721  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Start now or later? on: November 17, 2023, 08:38:20 PM
At current prices, the mined block of Bitcoin brings the miner a profit of more than $231 thousand. However, against the backdrop of halving, this figure will decrease by 2 times.
Gregory Lewis, an analyst at brokerage BTIG, noted that there is now a clear sense of urgency among miners. Crypto miners are urgently upgrading their equipment and doing everything possible to increase capacity.

The standard block reward is $219 000(6.25 BTC) and another $36,000 in commissions, so the article contains real data.

722  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin spa in New York on: November 17, 2023, 08:09:34 PM
ASICs are immersed in immersion liquid, which has dielectric properties and ASICs operate safely in it. I am sure that the cooling of this liquid and heating of the pool occurs through a heat exchanger. The disadvantage of immersion liquid is that it is not cheap. If you swim in such a liquid, its composition may change.
723  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Where to place my miners? on: November 17, 2023, 08:03:43 PM
Thank you guys for your response…so i have launched the rig with the two miners and this are my stats so far ( it has been 5 hours) so inlet is 54 55 55 and outlet temp is 69 69 70 with 5700 fans speeds noise is not an issue so far since i am working with a 500sqmeter land….i have an exhaust fan (3960meter cuber/ hour rated) and i have proper intake fitted with dust filters…also the air coming in gets filterd two seprate times and has to also pass through two rooms to get to the miners so humidity is not an issue and ambient temp is from 17 Celsius during night and 28 degree Celsius around 3pm (hottest time of the day so based on this is it a good mining rig what do u think? Oh and also my city is resting 1,700 meter above sea level
I think that 2 ASICs will not give you any trouble even without filters and ventilation. The most important thing is that there is no moisture or industrial dust in the room, otherwise the fans may break down more often.
If you want to expand, then already calculate the ventilation for your mining equipment

725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New problems with the NVIDIA RTX 3080 video card on: November 17, 2023, 07:45:45 PM
I've heard about these new issues with the NVIDIA RTX 3080 cards, and it's indeed concerning. It's essential to stay updated on such developments, especially if you're a user of these GPUs.
The RTX 4080 has already been discontinued. Don't buy old RTX 3080
According to Board Channels, a site aggregating sources and information from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel board partners, NVIDIA has recently announced a discontinuation of two GPUs. The inventory cut off is now in place and these graphics cards would no longer be available starting this quarter. It is alleged that NVIDIA has stopped mass production of these GPUs.

The cards in question are RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080. NVIDIA has distributed the last inventory and board partners are now placing orders for their successors, the alleged RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4080 SUPER model that are expected to launch in January.

726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eloncoin will be massive. on: November 16, 2023, 05:10:11 PM
NASA and SpaceX are on target to launch the latter's Falcon Heavy rocket with the Psyche mission aboard at 10:19 a.m. Eastern on Friday, Oct. 13. The mission, which will travel more than 2 billion miles into the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, will test the limits of NASA's ability to explore the solar system's strangest and least studied objects remotely, and potentially shed light on how the Earth formed.

Scientists are relatively certain that Psyche's target asteroid, 16 Psyche, is a metal asteroid made up of mostly iron and nickel (it was once calculated to be worth $10 quintillion, or 10,000 trillion dollars). But only by traveling to 16 Psyche will they be able to know for sure. If these hypotheses hold up, then it makes it more likely that 16 Psyche is essentially shrapnel left over from the formation of planetary cores.

Will the next shitcoin be called Psyche? Or does it already exist?
727  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin spa in New York on: November 16, 2023, 04:49:52 PM
Swimming pools differ in water volume, from a small pool with 6 cubic meters of water to large pools in bath complexes with 30 cubic meters of water or more. For each pool it is necessary to make a calculation of the necessary equipment. The ideal option is not to use a radiator, but chlorinated water is most likely not suitable for cooling ASICs, unless they have special tubes.
Yeah, I understand that. But my question is what's the size of the pool or whatever it is in that spa in New York? Also, how are they harvesting the heat in order to make the water hot? If you use water cooling, then the same water keeps on looping and if the water itself is hot then how is that helping it to be cooled down? Either they are taking that heat to heat up the water somehow or it could be a double tubing process. One go straight to the water making it hot, and another tube is providing with cold water making the miners cold.

