i cant find fct on my exodus wallet..

It's not released yet. But the chances seem to be good that FCT will be included in the next Exodus-release.

If you've seen Screenshots: That was testing - I also was one of those who had the opportunity to test exodus with Factoids and it's great! Transactions in seconds btw.

Hello,

I own some Lykke and I am excited about the project. There is a similar project, Melonport (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1763204.0), running on ethereum. I find them very similar and at the end of the day offering similar products. Do you see any difference between the two?

As tempus explained Lykke current focus is a little different to Melonport. As far as I understand Melonport is creating a protocol that can be used to build tools for managing funds and tradeable assets. Kinda like Gnosis would be the base layer of prediction markets from where a company/site like Bet365 could be built on top on.

Lykke does not aim to be only "just an exchange" though, there are many plans for the future, including offering your own company stocks, create custom trading instruments and many other exciting ideas.

You may check out this Lykke Accelerator overview where more info about turn-key services are discussed:

https://www.lykke.com/company/news/lykke_accelerator

Lykke is more like an electric share, so it is impossible to list on main crypto exchanges, but it is on its active exchange, that is awesome.

Thanks for your inputs. There is a new ICO, nothing strange these days, offering a very similar service to Lykke: https://www.bancor.network/ What is your opinion? I think the competition will be huge and perhaps only one-two will survive. I like the fact that Lykke is done over colored coins, this gives it stability. The fact is that Lykke is a private company with very clear lead is also a plus ... or it may be seen as negative depending on who you talk to

Something that could potentially make bancor more competitive would be the immediate addition of all crypto to their exchange portfolio. In this regards Lykke is progressing very slow with only solarcoin listed. And Bancor will also exchange at a 0% (almost) fee

Lykke is not really slow, but in an early stage of course. Once the "base-building" is completed they'll add more assets, also do crowdfundings on the platform etc. I can't say much about similar projects but I don't know any that is ahead.

By the way: Ethereum-integration can be expected soon. Maybe/hopefully within the next 2 weeks.

So are you saying that factom is a scam?

Yes Factom is a scam, and its supported by the Department of Homeland Security, Bill gates, Draper Associates, Stewart Title, Overstock, Fenbushi Capital, Plug & Play, Peeli Ventures, and Harvest Equity,

Could be the best scam ever existed  Grin

With all that "support", I'd expect FCT to be manipulated hardcore and over the value of BTC, or at least ETH by now...
Why must you FUD one of the top 5 projects in the crypto space? Trying to buy cheap?

lolikop is just a little bit sarcastic/ironic - he is one of the top factom-supporters. ;-)
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: May 06, 2017, 12:57:11 PM
Hi guys,

Relatively new to cryptocurrency, so pardon my newbie questions. I have been reading and studying everything I can lately.  I would like to purchase some FCT that I will hold for the long term (no trading), but I have some questions about storing it first.  FCT doesn't have an easy to use wallet like many of the others.  I followed the directions here to set up the papermill: https://www.factom.com/devs/docs/howto/use-factoidpapermill

The papermill didn't launch at first, so I followed the directions, opening the terminal window, etc.

Now, every time I click on factoidpapermill-mac, it gives me a newly generated factoid private key and factoid address.  So all is well correct?

Now all I have to do is purchase the FTC on poloniex and then send those purchases to the factoid address that was generated?  Then I just need to store the FTC privatekey and FTC address on paper and keep them in a safe place?

Since this isn't like a typical wallet I'm used to, how will I confirm the transfer was actually completed?  How will I ever view my balances?  How would I ever send them to another wallet such as Exodus (when the option becomes available)?

Thanks for all your help in advance.  It's much appreciated.

