But yes, rebels must be careful and keep their arms ready. Because warmongering Ukrainian nationalist gangs, encouraged and sponsored by certain shady (or perhaps not so shady) circles from the West, should not be trusted. They want war.

There aren't any warmongering nationalist gangg. There are very few nationalists in Ukraine that were visible during the Maidan protests, but they had very little support, and their party got less than 1% of the votes (There are MANY more nationalists and neonazis in Russia though). The first "warmongering gangs" appeared when Russia started putting out a whole bunch of scaremongering propaganda, claiming that Kiev is taken over by fascists who want to ban Russian language and kill all Russians (which was of course not true in any way), so the gangs were actually separatists, not Ukrainians, who were nothing more than hooligans with guns, going around taking over government buildings, and shooting anyone who they thought was a right sector supporter. Ukraine sent in troops to put a stop to their mayhem and bring peace back, as a police force, nothing more. No one in Ukraine wanted a war, not with eastern ukraine and not with russian, ESPECIALLY while the government is weak and the country is still unstable. The idea that there are warmongering Ukrainian gangs, or especially that they are being provoked and supported by government, sounds ridiculous in light of that situation.

That said, there probably are some nationalists in those areas who would be unhappy if after all this "Russia was never there, and was not responsible" fighting and killing that has been going on, if Russia were tomroll in their factories and start pumping gas from the lands they supposedly didn't invade and didn't conquer.

News coming in that Ukrainian tanks have fired on NAF positions near the village of Faschevka (East of Debaltsevo). Seems like this ceasefire won't last for much longer. BTW... even Poroshenko doubts that it will last. Check this:

http://tvzvezda.ru/news/vstrane_i

Also, there is news that a convoy from Battalion Aidar was ambushed near Schastye. The battalion commander, S Melnychuk was reportedly killed in the attack.

How can Poroshenko guarantee a ceasefire if the troops fighting the separatists are all volunteers, and are not there? Why does he answer for them any more than Putin answers for the Russian volunteers?
And before you say, "But it's the Ukrainian army!" do remember that a lot of Ukrainians are fighting against the Russian invasion as guerillas, too.
603  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: September 07, 2014, 10:07:55 PM

World War 2 had been over for decades, so why did the Russian soldiers still refuse to go home?

This is a good question, why US continues to occupy Europe over seven decades (rhetorical question)

Because US is imperialist scum that wants to impose its democracy and capitalism on other nations. OK, your turn guys. Why did Russian troops refuse to go home? Wink
604  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: September 07, 2014, 10:04:22 PM
Kind of like how when rebels declare a safety corridor, they end up killing hundreds of people passing through it, including Russian POWs?

The Kiev forces tried to act like they are over-smart and they got their asses kicked. The rebels were very clear when they said that the soldiers are not allowed to take any of their heavy weaponry on their route to Russia. But the over-confident Kiev forces took all their APCs and tanks and tried to storm their way to the Russian checkpoint. Got scorched by the rebel artillery barrage.

You say that as if that's a good reason to kill hundreds of people, including your own.

I'm kind of disappointed to see that Rassah is so biased.

For a major city with a population of 2.78 million, to have just their number of kids double suggests that there may be as many as a million reffugies in that city alone.
Can you imagine a city whose population increased by more than a third in a couple of months? It would be a humanitarian crisis.

Maybe they are having a crisis and we haven't heard about it yet. Or maybe they will start when the food starts running out.

