To emphasize on this, the multiple quoting here na qoute pyramid and not responding to different questions been asked. If you see post wey many people dun quote (e come belike 5 above quote) just delete others and leave the last person wey you wan respond to.

662  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What To Learn from Tinubu on: October 06, 2023, 02:09:41 PM
My Elders, uncle, brothers and sister I greet oh. I no sabi too much and this period i come dey think in the midst of wetin dey happen for Naija wetin I go learn from Tinubu. No vex, I know say somebody fit learn from bad and good. I don put few observation I make below i go like make una advice me and talk una own opinion as concern this topic.

You no suppose they learn the bad things or even list am, as na only good things are worth learning. Tinubu is a dirty man and anybody wey get sense go know that one but unlike others, the man use his own dirty money well na just say as him wan collect presidential power, him over do him own if not many people no for hate am the way dey hate am now and if this injustice was done to others like him (Atiku) we for overlook am but as him do am to a man of the power (Obi) na why everybody dey para.  Tinubu has some good character that can be learnt from like his Boldness, charisma and determination to win against all odds, the money wey him get just amplifier everything bothe the good and the bad.

Absolutely nothing good to learn from tinibu. except bad things.

No, even satan get sometimes to learn from, one good thing to learn form tinubu na the investment in people and when your turn come people wey you invest inside go repay you the favor. While others dey invest in things wey go only benefit dem, tinubu was investing in humans. He gave many man and woman political positions wey dun help them stand on their feet today. As wike help tinubu win rivers state for last election, I hear say when wike been dey do rerun, na tinubu help am defeat amaechi for rivers state as Amaechi been dun already they use federal power collect power from him hand. Weda we like Nigeria politics or not, the way e dey so if you wan enter politic and succeed, no forget to invest in humans and even carry this mentality go into other businesses and you go succeed.
663  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Lets Please Discuss Altcoins on: October 06, 2023, 01:48:54 PM
On this thread, i want us to focus on altcoins, you all will agree with me that diversification is very important in investment, and how do you diversify as a cryptocurrency investor?. You diversify by investing in some really good and promising altcoins alongside Bitcoin.

Not totally true because all cryptocurency follows Bitcoin and when you dey diversify you no support diversify for a related market. Assuming altcoins get their own trend and Bitcoin get e own then investing in altcoins when you wan diversify for dey make sense but since na Bitcoin dey control the whole market, anything wey happen to Bitcoin go still happen to altcoins so e just better to stick to Bitcoin. If you wan Invest for altcoins make e be say you wan just gamble or play with your spare money dem make you no go put for mind say you wan diversify. To diversify well you fit invest for landed properties like land or buy houses and rent am out. You fit still invest for the Nigeria stock market as people dey make better block from their.

Quote
This is why I am creating this thread for us as locals to discuss altcoins with potentials, what is that altcoin you feel will make its holders millionaires in the coming bull run, based on developments, use case and other facts and evidences you have?, please share with us, I am particularly interested to know and find new altcoins to invest in through this thread.

Any discussion wey you want for the board, you need to initiate am just as you dun do because na wetin people see wey dem go comment on. All discussion dey encourage here because we get something to learn from everything. I just hope e no go get buried like my own wey I been create Altcoins Speculation thread: What projects are you observing to invest & why. truth be say you fit make money from anything wey dey this industry but the risk for some no worth am like chasing after all those shitcoins dem wey na mostly decentralized exchange dem dey trade. Make we dey careful and a safe option na just to stick with Bitcoin but dat one no mean say you no fit profits from altcoins.
664  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Keep learning newbies, The forum has a lot to offer on: October 06, 2023, 12:58:53 PM
As fillipone rightly said in one of his posts, when you dedicate time to learning and readily share your knowledge with people in the forum, you grow not only in knowledge, but in the rewards of impacting meaningful knowledge "Merit". I'm now fully dedicated to continuous learning and contributions with a positive expectation of reaping the fruits of my labor pretty soon.

