What "fudder" means?

I think there is another meaning different from what Urban Dictionary says. =)

The act of saying an epic joke in your head, but when you say it, you stutter like Pokey Pig.

The vast majority of exchanges that at some point accepted credit cards charged very high rates or stopped accepting after a certain period.
I hope Binance will not make either of these two cases. And that this new service helps to reverse the price with more fiat in the market.

In a few decades when the reward gets too small, the merit will become the main compensation for users.  I'm sure that in 20 years there will either be very large active or no activity.

Recently it was termed a scam, but going through this thread it is clear that duckdice is a trusted platform for gambling. In between some issues have broken out. They will never return the money that you (or your supposed son) lost on betting. There is no possibility of this, this is not how a casino works.

They can at most offer some bonus or a small agreement.

Now, it makes no sense for you to talk directly to their lawyer. You have to contact a lawyer to advise you before you speak to them. If your story has some real fact, a lawyer will show you if there is any possibility of receiving something.

Roma - 1.83
Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman) - 9.00
Christian Bale (Vice) - 2.00
Yalitza Aparicio (Roma) - 17.00

I would bet on those names. They are not necessarily the ones I liked the most. But those are the ones that seem most reasonable to win some money. Rome as a movie is almost certain. Spike Lee sounds like a fun name to bet. Because of his career, by the political positioning he has and for perhaps being the great and unique opportunity for him.

Bale, as well as Rome, seems like a sure bet too. Almost impossible to lose. And he deserves it, is incredible in the film and would be a prize for all the transformations he went through.

Yalitza could be a surprise and bring a good return on the bet.

589  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Monthly minimum wage: ~$82 is that too much to ask? on: January 31, 2019, 12:56:13 AM
I remember that in Brazil there was for a long time a discussion that the minimum wage should never be below 100 dollars. During the 1998 crisis, it was much debated that this should be defined by law. At the end of 2004¹, the minimum wage went above 100 dollars and never went below again, even without a law defining it as a rule. The minimum wage in Brazil today is defined following an equation and is readjusted every year.

The biggest problem in this discussion is not the value of the readjustment. But the delay in readjusting the salary. 50 dollars a month today is below the value that the World Bank defines as poverty line². Even in China³, the value is 3x larger than this.

That is alot for just a tweet. Undecided
Hardens streak ends tonight with a defeat from those pelicans.
From when I turned off the tv he had 27 points and only a minute and a half left to go.

What people are talking doesn't make sense, it is not a matter that he will make more money. He could ask for a trade and he could inform the team that he will no sign for an extension. What he could not do is talking publicly about this. And that is why he will have to pay 50k

The Ripple blockchain has utility and can exist without XRP. Of course, the foundation will still try to add value to XRP, but it can be a profitable organization without XRP. That is, they can sell services directly to banks that can use another currency or token. I do not think Swift will use XRP.

Scarcity: The scarcity of gold is well understood, though subject to variations based on how much mining is going on and how new gold deposits are discovered. The bitcoin protocol has a hard limit of 21,000,000 bitcoin units, which includes all the bitcoin where the keys were lost and bitcoin is permanently out of circulation. Changing the protocol to allow more units of bitcoins would require the consensus of all participants, which is practically impossible. Bitcoin and gold totally satisfy the shortage.

Há tantos pontos que podemos listar para comparar ouro e criptografia. Ambos não têm valor, ainda têm muito valor.

I don't know if the peeps are really getting the point here since a lot of them are repeating the same thing in their replies that it would be abused, or there shouldn't be such a giveaway etc. That is not what OP is trying to say here (if I'm understanding correctly). The point of doing this would only be to encourage people to take part in a poll, and search for the correct answers of it, which would eventually increase their knowledge. There wouldn't/shouldn't be any rewards for answering (correctly). If someone is getting a bit knowledge out of it, there is no harm in it.

More knowledge = better post quality.

Yeap!

He began by talking about merits and many assumed that this was the purpose of the questionnaire. As I understand it, it would just be something fun and informative to do. And the only reward would be a badge. The purpose would be similar to the phases that sometimes appear on the ad slot.

Interesting, I think your formula is better. Could someone put a print screen using this script? Maybe from an altcoin topic.

I had previously suggested a possibility that would use the "ignore" function of the forum. Rather than having lists created manually, we would have list sources that would be updated constantly. It would work almost the same way this script, depending on the list you choose, but without having to install or use any kind of script.