And sure, I'm biased. I have a good reason to be, which is almost 100 years of family and personal experience living under Rissian propaganda machine. You'd thing that it changed after the fall of USSR, but considering the lies Russia got caught in just since April, it would seem no.
605  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What is the safest way to generate cold storage wallets? on: September 07, 2014, 09:19:10 PM
If you have a printer than can print photos directly from USB (has a USB port on the front to connects USB drives and cameras to), the safest and easiest way to print paper wallets will be with Mycelium Entropy. You don't need to create any clean OS'es or download any websites to use offline. Just disconnect your printer, plug in the entropy device, hit print, and then reset your printer. It won't be available until October though. More info here: http://indiegogo.com/projects/mycelium-entropy
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do People Believe Bitcoin Will Replace Fiat? on: September 07, 2014, 04:22:24 AM
A point that seems to be missed is that Bitcoin is already replacing fiat to the extent of approx $30 million per day. If bitcoin/crypto did not exist fiat would have to be used for most of that volume of transaction. It is a small beginning and currently the $ value and transaction volume is increasing incrementally at approx 3% per month average.
Wow poor logical thinking.  Its not zero sum.  Those bit coins came into existence through mining.  They didn't replace any fiat because no fiat got taken out of circulation
Speak for yourself. My bitcoins replaced my fiat.

Your fiat still exists its just in someone else's possession  Roll Eyes

Start with 100 fiats. You own 100 fiats, and fiats are 100% of the world's economy

Mine 10 fiats worth of bitcoins. Trade your 10 fiats worth of bitcoins to someone else. Now there is 110 fiats worth of wealth in the world. Actual fiats take up only 90.9% of the world's economy. Bitcoins took over 9.1% of fiats in the world's economy.

When everyone exchanges their fiat for bitcoins, only you will still have any fiat. Good luck spending your fiat then.

And when is this supposed to happen?  100 years later after I'm dead?  LOL  Roll Eyes

I don't think fiats will exist for 100 more years. It will only take dollars and/or euros to collapse for fiats to end and the world to switch to bitcoin. Euro fiat is only about 25 years old, and dollar fiat is only about 45 years old. They are both very new, and historically fiats have an average lifespan of about 27 years.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do People Believe Bitcoin Will Replace Fiat? on: September 07, 2014, 03:49:41 AM
Has he? I've seen an announcement about Realcoin. It is purported to to be a cryptocurrency that is controlled in lockstep with the US Dollar. Tell me - exactly how is this to be accomplished?

USD backed tokens, issued and backed by a bank, running on Mastercoin on to of bitcoin. Bank can always issue or take in tokens to control supply, and promises to back 1:1 with full reserves.

Maybe Pierce has a viable scheme. I don't think he does. I think he's lying. I think he is just trying to attract fantastic sums of VC money with which he can live large -- just like every other failed business in which he has been involved so far.

Brock IS the VC, and has been the funder in all those business, including failed one. He has more money than he knows what to do with, so doesn't need anyone else's help to live large.
608  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sanction against Russia for West-choreographed conflict in Ukraine on: September 06, 2014, 04:34:16 AM
There is an accurate comparison to the sanctions situation:

US and European sanctions against Russia can be compared to a terrorist (US/EU leaders) aboard on an airplane that stands firmly in the ground brandishing a grenade and demanding that the pilot (Russia) lands the plane, while the pilot tries to calmly tell the terrorist that the plane is already landed and there is no reason to kill everyone on board (Europe).

And a joke that I read recently:
- The West was saying that Russia is the gas station of Europe, but it turns out that it's Europe that is the farm of Russia.

But you yourself said that the Russians fighting in Ukraine are volunteers. So are there Russian volunteers fighting in Russia, and should Russia condemn their citizens for fighting another country's army, or not?

And the latest development in sanctions yapping:

Australia imposes new round of sanctions against Russia
http://rt.com/business/184180-australia-new-sanctions-russia/

Quote
The Australian government on Monday unveiled further sanctions against Russian oil and gas, financial and defense sectors, bringing Canberra in line with the European Union.

Under the new sanctions there will be no new arms exports and no new exports for the oil and gas industry, Prime Minister Tony Abbott told the Australian parliament.

In addition, Russian state-run banks are not allowed new access to Australian capital markets and there will be no new trade and investment in Crimea.

So, yeah, let Australia punish Crimeans for their democratic choice. Democracy has no place in the Western world and must be eradicated at all cost.

