6261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / A question about transactions on: December 16, 2020, 09:15:50 PM
I've been holding for some years but I've only sent a couple of transactions before today, so sorry in advance if this question is too basic.

With the ATH today I decided to make a small purchase and sent the transaction using Ledger nano. I chose the standard fee as I wasn't in a hurry. As you may well know I could have chose higher fees for higher speed and lower fees as well.

I've sent it 7 hours ago and I see it has not even 1 confirmation yet. Is that normal?

I see in blockchain.com that transaction fees are 28.9 satoshy per byte.

I am wondering if this is normal or maybe because of the ATH people are spending more and the mempool is full so transactions get delayed.

6262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 16, 2020, 02:13:50 PM
$20,645

We are breaking ATH every moment.
6263  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 16, 2020, 01:56:03 PM
$ 20,370.65

I think we'll get easily to 22-23k before falling a bit again.

6264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Congrats to everyone for reaching $20k again. on: December 16, 2020, 01:48:56 PM
Bump!

$2,250 @ bitstamp right now.

Note for moderators: I think it is pretty clear that I'm not breaking unofficial rule nº 21. This thread was created precisely to be bumped in a day like today.
6265  Other / Off-topic / Re: I have learn my lesson here about people on: December 15, 2020, 08:28:18 PM
Lesson learned you can not explain to unexperinced person nothing.
Consider for a moment what others here probably perceive you as:  a random internet noob.  And one that can't write English properly at that; so why do you think anyone here even cares what you think, much less takes it to heart?

To me, you're not just a noob but one who's constantly starting threads about blah blah blah, likely trying to earn merits instead of writing anything of interest.  So just stop it.  Do more reading, less blah blah blah.

Not only that. I have him on ignore but I recently realized that just a week after I registered I left negative trust on his profile, but I'm not DT so I think it's not easily seen.

LOL. I've just realized that he's left me both positive and negative trust.

6266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you want to be a technical analyst yourself? on: December 15, 2020, 08:21:41 PM
I stop reading books after I finished to study the basic of trading such as using of Indicators and reading patterns. This tons of knowledge in trading is useless if you don't a good strategy no matter how many books you read. The more you read, the more complicated your trading it will get especially when you apply it in crypto trading.

It's hard to apply the traditional trading principle to a market that can be easily manipulated by news and hype.

That's why I just invest long term.

I follow traders out of curiosity and entertainment, but no matter how complicated their analysis, or their candlestick charts, fail constantly.

I am sure that many of the most famous ones earn more selling books and courses than they do from trading.
6267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think that the price of bitcoin is going to exceed 20,000$? on: December 15, 2020, 08:17:56 PM
At this very moment, everyone is discussing how the price of bitcoin is going to exceed 20,000$ within this month. But by analysing both current and previous situations, my personal opinion is it's not possible for now. What is your thinking regarding this situation?

Is your opinion based on anything at all?

Because you say that you have allegedly done an analysis but have not shared with us any of the analysis you do.

My opinion is that I don't know if the bitcoin will be over $20,000 tomorrow or in a month's time but in 5 years, let's say, it will be much higher than that.

What the hell are these guys doing?

Writing posts and just saying that they have to be deleted?

Is that normal?

Shouldn't we report that?

PS: ah, ok they probably applied for this campaign and then applied for another one they prefer instead but they cannot delete the post.

You can delete this one as well.

The payments on this campaign are made since a few months ago once at four weeks. Practically you will receive four payments in the same day for the previous weeks. Don't worry, lightlod did not forget and all the payments were always sent. Sometimes payments were made after 3 weeks, but mostly after 4 weeks.

Considering this is the fourth week since the last payment, I think that next week we'll be paid for these last four weeks. No worries Smiley

Spreadsheet for round 102 has been turned in to lightlord for payment. All outstanding payouts will be made this week.

Hey,

Has anyone received payment? I think Lightlord forgot about us. LOL!

I don't think so actually I was hoping that Lightlord delay the payment and include this current week to our payout, there's holiday coming and we all need all the money that we can get and Lightlord knows this, you just trust the campaign this campaign has been running for a long time.

Yes, I trust this campaign. I was laughing because I think Lightlord just forgot, I suppose he is a busy businessman. I know that he usually includes a bonus when payments are delayed.

I don't actually need the money, in my case it's just pennies, it's just that it's nice to receive the payment.
6271  Other / Meta / Re: 10 years ago Satoshi made his last post on: December 13, 2020, 05:22:28 AM
Although this post of a little nostalgia, because it's been 10 years since we heard from him, I think Satoshi's story is positive.

That the identity of the creator of Bitcoin is unknown, that he disappeared 10 years ago, that he has $1 million of Bitcoin unused, are things that give him an aura of mystery that gives and will continue to give a lot of talk.

It's a legend.

I can imagine in 100 or 200 years, if Bitcoin succeeds as we hope, people will still be talking about the possible identity of Satoshi as they still talk about the possible identity of Jack the Ripper (despite the obvious distances between the two).

6273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Has Raised $650 Million Worth Of Convertible Bonds To Finance More on: December 12, 2020, 08:29:10 AM
Now all we need is that little by little more companies join what MS is doing. I suppose this is what will happen and it will raise the price both for the purchases of these companies and for the publicity it involves so that the masses will go from seeing bitcoin as something rare to seeing it as an asset of great value.
6274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Former Congressman Proposes Giving $1,500 Stimulus for COVID Vaccine" on: December 12, 2020, 08:22:26 AM
The whole situation reminds me of books like 1984 and Brave New World.

The conclusion I've reached is that the tough preventive measures, like lockdowns, should have been applied only to the elderly and people with risk factors. Come on! The mortality rate is less than 1%.
6275  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why does France never plan for the future? on: December 12, 2020, 08:17:21 AM
They are too busy striking  Grin

It is a country with a huge amount of bureaucracy. At first glance this may make it seem surprising that it is among the most important economies in the world but in my opinion it is because of the relationship it has with its former colonies, which some call françafrique.
6276  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best thing which I noticed of this forum. on: December 12, 2020, 08:09:42 AM
I don't know if I'm the only one thinking this but what OP says sounds to me like flattery to high ranked members to see if he can fish some merit. Nice try OP. At least you are not a shitposter. I have seen your post history and it seems that you will make good use of the forum.
6277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin failed? on: December 11, 2020, 02:51:09 PM
Has Bitcoin failed?

NO.

It's changed from the original vision of a P2P currency as to be the best store of value in the world although you can still pay with it.

Bitcoin is getting further and further away from the guy in the street, and is now some rich hedgefunds 1% elite plaything.

Not really, rich hedgefunds are getting into it but there are lots of us who hold bitcoin and there's plenty of room for the average Joe.

6279  Economy / Economics / Re: The volatility in the price of a bitcoin is falling over time on: December 11, 2020, 04:43:22 AM
It seems logical. The higher the market cap, the lower the volatility, because it takes a lot more money to vary the price. And in the future there will be even less volatility, as the price increases.
6280  Economy / Speculation / Re: When moon? ($500k / $1 million / $2 million) on: December 11, 2020, 04:36:38 AM
I'm not too worried about those figures as I prefer to enjoy the process.

I will enjoy quite a lot when we break 20k and keep breaking ATHs like 30k 40k so on.

Getting to $2 million in 20 years it's OK but maybe the year before the ATH is $1,9 million so the purchasing power won't be that different.

We have also to bear in mind that fiat currencies will keep depreciating and at fast pace it seems.

$2 million in 20 years maybe will be similar to $ 0.5 million today.
