Appears he sent a small chip in.

Thanks and ty for being a dip shit by accusing me of extortion!

why arent you taking bitcoin on snailsinthemail.com?

Change up your product descriptions, we can tell that you simply cloned the 5 snail product and changed the price and title for the others.  Snails - Neat!

I'll take ten off your hands at 60 a piece via escrow.  The oldest used ones.
583  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making gold from glass on: August 30, 2014, 02:43:05 PM
This is not feasible - the net gain is depleted through the marginal costs of heating and extraction.  Better chance of recovering gold from electronic scrap processing.

In simple terms  with my own opinion utilized - You pay 300 bucks for 2000 lbs of cheap used glass - you pay 100 dollars for chemicals - you pay $1000 dollars in heating and processing costs - and it gets you about $15 dollars worth of Gold reclaimed.

Update: Food for thought:  elements cannot be created nor destroyed - they can be deconstructed downward through fission processes which will also release neutrons and radioactive energy.  Particles are not created (in the typical sense IIRC volatile exotic isotopes as well as synthesized atoms with unstable half-lives do come into creation). He says you can "recover the gold through hydraulic separation" - well wait a minute, weren't we doing that in the step where we crushed the glass into a powder to begin with? Furthermore, the OP never goes into detail on how much source glass material is needed - he does a comparison and says that scientists would be highly skeptical and his answer to this "Thank God for the advancements in science"

Seriously this guy is a total crackpot.  Google is your friend: Glass is made by melting together several minerals at very high temperatures. Silica in the form of sand is the main ingredient and this is combined with soda ash and limestone and melted in a furnace at temperatures of 1700°C.

Soooo, by breaking down glass into a powder form, you are simply getting metamorphosized silica crystals, NOTHING MORE.

Why dont you donate all your money?

Sure, But only after Bill Gates and Warren Buffet donate all of their money first
585  Other / Off-topic / Which console should I buy???? on: August 30, 2014, 02:05:07 PM
I have had an Xbox360 since 2009 and I'm sort of ready to move on.  I only really got the bug to want a PS4 NOW because of the great pricing from newegg using BTC with the 75 dollars off - making it about $325 dollars for me.  I could easily buy it now with no penalties to my quality of life, but I'm trying to decide if it 'makes good sense'.

I am a bargain bin shopper and love buying up old titles from before to play through - buying a ps4 would force me to purchase a couple new games up front and download free to play stuff whenever offered.  I have  xbox Live service, amazon prime, and hulu plus (no cable at all) Does anyone know if I can use those apps on a PS4 or even a PS3?  I see that I cannot play any backwards compatible games with the new generation of consoles - the ps3 seemed tempting at first - but nothing is really drawing me in - Maybe I'd play God of War or Little Big Planet, but everything else is available on xbox360 which I've grown tired of because all I'm seeing is Zombies this or first person that - (skyrim was the only title i really truly enjoyed from pickup to put-down and even it got repetitive at times [grand theft auto V wasn't all that all that enjoyable after burning through the new game feeling])

update: I found an even better deal only 350 for a ps4 with 3 games and 2 controllers and a charging dock - its very tempting...
586  Economy / Service Announcements / Custom Saved Job searching all Craigslist for Bitcoin Jobs on: August 30, 2014, 06:37:21 AM
I used a custom google search to query all craigslist locations for Bitcoin jobs here:  http://honeybadgerofmoney.com/jobs/  I did this because I wanted a way to search craigslist all at once for all bitcoin related jobs and to be able to present this list to the world at large.  Since it is based on Google indexing and not the real time pinging of craigslist there is a bit of a propagation delay and sometimes the posts are expired or deleted so I have it sorting by latest date.  It actually led me to creating a blog post about free money that is potentially available in Austin TX and also to apply to a consulting gig that seemed interesting.

I would recommend checking out this list if you are looking for a development job within bitcoin or perhaps to find a few small gigs to pass time.  This site project is not affiliated with Google nor Craigslist but I hope that it encourages some of you to apply for these positions or at least see where the concentration of bitcoin related jobs may be if you intend to move to a bitcoin friendly area within the future.

588  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: FPGA's and Mining on: August 30, 2014, 01:12:13 AM
Hi,
This may seem like a very stupid question, but I am wondering why FPGA's aren't used instead of ASICS? Part of the answer is probably that I just do not have enough knowledge about hardware and the costs involved. By the way does anyone have a list of the prices for The latest FPGA's like the Xilinx Virtex ultra scale family with 4000000 Logic cells.

same reason why cpu mining died a long time ago.

I think it goes like this:

FPGA = complex computing circuits built into the silicon

CPU = complex computing circuits also built into the silicon

Asic = simple computing circuit that is repeated continuously over the surface area of the silicon

FPGA and CPU can only use a tiny sliver of the computing circuits available to do the BTC hashing

Asics use THEIR ENTIRE computing surface area to calculate hashes.  (Mining hardware vendors simply run their tape-out then start the tedious assembly work of combining our chips resistors ferrite beads capacitors and boards)

FPGAs were used at one point because they were off the shelf and available to work with a much smaller power and subsequent heat footprint (compared to GPUs)  As we see, this trend was short-lived as Avalon and bitfury chips flooded the scene (KNC and Bitmain were simply the nails in the coffin of the FPGA Bitcoin mining business)

I basically took out the 'non factor' hardware vendor companies there because they didn't hardly make a dent in btc difficulty levels compared to those mentioned.
589  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we give respect to Rich and no-respect to poor? on: August 29, 2014, 11:32:00 PM
Rich - poor (who are you to decide which title applies to whom?)

I give respect to those who give it back...period.

I don't respect rich people more than poor people.  If you think otherwise or differently, then consider that you could be allowing Television and media at large to dictate what you believe is happening with this "we all respect rich people but not poor people".