There are truths in those words, the more you learn the more knowledgeable you become and your impact on the forum will improve as now you won't be writing like most users do but your words will be full of positive contributions to discussion going on, on that particular thread. When that become a habit, you'll begin to get merit fans that'll find your content worth meriting regularly and you increase your rank. Quality contributions doesn't only add to your reputation on the forum but it also affect you outside the forum. The more you're around quality the more knowledgeable you are becoming as well.

I love the goals you have set for yourself, when goals are written that's already a one step closer to achieving that goals. Next you have to work towards those goals as just saying it doesn't mean it'll manifested. The forum appreciate quality so when you become a quality poster, you won't go unnoticed. Also just enjoy the forum while you're trying to increase in rank because the forum becomes easier when you're enjoying your time here learning and not just posting for signature quota.

You should know that no matter the punishment for the person behind these scandals, there will always be bad actors in the crypto ecosystem at the next bull run.
We need to be sure where we put our money, no matter how solid the project or exchange looks like, if the founders mismanage people fund,  we will be burned if we don't take the necessary measures, imagine those who believe Do kwon's Luna.

Are the culprit even getting punished enough, we had so many scams in the past years that's too many to keep track of all. We'll still have more scam events in the future because alot of users will come into the market as newbies when the market starts pumping. This new users won't be informed of the scammers tricks and will still fall for those shiny project that won't last after the bull market as they'll crash like others has done during the bear market. Most projects can't last through their first bear market because their hypes strategy won't work during the bear season. The advice would be, no matter how solid you think a project is, just know if it isn't Bitcoin don't Invest your money because those tokens can be dumped on you by their founders as they exit scam their investors.

Quote
It's just like profit from a bull run and be ruin by scammer or irresponsible player in the crypto ecosystem. Don't be too believing of anyone in the crypto ecosystem, especially with your hard earned money, tred with caution.

Put your money in guarantee investment like landed property if you won't be comfortable holding your Bitcoin through the bear season, Or better still hold fiats as they're better than stablecoin. No stablecoin can be depended on as they can collapse as other stablecoin has done or they lack liquidity for you to sell. Both centralized stablecoin and the decentralized ones had their pros and cons so is better to hold fiats during the bear market season or keep on holding your Bitcoin for the next bull market.
666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My First Advice To Beginner Traders on: October 06, 2023, 11:36:42 AM
Before I proceed any further it's important to know that sometimes our knowledge outside this forum may not equate our ranks here so  that doesn't mean quality information cannot be gotten from a low ranked person on this forum, some of us are good at what we do outside here. That been said let's quickly dive dip into the subject matter.

Obviously quality information can be gotten from lower ranked members, if you had heard that it can't from someone here, don't take it too serious as he/she must have made a mistake generalizing it due to the experience that most newly created accounts are turning out to be troll account or created just to spam the forum to gain activity for potential ranking up after getting the merits by any means they can't. We have had some quality newbie accounts that have gone on to become a popular name on the forum due to their quality, if you have the potential nothing is stopping you from achieving that too but don't post repeated content and expect us to call it quality.

Before you consider going into trading fully as a full time hustle or a hustle on the side, I advise you put the following to consideration first, I will be considering just two points and they are as follows:
1. Mindset.
2. Learning.

Contrary to trading, you can invest in Bitcoin and HODL to avoid the whole stress of trading but if you have made up your mind to trade, doing the two things listed above isn't enough. You can have the right mindset and be learning but you need more than that to have a successful career as a trader because the learning don't stop and the experiences is needed to have a successful career, you also have to know how to generate capital because you don't expect things to go smoothly. This advise though is a good start and if you keep building on them you'll have potential of having a successful career.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If not for Bitcoin on: October 06, 2023, 11:13:44 AM
Upon all this event that has took place,  the crypto industry would have completely collapse if not for the confidence and trust investors have in Bitcoin.

