541  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake MEW on Google Play on: July 03, 2020, 04:37:40 AM
Google needs to step up their shit. I used to frequently crap at Apple for their App Store being super restrictive and for their OS being a "walled garden", but I've recently been advocating for the usage of iPhones for non-tech literate friends and family due to crap like this.
Indeed, look! I can't even believe that the fake app got a perfect 5 star from 146 feedbacks Roll Eyes. And I think there are only two possible reasons for that: either the app perfectly copied the original or those 146 people are just paid to tell good reviews. Nonetheless, Play Store must act because what seems right now is that even them are not immune from malicious attacks. Such loopholes make me appreciate iOS more.
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers, the biggest crypto problem on: July 03, 2020, 03:02:47 AM
[snip]
Scammers are the bad side of this world, and cause of that people don't rely on each other. I'm sad about your bad experience, but l prefer to stay with several telegram groups. That is why l think most of them are scammed and their goal is just to fall people into their fraud. We must be careful about that.
It's not really a bad experience tho because he just being contacted and not fall on the trap, right? Grin Remember that as long as we stay wise and logical, scammers' deceiving approach will not affect us. I guess we can no longer eradicate them since it means erasing the evil in this world as well, so the least we can do is to adopt — stay away from them at all cost.
543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Lost $9,300, Bearish Re-test In Play? on: July 02, 2020, 11:10:04 AM
We are green today, but I don't see any FUD though, it's just that traders are cashing it out and waiting how the market will play. We are still above $9k, indication that we are neither bullish or bearish. We are in the boredom phase, Lol, unless there is break out run this July that will make the market very lively, so let's wait and see.
Same today, the price is now green but only did a small increase of .61% up to this moment. I am not feeling confident that it will continue but it was a good sign nonetheless Cheesy. I haven't heard FUDs as well so we are relieved so far, maybe we just let the whales do their part. But I'm believing that it will not exceed below $9k resistance. Besides, today is only the second day of July so let's chill. Let's wait for more couple of days if it brings blessing or bad omen.
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm new here,what is altcoin on: July 02, 2020, 07:19:16 AM
Basically speaking, the rest of cryptocurrency present in the market aside from Bitcoin are so called altcoins. Therefore, Ethereum is not different, it is an altcoin as well.
I know some people will react to this topic violently and some will respond with manner,
I am here to know what i don't know because I believe that knowledge is power and also the beginning of success.
Ill tempered members who are mad with so generic posts are existing so brace yourself lol. Anyway, next te try to search first since most of the fundamentals cam be googled easily. You're right! Knowledge is power and it is more rewarding if you discover it on your own, isn't it Smiley.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 02, 2020, 05:57:34 AM
Zion is a good player, and we all know he'd be a future hall of famer (If he keeps healthy), but the media is really hyping him up. There are actually a more deserving rookies and other young talents in that cover like Luka, Trae, or Morant.
I agree, I am not saying that Zion didn't deserve to be in a 2k cover but there are good youngsters who prove more than him thus more deserving. Luka is a better option, everyone already witnessed his magic (already a superstar despite of a very young age) and I think that's enough for him to get such privilege Cheesy. I am confused why they didn't pick him, hmm maybe he is less charismatic and less fierce than Zion?
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think players can play properly against a recovered Covid-19 opponent? on: July 02, 2020, 03:22:04 AM
If the player is a logical-type of person which more thinks rationally than emotionally then I might say that having a direct contact with a fully recovered covid 19 patient/opponent won't bother him at all.

Well, I don't blame those who want to play safe either since we don't yet have a strong defense against it but still hoping they can fix their mindset. The simple act of staying away from a recovered patient can leave a stigma. It is somehow considered a form of discrimination  (though not intentional) because it makes him feel that he is all alone. Let the compassion in our hearts win above all Smiley.
547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The term and word (free coins) is completely wrong on: July 02, 2020, 12:57:22 AM
For example, free bitcoin is one of the most famous taps sites that pay members a few of the Satoshi. Everyone says that this site is free, but frankly, this site is not free, because we can get some satellites, we need to bypass the captcha, so I want to say that the site gets profits from this CAPTCHA. [...]
Okay let's say you're right (I am not familiar on how faucets get their revenue lol) but actually everything makes sense for me. That's why I understand if those sites used the term "free" because you can really get free satoshis without putting money out from your own pocket. Few clicks never bothered them anyway hahaha. Besides, "free satoshis" is more effective and convincing slogan compare to "Get satoshi for clicking" etc. — that's how advertising works.
548  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware: FORSAGE another scheme (Ponzi) on: July 01, 2020, 10:55:44 PM
Yes Facebook is their ground for referring new people because they know that they cannot get referrals here in Bitcointalk and anyone promoting it here will get tagged
Nah, I bet most of them don't know this forum either Roll Eyes. I think most of them are bunch of people who just joined because of fast income but unaware of all the risks and even with regards to concept of cryptocurrency.

