8581  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CEX.IO lowers maintenance cost by 10% and decreases withdrawal fee 10 times on: July 23, 2014, 01:10:13 PM
Actually they've been continually slagged off for the high running costs of their hosted GH/s.... guess people are getting what they asked for.
So this is for good will essentially.

How hard can it be to set up a competitor to GHash?

BTC Guild is the second largest pool at 24%. And there are alternatives to CEX.IO such as PBMining. But GHash.IO/CEX.IO has a strong advantage over others since the pool and the cloud mining operations are rolled into one.

Plus, GHash.IO has no fees. Not quite sure about the others.
P2pool also can be set up locally such that there are no fees. However, there were issues with some hardwares. Stability, support for hardwares and interface is pretty much most of the people would be concern about.

Why do they need to offer such an incentive when they dominate the market?  It is like De Beers lowering the price of diamonds...
They probably want to have even more hashrate than before. IMO, it is a bad time to do this since miners would be encouraged to join, increasing the hashrate when they already have a huge amount of hashrates already.

It's been a while since I've been on the PD signature as I moved over to the fixed deals as they're better for me as I only do around 50-100 posts, but I'm eager to see if Stunna moves to a fixed rate. Hopefully he'll better the current deals or make it 100 posts instead of 50 or something. Will the new deals be coming for Pd3?

Starting from next month I think stunna is moving onto fixed payments based on activity but I'm not sure as I have only heard this off other members.

I think per constructive post is much more fair - activity based a member can do all month nothing and still get paid.

Not really, most campaign requires X amount of post to qualify for a payout. I agree this is less unfair since users can post very little per month and still get paid. It gives more advantage for those bought accounts too.
8584  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coins stolen from my wallet?!? on: July 23, 2014, 12:15:08 PM
For maximum security, use maximum paranoia. Assume that any script or wallet he gives you is invasive malware that's intent on stealing your bitcoins.

Create a brand new wallet (on a different machine, that's never had his stuff installed) using the standard client and configuration (not anything that he set up for you), and send any remaining bitcoins from your old wallet to your new one.

Then delete both the bitcoind wallet and game script, and if in doubt, wipe the computer(s) that had them installed and only reinstall trusted things.

For a lower, but still reasonable, level of security/paranoia, create a new wallet with a new password and transfer the old wallet's bitcoins to it. It's important to not reuse a possibly-compromised wallet, even with a new password and new addresses, because of the key pool. This pool basically means that he's (possibly) already downloaded your private keys, not just for your past addresses, but for your next 100, too.

And if possible, inspect the game script for anything suspicious, or simply stop using it. Or use it only on a computer that cannot access the bitcoins, and in which you never type your wallet password.

In any case, do not use any passwords (RPC, wallet, etc.) or wallets that he gave you, since they could be compromised.
You would be likely infected if you download the wallet, even if you copied it from elsewhere, your other computer could have been infected and you loaded the drive to the other computer, resulting in another infected computer. To be honest, I'm thinking some viruses can immediately dump your private key once you have generated a wallet, it is the best to use it on a offline computer.

now, is it 30 activity to become a junior member? and are campaigns for junior members or mostly for members and up

Yes.
There are only 2 campaigns for newbies and jr members, and a few more for members+.
Please check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0 for everything you need to know about those sig campaigns.

777 is my best choice as a junior member, but how do i join their campaign? do i have to make an account with them or what
To join, post your address, and starting post on the thread. Next, you can add your referral link into the signature link too. You can edit your personal message and signature here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=forumProfile
8586  Other / Meta / Re: remove limits from bitcointalk.org account on: July 23, 2014, 12:00:46 PM
It's possible to have it reduced significantly by being whitelisted, though personally I rarely do that on request, better to have someone vouch for you.
What would the requirements be to get whitelisted, and what would happen when someone vouches for you?

Would this remove the posting limits?
Valid reasons, the person, I think preferably trusted among the forum would guarantee you won't spam up the forum. There isn't posting limits, only posting intervals.
8587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is My Rig good for Mining? on: July 23, 2014, 11:58:34 AM
Why has nobody suggested mining CPU coins?

Here is a list of them:

http://www.cpucoinlist.com/

Bitcoin mining is only for ASICs now, which OP doesn't have. Scrypt mining is for AMD cards and ASICs, which OP doesn't have either. But CPU coins can still be mined with OP's CPU. These can then be traded for bitcoins on an exchange.
CPU uses a lot of your total CPU usage. It isn't good if the OP is also using it for browsing. The heat would typically get quite high and you can't get a few of those CPU in one machine. People uses botnet to mine those CPU coins and the difficulty would rise. Alt coin's value are typically very low which isn't even enough to cover the power cost.

how do you guys keep track of the posts to fill out the claiming form aftwerwards? and do yo guys fill it out on 16ths?

sorry, one last thing...I think I forgot to click "send" in the form before this post, but my sigature was in place....I hope this will be no problem
It shouldn't be a problem when you have filled it correctly, click send and left the next page blank. Stunna do not rely on post counts on this thread, this is to remind you at 17th of the month how much post have you started withpost.
8589  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 22, 2014, 01:46:43 PM
Is there still confirmation about that am I succesfully in this campaign?
Stunna updates them on a few weeks basis. Once you filled the form correctly, you are in.

you can suggest me or not, how to config javascript for 1200 satoshi

click see image

You can use the default RabbitScript configuration. It should work fine.

i use default cofig, but can't run
http://upic.me/i/rz/61untitled.png
Try to claim for faucet more. It would immediately bust if you use that config at 1k satoshis.

