621  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] [NEW RATES] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: January 31, 2015, 07:42:25 PM
In reference to the single image posts, there is currently nothing in the rules that state that single image posts are not allowed. Therefore there is no reason why single image posts should be excluded (unless they are in a thread that is otherwise excluded).

It is known that marco has a large number of accounts in his control so it is possible that LOBSTER is under marco's own control (meaning he owns it). This would explain his disregard for the rules with this person.

I would personally go to bit-x at this point seeking payment. This is not marco's signature campaign, it is bit-x's and marco is only acting as escrow, bit-x is ultimately responsible if marco does not pay

No, they pay Marco because he is trusted and knows how to use his judgment properly. They don't want, nor have the time to deal with payouts and running the campaign, hence the reason for choosing such a qualified, trustworthy individual.
He may make oversights, if so, I'm sure he'd be happy to correct them. But, I highly doubt complaining and nagging and running to the exchange will work out favorably...and if it did, I'd think Marco would more than likely remove such a person from this campaign in future months.
622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges on: January 31, 2015, 06:06:44 AM
I have done everything everyone has said but I keep running into stumbling blocks. Is there away to buy bitcoins with a mastercard and no checking account and that will send the bitcoins to my wallet? This is really all I need to know.

No, it would be too easy for people to use stolen cards and the transactions would be reversed.
Have to link a bank account or use localbitcoins.
623  Economy / Services / Re: GAW MINERS PAYS FOR YOUR SIGNATURE >>> HIGH RATES 50posts = 0.1BTC JOIN US! on: January 30, 2015, 05:16:47 PM
Did you actually hear anything from GAW about it? Or was it just silence which means we had to stop?

That would be interesting to know. After all the work EP put into running this successful campaign for months and months, I'd hope they gave him a little heads up and a huge sign of recognition and appreciates for everything.

I emailed them on January 6th but didn't get a clear yes or no, that's why I said you could gamble and keep the sig.  I understand they might not want to continue, as we've been doing this for months and the campaign has served its purpose. I was innitially asked to run it for 2 months, so I'm amazed we went this far.

That's is incredibly graceful of you and it's clear you have a bit of class.
After going 7 months longer than their original 2 month request, it seems (from an outside perspective) that they should have had the decency to give you a clear heads up that the campaign was over, along with a nice letter of appreciation...Possibly even a nice, aged single-barrel bourbon as a parting gift (ok, that's just my ideal parting gift  Grin )
Anyway, I do personally thank you for how smooth you were able to run this campaign for all the months I was involved.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are merchants not serious about the advantages of Bitcoin? on: January 30, 2015, 11:14:04 AM
You would rather call it a gamblers fallacy, that the price can't go lower . Thats what most of the people holding bitcoin have the mindset about .

You're missing the point. In both strategies I suggested, Joe is essentially keeping his Bitcoin. Except with number 2, he is actively helping to raise the price level, on two ends (bitcoin economy, and market demand).

If Joe does think the price will go lower, then he's better off spending his BTC anyway (now that it still buys him $200 worth of stuff), rather than spending $200 and keeping his BTC.

Or, better yet, he buys more- thereby decreases his cost per Bitcoin.
He bought one for $450.
Goes out and buys 4 more @ $200/each. Essentially, he bought each coin for $250/each (1250/5).
BTC could make that kind of value back at some point on any given day.

it still doesnt make sense to pay $450 for a btc and spend it on a hookers and blow  a month later when its worth $200 ,
if you have $200 in cash use that to pay  the hookers and blow and hopefully the btc will go back to $450+
most people are not interested in taking a personal loss just  to stimulate the bitcoin economy ,thats the reality

But had they bought at $450, then BTC goes up to $700, he's in a better spot....doesn't matter.
You missed the point that if an individual buys in at a price point and valuation drops, they have an opportunity to buy more at the lower valuation, bringing down the overall price per eact BTC that they had purchased.
625  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-01-28] Bill Gates: Digital Currency Can Help the Poor, But Not Bitcoin on: January 30, 2015, 10:46:34 AM

Shocking that Warren Buffet's best friend would agree with Warren.
626  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-01-29] McDonald’s might start accepting Bitcoin soon on: January 30, 2015, 10:41:36 AM
I think folks are totally misplaced on this one. It's going to be pay with a smile or some such thing. They have no idea and dont care what bitcoin is.

That's what I'm leaning towards. Some kind of promotion that for the day after the Superbowl all Big Macs will cost one smile (or similar one day free-type promotion to get lines out the door).
627  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS Fundraising(Bitcoin) in US on: January 30, 2015, 10:12:32 AM
Alright, if my first sentence provoke Bitcoin fan.. I apologize. I marked it with strike tag now.

I mean to say Bitcoin is begin used by many people including terrorists. I dont mean to invite trouble.
Terrorists are using WAY more dollars than bitcoins. What's the point?