Update: I already sent him a PM and gave him warning politely but I'm seenzoned lol. I can no longer help him, it's his own choice.
549  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware: FORSAGE another scheme (Ponzi) on: July 01, 2020, 09:33:54 AM
FORSAGE is an online platform claiming to be based on smart contract and uses ethereum, this scheme (Ponzi) is growing in many places fooling/deceiving people. And like Ponzi schemes they ask you to
+ Make deposits of ethereum (on registration)
+ Refer 3 people -to make them look real they say this is not compulsory but later on you would find out that it was-
+ Grow in levels
+ Minimum amount of withdrawal/completing task before being eligible to do so.
+Proud themselves with what the real ethereum has achieved and give blind over ambitious price prediction for ethereum.
If you want to get money so badly just work for it, -just because a Ponzi scheme paid of someone doesn't make them less a Ponzi scheme- flee from Ponzi scheme
I'm so glad that I bumped into this thread. At least I prove to myself that I'm not the only one thinking that it was a scam (maybe not at the moment but in the future for sure).

Actually, my not so close friend of mine also use Forsage and currently posting proofs of payouts in FB. So I verify whether it is legit or not and yeah my gut feel is right — it was another ponzi scheme which seems Filipinos are never getting tired of. Hmm I guess his an early adopter that's why he can make payouts, too bad for him because he don't know the real situation. How ironic that he was a CpE graduate but seems not so knowledgeable regarding crypto scams tsk. Can you give me tips on how can I give him a warning without getting offended Cheesy?
550  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Memes! on: June 30, 2020, 11:02:45 AM
I saw a meme template in FB that goes viral recently. This is usually used to describe the "misery with happy ending" experiences in which everyone from our local community can relate (same as Peter Parker meme lol). So I tried to create one which of course related here, I hope this will make you smile Grin.

551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think eSport gambling will become more popular than normal Sport betting? on: June 30, 2020, 07:29:01 AM
Do you think in the future people will bet more on eSport than actual Sport events? Let's discuss.
Yeah! Coz why not? I mean, the eSports industry is now getting recognized, imagine that eSports  is now included in SEA games so I will not be surprised if it will be included in the Olympics soon. Besides, I nelieve that it also have a huge fan base because not only millennials are into this but also the young at heart.

I notice that betting only focuses on MOBA and FPS games but I'm optimistic that it will expand and consider PvP games such as Tekken and Mortal Kombat because these games are active on conducting tournaments as well Cheesy.
552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm a newbie on: June 30, 2020, 03:10:38 AM
Im also a newbie , how does all this work ?
Dude the links are already given by the other members in the previous posts, just read them one at a time and you're good to go Cheesy. If you find it confusing where you need to start them you can use Google. Try searching "What is bitcoin?" because that's most fundamental thing you need to know. If you are still not comfortable with it, visit CryptoDetail. Good luck for both of your journey guys. Welcome to the forum Smiley.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Bitcoin hits $ 100,000 after halving, Litecoin may be worth $ 3,000 based on on: June 29, 2020, 11:02:10 AM
Posting the link here for the sake of reference is good but copying and pasting the whole article here is not okay because it becomes redundant. I think much better if you tell your won insight instead Smiley.

But going back to the topic, tons of predictions will no loger sell to me. Why? Simple, they are full of uncertainties. The example I could bring is the article you gave which is published by April. The experts' prediction tell us that btc's price may exceed to $100k but look what date is today, it's the 29th of June already yet no huge spike happened. See?
554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For Old and New forum members on: June 29, 2020, 08:26:52 AM
To All Old Members on BTT

Members please always try as much as possible to help for fellow newbies, correct them so they won't get ban, give them hopes so they can have some courage left in them, I was once a shit poster until few high ranking members makes me change my ways, don't ignore newbies
I can proudly say that I do. I mean, let's say I'm more of the compassionate type of guy Grin. I am always willing to give the best answer I could offer for them, there are also instances that I warn them for doing the wrong way instead of reporting to the mods directly, I seldom use sarcastic reactions on obvious/absurd questions as well.