I believe we all know that at some point all this projects will fail as investors begin to lose interest in their service, the industry wasn't built on the reputation of those project so even though they leave the market the market will still be active as it was here before they came. Binance exchange been the biggest, even though it fails (which is evitable) that doesn't mean the industry failed because the market will still be active and running. The reputation of the industry is built on Bitcoin, without Bitcoin there will be no cryptocurency industry which is why it's recommended to invest in Bitcoin and ignore alternative currency or other services been offer that promise doubling your capital like staking and the rest. Build your foundation on Bitcoin and no matter what happens to the rest of the market, you won't be rekt.

The price of Bitcoin will only be affected by this misfortune and that's because a majority of them happens during the bear market and since there's already fear sentiment in the market people begin to panic and sell their Bitcoin which affects the price but only for a short while. The collapsing of project happening only add strength to the saying of buying only Bitcoin and forgetting about any other currency in the market and also it encourages the use of decentralized P2P exchanges.

Best Practice #1: 2FA, You Know?
Turn on that 2-factor authentication, mates. It's like a digital bouncer at your Bitcoin club. Keep the riff-raff out! 🕺

2FA are very important on our accounts as they can prevent hackers from gaining access to our account or carryout out unapproved transaction. They're a second layer of security but when using them, make sure you don't use a centralized 2FA from a centralized service like Google, Authy is better or any other decentralized authenticator app that don't store your keys online (on a centralized server). Also be sure to keep your backup keys safely in an offline manner that hackers can't get access to.

Tool #2: Browser Shields
For our non-native pals, browser shields like MetaMask can help spot scammy sites. They're like your online bodyguards, savvy?

Metamask isn't a recommended wallet to use and in regards to browser shield, using Brave Bowser offers you that protection and it's a more recommendable browser to use instead chrome, avoid anything related to Google, they're not the best when it comes to privacy and security.

And there are those who are most trusted known as DT members. Lastly staff, administrator, and founder.

As for DT they are the most trusted members of the forum. Do they hold the same powers? Like banning somebody? What are their limits? Can a DT be staff or moderator and vice versa. As for the rest of the ranks, I know enough.

DT aren't the most trusted, DT 1 is gotten by appointment by theymos and they're selected from a number of members that met the DT requirements DefaultTrust changes. DT2 are those trusted by DT 1. You can be among those with the most trust feedback yet, you're not a DT 1 member. DT don't have power to ban anybody on the forum, they don't have administrative power to delete posts or do any thing. Consider them to be police of the forum as their feedback on your profile has a lot of weight.

Yes anybody can be a DT member when they meet the requirements and a DT can also be a moderator/staff

_ Attend meet up and conference, the Bitcoin community is awesome.

Everything you said so far are basic knowledge that any beginner that joins the forum with the intention of learning will get to know very fast but I don't totally agree with two points and that's what I'll be reacting to. Attending meetups are not recommended because of privacy, we're meant to be private because the world isn't safe anymore. People with lots of money in the industry can easily become a traget at this meet up and conferences. You don't need to attend then to become well informed because you can get any resources that you need for your research and learning process on the internet. Beside most of this conference doesn't have much or anything to do with Bitcoin but an advertisement attempting to launch another shit project that'll fail like the rest are failing.

_join #bitcoin Twitter: it's less lonely with fellow holders.

Twitter is the worst social platforms to join because there are lost of distraction from moon boys on the twitter crypto space. You'll see lots of scammers disguise as traders claiming they can sell you a strategy that'll make you profits in days.or you see influencers hyping shitcoin as the next big thing in the market. If you're looking for a social platform to keep you company then joining the forum is the best option. Avoid twitter because it's full of altcoins getting hyped to pump and dump.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 05, 2023, 07:33:32 PM
1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

I won't do this because I have bad experience from doing exactly what this is advising. When you want to start a business and have already started saving towards that business, stick to that business because you would have done your research without any biased judgement and have seen the pros and cons of the business before you took your decision to start it. When you leave that business for a plan B, it usually doesn't work out well because that wasn't your first choice and your mind will always be on the first business. It's only on rare occasion would you fall in love with that second option that you just taught about as the first business isn't available for you to start. The potential of you losing everything is high and it doesn't make any sense to take such risk when you could have easily done the second option of looking for money to complete the capital for the business.