1 hour for a restart is a bit unexpected ehehe...

well when you come back give me a special bonus then.

username: hello12312

Thanks!!!
Just be patient, Stunna don't owe anyone anything. It isn't his fault that his server isn't working well. We can't blame him, the most we could do is just to wait. It is already good enough for PD to have a faucet and have happy hours, couldn't ask for more.

how do you guys keep track of the posts to fill out the claiming form aftwerwards? and do yo guys fill it out on 16ths?
I go through my post and I would have a rough idea of how much I need to deduct as non constructive post. I subtract the enrolled post count from the post made that month and roughly estimate the amount of non constructivenon and deduct it too. I usually fill it up on 17th.

looks like much work lol....maybe better to use a counter software or a diary? you would register a constructive post while you write it.

also "constructive post" is so relative. this should be defined better in first post here.

even a
Quote
+1
could be constructive

These post constructive
must be post construction with at least 10-15 words,
and must be sensible not spam
Anything that contributes to the discussion is counted as constructive. There is no rule that 10-15 words post is constructive. Even a 8 word post can be constructive, depending on the reply.

But +1... is not constructive !

it could be constructive yes. for example, once makes a very good suggestion and you +1 it it is like a voting for it to be computed....but yea i get the point.

last question: do posts here in this thread count?
Probably, Stunna hasn't said this anywhere and he hasn't banned members for this. However, try not to post too much here as it is no use for Stunna and he can deny your payment, although unlikely but it isn't useful for advertising.

Ya, after the first start of the newly setup OS I used the IE to download Chrome and Opera. Damn! My router has a very strong password generated using KeePass, which obfuscates even the copy and paste process.

At the moment my antivir (Microsoft Essentials) states that my computer should be free, even after I rebooted etc. After that I created a new wallet using blockchain.info and I hope that now I am save?!?
OH DAMNNNNN Microsoft essential? Using that as a reference anti virus is a no no, they do not detect viruses well. Try installing fresh copy of official Linux OS. Windows have far too much viruses

Why not? I've been using Microsoft Essentials since years and have never had any problem with it.
Obviously I don't create cold storage wallets in this OS, but for trading small quantity of coin I think it's enough secure.
It can be a good antivirus but FUD viruses can easily get pass antiviruses. No prevention can 100% prevent malware from being installed. Relating to your claim, http://www.howtogeek.com/173291/goodbye-microsoft-security-essentials-microsoft-now-recommends-you-use-a-third-party-antivirus/. They scored pretty low in the recent years.

8597  Other / Meta / Re: Pay a fee to remove limits from account on: July 22, 2014, 10:53:15 AM
It isn't fair for some people. Newbies are usually new to bitcoin. They would be turned off by the fact that they cannot remove limits since they do not have BTC. It wouldn't give the forum good image since they are pocketing newbies money. Spam bots can also spam the whole forum up without waiting for a few minutes.
8598  Economy / Lending / Re: Need Loan 0.2 BTC Payable after 7 days with 10% interest rate (No Collateral) on: July 22, 2014, 10:43:06 AM
0.2 BTC?

Thats the EXACT SAME AMOUNT tradefortress was looking for.

obvious alt is obvious
tradefortress? Who is he? Before you say something negative look at yourself first...

I'll loan you 0.1BTC if you give me your account info as collateral
I think 0.1 is not ok for a personal information.. and what if i tell you a Lie? and give false information?..
You can check my profile.. and i am also a trader in localbitcoin with 70+ confirmed trades.. I need the Coins just for today. if no one will lend me i'll close this thread.

Thank You

Just so anyone considering giving him the loan is aware, seandaniel has a concurrent has a loan with me. He requested for 0.4 btc, I loaned him 0.1 btc already, due July 28.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=701592.msg7940328#msg7940328

exactly...
Tradefortness is the legend who scammed 4100BTC. He isn't in any position to assume however, if he is going to accuse everyone of being a scammer just for trying to loan the same amount as the scammer. If you really desperately need a loan, consider the person who offered your account for 0.1 BTC but however, using escrow.
8599  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Miner fee on: July 22, 2014, 10:37:59 AM
As others had said, transaction fee is a fee to pay miners to include your transaction into the blockchain. But there are ways to send a free transaction. If you have enough bitcoin, something like 0.1 btc, you can leave them idle and accumulate maturity. Read about it on the wiki, I am still researching.
It also depends on the size. If the size is too big, you will have to still pay a miner fee, no matter how old your coin is.  The size is affected by the amount of inputs and/or outputs.
8600  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: any way to get a couple mBTC for free? on: July 22, 2014, 10:07:49 AM
Actually there are ways to make that small amount of btc from gambling sites, without investing anything since most gambling sites give free faucets and I have seen ppl make upto 0.1 from that.
That would take a lot of skills. In PD's happy hour, you can get 0.0001 per minute, if you continuously claim them and the varience doesn't change too much, you can get up to 0.003 or less per hour. It is hardly possible for people to make more than 0.01 from gambling faucets.

Ofcourse it takes a bit of skill but a lot of luck for the most part, but OP just wanted to some free btc and this is the best option I could think of, the only thing that will cost him in doing this is "time", if he can afford that. And I have my made 0.001 from faucet on luckynumber and pd many times, it just requires a bit of patience really.
You would really need a ton of patience, if you only get 1000-100 satoshis per minute, it is nearly impossible to make it into 0.001, a very very huge increase. The house edge can also make you lose.
