NICE! First vote (aside from the OP)!

These stories are kind of dumb...the hotel room story sounds like someone got the fact wrong. And jumping the wrong suspect is awful...Cops need to do better than that, always. That's why we give them such control...because they can perform at the highest level (obviously the cop in this case can't do that.)

543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you continue to support r/bitcoin and bitcointalk.com on: September 15, 2015, 09:20:48 PM
I understand there is a lack of alternatives, and there is not a better place for up to date information.

But, in the light of Bitcoin and what it represents, neither of these platforms promote the same ideologies.

You answered your own question in your first sentence. And you're right that these platforms don't promote the same ideologies, they promoted all ideologies of the entire bitcoin community. Reddit doesn't have some stance on bitcoin, nor does Bitcointalk...they're infrastructure, not people.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: currency or investment? on: September 15, 2015, 05:38:45 AM
Does it matter?

Bitcoin needs adoption, lots of it. If someone wants to adopt it as a currency, great! If someone wants to adopt it as an investment, wonderful!

It's both right now, anyway, debating a future majority is futile (especially since if people don't adopt it there won't be a future to discuss.)
545  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate womens to use Bitcoin? on: September 15, 2015, 05:35:11 AM
Get a GYM membership, eat healthy, stay away from munchies&beer&coke. Stop excessive masturbating that ruins your body. Get a decent job with good salary.

Then, you ll be able to motivate "womens" for anything.

haha.

Maybe women (no 's' needed) better things to buy with Bitcoin. Or maybe the need more regular local stores to use bitcoin. Or maybe it needs to be easier to obtain a wallet.

More places to use it will motivate everyone to use it more.
546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why Bitcoin rate is flexible on: September 15, 2015, 05:02:09 AM
What is reason bitcoin rate varied everyday?

You should refer to it as the price or quote.

Supply and demand is all it is, pretty incredible that it can move so much based on the difference between sellers and buyers. One other factor to consider is the daily volume of bitcoins exchanging hands each day. If the volume is low a smaller order can influence the price more, and the opposite is true if the volume is high.

If you go to blockchain.info you'll see the trades going through that exchange, it's endless...lots of trades and a lot of big amount per trade (mixed in with the small amounts.)
547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: introduction on: September 15, 2015, 04:51:38 AM
Cock,

Welcome to the Forum. Welcome to Bitcoin (if you're also new to BTC). I hope you find a lot of information and education here...there's a lot of information and education to be gained.

One important part of this forum is the expectations of participants and posting. Rule #1 make your posts constructive. (Full stop)

There's some guidance offered by the mods here regarding introduction posts (such as yours), specifically "If you feel the need to post an introduction thread please take the effort to write something substantial or don't bother at all. Threads and post that contain only one word/sentence such as "hello & welcome to the forum" will be removed without warning as it causes clutter."

SO don't take offense when this thread disappears. And we look forward to your future posts, which I'm sure will be filled with valuable contributions!

Cheers.

548  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Vote] Who did 911? on: September 14, 2015, 11:32:18 PM
The major 9/11 conspiracy theories “depend on circumstantial evidence, facts without analysis or documentation, quotes taken out of context and the scattered testimony of traumatized eyewitnesses”, and enjoy continued popularity because “the idea that there is a malevolent controlling force orchestrating global events is, in a perverse way, comforting”. It concludes that “conspiracy theories are part of the process by which Americans deal with traumatic public events” and constitute “an American form of national mourning.”[236]

If you truthers believe the statement above to be false, list your reasons why 9/11 was a conspiracy (and not committed by bin Laden and Atta) here:

550  Other / Politics & Society / Re: University of California: The Right Not To Be Upset By The Speech Of Others. on: September 14, 2015, 11:22:13 PM
Can we get a TL:DR?

Universities, like businesses, are entitled to define the attitudes that are expressed and the discussions that are had as long as it doesn't discriminate against protected classes (i.e., race, age, etc.) If their students or customers don't like those attitudes or discussions they can go to a different university or business. University of California is not limiting people's rights, they're defining their culture.

No. 140 characters or less are for people who can't read or think. Everyone in this this forum can. Of course if one likes to form an opinion without reading anything... That's OK too...

Don't be an ass.

In the business world if you can't give someone the answer first they don't have the time to wait for the end of your story to find out. The reason most people on this forum don't respond to your rants is not because they're rants but because they're too damn long! This isn't novel writing, it's a forum thread - get to the point!

Ok...allow me 20 minutes to ready your position paper...

So your point, or question, is the bolded underlined section below?

When these students and faculty members are told that certain views about disabilities, about race or ethnicity, or (by obvious extension) about sexual orientation, sex, or religion have “no place at the University” — and violate others’ rights to be “free from” such “expressions” — will they feel free to openly discuss these topics? Or will they realize that they had best follow the orthodoxy?

My answer: Yes, they'll feel free to speak openly about these topics as long as their purpose of discussion is related to...