And way more oil than any other revenue stream.

hum?
is coinbase exchange so low in volume that can not be put in the list Huh

Yeah, those numbers are off. Pretty sure Coinbase has the most volume out of any exchange, given their partnerships with all the large companies that accept BTC as form of payment.
632  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who got burnt today! on: January 27, 2015, 07:40:34 AM

I prefer to buy high, then sell low. Key is- I make up for it by doing tons of volume.

633  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins on: January 27, 2015, 07:29:36 AM

Do you plan to expand the currency section (banknotes)?

Currently there are only 3 items, all 'out of stock'.

If so, are those banknotes 'uncirculated' or in random condition?

Also, do you ship worldwide, or US only?

Amagi, would you like to buy some 'Silver Certificate' notes to get back in stock? I have roughly 100 (circulated) that I was going to put on ebay at $2.75/each...I'd happily sell to you for $2/each (gives you 22.5% markup on each and saves me Paypal and Ebay fees and mailing out mulpiple orders, could be a win-win for us).
(Also, I have higher end Silver Certificate notes I could part with a few at a fair price for us both, including some serial number collectables and uncirculated notes, 2 consecutive & uncirculated serial numbers, and many *star note Silver Certificates.)
Will email pictures if requested.

PM me if interested.
634  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it really THAT bad right now? on: January 25, 2015, 06:45:29 AM
Remember the pattern? Just check the charts from 10th May, 2014 to 11th June, 2014... The same pattern is going on currently, what do you think?

Will it still be bad now?

So I don't have to look up the prices from last year, would you just tell what happened?

At this point, we just need to bring this scam to an end which is why are are all here.

You right.

We should also set up a vote as to whom should receive Josh's cars...I'll start with one vote for 'tins'.
 Cheesy

I'll give you my vote for 20 bucks, but you'll have to "stake" it in an "excel spreadsheet" for 90 days after you receive it before you can use it.  Remember all the upvotes I gave you for free on Reddit?  You can trust me, look at these pictures of my kids!

"excel spreadsheet"...I ain't none teenager. How am I supposed to understand your fancy tech language?  Cry
636  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: January 24, 2015, 06:14:52 AM

Bit-x has been a decent signature campaign for sure im currently on my second month, no problems with first month & yeah competition always good for the posters.

Second and many more months to come will continue flawlessly!

I really hope so. I liked EvilPanda, but did not like the company of the campaign he was running. This one is a win-win, I like Marco (or appreciate the regular forum contributions, as I am a forum addict) and like the Exchange.
Long live Bit-x!

638  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9% on: January 24, 2015, 06:06:01 AM
Hopefully he will run

Rand will run when the time is right, and not sooner.  He is cagey as all get out, and so is Kelly.

He's young and may play kingmaker in 2016, setting himself up for it to be unquestionably 'his turn' in 2020 or 2024 (as he continues to gain stature and influence as a Senator).

The Paul family is playing the long game; they are running a marathon, not a sprint.   Cool

As wise people often do.
I'm looking forward to another election between a Clinton and a Bush for 2016! How exciting would that be?!?
639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - now 50% off!!! on: January 24, 2015, 06:02:37 AM
It could very very well still be a time to get cheap Bitcoins, that's right. When I look at the long-term charts, I can't but think that we're currently at a big dip and prices we won't see again - ever. But if you're lucky you may see another re-test of the bottom and thus, an even better opportunity to buy some cheap coins!

Along with that, I imagine there were a number of people that sold off some BTC as the credit card bills from Christmas presents just starting coming in.
End of February should put us right back at true market value.
IMHO.
640  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - now 50% off!!! on: January 23, 2015, 01:13:57 PM
Buy some now!  Bitcoin is 50% off.  Sale ends soon.  What a great deal.  After you double your money, you can buy your wife a nice gift.
wait what?  50% off?
Yep - it is worth at least $440 today but you can get some on just about any exchange at $220!  Half off.  Great price man.  Run.

This is funny but when I bought in at $75 per BTC and tried to sell off during the peak I could not and ended up selling off at around $500 per BTC! after the price started to plummet! And got owned by GOX and BTC-E and Coinbase, such a terrible experience so far but well worth the lessons taught about the internet and "selective scamming"

Hate riding this wave and hope the liquidity is better the next bubble burst!
Wait, what?
You lost money at MtGox. Ok, so far I can follow, but BTC-E and Coinbase also took your money?
Hard to believe.

They put temporary holds on a few suspicious accounts...asked for extra info to cover themselves from scammers (and cover the rest of us). A few people lost a couple weeks to sell at higher prices due to these security measures.
In the long run, showed how secure and safe it is to use Coinbase. I'm sure it was frustrating for those few people for those couple weeks, but kept the BTC community safer from scammers trying to pull off a big one on a major exchange.
