1421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.6 HARDFORK MANDATORY UPDATE on: April 29, 2014, 02:17:06 AM

The dogecoin subreddit surpassed the Star Trek subreddit and the Simpsons subreddit today in subscribers too.

That's pretty cool.
I have a buddy that is not into cryptos, by any means.
He stopped by this afternoon and told me that Dogecoin was sponsoring a nascar driver (obviously, I already knew). He just got the biggest kick out of that.
Doge really is blowing up into the mainstream.

Didn't you know that it wasn't Thomas Edison or GE that invented the light build and it is just another misinterpretation being spread as the truth?

But Edison created a light bulb that lasted and did a successful job of marketing that bulb, did he not?

Isn't that common knowledge?
1423  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy on weekend or Monday? on: April 28, 2014, 09:23:39 PM
Hi I have a dilema.
I would like to buy some BTC and my thoughts are like this:

- During weekend bank transffers doesn't work so people have less fiat during saturday and sunday, hence there should be less buys then less -> price will likely be lower that it would be if money transffers would work.

So if there are not any big news for tomorrow I suppose that should buy today.

Whad do you think?

I do not think bitcoin has the proven price stability to always go one way or another. Price sometimes changes drastically from day to day, regardless of weekday or weekend.

This team could learn alot from the Noble Movement.

I recommend you "DEV's" head over to their thread and do some reading.

I think it's too late though. I'm so glad I got out when I did.

Sorry, but any time a new coin has to self-moderate their thread to delete any criticism, it tells me the coins is worthless.
1425  Economy / Services / Re: GAW MINERS PAYS FOR YOUR SIGNATURE >>> HIGH RATES 50posts = 0.08BTC on: April 28, 2014, 07:02:48 PM

I keep seeing people posting that they are renewing for next month. I was under the assumption that there is nothing in place for another month of paid signature marketing.
Has there been an announcement that I missed that this campaign will go on for another month?

speaking of westerns.. back to the future!

Hello Macfly! Back to the future 2 was my favorite one

same as well. #2 is best, then #1, then #3.

Biff was the best! "2 Macflys with the same gun!"

I believe it was 2 & 3 that were filmed simultaneously. Michael J Fox only had a limited break from his television show, so their only choice was to film both sequels at the same time. Then, release at different dates.
Worked out well for them. All great movies.
80's movies were the best!
1429  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SaveGox.com on: April 28, 2014, 07:49:58 AM
Hey guys!

I'm on the SaveGox team. If you guys have questions for the team, please post them.

I'm opening this thread because Goat closed the other one.

Thanks,

-Jon

I am surprised that there is a save gox team. Most people in the BTC community would like gox to be forever wiped away from our history without reminders of the terrible events that took place with mt gox.
1430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of BTC end of 2014 on: April 28, 2014, 07:43:41 AM
but surely there's no guarantee that we'll ever hit the vertical stage of the S-curve. Widespread adoption may never happen.
I am curious at what price people gonna realize this is what happened. How many people have to be robbed about their money when they realize this was one big project with just one bull period which ended in zero or nearby zero.

Such is the risks that we take.
1431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I one of the few who is glad China is banning itself? on: April 28, 2014, 07:41:45 AM

Yes.
Bitcoin hit $270 before the China boom. With all the press and exposure over the past year, it should be significantly higher, without the involvement of China. The only effect they are having at this point is creating uncertainty in the market. Without them, the market will grow well beyond where it was last year.
Stability is worth more than all the yuan in the world! (Obviously, not really, but making a point.)

Could you explain what it is that you are referring to?

I don't even touch the stuff, but those do look pretty! Cheesy

if price doesn't spike a lot
im pretty sure most people will stop mining and diff will come way down.

That would be wonderful since there will be less reward per block in another 300 or so more blocks.
I plan on holding the bulk of my Dogies until rewards are set at 10k each.
Although, I will continue to spend them as needed.

Is anybody still dedicating any sort of major hashing power to MOON?

I can think of more then 10 reasons.... =|

Like being the world's greatest scam.
1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just bought my first tangible thing with bitcoin - so exciting on: April 28, 2014, 06:38:31 AM
Congratulations, I haven't bought anything with bitcoin other than miners but somehow buying miners doesn't quite have the same feeling as buying something else that is directly or indirectly related to bitcoin i think. I have this personal principle of not spending bitcoins other than on things that can net me back bitcoins, like miners, gambling sites, tradebots etc. But I would love to at least try purchasing a cup of joe as they say from a btc-accepting brick-and-mortar.

Might I recommend a small silver round as your first non-mining related purchase.
There is something about holding a piece of precious metal that makes a person feel good inside. Using your hard earned bitcoin to buy it is fulfilling.
1438  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to record police encounters without losing your video on: April 28, 2014, 04:48:20 AM

Sounds like the kind of thing my brother would love.
I'm too much of a wuss. I'd just accept the ticket, not talk back, be on my way...
1439  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [2014-04-26] CNBC: Chase Banks closing accounts of porn stars: Report on: April 28, 2014, 04:34:41 AM
They should have moved to Bitcoin long ago. Instead they chose to stick with the banks. And as a result, now they are facing account closures and freezing of their funds. So sad.  Sad

The article didn't say anything about funds being frozen. I googled it too and didn't find anything of the sort.
Granted, the whole thing is ridiculous, but nobody is losing their money. Just being told to take it somewhere else.
1440  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-27] FxM: First Global Bitcoin conference in China to Be Held in May on: April 28, 2014, 04:29:29 AM
it will be interesting to see how btc will evolve in china over the next years.

Once they allow it to be owned and used in an unrestricted manner, it will be worth 10x more than ever before. The thing is, it may take a couple years or a couple decades. Either way, those that buy in now and hold should be able to retire in comfort if they have enough patience.
