8221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: September 10, 2014, 07:06:19 AM
I really don't know what to do . I like Bitcoin core .. but that blockchain size downloading takes for ever  Shocked  Shocked so should I go with blockchain.info or take Multibit ? what's the safest ? thanks

Both solutions leave your secret key under your control.  In theory.  I use blockchain.info because last I looked Multibit required a Java install which is not available for my secure platform and which I don't even feel comfortable installing on my non-secure Windows machine.  To much bloat, opacity, and weirdness with that framework for my tastes.  I'm not a frequent Bitcoin user and hope that if blockchain.info's JS infrastructure is compromised, someone would note it in code before I got screwed.  I don't think I've done a transaction since the selling opportunity early in the year, though, and have not kept up on things lately.

Yes. That's right! But is blockchain.info really secure? It is web wallet, so it might get hacked any time. IMO it is better to use Mutlibit HD which is a little better than Multibit. Remember, it is in Beta stage, so if you want a stable one, you can use Multibit. If you can't install Java, you can use Electrum. Smiley

is there a way to make bitcoin blocks minimum?

Now there is no option to make it. If you can't download whole blocks, then use other wallets like Multibit, Electrum or any web wallet(not recommended) such as Blockchain.info, Coinbase, Hive etc...

  ~~MZ~~
There is a huge difference between blockchain.info wallet and any other wallets. Some of the online wallet service are shared wallet which means you do not control the private key. You can request blockchain.info to send you a copy of your wallet and you could also export the private key. On blockchain.info, the person controlling the private key is only you, they have no access of the private key. You can enable two factor authentication for a better security however.
8222  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Energy efficiency. on: September 10, 2014, 06:58:37 AM
Hello,

i've been thinking about how much energy proof of work stage uses why dont they just let it be proof of stake to use alot less energy, wasnt that the point? I've heard it may go up. Grin
Monopoly have more chance of happening in proof of stake. Exchanges with huge wallets can generate more blocks using the user's funds. It is possible for someone to 51% the network by having half of the coins. Anyone can easily 51% the network by borrowing coins or buying the coins. Proof of work requires computing power which consumes energy and requires a lot of hardware which exchanges most probably don't have and is more expensive to carry out.

If everything else fails, try:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

You might want be quick because if your account was hacked, your posts with BTC addresses might be in process of deletion/edition.
I'm pretty sure theymos can recover deleted or edited posts. PMs and locked threads are uneditable so if you send your BTC address there, you should link theymos to the place and sign the message associated with the address. There are cases which emails go into the junk, you might want to check there.

I know stunna gets a lot of shit when his site is down/not working. So i just want to personally thank you for having a functional site and great chat Smiley

Huge part of issues is fixed, if not all. So it would be way better now.

Working flawlessly on my phone.

On your phone?

It looks very bad on my phone because there is no mobile version or did I miss that?

Everything is compressed...
I believe someone here suggested downloading Chrome browser on your phone and using that to browse PD3. It works for me Smiley

I use chrome on my phone.
You can login and see your achievement and stuff but cannot bet or see balance as the sidebar is not fixed yet. The site isn't fully functional on the mobile.
8226  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: September 07, 2014, 12:48:30 PM
I'm probably going to end this campaign after this term as dealing with this has become a full time headache.

Thanks

Please, don't apply a permanent solution for a temporary problem (that regards a few annoying users)
My opinion exactly, these problematic users could be removed as it's minority of them not majority.
I agree with this. Signature campaign is more effective than forum advertising since they can get more impressions at a lower cost. However, I see that Stunna may be quite busy with the website itself so he can ask someone else to manage it.
8227  Economy / Services / Re: [NEW!] MoneyPot Signature Campaign - [OPEN] Earn BTC For Just Posting! on: September 06, 2014, 11:28:16 AM
Username: bitcoinexp
Rank: member (full member but I want to get the member slot)
Number Of Posts (including this one): 234
Bitcoin Address: 1AYC4XvXHyefAYHFDtbDEL5dZtB6R5Eckw

Sorry dude, your other account is in the campaign already. I'll give the chance to someone else.

Just wanted to clarify on this. This is the account which I own, Bitcoinexp. And that bitcoinexp (no capitals) is not my account. What are the odds of us signing up for the same signature campaign? Just because some people choose similar names for accounts, doesn't mean that they are all alts of a single owner Tongue
Sorry, dude whoever you are, for the mix-up that ended in you not getting a spot, hope you get a spot somewhere else  Smiley

Clearly, (sorry not good enough) you're laboboy31's alt account. He wouldn't just post his username as yours "accidentally" as you suggest.

Likewise, Bitcoinexp and bitcoinexp are both regarded as equal usernames in this forum, in otherwords you can't register both.

Just because some people choose similar names for accounts, doesn't mean that they are all alts of a single owner Tongue
Often it does mean they are alts.

Bitcoinexp isnt exactly a common username one would choose over their own bitcointalk username (in this case laboboy31).