But it is also still not convincing. When you are supplying two types of water one of them being cold another one is hot, doesn't it eventually get averaged in a single temperature? Maybe they are doing something in a way that I don't understand or maybe I'm just dumb. I don't know man, I'm still confused.
Let's persuade philipma1957 to go to the Bitcoin spa Smiley Smiley
I looked at the price of electricity in New York and it is more than 15 cents there. I don’t think this is a lie, but this heating installation is more of an advertising nature than an industrial one. I think the easiest way is to use radiators because it's easier. And the operation of the installation itself does not have much effect.

728  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Auradine Shows Off New Teraflux AT2880/AI3680 Miners on: November 16, 2023, 04:41:18 PM
This is an American company, you can probably contact them via email.

sales@auradine.com
Minimum order 500 units.

But what chips do their ASICs run on?
These ASICs will be massively sold alongside the new S21 ASICs from Bitmain and they are the same in terms of energy efficiency.
729  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Where to place my miners? on: November 16, 2023, 04:35:36 PM
Hey guys i was gonna launch my first bitcoin mining rig with one whatsminer and one antminer?and i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what to put them on (i heard u cant leave the miners to mine on a table the vibration is not good for their longevity ) let me know ?.everything else has been taking care off the temp ventilation power all good🙏
If you have 2 ASICs and need to reduce noise, then think about buying a noise box.
2 fans or one do not cause strong vibration, so ASICs can be installed on ordinary shelves.
Do not install ASICs in damp areas and there where thieves can easily steal.
730  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: History of garage mining in Russia on: November 16, 2023, 04:29:52 PM
Wow, that's quite a situation! Those super cheap electricity prices gotta be bringing in some monster crypto mining operations.  Makes me wonder:

How often do people around there end up setting up mining rigs in their garages and stuff because of the low prices? Is it like a common thing for folks to do since electricity doesn't cost much? Do they have any rules or safety measures for people doing mining in residential spots?

I'm real curious if its widespread or if it's just a few folks trying to cash in.   But hey, cheap powers a nice perk if you can make some crypto money off it!
If you had electricity at $0.017 per kilowatt or slightly less, would you not be mining?
In Irkutsk in recent years, only lazy people have not invested in mining. In fact, there are a lot of such cases, and that’s why energy workers have started hunting for miners.
I'll tell you that electricity in the village is even 20-30% cheaper  Smiley

734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: November 15, 2023, 11:14:27 AM
According to reports from China, the company will only be able to export the RTX 4090 GPU to China and other countries within the same group for a month after the restrictions were initially announced. This means that, unlike the data-center products such as A100, H100, A800, and H800, the RTX 4090 can still be shipped to China, but only for the next two weeks.

According to the latest information, multiple AIC brands have confirmed that the RTX 4090 series will be completely banned from sales in the country after November 17th. It is advisable for everyone to purchase and cherish them while they are still available. […] It is reported that, in order to sell more units before the ban, various graphics card brands are increasing their shipments of the RTX 4090 series.

735  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Start now or later? on: November 15, 2023, 11:10:45 AM

Can I just insert my question here as I'm just as I'm also interested in mining but am unaware of which one and whether it's still profitable.
Unlike OP, our electric grip is stable but because it's going to be costly mining, I would probably choose to build a wind turbine or Solar for my power source, this however couldn't support mining BTC since the ASIC devices will need more power. Is there an altcoin that I can mine with just these sources of energy?