Quote
2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

This is the simplest and smartest thing to do. You have already raised 75% of the capital you needed to start the business why not continue, what's stopping you. With that amount you could get support from your love ones to complete the money because they'll see your determination to start the business or go to the bank to get a loan. In this case asking for a loan is for a greater good and you're not borrowing to waste on liability but for Investment that can yeild good returns for you to pay back the loan and interest. If you still don't what to do any of those then you can hustle for the money by working and you'll get more fulfilment when you achieve the full sum that you'll be so invested in starting the business.
672  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 05, 2023, 07:04:48 PM
There are many people around us, where their income is not enough to manage a family how do you manage your family and economy? There are many people who manage their family very well even though their income is very low in their personal life, how do you manage it?

I would start by saying, if you don't have a stable income to take care of a family don't start one. Alot of problems can be avoided by not doing this because when you start a family that you can't take care of them you'll begin having problems like Feeding problem, education problem, housing problems and other problems. Also don't get married to a liability, don't marry a girl that you'll have to provide everything, for the rest of her life. You're getting a partner and not a entering into a sponsorships. You'll love your wife and provide for her but it shouldn't be a situation that if you don't have she can't take care of herself. Before marrying make sure she has something doing so the both of you can put food on the table as you can never know what the future holds for your current job.

In a circumstance that something unfortunate happens and you were comfortable when you go married but now your income and that of you wife isn't sufficient to take care of your family, here are some suggestions of mind, adding to what others have said;
  • Equip yourself and your wife with skills that's based online so you can apply for a job that you can use as your side hustle to take care of some bills that would had removed money from your income. Instantaneously when income isn't enough, the first thing to do is to get another job or do something to add more income.
  • As you get more income coming in, you reduced your expenses so you can have enough to take care of your family. You can change schools for your kids from private to government, change house to a less costly one to maintain and get rid of many liability that you have in the house.
  • You can then use the money which you'll get as extra after doing the second advice to invest in assets, you can invest in business that'll give you passive income or in assets like Bitcoin that gives capital gains. You can also pick interest in building a business that gives you cash flow to increase your income.
  • When you do all this and it goes as planned you can easily bounce back to your former self, and not to forget to plan your money before it comes as that helps you to live on the minimum budget but to other it seems you have enough but all you're doing is living on a budget.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is my plan. on: October 05, 2023, 06:16:26 PM
while I am accumulating Bitcoin, I have come up with a plan of using the DCA method to accumulate a $50 monthly, my monthly payment from my job is $300, if my expenses will collect up $100 then $50 can be kept in crypto (Bitcoin) and another $100 for emergency funds then the remaining $50 can also be kept for personal things.

The plan you just explained is not a bad plan, $50 from your $300 salary to invest in Bitcoin is about 16.67% of your salary and I don't see that as too much to invest monthly in Bitcoin. But while you plan to invest that amount, make sure you're comfortable investing that amount without it affecting you expenses. It isn't about how much you invest in Bitcoin but make sure you're comfortable investing that amount and it's your spare money that won't unstable your expenses if the market doesn't give you profits instantly. Now is the perfect time to start investing if you haven't started already because we're still in a bear market and the price of Bitcoin is still very affordable.

I will use electrum Bitcoin wallet to save my coins because I have learned so far that the electrum wallet is a safe wallet for any investors that what to hold Bitcoin for long, so I will be using it to hold my coins when I buy some Bitcoin, I will update when I buy my first BTC.

For long term investment, hardware wallets are the most recommended but your choice of using electrum wallet isn't bad provided you're still a beginner and not investing too much into the market and can also take precautions measures to ensure that the device you'll be using don't get compromised. Electrum tick all the box for an ideal bitcoin wallet for holding except it isn't a hardware wallet and that's what you'll need for storing your Bitcoin offline and putting the security of your coins in your hands. You don't need to update us when you buy your Bitcoin, prioritize your privacy because we don't know who's online watching you.
674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of investment on: October 05, 2023, 05:36:56 PM
Hello friends
In our modern society, the fear of being scammed by king pins and other fake platforms has made many people to loose interest in investing bitcoin.