They are not punishing Crimeans, they are punishing Russia, whom Crimeans decided to side with. If Crimeans don't want to be sanctioned, they can easily democratically distance themselves from Russia and declare themselves as an independent state.

More and more of the world is catching on to Russian lies.
609  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: September 06, 2014, 04:24:48 AM
Very glad to hear about those low poll numbers! Especially if they came from Russia! Since it would mean that in reality a huge majority of Ukrainians are supporting their new government, and support defending the country against the Russian invasion.

Curious what those separatists will do when they get to Mariupol, a city that doesn't want them. Will they leave them alone, or "liberate" them by force?

By the way, I spoke to my Ukrainian contact in Kiev recently. Kiev is quiet, there are no protests, and haven't been any for a while now, people are OK with their new government and are mostly worried about Russia coming in further into the country, and there are A LOT of refugees from Eastern Ukraine there. School just started, and classes that typically have 20 to 25 kids per class are now crammed with 47 to 50 kids per class. For a major city with a population of 2.78 million, to have just their number of kids double suggests that there may be as many as a million reffugies in that city alone. Considering Russian media report of 800,000 refugees going into Russia, and that Russia always lies by stating the opposite of the truth, I guess there are now 800,000 refugees in Kiev.

I generally oppose military involvement, but I kinda wish Ukraine could resolve this situation by announcing that all Ukrainian military who wants to stop breaking international laws should pull back into Kiev, then sail a Ukrainian USS Nimitz class aircraft carrier into the Black Sea, and launch a whole bunch of Ukrainian Patriot Missiles and Ukrainian F18 SuperHornets to shred ALL military equipment that is still there, obviously only owned by the evil Ukrainians who refuse to stop bombing civilians, into scrap metal. Along with anyone who is in or near them. Because obviously there won't be any Russians there.
610  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: September 06, 2014, 03:59:25 AM
Whenever they declare a "ceasefire" it's obviously just for show. Meanwhile, shelling and combat continue.

Kind of like how when rebels declare a safety corridor, they end up killing hundreds of people passing through it, including Russian POWs?

Near Mariupol the 9th battalion of a brigade of the Russian army from Nizhni-Novgorod was destroyed completely by the Ukrainian air force. No wonder Putin wants a no-fly-agreement as part of the truce.

http://rusjev.net/2014/09/04/pod-mariupolem-segodnya-sgorela-rossiyskaya-tankovaya-rota/

Lol, it seems that you've been caught pushing fake info once again. Below are the two photos from the site with full resolution:

These are obviously not even same locations. Note the burning Russian military stuff is in front of a row of trees with houses, while the burning Ukrainian truck is in front of a forest without houses. There is more than just one field in that country, you know.
611  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: September 03, 2014, 03:41:26 AM
v1.3.3 was released to Google Play store, github, and our site.

The list of changes from last regular release include:

* Generic scan button in the main view - Use this to quickly scan QR codes to send bitcoins. In the future, this may be used to quickly log into websites with BitID.
* Improvements to barcode scanning with flashlight toggle and autofocus setting
* Email notifications for LocalTrader - Google Push Notifications system is still kind of unreliable, and we can't fix it because it's Google servers that are having issues, so this is a fix until we figure out something better.
* Fixes and connectivity fallback for dns issues - A few days ago we had an issue where our domain name, which is pointing to our servers, was temporarily turned off by our provider while they verified that we are who we say we are. Should this happen again, wallets will switch to contacting our servers with their IP numbers directly (this is also likely temporary, until we move everything to Tor)
* Various crash fixes

We think that this will be the last feature update for the non-HD version. Stay tuned for an upcoming Mycelium HD release.
612  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: September 01, 2014, 09:48:59 PM
I just recently discovered the benefits of using an HD wallet. Because of this I had to switch from using mycelium to another mobile wallet.

I recently discovered the benefits of barbed wire.  Because of that I had to move to another house, which is surrounded by a barbed wire fence.

