701  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Micropayments on bitcointalk.org on: July 02, 2013, 12:08:42 PM
Pretty sure this will never happen.  I don't think theymos wants the forum to be holding money for random people.

Plus we don't even have 2FA.
702  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking a team to develop Bitcointalk 2.0 forums (apply within) on: July 01, 2013, 07:12:51 PM
Google Authenticator is probably a solid option for 2FA, though I haven't looked into how it works at all.
703  Other / Meta / Re: How can I remove a sent rating? on: July 01, 2013, 06:54:17 PM
Go to the Trust section of the users profile that you left the rating on, next to your comment it should say '(Delete)'.
704  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking a team to develop Bitcointalk 2.0 forums (apply within) on: July 01, 2013, 05:24:40 PM
Optional

Optional... unless there's a service offered by the forum involving any type of trading/escrow/etc, required if you want to use those services.

I would really like to have Tapatalk support. And a lot of other users too (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2319.0)

That plugin is free. Why hasn't it been added?

This isn't the thread to talk about why something hasn't been added to the bitcointalk.org forums.
705  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking a team to develop Bitcointalk 2.0 forums (apply within) on: July 01, 2013, 03:31:51 PM
Has 2FA been mentioned?  With the recent hackings here I think it's definitely something to be considered for any serious forum.

As for moderators, I think unpaid is the way to go... the forum shouldn't exist for making money.  The only money that needs to be made (IMO) is to pay for hosting/other required services for the forum.
706  Other / Meta / Re: Activity on: June 30, 2013, 06:23:27 PM
Activity is based on the minimum of the number of posts and number of active two-week periods.

Ref: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0

Once you complete the next two week period your activity will increase by 14.

After the new Activity feature on bitcointalk.org Hero and Sr Members has a value.
Before that rule most spams and trolls where getting the Hero and Sr tags and those tags where worthless.
Now you have to work hard to get those cool tags. Tongue

Not really, it just takes time and posts instead of only posts.

I like that idea, the colors do get a little annoying.
708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling Jr. Member Account @ $2 per account on: June 28, 2013, 07:32:03 PM
For anyone who's going to report this:

Selling accounts is allowed
709  Other / Meta / Re: When is an Off-Topic thread TOO off-topic? on: June 28, 2013, 12:13:25 PM
It's in the trashcan now.  Trying to get rid of useless spam.
710  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking a team to develop Bitcointalk 2.0 forums (apply within) on: June 27, 2013, 08:29:30 PM
What would you do different if you were in charge of this forum?

Be a shitload more liberal with bans and deletion of useless posts.

EDIT:
Crazy amount of poll options much?  Need something that just says "yes"

Very professional, thank you for your useless contribution.  Take your hostility elsewhere you are banished from posting in my thread.  Future posts by you in this thread will be reported to the ADMIN as you are obviously trolling.

edit:
Tysat is a paid moderator in these forums.

I'm trolling?  I was being serious.

Am I not allowed to have opinions because I'm a mod?  I was a moderator before I was paid as well.

712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: " I use my credit card for the miles" on: June 26, 2013, 05:36:19 PM
The credit card companies normally charges the merchants 3-5% over the transaction cost.

If I use a credit card which gives me cash-back, and I pay off the card balance every month, why should I use cash instead?

Exactly!

I feel like I'm giving away money if I don't get the rewards from my card.  I lose nothing using them because I pay them off every month, and I get back a 1-2% on everything because I charge it all.

714  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project "Bitcoin No Noise" on: June 23, 2013, 01:16:14 PM
What was he banned for?

Trolling was the reason, though I don't know specifically what he was doing to get it.
715  Other / Meta / Re: ... Company specific Child board in /Custom hardware/ on: June 23, 2013, 01:23:09 AM
Yeah, I don't like the idea of giving some companies their own sub forum.

^^^

It turns into bad precedent real fast, then what happens when a new company comes along?  They'll want their own section, and how is it determined who gets one and who doesn't?

How many chip producer are there ?

3 and two of them already have their website.

There may not be many now, but do you know what the future will bring?

717  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project "Bitcoin No Noise" on: June 22, 2013, 09:12:50 PM
I wonder if the forum can include tools that make the economics of bit coin easier.  Things like 2 of 3 key generation for escrow so noobs can easily do escrow.

What do you think MNW?

Seems like a solid idea, some sort of escrow system (if built correctly) would be nice to have integrated.

Should the forum software be a distributed p2p network in itself, like Diaspora, so it wouldn't be as easy to take down / manipulate?

I definitely like that as well.  It would make it a lot harder to take down.

Also, I know MNW is banned though not sure for how long.  I wouldn't expect him to be responding to stuff here anytime soon.
718  Other / Meta / Re: When is an Off-Topic thread TOO off-topic? on: June 22, 2013, 09:07:57 PM
The keyword there is "might", I'm pretty sure anything goes in that section.
719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WE BUY YOUR ACCOUNT - GET BITCOINS TODAY!! on: June 22, 2013, 11:25:31 AM
Buying/selling forum accounts isn't against the rules.
720  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project "Bitcoin No Noise" on: June 21, 2013, 02:53:29 PM
Let's keep this thread on topic.... don't want to have to come back and delete more completely off-topic stuff.