But those who commented on the topic did not like it because they thought the ignore function had to be an individual choice... :/

599  Other / Off-topic / Piracy can affect the pricing power. it injects "shadow" competition on: January 29, 2019, 04:38:22 AM

The hidden treasure of digital piracy? Can boost bottom line for manufacturers, retailers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- HBO's popular television series "Game of Thrones" returns in April, but millions of fans continue to illegally download the program, giving it the dubious distinction of being the most pirated program.

Many may wonder why the TV network hasn't taken a more aggressive approach to combating illegal streaming services and downloaders. Perhaps it is because the benefits to the company outweigh the consequences. Research analysis by faculty in Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and two other schools found that a moderate level of piracy can have a positive impact on the bottom line for both the manufacturer and the retailer -- and not at the expense of consumers.

"When information goods are sold to consumers via a retailer, in certain situations, a moderate level of piracy seems to have a surprisingly positive impact on the profits of the manufacturer and the retailer while, at the same time, enhancing consumer welfare," wrote Antino Kim, assistant professor of operations and decision technologies at Kelley, and his co-authors.

"Such a win-win-win situation is not only good for the supply chain but is also beneficial for the overall economy."

While not condoning piracy, Kim and his colleagues were surprised to find that it can actually reduce, or completely eliminate at times, the adverse effect of double marginalization, an economic concept where both manufacturers and retailers in the same supply chain add to the price of a product, passing these markups along to consumers.

The professors found that, because piracy can affect the pricing power of both the manufacturer and the retailer, it injects "shadow" competition into an otherwise monopolistic market.

"From the manufacturer's point of view, the retailer getting squeezed is a good thing," Kim said. "It can't mark up the product as before, and the issue of double marginalization diminishes. Vice versa, if the manufacturer gets squeezed, the retailer is better off.

"What we found is, by both of them being squeezed together -- both at the upstream and the downstream levels -- they are able to get closer to the optimal retail price that a single, vertically integrated entity would charge."

In the example of "Game of Thrones," HBO is the upstream "manufacturer" in the supply chain, and cable and satellite TV operators are the downstream "retailers."

Kim and his co-authors -- Atanu Lahiri, associate professor of information systems at the University of Texas-Dallas, and Debabrata Dey, professor of information systems at the University of Washington -- presented their findings in the article, "The 'Invisible Hand' of Piracy: An Economic Analysis of the Information-Goods Supply Chain," published in the latest issue of MIS Quarterly.

They suggest that businesses, government and consumers rethink the value of anti-piracy enforcement, which can be quite costly, and consider taking a moderate approach. Australia, for instance, due to prohibitive costs, scrapped its three-strikes scheme to track down illegal downloaders and send them warning notices. Though the Australian Parliament passed a new anti-piracy law last year, its effectiveness remains unclear until after it is reviewed in two years.

As with other studies, Kim and his colleagues found that when enforcement is low and piracy is rampant, both manufacturers and retailers suffer. But they caution against becoming overzealous in prosecuting illegal downloaders or in lobbying for more enforcement.

"Our results do not imply that the legal channel should, all of a sudden, start actively encouraging piracy," they said. "The implication is simply that, situated in a real-world context, our manufacturer and retailer should recognize that a certain level of piracy or its threat might actually be beneficial and should, therefore, exercise some moderation in their anti-piracy efforts.

"This could manifest itself in them tolerating piracy to a certain level, perhaps by turning a blind eye to it," they add. "Such a strategy would indeed be consistent with how others have described HBO's attitude toward piracy of its products."

I believe that most people who believe in Bitcoin have, or had in the past, some connection with piracy. Mp3, napster, Torrents. Competition, even if it is through an unregulated competitor, requires you to improve your product or you will be replaced. This may possibly occur with fiat ...

What is investing in casinos?

You will invest to increase their bankroll. That means you are putting money into the casino so people can bet against it. That is, you are betting that the casino will win more games than it will lose against its user.

It is not a simple investment. It should be regarded as a lower risk bet. But it's still a gamble.

All casinos work with statistics that are favorable. This means that most likely in the long run you will make a profit.

yolodice.com

You will invest to increase their bankroll. Your investment will represent a portion of the bankroll in a group. So this means you are betting on yolodice against the players. If the site has profit, you will receive your share less their commission(35%). You could leverage too.
