661  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Clipboard malware affects phone users? on: February 05, 2023, 11:28:34 PM
I think it is common with fancy third party keyboards. But with built in android keyboards that was installed alongside the OS hardly get Malware attack except the device is regularly using hotspots from unknown and untrusted users.
I tend to agree with this, there might be a chance that the app you downloaded has a malware clipboard that can affect your phone.
There are too many apps on playstore for fancy backgrounds like having a color and design and I think that's possible can be infected with the clipboard malware.  Because upon installing that app it asks the full access to your phone.

It's no IMO.
At that age, it seems the best for them is to enjoy their childhood with their peers (like camping out in the backyard), they have a lot of time with their friends.  So it's possible they didn't seriously make a good discussion here in the forum.  It's too early for them to engage in financial matters, especially Bitcoin.  At that age, they seem most likely moody, self-conscious, or very sensitive to everything that they saw on the internet, I think it's better to keep them away from the internet, it's not yet at the right age to participate here in our community.

For now, there are too many things that your child might learn first.
Not now, it's too early for your child to adopt the concept of crypto at that age.
663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefit as a forum member. on: February 02, 2023, 11:51:23 PM
That's good for you and congrats on what you've achieved.
Just give some more precious time spent here reading and reading those important threads that usually it's pinned on the top.  It gives valuable information it's either on crypto or general information here in the forum.

When it comes to trading, it needs more technical stuff and I suggest don't rely on this forum, sometimes you need to explore outside or another source as needed.  Books or e-books for technical and fundamental analysis might work well.

More reading than posting will give you more benefits.
Good luck and see you around.
664  Other / Meta / Re: [Results 2022] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: February 02, 2023, 11:29:41 PM
Congrats to all winners and thank you to those active users (it's already mentioned who are they) who organized this contest.
I'm now thinking about what will be the next contest this year.

If you consider the forum as a whole to be one big community, it's an honor just to get some votes in any of the categories, you know?
Well said and I just want to thank them.
It's been my honor they voted for me for that category.
665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto child savings account on: February 01, 2023, 11:29:23 PM
So are you saying bitcoin or other crypo funds are never safe, unless they're on a flash drive or something?
I started investing in crypto about a month ago, buying BTC at the Binance Exchange. I understand it's the world's largest crypto exchange – is it really unsafe to keep funds in a Binance wallet or any other wallet at a large crypto exchange?
I've recently transferred all my cryptocurrency to Pionex, hoping to earn a little with their trading bots. Is it also consided unsafe to keep my crypto in the wallet at Pionex?
That's a hardware wallet and yes, it's safe there as long as you have a private key.
Those hardware wallets have their own built-in security features that don't have in a centralized exchange.  For the long term, hardware wallets are the best wallet for storing crypto.

Keep in my mind there's no real coin on the exchange, that's just a number that is shown in your dashboard or wallet.
Those real coins can be seen on the chain by its network.

Yes, that's unsafe there.
Just trade only an amount that you can afford, not all your assets, and don't let all your crypto sleep on the crypto exchange's wallet.
666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto child savings account on: January 31, 2023, 11:38:28 PM
Is it possible to create accounts/wallets in their name, that I can control while they are minors, and that they automatically will become owner of when they turn 18? Or will I need to create a crypto account for myself and just manually gift it to them when they become of age? What might be the smart solution?
It seems like you're planning to sign up in a centralized wallet because you've said it under the name of your child.
No, that's a big mistake, don't trust any centralized wallets and store your Bitcoin for a long term that is intended for your child saving.  That's not how will work.  Centralized exchanges will have a right to your Bitcoin anytime and not under your control or your child's.

Choose these [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+) which are very safe to store your Bitcoin that you've control on it.  You can keep it and give it to your child when at the right age.
I always said here this valuable rule for storing your Bitcoin, "Not your keys Not your coins".
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best platform for virtual Communities on: January 31, 2023, 11:25:48 PM
As many said it's Telegram because it has a very simple feature to use but when it comes to trust it seems this Telegram is over-run with scammers, phishing attacks, and even fake bots, in short, they are a house of all of these bad actors.