I mean, did you think about what these benefits would actually give you and whether they would apply in your case?  Sure, using an HD wallet means one doesn't have to think and worry about possible loss of privacy due to address reuse, or face the inconvenience of maintaining tons of non-HD keys.   And all the hard work that wallet developers put into delivering BIP32 to their users is truly commendable.  But all too often people read flashy headlines like "address reuse considered harmful" or "USB is fundamentally broken" and rush into action.

Actually there are a few benefits that HD gives besides just privacy. There are a few features we haven't been able to add until we got this HD thing implemented. But we're getting there!

Russia has been doing business with Iraq long before that and had other projects going, doesn't prove anything

Just proves that Russia has been doing business with dictators that subjugate and murder their own people. But that's not news.

Whataboutism is not any good, but you don't notice the implications.
What if someone keeps doing bad things? <- That makes it OK for you to keep doing bad things?
What if the ultimate goal of that someone is to weaken and control you as much as possible? <- That makes it OK for you to control and weaken others as much as possible?
What if the only viable option is to do something bad? Would you just surrender? <- That means you should be just as bad as them, and just give up, instead of fighting against doing bad things?
Is this still whataboutism? <- Yes. Yes it is.
614  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: August 31, 2014, 03:28:01 PM
Actually more in my family were killed by Russians than by Germans.

Same with my family. There's a very good reason why Ukrainians welcomed the Germans with flowers and gifts as liberators when they invaded Ukraine. Russia, and Stalin, probably killed many more Ukrainians than Germany.

Cheesy This is actually what USA is doing, God bless them. It's sometimes ironically called exporting democracy.

No matter how hard you're trying to make it look good, it's still called imperialism.

Imperialism is taking over control of countries. And while yes, it has done that with some countries, that is not the ultimate goal. Hell, Japan is part of USA "empire" if that was true. And don't worry, USA is paying for its actual imperialism, the same way Soviet Russia paid for theirs, with the economy no longer able to sustain the military needed to keep the empire alive.

this is just BS, complete bananas, explain to us how you opened up Iraq and Syria to international trade.

These are too recent to judge, and Iraq was an actual example of imperialism. Many Americans protested that, understood that it was just our crazy president being controlled by Cheney to get Cheney's oil company access to oil there, and most Americans now admit it was a huge mistake. Syria was not invaded, and America only got involved when chemical weapons were used.
For good examples of the past, look at South Korea and Vietnam (although both were likely started with lies). Do you think South Korea is doing better than the communist North Korea? What about Vietnam? Both countries are international economic powerhouses. What about Chile? It has a fairly free government, with major businesses, including a private company that's the biggest producer of paper in the world. Compare that to Argentina, or Equador.
615  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: August 31, 2014, 03:08:39 PM
you are referring to '39, this is whataboutism  Smiley

I think you don't understand what whataboutism is.

This:  "Russia invaded Ukraine." | "Well, America invaded Iraq, so Russia is not to blame"  is whataboutism.

This: "Russia invaded and subjugated Poland." |  " Well, Russia saved Poland when Poland was invaded by Germany."  is just the same country doing some good FTER it did bad.

Notice the difference? Whataboutism is excusing your bad actions because someone else did bad things too (like, if you were to murder someone, and then say that it's OK, because someone else murdered someone too). What happened to Poland is excusing your bad actions because you did something good later.
616  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: August 31, 2014, 02:54:25 PM
The Global Soviet Empire appeared only in your imagination because you have poor basic comprehension skills.

Actually, no, it appeared in my imagination because that's what Russian Soviet propaganda kept telling me is the glorious goal of the motherland when I lived there.

So, we have proven in this forum that the Maidan flunkeys have low IQ's. Where have you found a group of more stupid people who fought for their supposed blind idealism so that their country could break up?

Uh, the British colonists, who fought for their blind idealism, and established USA which became a global superpower? I guess Russia brainwashed you into thinking that fighting for political from is a stupid thing, and you should just follow whatever big brother tells you.

