6081  Economy / Economics / Re: We Wanted Safer Banks. We Got More Inequality. on: August 10, 2018, 01:11:03 PM
The naive people with leftist ideas think that more regulations and more taxation means less inequaliy.
This thesis has been proven wrong so many times in the history of human civilization.
I like what she says "banks follow the money".Dan Lock says that bank will only give you loan when you don't need that loan(you have enough money). If you really need a loan for building a business or something important,a bank will never give you a loan.

Because banks are much more hesitant when it comes to extending loan to a customer, especially since the 2008 crisis. It is not because there is no more money but just because the banks are more suspicious especially when the markets are not in their best days. If you have money, it's a sign of solvency for them and therefore a sign of confidence.
6082  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain Adoption to Save Banks $27 Billion Annually by 2030: Research.. on: August 10, 2018, 12:49:22 PM
I knew banks are closely looking at the blockchain technology because they can save a lot of money by reducing the costs. What is surprising me is according to the graph Asian countries will benefit most from this technology compared to EU/USA. I completely thought the opposite.

Exactly my thought. I was surprise to see Asian benefiting more from Blockchain adoption. Does it mean that there's plenty of banks in Asia to say that least? Or almost all banks in that region will embrace Blockchain because they welcome this technology with open arms? Or are there more banks in the horizon that will emerge in Asia with Blockchain-based solutions already in place?
dunno since I don't know any Asian banks but it could because it's the area that will invest the more to evolve their banking industry. Or I am thinking it can be because Asia will be the most important area to use cross-border payments if their international trades are increasing (more export)

. So according to you, you are fine with stealing identity pictures just because you "do not consider it objectively and not applicable to your project" and you "analyzed" a photo…
As for the photographs allegedly taken from the runoff and their attitude to public coverage of personal life, we already answered earlier. Read the previous posts. Save both our and your time.

Yes, Yes, Yes. I understand you steal photos from someone else on the WWW just because you think it looks great, and you're okay with the consequences! Don't try to spin the problem "Save both our and your time."

Ok, next time we will definitely turn to you for help, in case we need consultations on the topic of "Design". You have a wonderful taste.

Oh man, no way! I don't want to find me listed on your website with a name found with FakeNameGenerator and a personal photo taken from a doctors profile directory or Pixabay.
6085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Discussion]How to decentralize the price of the bitcoin? Self-moderated. on: August 09, 2018, 07:06:46 PM
I plan on writing more on topic about this, but to anyone that argues that Satoshi's vision was to create Bitcoin to be a currency and not an asset... Sorry, but that's not a valid argument to use to implicate that Bitcoin should be used solely as a currency.

Take actual fiat currency, for example. It's made (literally) as a currency. Does that mean I need to spend it all and not hold any in savings, stocks, bonds, 401k, etc.? Just because Satoshi's vision of Bitcoin was intended to operate as a currency doesn't mean that we can't HODL, and I think it's about time everyone stopped using this as an argument as to what's slowing down Bitcoin's progress. Roll Eyes

The Satoshi's vision to create Bitcoin as a currency is a valid argument. He didn't create a cryptocurrency to become an asset. This is valid for Bitcoin but not only, for all the previous digital currencies created before Bitcoin

Of course, we don't deny you can save/hold some coins like we do with a saving account in fiat but there is a difference between HODL 100% of your income and using your paycheck or coins for your daily needs and save what you can save at the end of the month.

If people are hoping to get a cryptocurrency and its advantages to be able to use it in their investment portfolio and don't really care about the purpose of it then it's not going to work as it's supposed to be

6086  Other / Meta / Re: Account Email Address Get changed And Account is Banned. on: August 09, 2018, 06:34:15 PM
There are far too many compromised accounts to think that this is coming from the users themselves, either because they have a weak password, or use the same password on multiple sites. The rate is too high.

While the user receives the email, instead to insert a link to lock the account, shouldn't there a link to recover the account too?
6087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: August 09, 2018, 06:01:50 PM
ZenCash is a relatively excellent project, the current encrypted currency market is in a bear market, and the price of ZenCash has fallen a lot, but the future development is still worth looking forward to.

Since it is the whole crypto market that is failing you're safe, it's not like if Zencash was the only one. Also just to remind you, one year ago the coin value was about 5$ and today $20 or more.
6088  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ideas for bitcoin sites that are needed? on: August 09, 2018, 05:45:19 PM
What about something with Amazon

Basically, people could buy anything from Amazon but within your site. Not sure how to implement the idea. Maybe using services like BitPay.
You could make a clone from Amazon website, people buy items (delivered by Amazon) and pay in cryptos. The coins are converted to fiat automatically (with Bitpay or any other) and your Amazon account is automatically topped up with a bank account (the one you used to receive BitPay payments)
6089  Economy / Speculation / Re: it was obvious on: August 09, 2018, 05:25:10 PM
Anyone remember the 2013-2014 period? Don't you think we are seeing the same situation?