I'm in favor of Discord here, it's designed neatly which is all features that you want was there and can have a healthier community.
However, how about you can choose both of them?
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Life Insurance on: January 30, 2023, 11:48:06 PM
I am not aware of any such policy or service that is trusted to mitigate the transfer of ownership of crypto assets to heirs in the event of one's death. Is anyone familiar with a company that does this? If so, what measures do they take to ensure that the crypto is indeed successfully transferred?  Is it a Trust, or some sort of financial advisory board? If someone signed up, how could they ensure that the companies products/services are to be trusted?
I heard about it before but it wasn't working because of the Trust issue.
People who understand the decentralized nature of Bitcoin always doubted trust in any centralized companies that offer a service like this, because it's prone to scams or any fraud activity ahead, you'll never know when they will become a scam.

You can't mix up decentralized and centralized ones, the importance of storing Bitcoin is a seed phrase that you can keep and transfer to heirs when the time comes you'll pass away.  There's no need for a centralized company to ensure the security of your Bitcoin.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top AI Crypto coins that can possibly change your life on: January 30, 2023, 11:23:39 PM
Crypto technology becomes serious now and here we are in the AI thing trend, I hope it competes with the existing AI technology companies.
As I see it, it has great potential to change the crypto universe works like the metaverse which become a trend last year, and now this AI stuff.

Though there are potential, we should be careful about this hype, proper research should be conducted because it's the same as the previous project that also has hype like NTF and Defi which we know there are some projects aren't have good result, but they raised because of the hype.
670  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice needed on how to reunite a trust wallet. on: January 30, 2023, 10:49:23 PM
The question is this, am I supposed to have this as a response after clicking on the 'I already have an account' option?
How do we recover or reunite the old wallet address with this new trust wallet app on a new phone, with hopes the wallet is not lost?
Yes, that's it, it's "I already have a wallet".
This is the right procedure for how to restore your wallet on the other device.
How to Restore a Multi-Coin Wallet

Upon creating a wallet, supposedly you saved the private key, the 12-word Recovery Phrase which is very important, if you don't have this, you will not import your wallet from other devices but at least you are still able to access it.
671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: don't be greedy to sell now on: January 29, 2023, 11:47:35 PM
Though I tend to agree with your statement, however, each of us has preferences on how to take profit in Bitcoin, some prefer short-term holding while others can able to wait for long-term holding.  IMO, as long as your profit was there and you take it out, isn't a greedy one as long as you needed it, not unless you won't.

Bitcoin wasn't promised this to us to make a profit, it's supposed to use as a transaction, an electronic payment system that can be more useful to anyone soon, not holding the value.
672  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has an exchange ever blocked your Bitcoins from Signature earnings? on: January 29, 2023, 10:55:34 PM
I am just trying to know from forum members if there is anyone who has ever had their bitcoin payments from signature advertising get blocked by an exchange, citing "suspicious transaction"?
Not a trading exchange but a custodial wallet in which you can trade your crypto to fiat directly to your bank account.
Yes, I've encountered it recently this year.  It's called Coins.ph, a local crypto wallet that supports selective altcoins in my country(Philippines), one day I was surprised my account was frozen including my signature earnings due to enhance verification and asking for a source of funds.  That time I used their Bitcoin address to receive Bitcoin from signature earning, good thing the forum has a google spreadsheet where you can check and has transparency, you can simply share with them the information on a google spreadsheet claiming where the fund coming from, and a salary as a freelancing job.

Fortunately, I got my account back but I did not trust them anymore, even though it's not my purpose to store them in a long term, only when I convert to fiat, I've chosen Electrum as a hot wallet, not them.

It's normal for CEXs now to ask for a source of funds because that's the purpose of KYC, to combat fraud and money laundering, every unknown source of funds becomes suspicious to them.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who else have my kind of mindset for Bitcoin 2023 on: January 28, 2023, 11:59:44 PM
My focus was towards the year 2024 as halving falls. The gradual rise in the market will have downturn at some point, so that it can once again make a bounce when the market is close to the days of halving. The bullish move at the moment is really good and enjoyable, because none predicted to have a good start in the year.
I have witnessed twice in Bitcoin halving and it usually takes a month(s) before the price will take effect which is the bull market.
People who invested are waiting for this moment to have the next bull run or hit another all-time high which is opposite to the investors who want to enter the market.  They also hope that there's a market correction.

Doing the DCA way of purchasing Bitcoin is a wise idea and holds when there's a bull market trend.
674  Other / Meta / Re: New bitcointalk rank? 🔥 on: January 28, 2023, 11:49:22 PM
3k Merits & 3k Activity (greater or equal on both accounts): 22 Accounts
4k Merits & 4k Activity (greater or equal on both accounts): 1 Account (Theymos)
3k merits and 3k activity is a good idea for a new rank if there is one, these members in the pipeline deserve a new rank IMO.

