7701  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: calculate profit/loss on: February 15, 2015, 05:17:18 AM

Don't ise this calculator, difficulty doesn't increase correctly.

   -MZ
Difficulty estimates is never actually accurate. Hashrate can vary due to factors such as ambient temperature, difficulty drop and price rise. The best option is to roughly estimate the worst scenario and see if you can make a profit.
7702  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Linux clients that don't need to download gigs of the blockchain? on: February 15, 2015, 05:15:19 AM
I recommend GreenAddress to you.

   -MZ
Greenaddress requires you to remember your Mnemonic phrase. If you happen to be travelling and forgot to bring a paper with Mnemonic phrase with you or it isn't stored in your computer, you won't be able to access it until you find it. Greenaddress however, offers more protection against hacking attempts and could lessen the damage. This is however, not necessary for OP as ubuntu have very few viruses around.
7703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I use dark wallet or dark coin? on: February 15, 2015, 04:50:07 AM
Sorry I don't understand what you mean by not spending them together or sending to same wallets? I want to send from wallet A to my wallet B (change address everytime). Is there a way to do this securely with min traceability
In every transaction there's a input. You can spend two wallets in one transaction together. If you accidentally do that, your first address will be tied to the other one and people will know that both of them are controlled by the same owner. Send the change to a mixer for example, [INPUT A] -> [OUTPUT A (The person you want to pay to]) [OUTPUT B(The change) sent to the address you generated using a mixer] the mixer can then send the change to a seperate new address.
7704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand - Who uses Faucets? , and why? on: February 15, 2015, 04:26:10 AM
wouldn't some people have botnets too to get a little extra bitcoin from faucets? i'm sure some bots would be able to crack capthcas on some of these faucets. i'd imagine they'd make a good amount of bitcoin by running a botnet on bitcoin faucets.
this is a good theory , and something i'd actually belive cause i have a hard time beliving there's people spending countless hours doing the captcha's :>
OCRs have very low accuracy, they take sometime before it solves the captcha. The ads in the browser could cause computers to slow down and become noticeable. Most faucet uses either recaptcha or solvemedia which is close to impossible to solve using OCRs right now. Think about it, if owners knows their captcha can be solve by OCR s, they would likely to change it as repeated viewing would yield less profits.
7705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: no comfirmations with fee on: February 15, 2015, 04:14:25 AM
Blockchain often does the same with my transactions and it takes over an hour to confirm few while one transaction of mine did not get confirmed for 2 days and then the transaction was cancelled.  Embarrassed
It happens with every wallet if fees aren't high enough. Transactions will drop out of mempool if the transaction is in it for a period of time waiting for confirmation. Provided that the client don't rebroadcast it, it will drop out of mempool. If client does rebroadcast it, it will confirm eventually. If you don't mind waiting for longer time and just want to have a free transaction, use a client that rebroadcast automatically or rebroadcast it yourself manually.
7706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is skrill is charge back? need urgent answer please? on: February 14, 2015, 05:39:04 PM
AFAIK anything CC funded is reversible.

   -MZ
Yup correct. It is worth noting that if someone starts a dispute you would not likely win since most of the bank hates Bitcoin a lot. You would not be able to provide a proof of transaction, TXID are not considered as one. If they call their bank and say their credit card is compromised, the bank will chargeback and refundr them.
7707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin nodes on: February 14, 2015, 05:34:25 PM
There are much cheaper option than this. Even with the promo, this can still be expensive to run a Bitcoin. Bitcoin core only needs 1GB of ram a good CPU and at least 40gb of disk space. Look at lowendbox for even cheaper solutions.
I don't get you. The website you provided is a list to the network nodes.
7708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: a little help please ? on: February 14, 2015, 05:28:04 PM
Huh
Anyway, now OP has a budget and wants to go ASIC, I'd call myself out.
so only way is scrypt farm??
Mining game is really out for everyone even if you invest in ASICs. There are huge farms using ASICs to mine Bitcoin. Even with new hardwares, it may become obsolete even before you ROI. Alt coins are relatively volatile so it wouldn't be a good choice too.
7709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand - Who uses Faucets? , and why? on: February 14, 2015, 04:09:38 PM
I dont think thats bots can solve the capthcas. its impossible

There is bots which can solve simple captchas such as recaptcha's captcha. Solvemedia, Minteye and areyouahuman captchas are even better. But there are bots which takes specific captchas from websites and will give to paid captcha solvers(humams).

P.S. If you want to look for yourself, go to browser extension/plugin store, search for captcha solver and install it and open a faucet which has recaptcha. Solvemedia may not work.

   -MZ

hmm thats great information  Grin thanks lol i will try if there are few sites so i can use that bot
but what is  recaptcha's?

thanks
It is currently a captcha service provided by Google(http://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/) it was originally developed by another team before acquired by Google. Google use it to digitize books and for Google street view to determine location.

