Too bad I am not idiotic enough to be unable to read commas ... 25 instead of 2.5 ? LOL !

Oh the irony.
Cheesy

Bula, I can't help but feel bad for your stupidity.

Can't help feel bad for Matthew's trolling.

Europeans use . for commas in numbers unlike US folk ...

Troll on !

A couple people reported this post to me. Honestly, I can't see anything wrong with it. Don't steal resources from your employers, the rest of us will be more than happy to turn you in.

At best, that post was off topic and abusive.

My PC is on 24/7 anyway, and having it mine while I work isn't consuming any more resources or reducing my productivity. After hours, it's perhaps using a little more power than it would otherwise.

I don't even know why I'm explaining or defending myself to you people, frankly it's none of your damn business.

It became other peoples business when you asked other people to help you steal from your employer.

Unless you have asked your employers permission after first explaining that it will use a substantial amount of electricity then it is stealing.

Hashing on GPU's uses way more electricity than one would on a normal work day and night (24 hours a day as you mentioned above).

Bitcoin has had many hurdles because of nefarious people and this kind of activity is another example of something that can turn people to thinking that it (Bitcoin) is bad.

The reason you are explaining/defending yourself is that you need to justify to yourself that you are doing nothing wrong despite knowing that it is wrong.

Exactly. We don't encourage you stealing employer resources here in this community.

Helpful hint for stealing from employers : instead of mining ( slow stealing ) just grab a spare RAM stick from the computer. Or steal a PSU and sell it on eBay or just plain steal the whole desktop and claim aliens abducted it !

refunding so please Roberto, you have my full support.

Last, your unsecured claims process gives me a bad feeling of distrust. Consider my claim here public. Where is my money?

Who is Roberto ?

I thought Maria and Leo from coinexchanger were scammers but seems I am wrong Huh
585  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Powercolor 7990 on: June 08, 2012, 02:16:52 AM
Yes but I think AMD has given up with 7990 as it cannot compete with GTX 690 at any rate ( gaming / perf ) and mining is small marketshare and they also had thermal issues trying to cool so much heat with only one fan.

Hope I am wrong !

Unfortunately I think you're right.  If they haven't announced it at Computex by now, they're probably not going to at all.  I mean why wait til the 2nd to last day of Computex to showcase it?

Seems like that is the case.

The only options are the 7970x2 from HIS and Powercolor.

I mean why let Powercolor show off the monster before you get to show the 7990 reference model yourself Huh Why let them steal your thunder.

One would think they would first announce normal 7990 then super duper 1000 EURO Powercolor and HIS 7970x2 models ...

Value of 5970s just jumped Grin ?

How is A1 doing ?
Really, what does it matter about A1BITCOINPOOL? He hasn't come back and continued to chatter, so who cares whether he has a tag anyways.

Just trying to bump the thread so everybody is aware of my scamming ways !

Someday... some guy will do a "bulanula" on you, mark my words  Cool

589  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC linux/windows/osx 2.4.2 on: June 08, 2012, 12:23:14 AM
I have a serious performance problem with my mining setup that I'm hoping someone here can help with.

First of all, it isn't a dedicated miner - it's my desktop PC at work, running Windows 7 64-bit. I have a pair of HD 6670's in it, one is driving two monitors, the other is dedicated to mining. Before I screwed it up today, I was getting decent performance - about 110-115 Mhash/sec from both cards (the card driving the monitors was set at dynamic, the other card at 9). I was running Catalyst driver version 12.4 and after doing some reading here decided to downgrade to 11.6, the recommended version for mining.

So I uninstalled 12.4, rebooted, installed 11.6, rebooted again, and suddenly my performance plummeted to about 30-40 Mhash/sec on the card driving the monitors and about 13-14 on the secondary card! I found out that I needed to disable ULPS, so I did but that didn't make any difference.

So then I decided to revert back to the driver version that I was running before that was getting decent performance (even though it isn't the recommended version). I went through the whole uninstall, reboot, reinstall, etc. -- making sure I removed every trace of Catalyst I could find (including all "ATI" and "AMD" keys in the registry) in between. I'm still getting shit mining performance. I'm at a loss on what to try next. Any ideas? I'll be happy to post my config and any more info you need.

On a side note, does anyone have the FirePro V4900, and does it work with cgminer? How's its performance? I'm probably getting a new PC at work in a few weeks, and that's what's on the specs sheet for it.