"...the course content, teaching methods, scholarship, or public commentary of an individual faculty member or the educational, political, artistic, or literary expression of students in classrooms and public forums that is protected by academic freedom or free speech principles.”

If students don't like these rules, or see them as stifling the education process, they can apply to and attend one of the other public or private schools in the country.

You say you're tenured faculty member - not at UC I presume otherwise you'd be sharing your concern with an audience that actually has a vested interest in the University of California policies (rather than a Bitcoin forum that has an audience that is largely international.) What's your faculty role?

I think a better question for you to ask yourself - if you hold so much contempt for these policies - is what are you doing to change what you think is an injustice or bad course of direction? What are you doing to affect change? What are you doing to cure "this cancer" as you call it?

I look forward to your thoughts, try to be concise.

You disappoint me (and of course your purpose here is to not disappoint me.) I thought you were producing something new, genuine for all of us to discuss? You're just copy and pasting something someone else wrote. Why do you waste our time with such things?

P.S. Conservatism has it's share of censorship. Both parties need to disappear, their purpose has passed its prime.

I shall never be disappointed by you. This how the flow of ideas roll. I told you it would have been wiser to read the article first. But you tl;dr'ed it.
Again, I never block my threads. You do not need to reply the second you see it up. Take your time. Play outside. Let life be. Then, come back and go like: "hmm.. Where was that thread that ass Wilikon wrote so I can tell how HIS rants are soooooo disappointingly long and boring... Oh Yeah! here it is... I'll make it concise..."

You took your time to not read then reply on my thread, instead of doing something else. I thank you.

 Smiley

Wil, read before you write. I was being saracastic, but I'm glad I don't disappoint you. More importantly, I didn't write "TL:DR", I defended some poster who did. Finally, I DID read the article before responding...see the part of my post where I write...

Ok...allow me 20 minutes to read your position paper...

Maybe I should shut up, you're doing such a good job killing your credibility on your own!
551  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Vote] Who did 911? on: September 14, 2015, 11:16:33 PM
Don't believe the hype. And never forget that Osama Bin Laden did this shit...

P.S. Why aren't you all talking about how the Bin Laden family owned the crane that crashed the mosque and killed 107 worshippers...on Sept. 11, 2015...of all days. This is something worthy of all your attention and chatter...http://en.dailypakistan.com.pk/world/bin-laden-family-from-911-attacks-to-makkah-crane-crash/

Nice insertion of USA propaganda....never forget!!11

It's not propaganda when it's created, spread, and believed in by the people. I promise you...it's not government propaganda.

All the opinions on this thread - I'd love to know how many come from Americans vs. non-Americans...that fact might be very telling.

They're ensuring themselves that they will continue to churn-out nothing but blind and mindless, indoctrinated and brainwashed zombies.

Reminds me of the old Pink Floyd song. "Welcome to the machine..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lt-udg9zQSE

Yeah, because that'll help their all important ranking in the various publications that rank students and generate high interest from future students.

You conspiracy theory guys and gals are dime a dozen, that's literally how much value your comments are - zero insight, just regurgitating someone else's article with some a long link to a very weak conclusion.

It's ironic, your comments are starting to sound "blind and mindless, indoctrinated and brainwashed"...stop looking for zombies and wake up!

554  Economy / Marketplace / Re: YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A REFUND if you used Quickseller/Panther52 as an escrow on: September 14, 2015, 10:17:01 PM
He has offered to refund anyone who used his bogus escrow service.

Can you provide the relevant post to back this up? From my limited perusal I was under the impression that QS offered to pay back all those who used his escrow service for trade with his known alts, effectively Panthers52.

Is Panthers52 also a Quickseller account? What if we used either for escrow for a goods purchase (not lending)? The above comment was made but no one confirmed that Panther and Panthers are the same...are they?

Quickseller, you're a sneaky one with all these alt accounts! I dealt with Panthers and I think you might have responded from both accounts in the thread, wtf?!

Quickseller, are you also Blazedout?

Haha, no responses so you gave yourself a reply to move it to the top of the list? Clever? Maybe Mr. Xi doesn't frequent this forum. Also, the picture you tried to add didn't come through.

The question I have for you is why do we care about any of this? Why should read all of this? Can you give us a summary to respond to?

Cheers.
556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: September 14, 2015, 06:24:19 AM
I have been waiting for 2 days now for signature payment.
Really when you think that you will be paid and you don't get in time sucks.
Better is paying bi-weekly when the payment is delayed, waiting...
Btw, Coinut doesn't pay weekly, you get paid every 8 days instead of 7. GL hope you get paid soon. Tongue

Since everyone here is a pro at getting paid...and only posting so they can get paid, I think it's time to move this thread to a place more appropriate - like bitcoin, economics, services discussion (because this is talking about earned bitcoin) or micropayments...cause no one's really earning that much on a daily basis.

I dont get paid by posting, yet.

I just like to post, and i tell my opinion how i can earn bitcoin so others can earn too!  Grin

Alright, for you we can keep the thread here...for the rest of you, stop posting every day!

Thanks.