This shouldn't be an excuse anymore as anybody still thinking this way is been ignorant, Bitcoin isn't a platform but a currency and there's no way it'll scam you when you make your investment rightly by buying from exchanges that aren't fraudulent. You only get scammed when you try to buy or sell Bitcoin using scam exchanges or trust random scammers online claiming to be Bitcoin merchants.

Quote
This platform is to enlighten the society that there are real investment platforms and also people earn bitcoins for a living, so they should give it a try and invest so they can also earn

This statement is kind of confusing but Bitcointalk purpose is to connect Bitcoin enthusiasts, the platform isn't an investment platform or place to earn Bitcoin for a living, anything that you earn while you're on the forum should be seen as a privilege and not as a main source of income. People welcomed here aren't people that their sole purpose of been on the forum is to earn but to learn.

Quote
also when it comes to this particular fear I think the environment where one is actually staying also contributes to this

The only time I can think about our environment contributing to the fear of we not investing in Bitcoin is when they're banned in our country but to date no country has officially banned Bitcoin and when you talk about other types of fear, the internet is opened to everyone to do their search and we shouldn't be influence by what others are saying concerning bitcoin but DYOR to find out the truth or you'll be deceived and miss out on an opportunity to invest in Bitcoin early (again).

The only pain I had after my encounter with him was that he told me all these in high confidence and pleaded that I don't tell the father about his business. He stated that his parents are unrepentant dictators which pushed him into doing what was his passion secretly. He stressed that they wouldn't waste time in closing down his business if aware of it.

The number one problem with our parents na say dem dey use old days eye look us, dey want what's best for us genuinely but dem dey do am in a wrong way. Time dun pass wey parents supposed dey force their children to do what they want for them because dey believe that it'll give them a good future, now dem suppose dey allow us walk our own path but they should be there to guide us not force us to fulfill their own dreams. Wetin you narrate here na wetin many people dey surfer so. E dey like me I like entertainment from the beginning but I no get the opportunity to do am because course wey I go study na wetin my papa dey work and na wetin my papa dey do him say him son go do or anything wey relate to am. I regretted studying within I graduated with and na same story for many Nigerians.

  • would this boy ever find happiness again if telling his father validated his fears and his business closed?
  • what its the best solution to this issue that will reconcile the boy's passion and his fathers decision?

Yes, let the father know, but allow the guy to follow him dream, no follow among those wey dey kill young boys dreams by discouraging him. He'll change the world when he's doing something he has interest in and love then when he's doing it for only money which is why his father is trying to force him to go into tech because we know say money dey that side.

No, allow the boy to choose his own path, everybody no go make am for teach, he might just become a better business man and make billions from there, money can be made from different interest and not just the interest that's trending now or seem to be outdated.

Speak with the father, enlightened him, show am example of people wey dun follow their dreams and make am. Show am people wey dey the business area wey the guy wan go. Make the father see reasons say no be every tech guy dey make money and no be every business man dey sell for mile something market (make am see say you fit do business and become successful).
676  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Ghana preparing to supply Nigeria electricity. on: October 05, 2023, 04:16:01 PM
This has made me to have  a thought over this and I was wondering what is really the cause of our electricity gridlock and  epileptic power supply here in Nigeria. Finance I think is not the cause of our power shortage here in Nigeria as our government allocates huge fund to the power sector, Policies are made to help sustain power supply and also payment of electricity tariff which is not favorable to consumers as they complain lack of power supply and hence some do not bother complying with payment and if they do pay, they make part payment.

As my brother talk for up so, na corruption be the cause of everything and for we to get things straight na for the government to just privatized everything for the power sector for the country. The partial privatization wey dem do no dey work, make dem private the full sector and watch how things go better. I hope you know say e get some part of the country wey no dey lack light, we get places wey dey use federal light and their light dey dey like 24/7. Wetin this one mean be say the power dey but na distribution be the problem and that's because the power sector go dey lose if dem distribute the power to everybody. Na only those wey dem dey guarantee say dem go play na people wey dem dey give power and this people dey normally dey for areas wey dey use federal light like dem GRA, and prepaid meter areas dem.