Sad to see yet ANOTHER person stealing employer resources. Hope you get fired ...

592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer on: June 07, 2012, 10:58:13 PM
Version 2.2.2

  • Modest speedups for all x86-64 processors, ranging in most cases from 1% to 3%; about 4% for AMD K8, and about 8% for Intel Atom.
  • On Windows, thread priority is now set instead of process priority. This should solve most problems concerning system responsiveness.
  • scrypt is now about 12% faster on ARM11.
  • Fixed a bug that only made one CPU core accessible on Android.
  • A new option (--background) is available to start minerd as a daemon on *nix systems.

The source code is, as always, available at GitHub. Windows binaries are available here. Please note that I have updated DLLs to the latest version of libcurl; older DLLs are no longer needed.

Thanks go to guruvan, xurious and aaa801!

Will those speedups be visible while running on a 32 bit OS underneath ?

In summary, any benefit upgrading to this version for mostly Intel 64 bit CPUs running on 32 bit Windows OSes ?

Thanks !
593  Economy / Goods / Re: Come in and Trade Ammo or Talk about Guns! on: June 07, 2012, 10:50:08 PM

looks like they are out of stock. what did you pay per box? I wish I could find a bulk supply of 22lr.

**edit**

der, ill just do the math

16.99 a 525 pack, free shipping. I saw the deal on slick guns, and jumped on the offer and bought 12 boxes.

If anyone is interested, here are some bullets after being shot in the ground:

CCI Blazer, Remington Subsonic HP, CCI Minimag

remind me not to buy the middle one.

Not a gun specialist but why not ? Is it a plastic bullet or something ?

MPBM runs everything together perfectly.  It is the best FPGA mining software IMHO.  Smiley

Agree ! cgminer for GPU and MPBM for FPGA.

Don't try and make cgminer work for FPGAs as that will probably screw up the GPU element at some point.

So in the future you can use this pool as backup only ?

For example through GPUMAX ?

GPUMax blocked this pool as a private pool Tongue

I understand that but what about using this pool in case other pools die ?

Eg only using this pool as backup and not full time first choice pool ?

Allowed in future maybe ( as per above martychubbs post ) ?
596  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [605 GH] Eligius: Decentralized, 0Fee SMPPS, no reg, BTC+NMC on: June 07, 2012, 06:17:44 PM
Uh oh.
DDoS. Working on it, should be back online soon.

Funny stuff. I remember you saying the other day Eligius would be harder to DDOS than P2Pool yet now I see p2pool still working. Wink

I have nothing to do with the DDOS BTW. Just an observation and you got proved wrong ...
No, it didn't prove anything wrong. Eligius is still working, I just had to activate the DDoS protection - now we have more info to build on to automate activating it better next time. p2pool is still working because nobody bothered to try DDoSing it yet. If someone wanted to do a comparison to "prove me wrong", they need to DDoS p2pool too (which is just as illegal as DDoSing Eligius, so I don't endore doing it) with the same amount of bandwidth and see how each pool does after 24 hours of it.

Fair point. Did you find out why / who was DDOSing ? Called the FEDs ?

I've had a lot of dropped connections to eu1 server in the past couple of hours, anyone else?

How long are the drops? I was turning on the p2pool and that probably was it, it wasn't connecting...?

Update: Just did a reset, should be fixed..?

Update: Going to work on the real time user stats, putting p2pool as a 2nd priority...

Can you use this pool as backup for when other pools go down ?

Does it have to be 24/7 ?

I am just asking ...

yep, 24/7.  Once everything is automated, I don't care...

So in the future you can use this pool as backup only ?

For example through GPUMAX ?
599  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitcoinAdvertisers.com SCAM!! on: June 07, 2012, 05:53:59 PM
Sorry, to clarify I meant that we have a policy to not discuss specific TOS disputes in public, for the cases that have already been aired in public I'm not making any further comment.

You also do not discuss in private. You just ignore.

This guy clearly deserves a scammer tag.

So many people complaining ...

Have you learned your lesson? its only scamming if you didn't say "i will do whatever i want and if you complain i will do whatever i want anyway" before the deal.

I have indeed learned my lesson. Have a slick TOS that allows me to take all the BTC and not give anything in return Wink

Any corrupt lawyer taking BTC here up for the challenge ? Make it small print too !
