Be careful, there is a phishing fake blockchain address that has been stealing bitcoins.
Make sure to type in the correct blockchain.info
1362  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Good luck banning Bitcoin/CC's! It's now or never! on: May 01, 2014, 11:12:37 AM
I think after things shake out, bitcoin will end up being a replacement for the international money transfer system. No more wire transfers, no more western union, no more going to the currency office to send your remittance back to your home country. Just tap your phone and your money is in your home country, feeding your family.

The more people use it and see the simplicity, the more popular it will become. So many Mexican families near me send money back to their familes through Western Union. Imagine once the figure out how much they can save in transaction fees by using bitcoin. And that is just one example.
Bitcoin has so much growth potential.

Good luck with it.
Post on some attorney forums. They have a tremendous need and there is a never ending supply of lawyers.

360 seconds for newbie is too long.

At least there is no longer a newbie jail now. You have a "less annoying" newbie restriction than all of us here lol.

Ahh, the good old days... Smiley
1365  Other / Off-topic / Re: In what sports do men and women compete at the closest to the same level? on: May 01, 2014, 11:07:51 AM
I'd say gymnastics. Coordination and elegance is something that sex should not be a factor. Also figure skating

Beat me to it.
Gymnastics all the way.

That was a low quality FUD rant if you ask me.  No style if you ask me, next time make it your own lol.

Sounds like it.
First the mock us. Then, they joins us.
1369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining? on: May 01, 2014, 10:42:08 AM
my opinion is that you can still make some profit from mining if you sell the miner at the right moment...try bitmaintech.com they have the best offers

I don't know. It's pretty brutal right now, especially for those of us with scrypt miners.
1370  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm tired of the United States on: May 01, 2014, 10:37:48 AM
I can only imagine how life is in US. Try, for instance, live in Eastern Europe.

I have no frame of reference as to how life is over there.
Is it more free than the U.S.? How people complain about the governments as much as we do?
1371  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: May 01, 2014, 10:35:15 AM
School of Rock,too bad

Ha! And I liked this one.

'You're not hardcore, no you're not hardcore. Unless you live hardcore...'
Jack Black was still really funny about the time this came out.
1372  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: May 01, 2014, 10:33:56 AM
About Schmidt was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
I hate turning movies off mid-way through them, but I couldn't finish this one.

I haven't watched it yet. But looking at the film critic sites, this movie has got extremely good ratings. Check this: IMDB: 7.2 / 10. Rotten Tomatoes - 85%, and Metacritic - 85%.  Grin

Just shows you how critics can't be trusted.

I have a buddy that fancies himself a film buff and loves About Schmidt.
I tried to enjoy it, but maybe I'm just not refined enough...it was so boring!

1374  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is College Worth it? So many graduates In Debt/Underemployed on: May 01, 2014, 10:23:47 AM
My wife and I always say that my kid can do whatever he wants.  College is great in terms of the social aspects to it, and living away from home for the first time, etc.  And I think you learn a lot, in certain courses.  However kids should do what makes them happy.  You can get by just fine in a technical trade or artist, as long as you know what you're in forand it could be harder to get a job.

I feel similar about my son, though I will push that he does go to college.
My wife and I are very, very different. She got her bachelor's, then 2 different master's, just finished her doctorate.
I could not bring myself to make it through one year of college and dropped out...too much of a social butterfly. Cheesy
But we are an example of college degrees not making or breaking life goals and careers. My wife is a school superintendent and I own a fairly large insurance marketing organization. Even better than the money, we are both HAPPY in our fields. There is an old saying that is very true, 'If you are happy in your career, you'll never have to work another day in your life'.
To sum up my hopes for my son. More than just telling him to go to college or don't go, I will encourage him to find a career path that fulfill him and teach him to work hard. Loving what one does and hard work will make a person more successful than any plaque on the wall.
1375  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm tired of the United States on: May 01, 2014, 10:06:02 AM
No way you can defeat US.

No need to defeat the US. The US will disintegrate on itself. Just check the disintegration of the USSR. The USSR collapsed as the war machine became unsustainable. The same will happen with the US.

Unfortunately you're on to something. The U.S. is spending itself into oblivion.
That is what draws me to Bitcoin.
My wife believes in traditional "safe" investments. So, we have her 403B, Roth IRA's.
I do not believe the average person gains from those, plus with the way the government is headed, how do we know that they are even safe? Therefore, I turned to non-traditional "risky" investments....Bitcoin, metals, property.
Should the U.S. every decide to seize its citizen's wealth to pay off the bad debt, I have hedged my bets.
1376  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Over 1000 Activity Thread! on: May 01, 2014, 09:57:59 AM
Very impressive, congratulations; how many of you is there? I can only speculate from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist

You wouldn't have been able to do that without Bitcointalk...obviously Grin

Not really sure.  Based on the responses to this thread, there is only one other person like me out there.   Cool

Congrats to you...it is an achievement.
1377  Other / Off-topic / Re: Oscar Pistorius case on: May 01, 2014, 09:56:53 AM
I carry a gun everyday and keep one ready every night. If I killed someone, as described in his defense, then I should go to jail because it was my fault they died. I don't know know the law there, but here if you blindly shoot through a door then you are going to prison.

Yeah, but he's rich and white so that tips the justice scales significantly.

So, being white and rich means you can kill someone over there without being sent to jail? I don't think that's true..     If that's true, I'm sure many other countries will tell that country how to use justice.

You can get away with a lot when you're rich or just white. Why do poor black people go to jail for the same crimes whilst white people don't (or get far lesser sentences?) I'm sure we'll soon see when Pistorious gets a lean sentence and not the sentence a usual murderer gets.

Normally I agree, but not with this case. They have way too much world media focused on them to let him off with a lite sentence in a clear cut brutal murder.

Mag creators?

Are you unfamiliar?
1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get rid of daily New coins on: May 01, 2014, 09:25:28 AM
We can do something to stop it .
Like clearing shitcoin .

I'd be all in favor of it. Need some ideas.
It's amazing that newbies still just on new coins with 3% PREMINE or 4% PREMINE or more.
Really is craziness that they expect it to be worth anything.
But how to find a good coin ?It's really  a hard job.

Stick with the big 3- Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin.
1380  Other / Meta / Re: Off-topic board flooded by NSA? on: May 01, 2014, 09:24:00 AM
Sure it means something. It means if you post enough nonsense spam, you get paid more to add spam to your signature. Of course the thread about hot asian girls really could be the NSA Smiley.

Being paid or not being paid...there never needs to be a reason to debate the merits of hot Asian girls.  Wink
