Just a little reminder that the loan is due back tomorrow. Any issues let me know.

yea, i know. my last paycheck was 28 bucks. i'm actively looking for work to replace uber. as of now, i'm not going to make repayment tomorrow. let the late fees stack up. Sad

what happened to that 'guaranteed payment' uber was supposed to provide?

oh they're providing it... if you meet the terms. 90% ride request acceptance, being in the right area, etc. it's quite picky. i go to the bathroom for too long or grab a bite to eat and i lose the guarantee for the hour.

If you send me your current resume, I will see what I can do.

...uh... ok. pm me an email?

i really hope i'm able to get back into bitcoin mining someday... i enjoyed it. but my little 15 gigahash isn't even worth turning on right now - even if it is only 72 watts... just a light bulb. (i think. it's a bunch of the USB sticks from ASICMINER.)

got a great electric rate too. oh well.

Same here.  For as much as I'm a HODLER, it's just not the same as when you have an actual stake in mining.

The whole "supporting the network" really hits home, when you have a rig, are constantly monitoring it, upgrading CGminer, tweaking push pull fans so they blow a certain way....

Wish we could go back to 2012-early 2013 mining days.  When you could go small or big and still have fun doing it.

Nowadays, if you don't have a few terrahash, you're simply not even mining honestly.  Just spiking your electric bill for no reason...

and there was a time i dreamed of a terrahash mine... like, you know, two years ago or so...

MUST you keep falling, bitcoin? really? come on now. level out a little, ok? that's a good coin. come on, level out...

so, that was an interesting week. a trading range of, what, $100 or so over the 7 days? (i'm guessing based on charts i looked at over the week, but am not looking at now cause i'm lazy.) that's a heck of a thing, when that's more then 30% the price...
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hacked? Cryptography broken? Banned US and EU? or everybody just crazy? on: January 27, 2015, 09:31:13 PM
yea, that... that totally sounds reasonable, banning end to end encryption. uh huh. i'll get right on supporting that for my country!

or... perhaps not.

635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core not syncing? on: January 19, 2015, 11:24:31 PM
tried connecting via my phone as a wifi hotspot. posting from that connection now, so it obviously works... bitcoin core 0.10 rc3 is saying 5 active connections to the bitcoin network, but no block source available. stuck on block 339110.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core not syncing? on: January 19, 2015, 11:20:38 PM
Might it also have to do with this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=919373.0

also, i fail at asking for help, since i never even mentioned that in the op. blargh.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core not syncing? on: January 19, 2015, 10:59:27 PM

Quick way to check would be to use a different Internet connection, if you can.

Oh right. I'll... Ah! Use my phone.

What version?

Did you change anything in the default settings?

it's .9.3

only settings i've altered are the location of the data directory.

Hmm , maybe you have internet issues ?
Anyway you still can download the torrent file from here https://bitcoin.org/bin/blockchain/bootstrap.dat.torrent
Or simply try the version 0.10 RC3 Which is a lot faster in Synchronizing with the network then 0.9.3 or any other version .

internet issues would be a very likely case, honestly... fricken 3g cellular connection. ugh.

i'll grab the bootstrap and check out .10
altering datadir shouldn't make much of a difference. It would just start a new chain download in it's default location
I believe. Could be blocked ports?

nothing changed there.
