Bitcoin is getting bigger that ever.
More people= more random threads.

I do not believe it means anything.
1382  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 within 3 years? on: May 01, 2014, 09:17:52 AM
Of course if it goes that high I will be happy (and will sell!).  However I'd be happy if it stablized around 1000USD and simply became easier to use in everyday situations.  Recently I bought something from a website and apparantly my credit card payment went through paypal, I thought: how stupid, why can't I pay with bitcoin?

I hope the future finds me soon!

I think that the best way to raise the price of btc is in its adoption.
The Bloomberg story was great to hear.
We just need more like it!
1383  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: May 01, 2014, 09:15:54 AM
I just watched The Perks of Being a Wall Flower.
Its was pretty nice. Now looking to watch 12 Monkeys

This one was surprisingly very good

"Memento" was very good, "some likes it hot" is an excellent old movie

Memento is super good.  You definitely have to be in the mood to think though, or you will get lost so fast...

Right, I've liked The Prestige and Rounders as well

The Prestige was good...Christian Bale hardly ever (if ever) does a bad movie.   Rounders was good too.   Supposedly #2 is in the works with the entire cast except perhaps John Malkovich coming back.

Edward Norton used not to make any bad movies as well

He went on a great run in the late 90's early 00's.
Fight Club and Rounders will always be classics.
1384  Economy / Speculation / Re: I give up on: May 01, 2014, 09:11:59 AM
Bitcoin will go way higher than 1000 Dollars. If you don't believe this I hope you sell out now for a loss. More for the rest of us. Thanks.

I believe so too.
Think about where it is today versus where it was May 1st of last year...
1385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get rid of daily New coins on: May 01, 2014, 09:10:42 AM
We can do something to stop it .
Like clearing shitcoin .

I'd be all in favor of it. Need some ideas.
It's amazing that newbies still just on new coins with 3% PREMINE or 4% PREMINE or more.
Really is craziness that they expect it to be worth anything.
1386  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Raising children on: May 01, 2014, 09:08:55 AM
Show them how you love them. Teach them good morals. Teach them how to deal with problems. Teach them dedication to work. Teach them how to love and respect their parents, other peoples and their own.

And spend lots and lots of time with them!
1387  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - on: May 01, 2014, 09:08:10 AM

I received payment and left positive trust.
Really happy! I thought the payments were not until tomorrow.

Nice to see this is still kicking.
1389  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: April 30, 2014, 10:56:25 PM
Does it matter if we don't have the answers but we question everything u say?

There are no answers to some questions, right?

Does a question always need an answer?
1390  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Raising children on: April 30, 2014, 09:46:14 PM

It is not sheltering children by not letting them see some of the horrors of life before they are ready. It could lead to being traumatized, issues, anxiety, etc down the road.
Each child is different. Each nation is different. A child in Vietnam would be more prepared to deal with extreme poverty than a child growing up in St. Louis, Missouri. I don't think there can be a blanket way to raise a child.
My wife and I will teach are children the realities of life, but will not do it before they are mentally prepared.

When do you consider that a average kid is mentally prepared? 18?

I think a person's ground morals are set at a early age and I don't think they change when growing up unless they experience some unusual bad event.

As I said before, I don't think a blanket statement could be used such as 'this is the age a child is mentally prepared to deal with the atrocities in Darfur'. I see it (and this is my own humble opinion) as something that parents should decide on a case by case basis. It could vary greatly within the same family among siblings.

Wow, great news.
It's nice seeing more and more big name businesses accepting btc.
I'd love to see a big name box retail store accept btc as a payments source.
1394  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need cash today for my BTC on: April 30, 2014, 09:21:55 PM
Is there anyway I could sell some Bitcoin for cash in my bank account today? I have a bill due that I need to pay Today. I'm a registered user of both Coinbase and another exchange, Coinbase says 2-4 days until sold BTC hits your bank account, other exchange says up to a week...

Are there any options that get processed same day? I would even be willing to sell some on here to a trusted user and/or using escrow. Let me know guys, thanks.

P.S. In class right now I will check this as often as possible then be done here in a couple hours.

Where are you located?
I'm sure we have a large enough user base where you would be able to find someone to meet up with and transfer the 0.2 BTC for $80.
1395  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time Does Not Exist on: April 30, 2014, 08:41:52 PM
if you were to stand outside an event horizon, and you saw an object get sucked in, it would take what seems like forever for it to go inwards.. on the other hand, if you were the object being sucked in, it would happen within a matter of seconds. so there is no objective time, it's all just relative to the observer.

and then you have the observer effect - through your consciousness, you can affect reality (at the very least) on an atomical level.

I forget which book it was, but Kurt Vonnegut wrote one where on one planet time was linear. Those on the outside looking in could see what had been, what was, what was soon to happen. Only those inside, the ones living within, would experience time as it was. I really don't remember all the details, I read it back in high school, roughly 15 years ago. But I remember thinking it was a cool concept at the time.
1396  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much Have you Spent on Bitcoin Mining | Discussion on: April 30, 2014, 08:34:07 PM
only ~$20k in terms of USD, however I paid for it all in BTC... so it actually cost me 75BTC.

about 80% of it (by GH/s) is still "in the mail".

Total return about 3.5 BTC to date.

WINNING!

Yikes, that's pretty rough.
Were you screwed over in part of the bfl crud that went on?
1397  Economy / Economics / Re: IRS says we are are criminals now on: April 30, 2014, 08:05:27 AM

I'm sure there will be challenges and new rulings in the near future.
1398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bank of China & China Construction Bank announces bitcoin ban today 4/30/14 on: April 30, 2014, 07:48:45 AM

Wonderful news!
Now we won't have to deal with their hot mess anymore.

We seriously need a pool to help out all the little guys! come on pool owners!!? what are you waiting for?

They're waiting for a coin that hasn't been premined 4.5%

That is a massive premine.

how many did Aurora premine?

Why does that matter to you?

This coin has a 4.5% PREMINE

That is a huge percentage.

Actually you're wrong. This coin was set to have a 4.5% pre-mine but it looks like it'll be a little bit less now that the popularity is taking off. Also other coins have 10% premines or 50% while we are a fraction of that.

Doesn't make it any better.

4.5% is a huge PREMINE.