Now they blame everybody forgetting it's all because of their stupidity.

They're not blaming everyone. Just Russia. For invading them.
617  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: August 31, 2014, 02:46:31 PM
OK, I'll say something. This is pathognomonic of your problem. You don't understand what you're reading and you comment. I was for the Multi-polar world & Russia is fighting for a multi-polar world. The US wants a unipolar world.

If you think Russia wants a multipolar world, you must have been asleep for the last 200 years, or know absolutely nothing of Russia's history. You at least remember the Soviet Union, right? There is a major misconception between what USA wants and what Russia says USA wants. When USA is "expanding," it is trying to open up more countries to international trade, so that countries will have their economic levels brought up and supported by other major world economies. And sure, sometimes that means deposing dictators that stifle economic and personal freedoms, and steal their country's resources. When Russia talks about USA wanting to expand, they claim that it's USA wanting to expand dictatorial military power, because that's what Russia is, and has been trying to do since it was taken over by Mongolians many centuries ago.
Why do you think that a culture that was literally creating a unipolar world throughout most of the 1900's, that now has many of the same people in power that were in power when it was USSR, suddenly wants a multipolar world?

Frankly, I'm not too sympathetic with  innocent idealists. They should know if they were falling into the  wolves' lair. That's what happened in Maidan. They could have read more & if they did, they could have learned they were falling into the usual trap of the CIA, they should have been wiser. They were stupid, to be frank.

Look what happened...

What happened is Ukrainians deposed a wanabe dictator with close ties to Russia. They chose freedom over strong rule, which Russia is yet to do. And if the new government is as bad as Russians claim it is, they will do it again and again. Ukraine is no longer safe for socialist dictators that rob the country of its resources with Russia's blessing. That's what happened.
618  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could someone provide evidence that the majority of Russians aren't insane? on: August 31, 2014, 02:23:45 PM
In their own words, those attending the Atlantic Council gathering describe the battle for Ukraine being fought to “complete” their socioeconomic consolidation in Europe – this includes “integrating Russia.” Secretary John Kerry at the gathering would literally state:

Our European Allies have spent more than 20 years with us working to integrate Russia into the Euro-Atlantic community.

By “integrating” Russia, of course, Kerry means overthrowing any independent national political order that exists in Moscow and replacing it with one that answers to Wall Street, London, and now Brussels. This can be seen clearly in attempts by the West to replicate its model of “color revolution” within Russian territory itself.

This is a good example of Russian insanity. When "The West" talks about integrating countries into its community, they are talking about opening up trade restrictions and expanding economic relations, mainly between private companies. When the Russia hears about integration, they immediately think "imperialistic expansion and installing puppet governments." Because that's what the Russia's policy itself is, or was, most of the time. (Sure, USA is guilty of that too at times, but USA is not the entirety of "the west")
619  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could someone provide evidence that the majority of Russians aren't insane? on: August 31, 2014, 06:29:58 AM
Kluge, let me reverse the question. As this whole "Russians are insane" stigma is a Western invention (I think it originated in the Hollywood propaganda film "The Hunt for Red October", but maybe earlier), and as those who make a hypothesis have the burden of proving it, let me ask:

Could someone from the West provide evidence that the majority of Russians are insane?

Putin is as close as you can get to a dictator without actually being called a dictator, and 80% of Russians support him? Even George W Bush never got anywhere near that amount of support, despite being an imperialist asshole.
620  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: August 31, 2014, 05:37:55 AM

I did. I know what it is. I want to know why YOU want a global soviet empire.

Global Soviet Empire? LOL

You have an amazing imagination, it leaps through the universe Shocked

But that's what you keep promoting, when you keep saying you wish EU and USA will collapse economically, and Russia will win this war and its war on Ukraine. What, you think if EU and USA collapses, and Russia wins, it will stop with just Ukraine?

So, again, I ask, why do you want a Global Soviet Empire so much?