7441 BTC Volume in last 24h, current price 518?

arbitrage.  It doesn't matter if bulls are there - more bots will be around to correct the price with a spread from other liquidity.

What was Abdu's last name?  How long has the site been going on?
His name is not even Abdu btw..

I know, I'm pulling your leg.  Its not one guy,  I'm still confused as to how money is generated (unless they do a pay for publishing model like coindesk and cointelegraph)

Abdu currently earns BTC117,90 / Month!

What the actual fuck, that's amazing! Thank you sir, I will try to earn me some coin Wink

yeh i highly doubt thats true if your good maybe a couple of BTC a month but not 117. even coders have trouble getting that much per month in BTC

Is your friend named Banksy?  If not, then that's likely false.
594  Economy / Goods / Selling BlockErupter Lapel Pins on: August 29, 2014, 05:01:12 PM
Listed here These lapel pins were once used for BTC mining.  I have a pretty decent number available if you have a BTC club at school that you want members to earn through paying dues.  Its a neat fashion piece and it was used to mine for BTC before in the past.
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lego Bitcoin Project - Sign up and support so the set becomes real! It's free! on: August 29, 2014, 04:53:44 PM
Interesting concept  Cheesy

But no kid would want to buy this set if it goes to market. This will either be a complete flop or it's going to be a collector's item.

Sadly - I agree.  Why not just make your own unauthorized version to resell yourself???
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin A Relic of The Past on: August 26, 2014, 07:44:40 AM
others like me wish for it to do another dip to below 4 bucks so we can get a nice gain when it returns back to 6 dollar territory. Food for thought - BTC has not had innovation either just as LTC was not the 2nd altcoin created.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best age to introduce your kids to Bitcoin? on: August 26, 2014, 07:14:25 AM
At whatever age you would start paying an allowance in exchange for chores.  The coolest thing about paying an allowance in BTC would be that the kids could learn the value of saving since the value of their BTC may increase the longer they hold it.  You never know, some kids may save their accrued BTC's throughout their life until adulthood and the next thing you know BOOM they're rich when it hits the moon Smiley

That's a good suggestion I think I may get my kids in via an allowance. but I'll 50/50 it so they can spend their cash but save their btc if they choose to - I will keep onto their wallet so they cant go throwing it away on primedice.

To everyone else, I'd tell my kids about bitcoin as early as possible - didn't someone make a childrens book about bitcoin already? = well its an ebook anyway:  http://www.amazon.com/Bitcoin-Beginner-Kids-Trilogy-Inspirational-ebook/dp/B00GCMFWSA
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dissapointed about using bitcoin as a currency, it really should improve on: August 24, 2014, 08:17:15 PM

That's just bullshit. So you assume bitcoin will grow into infinity so that every adapter is able to make "profit"

ok lets compare bitcoin to gold
bitcoin 13mill coins circulation (21mill total in future)
gold 175k tonnes circulation (not much more in future)

on comparison, based on total amount available right now. your 0.2btc is equivalent to about 92 ounces of gold (if there were all 21mill coins in circulation your 0.2btc would be 56 ounces)

so you have spend basically 56-92 ounces of the worlds gold now, rather than waiting for the public to take it on and to receive true value for your hoard, and what did you get for your spend?... very little.

how is it proven that gold utility greater than or equal to BTC and vice versa for that matter?  Its a tall order to presume that they will match in both perceived as well as actual value.

I've paid several times in bars and restaurants with bitcoin (I go there especially because of bitcoin) and every time I was ripped of.
Every time I paid a premium of 5 to 10% above FIAT price when I paid in bitcoin.

If bitcoin wants to succeed as a payment in bars and restaurants this really has to change.

The reason I did it was to show the experience to friends whom I sucked into the bitcoin sect.

Now I showed it to them all and I'm not going to use bitcoin for these purpose anymore untill the price is equal or cheaper.

Do other people have the same experience?

No sir I haven't when in your circumstance.  HOWEVER, I've had embarrassing moments with walmart and target at the checkout line when trying to use the electronic gift-cards I purchased using gyft.  I wanted to know how many other business establishments you have purchased from using btc?  I often hear and see of others referencing discounts when people 'pay in btc'  I've only paid spot price for gift cards and redeemed them for their value.  Conversely I offered my sending rate as I used a paper QR code on the side of the food cart when I paid for some whiffies here in Portland.

I have also had to pay a premium on person to person transactions so I will do my best to negotiate it downward whenever possible.
599  Economy / Economics / Re: Technological unemployment is (almost) here on: August 24, 2014, 07:13:19 AM
No doubt we will see this happen, I wonder what BTC will be useful for in a such a society?

It could be that cryptocurrency will play a part in the knowledge based information economy.
Yeah but if we dont need money anymore because machines have replaced 99% of jobs?

You know the saying "Time is money?" As long as time exists, money will exist. Even if everything you could ever want is provided for you, someone will always want it provided to them faster, or be the first in line to get it.

Who defines the value correlation between them, I think that is the question.  Plus, there is a difference between time to spend vs efficiencies gained.  A future could perhaps exist where autonomous society is a second class to assist operators who also still remain as the interfaces between us - otherwise we are describing large interactive vending machines - how do the machines load and drop off foods, will we have a robotic police society?  (thats a new level of fear we haven't covered yet either)

The operators will more likely than not be humans for the longer term.  I think that an autonmous society would still need an efficient mechansim to ensure security and THAT would depend on humans - WatchDogs, while only a work of art, has some eerie resemblances to what 'could' be possible with a determined enough hacker|group of hackers with either a monetary or self-serving cause to overrun.  Something like this but with AI and DAC p2p models handling all customer throughputs.
