So many mining pools and a focus on mining. But no roadmap or whitepaper or website or any other update as far as I can see! A novel algorithm is great, but need more than that to keep miners interested Smiley
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides on: May 08, 2018, 11:07:59 AM
Biblepay has been around for a while and has a fairly large community. You can definitely mine it with your rig while gpu mining other coins no problem.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STRAKS - Decentralised, Open Source, Community Driven Digital Currency on: May 08, 2018, 10:31:47 AM
HitBTC looks like a rebadge Binance. Every second exchange is copying the format and layout of Binance rather than creating something new but equally user friendly and engaging. HitBTC should add some features to differentiate itself from other exchanges, rather than going for the whole copy paste approach.
User-friendly interface, reliability, professionality are the most imporatant things to catch attention of traders, alongside with total daily trading volume.
Anyway, more exchanges are better for STAK because they can contribute to the liquidity of STRAKS.

I agree, my point is more that exchanges like hitbtc will get more attention and traffic if they have something new.

A new upcoming exchange called trade token or something similar has a few interesting financial tools for example.

Any news from hitbtc ?

This is getting ridiculous...

It would be better to immediately refused from Hitbtc and add it to cryptopia. It will be faster and easier.

Yea somehow cryptopia sounds a lot better now than crapBTC.

705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where are Steemit Bounties at?!?! on: May 07, 2018, 06:41:50 AM
Great love a good steemit bounty.

Although steemit has been frustrating me lately. They recently took the page view counter down so you can't even assess how popular your articles are with non-steemit users, or if your cross linking to other websites is driving traffic. For example, I have a couple articles with only a couple upvotes, but with about 1000 views each.

It is good to know these things so you can see what articles are getting traffic and what people are after even if they don't use steemit.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: May 07, 2018, 04:21:10 AM

The only huge problem that the team has still to solve is to make this node-stuff an easy and friendly process which everybody can easily setup and not just something for nerds. For example, I could not setup a node on my Windows based PC. I guess, I am not the only one.

I think the priority for nodes is to make sure the system is secure, which based on the number of nodes, it probably is. If windows is deemed less secure than linux, or too difficult for the system to deal with two operating systems, then we probably won't see user-friendly nodes on windows make an appearance.

I actually haven't been able to find any coins that do nodes through windows. It possibly doesn't exist and not sure zencash will look into it separately.
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: May 07, 2018, 02:07:01 AM
Anyone tried if OhGodAnETHlargementPill is doing something for the X16R algo?

See for more info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3370685.0

1.  It only works on 1080/1080ti to change the memory timings
2.  Memory timings aren't a big thing on RVN like ETH.

Guess 1060s is too hard to mine with this coin. Need a 1080s for some real work.

Gtx 1060's work fine for me. Fairly low power consumption too so definitely no problem pointing 1060's to mine ravencoin.

I have a few 1060's going now, and gets pretty good hashrates and returns on x16r.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Pigeoncoin (PGN) – a cryptocurrency network with a ne on: May 05, 2018, 06:14:29 AM
there's literally 1 (one) DEV working on this project...

or better to say one student ;-) One should have more skills than forking BTC/RVN GIT and build it to be called Dev ;-)

One student should have access to lots of other students with similar interests to plug gaps. Really need to get more developers, website and graphic designer, community manager etc to get the ball rolling. Those handful of people who mined the hell out of this in the first five days should be pitching in with whatever they can offer. I mean, it has been over a month and I'm not sure what their plan is, or even when they'll be ready to announce plans.

Some bitcoin forks and other projects have automatic airdrops provided on exchanges like binance. Wondering if anything like that will happen with this classic bitcoin fork?
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Jumpcoin - THE Community - POW/POS - 21 Mio - Nist5 Algo on: May 04, 2018, 05:20:26 AM
I think the Nist5 algo has fallen victim to asics unfortunately. Unsure if all Nist5 algo coins fall in this category but just check out Bulwark coin for an example - it started as GPU mining, now ASIC, and soon they'll move to PoS.

I'm interested in if this project will be an Asic coin given the algo, or if you prefer GPU mining.
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: May 03, 2018, 12:12:10 PM
Please bring ZenCash to Cryptobridge decentral exchange.

There is a 1 BTC standard listing fee and a 3 BTC fast-track option. Maybe we can collect funds to bring ZEN to CB together Smiley
Thank you for this recommendation, will investigate this.

