I think number 5 spot was reserved for monkeynuts??

and #1 or #2 was supposed to be for bitenvy??

Gravitate can clarify.

Thanks
#2 is not me.   Smiley
Gravitate...I would appreciate moving me from the #4 spot for both to the #2 spot if it becomes open.  Or if minerjones gets first dibs, then he can move up, and I'll take his spot at #3.

Seems like Series 3 and Series 5 got swapped from the original spreadsheet?  Now Platinum instead of Gold?

Out of curiosity, whatever happened to the Chinese Lunar coins?  I recall the holo design being shown a while back along with some animals.

Hi Yes I thought platinum was more enticing. When Gold Digger out Of the way they Will come for sure. Do you prefer Gold?

I love .999 gold, but my budget doesnt allow for it these days.  I find .999 Silver a good compromise to be a nice metal, and less expensive.
683  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FEELER] 2OZ Platinum Custom Coin 100LTC Loaded on: April 16, 2016, 10:54:57 AM
Personally, I'd rather not prefer another 5 oz Silver like the Nastyfans 5 Seat (aka the Hockey Puck).  I find it rather large, and less coin, and more of a medallion.  Just my preference, not meant in any way a jab at their coins.  I collect most all of theirs.

A 2oz Platinum is likely more expensive than people wish to commit, with a somewhat new/less known seller.  For example, gravitate (microsoul) is very well known and is going with a 1/4oz Platinum I believe.

I would suggest around a 1oz Silver (or 1/4 oz up to 2oz) , which is a more safe bet and common size/material.

While I appreciate smaller runs of under 25 coins, just note that the smaller the run, the more cost each coin has to absorb for minting, dies, and holos.  10 coins is a very small run, which creates rarity, but certainly costs per unit go up.

You may wish to refer to bigtimespaghetti's guide and/or service.

Thank you Henry for being very open about the issues.

I'd like to add a few things..

First thing...Henry it was a pleasure meeting you in person at the Miami Inside Bitcoin conference a few months back.  We spoke for maybe 20 minutes about your coins and other things.

I'm a little disappointed in a few things, and hope you can address:

1.  The auction 1B Silver top capsule was very loose to the point it fell off on its own the moment I touched the packaging and the coin inside almost fell out, until I had to do a ninja maneuver to catch it.   These capsules arent tight, especially for shipping.   Its also rather disappointing to hear that earlier auction Silvers are lesser quality, especially when people paid a nice premium for those.

2.  When I received the 1/10 and 1/100 Brass some time ago, they had what I would describe as 3 or so discoloration stripes end to end across the front.  I looked at roughly 50+ Brass coins in person in your display case.  Some looked better than others to a large extent and showed a similar issue.

3.  In the 3 custom brass I received, all were pretty scratched up, though shiny, as if they were in someone's pocket for some time.

I implore you to consider other mints that do a much much better job in quality of the silvers and brass for future coins.  I'm sad to say the quality is not there now, and needs to be addressed.

I am very disappointed that the people who paid in full months ago were not give even a week to reserve a copy of the collectors signature edition. If you had offered a deluxe version from the beginning, I would have bought that instead.

agreed, a few hours to fight over 25 copies when we have waited months is bad form and has soured a great endeavor. more consideration should have been made for early investors who were not able to act at such short notice.

I had asked about a signed edition a long time ago on this thread before I volunteered for the project.  I later pushed for it again a couple months ago.  It took those few months to get confirmation if Mike C would sign these, since we felt it was very important.  It was literally the last minute figuring out the details on many things, if Mike would sign, how many he would sign, logistics, and if we were going to go ahead.  As such,  this edition wasn't guaranteed from the beginning.

I think we were all surprised by the level of interest, and didn't think it would sell out within 48 hrs.  Elias did email out a PM to those that pre-ordered to be able to upgrade, and offered it only to people who preordered the regular edition to be as fair as possible.   While in theory more books could be signed by the 3 authors and made wallets, Mike only agreed to a certain amount, so we're constrained by that amount, plus what we committed to as an edition size for the people who bought this.

Are these coins or holos physically any different than the Delux Silver Lucky coins?

I think stamping on the inside of the book is the right way to go.  I was concerned when you said it would be on the side, because I think it would wear off with use.

Great minds think alike.  Exactly my sentiments.
691  Economy / Collectibles / Re: PAPERBACK - Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins and Crypto-Currencies - [67/100] on: April 09, 2016, 12:10:29 AM
I'm thinking I can put the '/100' stamp on the center of the cover, right under the title. the ''/25' stamp could then go onto the top, right above the title. I don't think those 1 or two stamps would make the book look worse.
The other option would be to put both on the back, where they are 'out of sight'.

Still need to test on a book to make sure the ink sticks, of course

I'm thinking on the 1st right hand page (1st page of paper, not the back of the cover).  I would be concerned that a stamp or hand writing smears off the slick cover.  I would also sign the books on that same place on the page of paper too.

Thats also where I'm thinking of putting the holo for the signature edition.  A slick cover may make a holo too easy to remove.

Where did these come from?  A 1 ozt Microsoul 0.1?

The Encyclopedia is going to have to get bigger as Microsoul keeps adding coins so fast.    Grin

#4 or lowest number for both please

All Signature Edition books are sold out in less than 48 hours!
There are still ~34 Special Edition First Print books up for grabs.

I did save a couple (~2-4) Signature Edition's for myself. I might auction 1 or 2 off at a later date.

Congrats.  These seemed to go fast.  I'm curious what is the one primary reason for purchasing these?  Is it Mike Caldwell's sig, the 3 authors sigs, the physical wallet, the more limited total made, or the prestige of being the more premium edition?

I'll do my best to mail the sig edition out as fast as I can once I get it.  I'll get from Elianite everyone's address and edition number.  If anyone moves within the next month or so, be sure to PM me and Elianite if there's a change in address. I'll likely post on this thread a reminder of that once I get these in.