AFAIK, no automated bot can solve recaptcha at all. If bots are detected, they will just increase the difficulty. Even if OCRs are created, the accuracy will be very low. Most of them are just human captcha solving services. Solvemedia involves the user to click on the screen which can be abit complicated.
7711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to invest on: February 14, 2015, 03:58:34 PM

If you want some free help about how to run your own bitcoin faucet websites and earn profit from the ad revenue streams just contact me on Skype: karl.moneyinpjs

I offer 100% free help to get you going in the right direction.

how much start-up capital to make bitcoin faucet?
I guess 0.3 should be enough for the funds ONLY. The hosting would be cheap depending on which hosting you want to use. Provided that your faucet will become very popular, you will be able to earn the amount invested. If it isn't, then you probably would lose your investment.

hmmm 0.3? does not matter if the result will be more than that in one month Smiley

I only profit from an ad?
Solvemedia does allow users to earn by using their captcha solving plugin. If you integrate it, it may be a side income. Like pooya said, earning varies due to the location and quality of the visitors. Some advertisers don't pay for visitors from certain country or just pay less.
7712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: February 14, 2015, 03:55:57 PM
It has been solved with the current Beta release of Bitcoin core 0.10.

I would strongly advise against using that codebase; it is of questionable quality and security. The Bitcoin Foundation recommends starting at version 0.5.3 and from there, applying some patches to remove some of the more obvious malicious bits of code.
Review the code and build it yourself then. Why would you say it's of questionable quality and security? It has been verified by lots of people and the lead developer of Bitcoin. It would obviously be a good choice to use 0.9.3 as it is the most stable currently. You would just be wasting your time trying to make changes.
7713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand - Who uses Faucets? , and why? on: February 14, 2015, 01:35:52 PM
Since newbies would likely not have much knowledge in Bitcoin, they are unable to post constructively on the forum. To truly understand Bitcoin, one must try to send or receive Bitcoin. There's where the faucet comes in.
7714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GreenAdress , safe ? on: February 14, 2015, 01:33:35 PM
Greenaddress is pretty safe. Even though it is online, they only keep one of the key to authorize the payment. They need the other key to steal your funds. Even if they close down, you can still recover the BTC you kept there using the nlocktime function.
7715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC Core Total Size? on: February 14, 2015, 01:33:14 PM
Unless you are a developer, want to help the network or just want to use the features in Bitcoin Core, a lightweight client would do the job of sending and receiving Bitcoin just fine. Make sure that the lightweight client that you are going to use is opensourced though.
7716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Bitcoin node ? and how to setup one on: February 14, 2015, 12:12:45 PM
I have the blockchain downloaded already because I'am using Bitcoin Core since sometime . and I have 8 connections open or more does it mean that the ports are openeed by default or I still have to open them , each answer confuse me more to be honest
Click the help menu and the debug window. If there is at least one incoming connection, you are running a full node. If not, you have to open TCP 8333.
7717  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Bitcoin node ? and how to setup one on: February 14, 2015, 11:56:32 AM
Bitcoin Nodes relay data across the blockchain.
people need it of course to transact, but don't worry there are already a lot of nodes, but it would be great if you became one.

to become a Bitcoin Node, start up the Bitcoin Core and open the ports needed.
There was a dicussion about the dropping of the amount of nodes. If there are no nodes, there will be no blockchain and no mempool which is the backbone of Bitcoin.
Quote
I see , let's say all nodes close or whatever , Bitcoin won't work or Bitcoin Core is the one that won't be able to work ?
Bitcoin will die, nodes form the backbone of Bitcoin, having a copy of the blockchain and relaying transaction. Without it, no one will be able to receive, send or mine coins. The probability of this happening is pretty low but running more nodes is better for decentralization.
Quote
I only Open Bitcoin Core and ports and that's it ? and is there is any option on the Bitcoin Core to check if I'am running the node right or I should get a messag eor something ?
Yes, you don't have to do anything other than opening ports. You should see more than 8 connections after sometime at the lower right.
In order to become a node all you simply need to do is run the bitcoin client.
No, you have to open ports and more specifically, run Bitcoin Core and download the full chain.

Successful 27 euros transaction completed. A small delay but Cryptology was polite overall. Smooth transaction and would transact again in the near future. Thanks.
7719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Bitcoin node ? and how to setup one on: February 14, 2015, 11:42:03 AM

Basically What is a Bitcoin node exactly and whta do I need to setup one ? Possible to run it on my PC or not ? (Yes even if I don't shutdown my PC) but should I open ports etc ... ?
Anyway please give me the needed informations and what should I know about Bitcoin notes . thanks
Bitcoin node is basically a Bitcoin core setup that allows the relaying of transactions and allow clients to connect to you to download blocks. This strengthens the Bitcoin infrastructure and enables people running Bitcoin client near you to download blocks faster. It is possible to run on any PC that has a ram of at least 1GB ,at least 40GB of disk space and internet connection. To allow clients to connect to you, open port TCP 8333. The network needs stable nodes with high uptime and speed rather than computers that shuts down often as other clients would have to find another node when you shut it down.
7720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is the minimum memory requirements for bitcoind? on: February 14, 2015, 10:58:59 AM
512mb would be the bare minimum to run Bitcoind. To run it with some connections, try using 1GB of ram. It is not possible to upgrade ram on this version of raspberry pi however. Do note that SDcard's lifespan will be reduced under heavy load of read and writes.