However, every newbie should understand that every single member here are not based in their ideals, they cannot please them all the time. They will encounter people here with various personalities thus they have no choice but to deal with it. The best advice I could give is don't be butthurt, keep patient, don't take things personal — get ready to learn the easy way or the hard way.
555  Other / Meta / Re: How about restricting low rank people from opening new topics on: June 29, 2020, 03:22:15 AM
How about those newbies who are conducting bounty programs? those who have a question regarding to the forum or crypto? Don`t make it a whole. We have different purposes why we are here.
I want to emphasize something but no offense dude, this is just my opinion Smiley.

There's no problem with those newbies who make thread to ask questions as long as it is not generic to the highest level (e.g. "what is bitcoin?", "who is satodhi?" etc.). But with regards to newbies who came here just to join bounties and do nothing except posting social media reports everyday? Nah I barely agree with that. I am not against to them or the bounty itself because I understand that advertising works that way, but honestly I find such act unhealthy. I can't help but to feel annoyed every time I bump into someone's history and see nothing but twitter and fb links tsk. What seems right now is that those members are like robots who just came here to work and not to learn. Sad but true Sad.

Nevertheless, I am still against on prohibiting newbies on creating topics because it compromises the freedom of speech. I guess the least we can do to maintain the cleanliness of our forum not only depends on our mods since we can also do something. Let's be more active on reporting useless posts.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 28, 2020, 01:17:43 PM
Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker was a great fight and the first two rounds Dan Hooker took the fight to Dustin Poirier and the second round was really awesome.
It was a great fight indeed. What a slug fest! The match was so close (very obvious with the score cards lol). Hooker got the first 2 rounds and I thought he will dominate all throughout the fight but the tables have turned. Porier take his revenge especially the 4th and 5th round (IMO). Some fans are saying that Hooker should be the winner but I barely agree because Porier is always on the offensive mode and got guillotine and arm bar attempts as well. Maybe the opposite happened if Hooker finished him on round 2 Cheesy.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Whats A Good Telegram To Join? on: June 28, 2020, 09:29:06 AM
Ain't it far better to be in a forum with veterans all over it than in a telegram group full of kids that are putting down each other?

I would stay here if I were you.
You will learn a lot if you could put your time into more reading.
I haven't even go to the section where everything is deep to understand but yet I still learned a lot.
Yup! That's right. @OP ~ I'm very confident that this forum got more experienced and trustworthy members which you can ask for help. In Telegram, you really can't verify users' credentials so you don't actually know whose got a bad intention or not. You are more prone from scams there. So if I were you, I'll stay here and ask your queries. I guarantee you that there are lots of member here who will be willing to help you Smiley. Plus, there are lots of topics you can found here, I'm sure you'll enjoy.

I got bad experiences in Telegram when I was a beginner, and I hope you won't experience the same thing that's why we are telling you this.
558  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism on: June 28, 2020, 06:06:37 AM
*sigh Another lazy newbie spotted Roll Eyes. He did a witty move in all fairness but thanks for you acting fast and courageous on raising a complaint. I also reported his plagiarized post so don't worry, he will get a red tag soon.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Memes Make the Bitcoin on: June 28, 2020, 04:55:41 AM
This meme fits when the bitcoin value hits $9k mark. The explanation of the meme is, Vegeta detects the power level of Goku using a scouter which is over 9000.
This is old but gold dude, one of my favorites. I first saw another of version of this meme during 2017's ATH. Nice and simple template but can be a timeless meme Grin. Though I'm not sure if all members can relate to it but for sure otakus or just those who know DBZ find this one really funny. Just a tip, next time let Vegeta's face and scouter exposed to make it more appealing hahaha.
Twitter is actually much more effective in finding memes bitcoin Twitter memes support Bitcoin and each of their companies will circulate.
Maybe but for me Reddit is the best source hahaha Wink.
560  Economy / Reputation / Re: Forum made Hero Member on: June 28, 2020, 03:18:26 AM
A little over four months ago I became a full member on the forum, and I now earned enough merits to become a Sr. Member, and I'm now a Hero member.
From Full Member to Hero Member within that short period of time!? So awesome Shocked. While in my case, becoming a senior member is already a hard objective to meet then what more for becoming a Hero lol (I'm a little bit jealous). I guess that was an unreachable star for me. But of course I will not stop until I make it, I might not be as intelligent as you but I never get tired of giving what I can offer to others. Now, I just depend on how Karma treats me back.

Nonetheless, congratulations to you and hoping you to keep on sharing knowledge which we can learn as well Smiley.