1 BTC is still quite a bit, and zencash is available on plenty of exchanges.

In fact, zencash is also available on cryptopia, which actually charges around $200k nowadays for a listing! I think zencash got in before they started charging these insane amounts. I'd rather see it get listed on exchanges that tap into new markets to be honest.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: May 03, 2018, 06:06:35 AM
CryptoBobby added RVN to his portfolio, video abut it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soUudsfWZhQ

His portfolio here: https://cryptobobby.com/my-portfolio/ (RVN position almost as big as ETH)

His channel has 141k subs, so word about RVN will be spread even more  Smiley
I wonder if this is why the  price jumped.

Yeah maybe, but would all the people that subscribe really be buying ravens?

Seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy - that is, he predicts a coin is going to be the next big thing, his subscribers then go out and buy the coin and pump it, and hey presto, he was right! It is the next big thing!
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STRAKS - Decentralised, Open Source, Community Driven Digital Currency on: May 02, 2018, 03:18:43 AM
So, HitBTC is still a wet dream?

I hope not! But honestly there are plenty of good exchanges out there. As long as it is on a few that is a good enough start for me.
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: QBP | QBProject | ME2 POW / Masternodes | NEW ALGO | Low Premine on: May 01, 2018, 06:42:55 AM
New algo already developed, or hoping to make a new algo? Will it be a mix of existing algos, or something entirely different?

Also whats the PoW vs Masternode split and premine look like?

Great to see new projects like this, but further info and website development would help get more attention and see what you're trying to achieve Smiley

715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Pigeoncoin (PGN) – a cryptocurrency network with a new X16S (shuffle) algo on: May 01, 2018, 05:42:18 AM
I guess there is no news, updates or when the roadmap will be posted in this forum. you have to go to Social Media (Discord) if you want any info. Right now pigeon has no value and is not worth mining.
I've mined over 230k and I'll come back when it is worth coming back.

Should spend less time on discord, focus on website and development (and even this announcement thread)! Although it must be challenging to develop when there is, essentially, one developer. Only so many hours in the day.

A larger  team would definitely help pigeoncoin out - it is a very competitive market out there for new altcoins to position themselves as something new and long lasting.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: April 30, 2018, 05:15:55 AM
It is likely that Ravencoin has followed side-way for a long period of time.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ravencoin/
personally, I will wait to see dramatical changes in its daily volume to make my decisions to join the party.

Often you see projects tracking sideways or even a little down after the first few months of release, particularly if there is no big news. Part of the reason in my view is that the relative supply increases quite a bit over the first few months, which puts alot of downwards pressure on price.

Once a coin is a bit more established, lets say after a year, then one month worth of newly minted coins is less of an influx relative to the existing total supply.

So in short, if ravencoin can track sideways for the next month while all these newly minted coins come onto the market, then that is actually a bit of a win.
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: new 🔥 THE TABLE OF NEW BOUNTIES 🚀☀️ on: April 30, 2018, 02:03:24 AM
Great work - trawling through the bounty page looking for a good honest project to support can be extremely time consuming. Anything that helps streamline the process, and lets me focus on actually reading about interesting projects and contributing to this forum is fantastic.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POW] EtherFact: A new pure coin like Ethereum network with no premine... on: April 29, 2018, 09:54:04 AM
You mentioned there was no premine, but yet the team holds 185 (million?) ethf. I don't mind if there is a premine to support development, bounties and so on, but just be up front about it.

Also are you on main net now or still on test net?
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷trade.io🔷[ANN] [ICO]💲31,169,749 🔷Partner Civic & Bancor🔷HitBTC & OKEx on: April 29, 2018, 01:18:08 AM
Just hold tight guys and wait for the trade.io release their exchange site.
I see right now the price increases from yesterday and today.
For those who hold a large amount of tio hope that you can control your feeling and hold it until the price increase 1000%.
When there is so little time left before the final release, Hold is now the best solution. After the exchange is launched, the TIO token will be much more expensive

Maybe. Only if the exchange and liquidity pool is any good. If the product is released and people don't like it you'll see the price drop instead.

Right now it is increasing on speculation of a good product. But we'll have to wait and see.
720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Pow+Masternodes] [XERUM CASH] [PRE-SALE] [BOUNTY] [25% Mining 75% Nodes] on: April 28, 2018, 07:23:54 AM
Will there be a separate announcement page, or is this an announcement page, bounty page and website all wrapped into one Smiley

I like bounties that payout in something outside of the native coin currency, like this one appears to do with some bitcoin. Still think having the bounty page separate would make it easier to navigate.
