with the previous opinions that this is normal. Just a minor setback that was to be expected. For those of us who invest for the long term, all this does is yawn.
5735  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I coded a bot that buys bitcoin every time Elon Musk tweets about bitcoin and op on: March 22, 2021, 03:11:09 PM
Although I appreciate the effort and time you may have put into it, I believe that with buy & hold you will have more than enough profitability. The bitcoin has been the most profitable asset of the last decade and everything looks like it will be the most profitable of the next decade, outperforming by far any other asset. Strategies to supposedly get an even higher return seems like a waste of time to me.
5736  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: March 22, 2021, 03:05:27 PM
In general, I vote against using my deleted posts archive as evidence for plagiarism:

I scrape posts within seconds, before any editing. I too make mistakes quoting once in a while, and if the user edits it later, my archive is outdated.
If the user corrected their own plagiarism, I don't think it should still be punished.
If the user deleted their own post, that also resolves the plagiarism.

It is good to know for next time but that user confessed:

Please Don't do anything. So I can banned. Please I am a bounty hunter so I bought Merit for Earning not for any other purpose. please don't Report me .
Please.
I hope you understand my feeling.

I only copied my first 3 posts which were deleted. Because I was newbie i did not know what have I to post for merit. That's why I copied from site. But Now I understood What I have to write So you can now see my all Posts are not copied from anywhere all are Written by me.

5737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I apologise from you alll on: March 22, 2021, 03:00:46 PM
For those of you who don't know yet, I caught the OP in his more than questionable behavior and exposed him on meta:

Can someone check if there is something wrong with this?

I decided to lock the thread after @fortune1002 begger for forgiveness multiple times and kept telling the DTs who had red tagged him to take it off. As I saw that there was no point in continuing with that thread and that it had already served its purpose, I closed it.

But although deep down I feel a little sorry for him, it is clear that he has not yet assumed the consequences of his actions.

5738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Mar 2021] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: March 21, 2021, 06:46:42 PM
... In the past weeks, I've seen fees rise a lot. Last Sunday, it reached as low as 7 sat/byte. My expectation for tomorrow is around the same.

...
Electrum's recommendation is currently 159.3 sat/byte for a next-block confirmation and 55.8 sat/byte to confirm with 25 blocks. That's rediculous, there's no need to waste this much money on fees.

Hi LoyceV, thank you very much for this post. Today I wanted to send a small transaction and I was on the verge of not sending it because if I sent the high fee, the commission would be more expensive than the transaction itself. If I sent the standard fee, the transaction cost me the same as the commission, i.e. twice as much. If I put the low fee a little less but almost the same. I searched the forum and found this post, I tried with 10 sat/vb, which was about 2% of fees, that is much cheaper, and in about 12 minutes I had three confirmations. I will keep this thread in my whatchlist and reread it because I am a noob in this transaction stuff.

Edit: I've just tried now 5 sat/vb with the address I had with the lowest amount, like 5/6$, I think this thread is going to be useful for me.

To be honest, I feel a little sorry for you but what has happened here is that you have chosen the fast way, cheating. Once I discovered this and brought it to the attention of the community, there is nothing more I can do. It is up to the moderators to ban you and to the DT members to give you negative trust.
5740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers always hunt for the greedy ones on: March 21, 2021, 01:48:19 PM
I would not agree that scammers are looking exclusively for those who are greedy, for them even better target are those who have no idea what they are actually doing. A person who has invested in cryptocurrencies and does not know what a public/private key is, or how important it is to keep a private key/seed just for their eyes will very often fall victim to those who offer quick overnight earnings - in the way "send me your seed and I will send you twice as much BTC than you have in 2 days".

Given that knowledge of cryptocurrencies is still quite modest among people in general, scammers actually enjoy making a profit in a very easy way. Of course, I feel sorry for all those who have been scammed, but the first rule before investing your money in something is to learn as much as possible about it - study, be careful and do not trust strangers who contact you online.
I totally disagree, there are some scam tricks that works on people that don't actually know what they are doing but this very one that OP is talking about is pointing to the greedy ones, it's 100% clear that sellers want to sell coins that are sold everywhere for 1$ at 2$ or more, this is complete greediness

Actually, some classical scams are like that, based on greed. They require you to pay a sum with the promise that you will get much more. Online scams are just a normal evolution of this.