Quote
Would Nigeria be able to Implement such policies as Ghana did to sustain and encourage her citizens to pay their electricity tariff. What do you really think is the major cause of power failure here in Nigeria despite the huge funds going into the power sector coupled with the fact that Nigeria is rich in mineral deposit which could have helped well enough to cushion the lapses in our  power sector.

One thing you have to consider is the population of Ghana and Nigeria, we no be their mate when e come to people to take care of and Nigeria no get good people management. I know say other countries dey wey get population and dem dey manager them well but that's where the corruption comes in because everything dey corrupt. When you put strategies in place to tackle all this things people dey well go spoil am and just like community users that'll refuse to pay because of entitlement and will demand to be given the lights for free and other illegal tapping of the light. Our corruption no go gree us pay when others dey use am freely as we fit tap the light illegally that's why I say government need to commot hand completely for the thing to work for here. Nigeria no be Ghana, our people mentality this side different. We can achieve success like Ghana when it comes to generation and distribution of electricity but the government need to leave the sector to private companies although they'll be monitoring it and maybe subsidy need come in too by the government.

E don dy almost go plenty plenty days and weeks now wey them kidnap some NYSC members for Calabar and our government no dey put force to bring them out, and with this act I no sure say people go fit summon courage to go serve.

If you no go serve na yourself wey you dey do and not the government because NYSC is a mandatory requirements for every graduate unless you graduate very late wey be say you dun pass the age to serve na when dem go give you exception. e dey pain me say people wey comot house to go serve their mother land enta this kind wahala but na the country wey we dey and the insecurity wey dey the country na wetin dey cause all this ones. The government and the citizens care greatly about anybody wey dey serve our mother land through NYSC because if you see the kind privileges this people dey get ehh. I dun see many occasions wey be say police dey free motor just because person where NYSC uniform and other instances like market women dashing dem things and other scenarios dem. If same thing for happen to orders na so e for be too (no quick response from the government) because police officials and other government officials has been kidnapped before and nothing was done quick for their release.

E dy pain me say we still dey go for all these things when government call on them, abi the NYSC no get right to say no all these government related things? I still dy ask, e really dy comporsary to go serve still come out to continue dy suffer as if them do wrong for the nation?

Yes very compulsory because without am you no fit secure better private paying job and no government job entirely. My advice go be make we dey try work our service because na wetin most people dey do. No go dey do good citizen go serve for where you go get problem because if you lose your life, the world no go stop for you. Highest na 1 min silent and fundraiser and e dun finish. We need to dey protect ourselves because na wetin dis country dun turn into. If you get the finances, work where you go serve or redeploy when them post you go where you life no dey secure. No go say because dem kidnapped NYSC people you no go serve or all your school years will be wasted and no go talk say you no need the certificate of completing your NYSC because e go worry you for future. We no know how tomorrow go be and we need dey prepared in every aspect like having all qualifications you have achieved like graduating from the University to avoid disqualifications.
678  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: We Nigerians never ready yet for a beta new Naija. on: October 05, 2023, 09:38:23 AM
I know my country people, the typical Nigerian wen him put him mind in to do somtin he dey do am to the fullest to make sure him get wetin him dey hunger for. make we use cryptocurrency lik bitcoin for example. see as Nigerians enter the crypto market one hand inno even tey sef naw na we dey front for Africa and even for the world if them dey tok about 10 countries wey citizens dey actively involved for crypto Naija go follo for that too 10, na bcos we put our mind wit hunger to do well.

Na because our country no good like our country no follow, others wey you dey see say dem no too follow for this list na because their governments dun make the economy of their country better wey be say if their youths hustle small dem go fit dey live a better life. Immediately we humans get comfortable we begin to lose our hustling spirit and na so all those white dem dey na him make e dey be like dem no get interest in cryptocurrency because their system dey work and that's why we dey always japa go their side. You think say if the country dey work very well wey be say as you finish school, you go get better work wey dey pay you well say you for they reason this industry? We dey here because the country no follow and work no dey and our population too much and na him dey push us upward for the crypto world.