The Bitcoin price dropped from +$1,000 to +$200 within 1 year. The value had been divided by 5 so and then stayed around $200 or $300 with some occasional spikes during 2 years

If you compare with the ATH back in December at $20,000 and divide by 5, it gives $5000 and it's highly possible for December (or before) 2018 if you think about it. It will be the same duration and about the same months. If it effectively does like before and stays for 2 years it brings us to the next halving.

So finally, the Bitcoin value will be crawling around $5,000 with some occasional spikes ($6,000-$6,500) until we come to the next halving.
Does it make sense?
6090  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF .. do we really need it? on: August 09, 2018, 04:46:31 PM
@ICOselector2018z

The dip started before the SEC postpones their decision, so the 10% is not related to this news.. And while you mention the 45 days it can also be a lot longer, up to February next year (if I am correct). I don't think we (the crypto community) need it as other users say, because it's not going to give us something. Other than to see an increase in the cash flow to bring fresh money injected into the market
6091  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we moving towards Centralized Private Blockchains? on: August 09, 2018, 03:44:42 PM
I am surprised to see an economist saying the USD is backed by gold... Roll Eyes

There is no such thing as centralized blockchain. We all know how the technology works, how it become more secure because of decentralization. There are many loop holes in the economist in statement though it true that establishments will use private blockchain but the thing is that, it will cost them a lot to make a blockchain because it needs a lot of people to engage in the network to make it decentralized for security feature and hiring a programmers or a group of programmers that will create, develop and update the network. It still much cheaper to avail services of existing platforms that is proven effective.

Private blockchains are usually centralized and they do exist. Sure it costs money to create but the rewards are a lot bigger and for a long-term (security, operating costs, time-saving,...)

Try Blockcypher explorer (but do not use it if the address receives a high volume transactions because it won't work) but it isn't compatible with SegWit addresses https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/subscribe/

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/08/08/bitcoin-price-falls-after-sec-postpones-key-etf-decision.html

This news from 17 minutes ago should be the reason of the current dip. Obviously insider information made the dip happen before the news hit, so as pretty easily predicted by anyone that wasn't delusional enough to think the ETF would pass, we are now going to shed all the noobs and speculators that heard somewhere how the ETF was coming and we would be going to the moon next morning.

Probably new speculative pump before the next decision which of course be a rejection. Until all the ETF noobs are shaken out of the market we can continue going up without them.

ETF speculators will always come back, don't worry "Follow The Money" Also the dip started the last week of July, it's a too long period of time up to today in my opinion. It could also be the fact that the wave of ETF speculators has come to its end.
6094  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at 4500$-5000$ August-September 2018 !!! on: August 08, 2018, 03:23:30 PM
He's probably right, the market is pretty gloomy these days. I was preparing for that but not so much. There are a lot of parameters to take into consideration, and it's really hard to compare with an earlier period. It would have been possible if it had happened a dozen times before. I agree with @bitbunnny. Hopefully, it won't go below $6,000

6096  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin Wallets on: August 08, 2018, 02:53:19 PM

Why do you recommend hardware wallet that you have to pay thousand dollars to secure your money?
It's all about cold storage When you manage a $x,xxx or $xx,xxx funds and more buying a $100 wallet is negligible especially considering the level of security you get. You can also buy a cheap smartphone or a Raspberry Pi and use it as your hardware wallet

So according to you, you are fine with stealing identity pictures just because you "do not consider it objectively and not applicable to your project" and you "analyzed" a photo that you liked? Which expert would like to have his name tied with the photo of someone else? Using your logic it would be ok to create an ICO using Kardashian selfies.

No, because nobody is interested to know someone using the photo of someone else

~snip~

That's about what I wanted to say in this topic a few days ago Can you stop calling Bitcoin an investment? (unfortunately, I didn't get a decent discussion in.) and in addition Up to Two-Thirds of Bitcoin Transactions Have No Economic Value. The percentage of Bitcoin transactions for illegal activities is negligible (well I exaggerate a little, just minimal) Nowadays people prefer to use other privacy-centric coins. Five years ago the analysis of blockchain data was saying up to 90% of transactions are related to illegal activities, nowadays the percentage is only 10%. (1)

Crypto speculators now are the majority responsible for the Bitcoin transactions (1) and so making it an asset. It's sad but it's the reality and we have reached the point that it won't be reversible

Something to say?

Mainnet is attracting a lot of coins to move to their servers and they are actually doing it. Recently, Zilliqa and TRON joined Mainnet. Hopefully, this will give them a boost and their competitors will also get interested to join mainnet in the process.