The simple way would be this:

1. You generate a key-pair with the papermill (or more if needed)
2. You send FCT from Polo to the address (and you store the private key safe and in best case offline)
3. You can check the balance of that address on the explorer: http://explorer.factom.org (just copy-paste the adress)

(sidenote: the explorer lagged a little bit in the last weeks but they are working to solve it or it is already solved)

4. If you want to transfer your FCT you can import the private key into exodus (once it's released).

A screenshot how to do that (Mac, but PC won't be that different is my guess): http://imgur.com/QYAin3c

What I do to be extra safe:

1. I use an old laptop that stays offline
2. I generate a keypair with papermill
3. I've also the wallet installed - it is offline of course because the laptop is offline, but it's possible to import the private key to doublecheck

sidenote: there was never a problem

4. I send FCT on the address
5. private key doesn't touch any online device until I want to move my Factoids.

Thanks for the prompt response.  Pardon my ignorance, what's a key-pair?   Huh  Is that just what I generated with the FTC address and FTC private key?

Yes, right. It's always about..

- public key - the address and can be made public (in fact it is public because it's displayed on the explorer)
- private key - should be stored as secure as possible

Antshares doing well at the moment because japan/china.
I think this coin wil hit $5 within 3 months.
The volume is huge and the contract with alibaba must rise the price.

Correction. Alibaba and AntFinances are in talks, not AntShares. Both have Eric as CEO but different last name. AntShares can go up anyways but not that much in that sort time. It's still risky, but worth monitoring.

What I hope is that it will develop similar like Factom (not the usecase of course, but what I mean is: Factom was very long totally under the radar and the team didn't make much marketing, didn't communicate much with the community, the Factom-software (wallet) was not very user-friendly etc. But the Factom team is very professional, hard working, and honest. The price reflects all that and the marketcap is at nearly $80 million today.

If the ANS-team is also professional, skilled, honest - I hope we can expect similar development-progress, nice partnerships on the business-front, and huge potential on the market. Antshares even has one advantage: we bought shares instead of a system-currency.

And the system currency is Antcoins which I accumulated long ago.  Cool

Right... we hold both! Smiley

That will be interesting to see, if ANC will have value - if all goes well yes.

a web wallet is needed !

It's in development:

What to expect next?

The short term plan is to enhance the settlement process and do most of the settlement offchain in the state channels, with guaranteed mechanisms to protect both the client and the exchange. The offchain will help to minimize cost of settlement (which is already above $2 per tx on bitcoin blockchain), allow limit orders and high-speed trading for clients. Users will be able to send limit orders inside the spread, thus, improving liquidity. We will provide API for this and introduce a web-based terminal.

Hi, all. i've been so excited and rather worried about this boom of cryptocurrency market nowadays.

But it's looking that there still are some good chance to get huge benefit, if we try to find some.

And Lykke is one of my recent starred lists to invest in.

I decided to be a shareholder of Lykke, and i downloaded an iOS app and noticed that there are 2 options to be a shareholder.

The first is LKK (equity) and the latter one is LKK1y (forwards).

And the price of LKK1y is somewhat higher than LKK, as we can see in the stock market.

But in my thought, it'd be much better to buy LKK instead of buying LKK1y, since there's no benefit to buy

forwards with higher price, which we can't use margin trade or on short position as well.

Can anyone explain what LKK1y buying advantage instead LKK is?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my lack of Eng. since i am learning nowadays.

You are right that there is no advantage in buying forwards if the price is higher then usual LKK, but that was just a temporary and more unusual situation.

In general it can be expected that LKK1Y is cheaper than LKK and the advantage is exactly that. It's possible to buy LKK1Y and to trade it like usual LKK, and/or: To settle it and 365 days after doing that, the user will get LKK 1:1. Disadvantage: Once it's settled it's not possible to trade the forwards anymore, but for Investors who are longterm-focused it doesn't seem to be problem.

Some advantages of the forwards in general: Lykke did a short LKK1Y-crowdfunding in February and while Investors are usually concerned that additional supply on the market might pressure the price, that is not the case with the forwards. Also in one year the supply won't hit the market at once but more float it over time - dependent on the time individual Investors decided to settle their forwards.

Another very interesting point is: It can be seen as a sign of optimism that the LKK1Y-price comes close to LKK, because it means that more and more Investors have settled it and the decreasing supply lifts the price whenever there is demand. Once the price is close to LKK ppl tend to buy LKK of course.

In Short: The forwards have a lot of advantages and reason for interesting market dynamics.

A more in depth explanation about LKK1Y can be found here:
