AFCON is active, actually thought the thread was recent -- feels like yesterday when I picked a nice early outright on Senegal so that tourney ended on a happy note. Sadio's probably not as good a player now than Salah so my money's now on Egypt but I think Morocco and Algeria have a constant supply of talent to ensure they're always in the running.

Girona game in a bit, let's hope it's not a draw yeah Chi20?

Happy birthday Harko man, keep some cag presents aside for more pools and bets eh?
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 03, 2024, 05:29:23 PM
Ah, then I go for Palmer easily. I was short 0.9 M to get Haaland (not to actually get him just to aim for that) but I'm slowly selling off players and I think making good enough money to have a team I like + Salah once he returns, and have money to play around with.

nelson4lov didn't know you were a fan. At least you're not deliberately and stubbornly stuck with Nunez (hahaha). I should win award for worst captain/vice combo (Nunez; Diaz).
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: January 03, 2024, 04:28:20 PM
Great announcement, happy to help with Tether custody haha. Sending payment shortly.

Last AFCON was really, really dull. Few goals and just cautious play. Algeria was shit. Egypt was lobbing balls everywhere, Senegal were the best but also just not reckless enough. Watchability is less about talent, more about risk-taking.

@Igebotz luck? Personally, AFC is more fun for Southeast Asians like myself. We're physically disadvantaged so we have to be fitter, more running, more recklessness (check out Japan's last WC, they were not lucky, they were harder working and more adventurous, way more watchable). I regularly used to watch qualifiers and even bet, it's really fun, sure less talent but great spirit.

But if we only choose 1, AFCON please! We want games people watch and I don't think we've got that many Asian timezone peeps (sorry guys, majority haha).
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +93999 units on: January 03, 2024, 03:12:39 PM
Now I missed putting 2 consecutive winning bets here totaling over 16/1 against Arsenal, so I need to remember to be disciplined heh.

But I'm not forgetting the cup tie in France, Toulouse are a curious outfit if you want, beating Loverpool and LASK, even drawing with a really good USG team despite playing with 10 men... it suggests they prefer doing their best in cup ties?

May 2024 prove to be good for this thread!

jayce and Navidart, guys, you gave walkovers so early on! 4 or more, what was I thinking, that Brighton always scores, but so do Hammers? Right?

Barca and Girona to decide my round with Chi20, and yes, I'm fully expecting Atletico to stop the La Liga leaders in their tracks, while Barca find their way back up.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 02, 2024, 06:30:07 PM
Eh, my bench choices ruined me, lost 11 points just for thinking Raya would have an easier time than Ederson, etc etc. 1 point off the average and I'm taking another transfer penalty to offload AFC peeps, but I'm really here for the ride at this stage.

Am I dumb for inserting Palmer just because he seems cheap? (yes).
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 02, 2024, 03:46:57 PM
I think a huge part of that is the match being at Old Trafford.  There's just something with United playing in the so called 'Theatre of Dreams' that makes some matches something special for the guys at home.

un_rank got to the comment first but he's right. Gala won in England for the first time, Forest first time since... 76? Moyes also popped his cherry vs Big Six away. Theatre of Dreams has been largely that for visitors. United've won three and lost seven in all competitions this season at OT. They actually perform better away. Fans are unforgiving and booing you, you bet that's affecting their psyche.

Villa gave the game away.

Gomez has been brilliant since he’s had to step in. I thought Jones was good too, things are looking good aren’t they. It could be a really exciting second half of the season for us. I thought it would be another year before we competed for the title. Let’s go for it though, all we can do is hope.

Yeah, so pleased for Jones, local lads always get to my soft spot but man, they're looking really good. Like you, I'd consigned this season to a non-UCL rebuild, even before our first game kicked off. Losing Hendo, Millie, Bobby, it felt really painful. Where we are now is a real bonus. Think even neutrals wished we were in UCL instead of United. This team is fearsome when not at their best. Unplayable when they are.

I just wish Darwin Nunez would learn from that and produce a stellar performance in Salah's absence, but all will be well so far Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota + Cody Gakpo are all fit.

I know I'm unpopular but Darwin makes moves off the ball that Isak can't. He also riles opponents up reminiscent of Suarez. We had nice guys up front with Sadio/Bobby/Salah, even Jota, Gakpo, Diaz are only a shade off but I like streetfighting snarl in the mix and I hold fast to Nunez thriving as a foil our modern 9s seem to be.
668  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: January 02, 2024, 02:27:51 PM
I seem to be arriving late to parties. Thank you for the drops, Steve. See my wins in a month, AFCON and AFC outrights, yes!

Should we celebrate Liverpool's win against Newcastle in this thread? Because Sportsbet is their official partner  Grin haha, kidding. It was really a good bet because odd was around 1.4, quite a good 40% easy income. Gomez was phenomenal in this match. Curtis Jones has been amazing for many months in a row. I don't have enough words to describe how amazing Mohammed Sallah is since he came in Liverpool. The Expected Goals (xG) of Liverpool was 7.21 xG in this match. As far as I know, this is one of the highest for them.

We can celebrate that Newcastle only allowed 4 while scoring two... and as I insisted earlier, they play to win, which is why Liverpool recorded the highest xG of Premier League era (yup) and a joint record shots attempted this season (also matching a 2016 Merseyside derby pre-Klopp incidentally, also where we didn't have a Scouse).
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 01, 2024, 10:02:03 PM
Yes, yes, 1 mbtc to you. I hope ETH stays forever and relegates with United.

I loved the game tonight. Sure, we allowed 2 goals but the energy levels, wow. So good to see Jota back properly, Gomez surprising me again and again with how capable he is filling in for Tsimi/Robbo. Sure, City's chasing us down but we get to meet them at Anfield, bring it on!
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC unconfirmed transactions exceed 500k on mempool on: January 01, 2024, 06:51:33 PM
Indeed, it's really frustrating. I've unconfirmed transactions that have lingered for over 4 weeks now. It's the longest delay I've experienced since I came to this industry. What's happening now is a pointer for those who like projecting that Bitcoin should be used solely as payment option. I'm sure they've realized what's going on now?

I've seen longer, years ago. Nature of the network, and with RBF I've never needed to worry if I suddenly need it urgently confirmed. Keep your coins lean, and really it's not such a (long-term) worry.

I'm still happy to be paid in Bitcoin. So many more benefits -- certainty of settlement my top but value retention over years is a great motivator too.

All hype will pass.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin have behaved like a fine wine 🍷 on: January 01, 2024, 05:29:23 PM
Almost like fine wine, most people who want it or can afford it, know not enough about it to distinguish between fine and not-so-fine wine Wink Hence why so many think alts are superior.

I'm happy to drink good wine, I think gourmet flavours are not for my palette. Also happy to have sommeliers tell me Bitcoin's aging great Wink
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 31, 2023, 09:05:28 PM
@Igebotz prepare to DM me an address for 1 mbtc (or $45 in USDT if you like). ETH can lose a lot and not get fired, I thought to challenge that assumption but then they made that amazing Villa comeback and bought a lot of goodwill

^  At first glance, Man United playing Nottingham Forest away looks like a value bet for the guys at home but looking at how United won from behind vs Aston Villa, I think you're right.  Ten Hag could go on and continue the momentum here.  And this guy Garnacho...  He is running hot lately.

Lol at myself for falling for ETH's trap. The result didn't change the fact it was value though. On a boost, it was 24/10! Conversely, 27/10 for Nottingham Forest was poor value.

But as I've said countless times I'm happy to lose bets on United and City if it means them not winning things.

Nicely done from Arsenal, we can go 5 points ahead of them if we win against Newcastle tomorrow.
Toon has been in terrible form and I honestly feel it's going to be one of the easiest games of the season for us.

I won't even mention Superbru results, I see we're all in the same shit. I have 19 points in the last 3 rounds, it's a miracle I've kept my top5 position.

I also wait for Liverpool to win tomorrow. However the 2 points lost in the Manchester United match makes me worried for this match. Because I see the match tomorrow having the same difficulty with the Manchester United match. It is Salah's last match before going to AFCON. I hope that Liverpool can manage to maintain their good form in this season in the matches they are going to play without Salah as well.