Yes, it's not necessary as of now but I think it's needed in the future (not unless epochtalk will replace it) because from time to time, there's a potential member who deserves a new rank, and will be reached that 3k merits and 3k activity.

The question is, what new rank will be called?
Mythic or Mythical?   Cheesy
675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not invest in crypto from loans. on: January 28, 2023, 11:28:06 PM
so in my opinion, don't invest from borrowed money because there will be potential losses, what do you think, do you agree with me?
Of course, I tend to agree with this, it seems like you've hit a double-edged sword.
First, paying the interest on your debt and two paying your losses by investing in altcoins.  That's terrible if that will happen, I don't know how you'll recover the amount that you've borrowed and invest in altcoins.  It seems you gambled in that way.

Invest only what you can afford as always we advise it here.
Don't gamble in altcoins if you don't have proper research on them because it's a risk, don't believe in high risk which means high profit, no it's likely to lose your assets in that way.

Stick to Bitcoin if I were you.
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found long forgotten sats in my wallet but. on: January 28, 2023, 11:18:51 PM
Yes, you shouldn't have a problem, I've been a user of Coinomi for a long time ago, and AFAIK, even with which wallet address you will open default, legacy, or compatible it should appear on your balance there, any kind of address you have.

Even though you will send Bitcoin on Legacy and send Bitcoin in Compitable address, you will see your full balance.
The reason I leave that wallet a long time ago the time I knew that it was a close-source wallet which is not good IMO.  Still, open-source wallets which make me confident in storing my Bitcoin even if that's a hot wallet.
677  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Defaulted [SiNeReiNZzz] on: January 28, 2023, 11:06:56 PM
Supporting the flag as well, let me know if this (scammer) borrower will wake up and pay you.

I'm also a borrower and I understand that sometimes we're in a situation where we can't able to pay our debt as promised date but it's not good if you'll disappear nowhere.  I know OP is very understanding when it comes to a situation like this and gives an extention if ever.  But being inactive shows no interest to pay.

Hopefully, that borrower will pay.
678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting ready for $25K, How? on: January 27, 2023, 12:00:00 AM
I think beyond that will resist the Bitcoin price and that's not impossible.
The resistance of $25k isn't impossible and I think even $30k with is this year.
There's various good news that happened around and I think that is the reason why it keeps resisting the price.

It's normal for people to predict a higher amount when seeing the market is green and when it's red, it's expecting someone to ask the button line.  It's a human instinct.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tell me about the coin portfolio. on: January 26, 2023, 11:35:07 PM
Of course now my portfolio value is down at least 95% or so because small cap coins always lose way harder during a bear market then the big ones.
If you are willing to take the risk then you are free to do so although in the end you should realize that the big profits you get from altcoin are down to luck. I mean every altcoin you own has no real use case, you just hope for volatility, and if you make a profit sell it and convert it immediately to bitcoin.
This needs proper DYOR if you want to pick a new project on your own, it's a high risk that could anytime you will lose.  I sometimes do this and follow the trend and the hype is over and your profit was there, there's no need to become greedy and wait for more profit to come, divert it into a new one that has a trend.  It's very risky but if you're lucky enough it's profitable.

That's why if you want in a safe position in investing crypto, just give a large allocation in investing Bitcoin in your portfolio because every coin will follow the Bitcoin trend, if there's a bull market, every coin will follow.
680  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How bitcoin supply can be more than 21 million on: January 26, 2023, 11:23:34 PM
..we can trade more than 19miilions coins on exchanges with leverage like: an institution have 500k bitcoins and they are trading on 50x leverage (it's obvious no one will take this much risk just for example and understanding) and more like people or institution like this than we can rich more than 19miillion coins
or more than exchange's reserve ,
and buyer and seller are also agree to trade
(totally hypothetical or don't know we already trading like this or not)

is it can happen can we trade just numbers
As you've said, if that is a huge amount put on exchange as a future trade no one will risk that big amount and trust the exchange, because people now learned how to store their own Bitcoin and of course have full control of the private key.  As pointed out above, on a centralized exchange it's only just a number because that's not recorded on the blockchain.
So in exchange, there's no real number of Bitcoin.

The total Bitcoin supply should not exceed 21 million, nothing will break the code of the Bitcoin protocol and add an additional number of Bitcoin total supply.