I will probably start when I get money after the bull run and if feasible. Seem a good idea to me.
If you are talking about mining on video cards, then look at any calculator to understand that it is now unprofitable.
https://hashrate.no/gpus
But for altcoins, many different ASIC models have now also been released, and ASICs have a faster payback period.
Wind and solar energy are unstable, and you will need a stable source of electricity.

Aren't the miners these days using green energy?
It's been claimed that more of the Bitcoin miners are already using Solar and Wind because of ESG compliance? or I must have read the wrong articles.
What if you live on top of the mountain or just along the shoreline, I think the wind turbine works well in that kind of area. It will keep turning day and night.
And with just the right kind of battery, I think it can sustain. I just have not seen anyone doing it though.
I think the miners use a lot of nuclear power or hydropower. This is also considered green energy.
If the miner receives power from a common energy system, then there may be different energy, which can be green and can be generated by burning solid fuel.
736  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin spa in New York on: November 15, 2023, 11:05:59 AM
This is good in theory, but when you start heating the water in the pool using ASICs, you will realize that you need a lot of ASICs; the efficiency of this method of heating water will be low. In some cases, it will be more profitable to use a household water heater, because the price of Bitcoin is low and the profit is small. And in the city it is very difficult to obtain permission for large electricity consumption and the price will be at a commercial rate.
I was going to ask the same question. How much heat are the miners generating which could heat the water so hot? Maybe I'm out of context but I have recently seen, (not recently but maybe few months ago) Linus tech tips aka LTT on YouTube. He was demonstrating how you can water cool your PC using your pool in the backyard. He was cooling the PC using his pool water and as he measured the heat, there was no change whatsoever. Maybe this doesn't relate to this. But they work the same way. Increase the amount of miners and you get more heat. But is it capable of heating the water to a level to be considered as hot.

Also when the heat is generated, looping that same water in order to cool down those miners may not be efficient and could eventually decrease the performance by generating more heat. I don't know how they are harvesting the heat in order to heat up water. But I think it's just a theme in order to attract more people. I'm still confused about this.

Some companies make big money from cloud mining

U.S-listed bitcoin mining operation Bitdeer booked a gross profit of $10.8 million on revenues of $15.6 million for its cloud mining segment in the latest quarter, the company said in an earnings release on Monday.

The Singapore-headquartered mining firm has provided a cost-of-revenue breakdown for each of its proprietary mining, cloud mining, and hosting segments for the first time, shedding more light on how mining companies diversify their proprietary hashrate to navigate the challenges of the bear market.

739  Bitcoin / Mining / History of garage mining in Russia on: November 15, 2023, 10:47:08 AM
Usolye-Sibirskoye is a city in the Irkutsk region of Russia with a population of less than 100,000 people.
Iskutsk is known for its cheap electricity prices in Russia.
For individuals in a garage, the price is about $0.017 per kilowatt.

In one of these garages there were approximately 9 ASICs with a consumption of 20-30 kilowatts per hour, and this garage was located next to the courthouse.
As a result of the fire, no one was injured, except for the ASICs and the garage, but there are many such stories in Irkutsk.

740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto market will top when we see ‘how do I mine BTC on my laptop’ posts here on: November 15, 2023, 10:35:24 AM
On the contrary, I see a big decrease in activity in mining communities, because video cards are not profitable, and ASIC mining is not suitable for all home miners.
And now there is already a lot of information that Bitcoin mining is simply unprofitable on any equipment except modern ASICs.
Stupid questions will arise when Bitcoin approaches the price of 60,000 dollars.

which will not be an ending indicator as 60k is too low for asics once the ½ ing comes.

the best btc miner is the s21 it will need 85 kwatts a day.

it is earning 16 a day today
and if the ½ ing  happens today it earns 8 a day.

so at 10 cent power todays price is okay and at the ½ not okay.

so we need to be at 74k for a ten cent power price to make money.

I start to see a lot of questions when 20 cent power works. we are no where near that.
I like real reports from mining companies. Even if they work 3 months a year in Texas, their profits are very different from standard calculations.