Nah. United came for the draw. It's not in this current Toon's mindset to do that. Not with a full squad, not with one ravaged by injuries. We should find it easier to play but while this decreases the draw likelihood, I agree, also at higher risk for a loss.

674  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: December 31, 2023, 07:46:11 PM
Small victories must be treasured as much as big ones. Particularly when one hasn't had that great a year in betting, it's really special to end the year on good notes.

Arsenal may have been a great partner for Sportsbet but Newcastle is arguably more potential, and nicking two consecutive wins against them (West Ham my previous post), plus the Christmas freebet, well, can one really argue?

675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: December 30, 2023, 05:02:24 PM
Eh, kept Ake on bench and he goes and gets 6 points heh. On the plus side my new boy D Luiz scored a late winner to get some good points on the table for me, even if I did have Ollie on me team already (but indeed, as Hhampuz asks, why?).

6 players left to play, I'm feeling good here.

I have the perfect team, but I am unable to manage these players.

That sounds suspiciously like Chelsea's mantra...

that makes Merseyside derby a draw, if I calculated it right, GG buwaytrees
after three straight loses, draw seems as good for change

I was keeping my eye on Hurkacz too, after losing that first set, it was danger zone but he made short work of the next two after. Swiatek didn't break sweat too, pgew.

I'm happy to take the draw too, to be honest. I last checked and it was only Brazil winning that would get me the loss, so I think we're definitely sharing points here. It's still far too precarious a position on the table but I think if I aim to draw every round from here on, I should finish just above relegation playoff.

Sheffield are going to lose, but if they play 30 times, could they win at least once? I think so!

No time to place bet ID here but I'll edit this post with full numbers but 100 units on Blades to win @30/1++ odds it is on!

Edit: Heh, a loss. But for one moment when it was 0-0, Blades with more shots on target...

Sheffield Utd to WIN @32.08. Other odds: 28.

Trofo's said it. Everyone will be dropping points all season long. Liverpool and City do have a tendency to finish strong, past 5 seasons they actually get more points in last 19 matches. City no surprise, deep squad. Liverpool fix kinks from when they start and always seem to get more from the youth they blood.

Nunez, TAA and Endo all get their yellow card slate wiped too (5 yellows by week 19 is a suspension) so that's a big boot too as they were all on 4 already.

United is the best value bet tonight. But will they break Red Devil hearts? I got Blades at very good odds, but surely they can't win at Etihad?
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: December 29, 2023, 10:12:57 PM
Ha. Napoli. Monza are ridiculously seesaw easy/tough though and Osimhenless (suspension) Naples couldn't deal. They should probably kiss their title defence goodbye.

I had to add them into an acca too *shakes head* so I probably deserve it.

Then again, Inter...

I see that there was a German winner in ski jumping, which then means that I won this round,

Oh wait isnt that only the opening race? Im not really familiar with this sport but isnt there supposed to be multiple race because flashscore wrote that this is only the 1st race so Im assuming that there should be multiple but its not looking good for Austrian right now it seems

I see official results as Germany for Oberstdorf (which is the question's point) -- they move on to other locations now

The Super Cup match to be played today between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray has been cancelled due to the disagreement between the Saudi Arabia government and the teams. According to the first news seen on the Turkish media Saudis wanted the Saudi Arabia national anthem to be played before the match instead of Turkish national anthem. After that they forbade one to enter the pitch with the founder father of Turks Atatürk t-shirts and jerseys. As Atatürk is red line for us Turkish people Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray decided not to enter the pitch after this decision.

Ys, in case people forgot it's not just woke politics, it's also semi-secular-religious notions that can cause rows in our part of the world eh? Attaturk's somewhat revered in Malaysia, but strongly Saudi-aligned states in SEA see him with resentment. I kid you not, I've watched a documentary where Attaturk, Charles Darwin, and Stalin form a comedic axis of fire.

But back on point, me and casper don't care, hmm?