Na with same energy too if we all don really ready for a new beta Nigeria inno go take 2secs we go get the results coming. Na the powa of Naija be that but plenty of us neva start to mk use of that powa wen it com for gofment and politics na why we country Neva be as we want.
you sef reason am!

For this side I no go talk say we never ready because we dun really ready but the kind politics wey we dey practice here no get fairness. Oya see last election wey we come out vote yet dem still steal our mandate carry give person wey we no vote for. This na how Nigeria politics dun dey and e go hard to change that way because protest self no dey too work for the country as where men gather plan, others go go behind go take handout and forget everything wey we plan to do. The youth dey hungry and the government know this one so if dem fit capture the main people wey dey organized the protest dem dun end the whole thing. See as dem shot people for lekki toll gate yet nothing the happen up to today and Nigeria strong wey be say other countries dey like comot hand for our matters.
679  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CRYPTO WHITELISTING on: October 04, 2023, 11:04:36 AM
Among the reason why whitelisting is important in cryptocurrency is the fact that it helps developers to place restriction on those allowed for events like presale, withdrawal and others in order to avoid spammers and unauthorized access to such events.

I don't like whitelisting because it goes against the idea of decentralization, whitelisting gives opportunity for restriction which is also control and that's something that's associated with centralization and this why people are advising against patronizing altcoins because how can a project that claims to be decentralized and will operate in a decentralized nature start off with restricting people from accessing their crowdfunding. They're meant to allow everyone to participate since they're decentralized but for project that aren't hiding their centralization then they don't have an issue with me but i don't see any benefits with whitelisting because if I wanted to invest in any altcoin, I can always get them when they get listed on an exchange and trade then for  profits. Investing in Presale isn't the best advice either because most of the projects mightn't get listed on exchanges or give profits as you're anticipating.

Recently I begin to wonder why anyone will like shitcoins when we know well that every other coins/ token is linked to Bitcoin price movement since every other coins is transacted as a pair to bitcoins.

The thing be say many people no know wetin shitcoin be, dey see all as legit cryptocurency. Na we wey dey the system know wetin dey sup. E get people wey be say if you check their wallet, na just shitcoin full am and dem dey lose some and make some but for their mind they're cryptocurency investors (which isn't a lie) but they're doing more of gambling then investing. Many people dem never know the difference between legitimately project and pure pump and dumps shitcoins. Another reason why dem dey like shitcoin na because e dey give quick profits and you know say we Nigerian like quick money (which is why shitcoin investing is becoming very popular for this our side).
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What encouraged your continuity in Bitcoin investment and Bitcointalk forum? on: October 04, 2023, 10:36:52 AM
Also I have come accross some profile been inactive for some time while some totally stopped contributing to the forum. Dont know thier reasons or challenges but i know there is a reason for all that. I dont want a day to come where i would stop contributing positively to the forum.

Just understand that this forum is like other social media platforms and people at some point will get tired of participating in discussion on the forum especially when there are no new things to discuss like during the bear market the activities of the market are mostly silent so some people might just take a break from the forum and others have different reasons why they stopped been active here. Some users mightn't have much free time anymore due to their engagement in the real world. Could be a new job or new life experience like getting married and having to look after the children and other reason best known to them so we shouldn't be bother about those who have left but concerned about those who are still here.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?

Honestly what drive my interest in Bitcoin is the high rate of poverty in my country, while I was still a student I was looking for an alternative measure to make money then stumbled upon Bitcoin from a failed investment that was built around ponzi scheme but looking at Bitcoin, you can immediately see that it was different and unique. Fear of poverty motivated me to invest in Bitcoin because I was looking for financial stability but what has made me stay is the uniqueness of Bitcoin that can't be gotten from other assets. Its potential of been a global currency is also one of the reasons why I'm still here because I want to be part of history while been an early adopter.