I don't mean any disrespect, but I swear on every bloody piece of holy scripture that i am not whoever that you're accusing me off, and please remove the negative trust on me. I thought it was slightly humorous that someone who had the same name as me tried signing up on a signature campaign moments after i did. And he didn't get a spot because we have the same name. So I just wanted to clarify that I'm not whoever you accused me of and now you dropped a negative trust on me. What kind of proof do you want? You can compare my posts with whoever the guys is that you're accusing me of being. You can even compare the registration date. Or my posting habits or whatever.

I'll keep it short and simple, please kindly remove the negative trust on me if you have no actual proof that I'm someone else other than, identical names.  *rolling my eyes*

EDIT: If you want you can ask theymos or any other mod to check the IPs of those accounts and see if it matches with mine. I highly doubt it.

Why the hell are you so mindful about a untrusted feedback? Posting habit can be faked, so does IP addresses. There isn't a way to prove that you are not him.
8228  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game| 0.91% Edge| PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 02, 2014, 02:49:21 PM
It's pretty much impossible to play pvp right now with the chat problems, I hope it gets fixed soon.

Now that the site seems to be up/stable our current goal is fixing sockets so you can chat/see all bets.
stunna said his site was stable Tongue
Forgive me, I didn't manage to see that. I don't think he meant 100% uptimes as he would still need to upgrade sockets. Even Google have downtimes after being so stable.
8229  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game| 0.91% Edge| PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 02, 2014, 02:45:03 PM
site is down stunna you need to compensate players or they will stop gambling on your site
downtime is not except able
I think downtimes are somehow acceptable. You cannot expect a site which have newly upgraded to not have issues and have downtimes. It isn't reasonable for Stunna to spend extra BTC compensating users especially if they never play here before which you can never determine. I don't see how loyal and big gamblers would abandon PD just because of downtimes and optimizations. PD is very trusted overall with extremely nice graphics so even with downtimes, people would still go there to gamble.
downtime causes people to question legitimacy of the site. I have been on primedice since the very beginning so. Stunna has in the past infact compensated due to downtime so.
You realise Stunna have a very good reputation, people who see it would trust him immediately. In the past, the software was considered to be relatively stable and was created and launched long ago, it have only been less than a month when PD2 was upgraded to PD 3, it is natural to expect downtimes as optimizations are being made.

No, that is really high

That is actually quite cheap already, based on the market rate. I usually see them going at about 0.15BTC.
8232  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: September 02, 2014, 01:14:34 PM
yeah just once again goes to show the trust system is abused nonstop by users who think they r some kind of power police supermans throwing stones at every1.  there is not a single proper justification to give bipolarbob negative trust... only a tard would do that

~CfA~
I think the point of the negative trust given to him was because he was encouraging people to act in ways that would make it easy for them to get scammed. If people saw that someone was able to send $2 in bitcoin to someone first and they receive a $100 gift card then why would they not send $2,000 in bitcoin to a complete stranger in exchange for $3,000 worth of products?

It isn't his entire fault if this happens. He does have a excellent track record and people would be able to risk smaller sums of money. It isn't his responsibility to educate the public to make decisions but the public have to make wise decisions based on their research. The $2,000 is far to exaggerated, no one would dare to risk such high amount of money for returns as even if the person is trusted, he may scam. Bipolarbob offers smaller amounts which many people can afford to take the risk.

Payment, though slightly late, was received for this sig campaign.

Removed negative trust, and will post positive trust since he paid all others.

You are the first Sr. Member who joined this campaign. And also you are the first who posted me a negative trust... Well Done...

However I do appreciate you....

Hey, I bet the -6 in Red you saw next to your name after logging in made you sweat a little.  Wouldn't be good for future business I bet.  I'm also the only guy with enough trust to give you that little +1 next to your name you have now, so be nice!   Tongue

You paid out to all members, so no harm no foul.  I'd join your campaign again in the future depending on the payout structure.  Good luck!
You are not in the default trust list. Therefore, only you can see the positive or negative trust as the trusted feedback. Everyone else sees it as a untrusted feedback which changes nothing overall. So he didn't really see any trusted negative feedbacks.
8237  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game| 0.91% Edge| PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: August 29, 2014, 02:42:26 PM

Thats weird, im using chrome and with that i never had a problem. Im using pd like 14-15 hours a day without refresh...

I think thats because the chat is just extremely buggy, some people are lucky and some aren't

You are one of the lucky ones!  I on the other hand have about 500 refreshes/restarts this week and still cannot use the chat
Try updating your chrome to the latest version by going to chrome://chrome/ and it will automatically check for update.

More info:

expiration date?
issuing bank?

escrow?

Expiration Date: 2017
Issuing Bank: mBank
Just a warning, mbank is known to mass freeze cards. As shown on mateo's thread, everyone had their cards frozen. And I had two cards, one lightly used and one never used which I confirm the one which I have used was blocked. I don't have much inside, only $10 USD but that is still a very big loss. Furthermore, I have lost $50 on the cards itself.

We have our own bank account at this mBank to manage the cards we sell, We can also lock/unlock the cards without loosing the money.
Selling this cards now for almost 2 years, never had any problems with loosing money.

I'm sorry, I'm not saying you are a scammer. However, mateo sold the cards for a little more than a year and had perfect reputation and did not have any problems until recently when someone abused the cards. Mateo have gone MIA, how do you guarantee that you won't run away if any of us reports a problem with the cards.
