8641  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I NEED AN ADULT!!...and advice on: July 20, 2014, 06:16:46 AM
alright folks,

i need advice on a little bit of everything. all i have is NAVcoin and i just dont know what else to do. i have very little money to work with, but im looking to "earn" whatever i make. im a little scrambled with what people say. also, on a side note, how do i rank up?Huh i've been a newbie for a month now. any and all comments are welcome...except negative ones...no one wants to hear that...

My recommendation for you is to keep browsing the forum and posting and looking for work. Once you become a member (60 activity) you can join some signature campaign (like mine) and earn decent BTC through posting. But other than that, enjoy the bitcoin ecosystem. Smiley
i've been getting the hang of writing in forums and stuff so thats good, but what do you mean look for work?
As soon as you become a member (it takes ~2 months) you can join a signature campaign and earn a little bitcoin for posting.
now, is it 30 activity to become a junior member? and are campaigns for junior members or mostly for members and up
AFAIK, there is only one or two campaigns for Jr.member. All of the others are closed. I would recommend you to wait a little longer and become a member. Joining a reputable campaign is much more reliable. In two months or less, you will be a member already.
8642  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: is it profitable to start mining today?? on: July 20, 2014, 06:13:26 AM
Well, the difficulty is suppose to slow down but seems like it never will. So no, it will never be profitable to mine..
The difficulty isn't supposed to slow down actually, bitcoin is gaining a lot of attention from all parts of the world, even if GPU and ASICs mining doesn't exist, people will still mine if they have unused computer and low electrical cost. ASICs are continually being produced therefore more people will mine and the difficulty will rise.

i dont understand what i would sell and i cant get a signature till i rank up. am i supposed to sell my coins? because it would just defeat the purpose of growing if i sell them for less than what i paid
Theymos have placed a restriction on the signature style. The rules are here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=484259.msg5393088#msg5393088

Advertisers would want their signature to be noticed with a link and require more than 100words. There is only one low paying newbies and Jr member signature. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654009.0
8645  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 19, 2014, 03:00:37 PM
Last month he paid total of 28 btc for everybody in campaign Smiley . So its pretty expensive.

For 28 BTC he could have rented 8 of the 10 advertising banners on bitcointalk!  However, only for about a week.  So I guess this is cost effective as long as the users are reasonable.  So thanks for clamping down on spam, bogus posts, and scammers.

And thank you stunna for this campaign.

The disadvantage with banner ads is that they appear only once in a thread, while there are multiple Primedice signature ads in many threads.

And I think that paying users rather than a central entithy for publicity fits quite well with the ideals of cryptocurrencies! That's an awesome thing he's doing for the community.
The disadvantage is that user can choose to disable the option to see other's signature. I doubt much people use that since signature can sometime contain useful informations.

still no payment? how i know if i submitted the form right? besides the last msg of the form(i don't remember now)

in the form it say "final total post coun", is this the total post of that month, or the total post of the user up to date to the last month?
It takes some time for Stunna to review all the submitted entries for the payment. I would give Stunna an additional 24 hours or less. It is the total post count when you claim payment.

Stunna already mentioned in an earlier post that while usually payment is processed within 48hrs, this time it may take an extra day because of the sheer number of participants.
It's all good guys  Wink

But Micro already checked everyone?
So couldn't Stunna already send our money like, now?
He probably have to double check everyone's post again. He also will have to calculate each of our payout and address. It would take some time for him to do so. You can't key in and verify everyone's address and amount within a few hours.

Isn't it automatic getting payout address and post amount now since that form?
If not, what is the point of that form?  Huh
He have to calculate and verify the amount of constructive post. Forms cannot calculate the constructive posts in the forum. The point of the form is most probably so that Stunna don't have to answer that much PMs and go through the thread to individually see the post at enrollment time. Micro do not know or state how many posts were constructive but only an over view.

8648  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about post quality for PRIMEDICE signature campaign. on: July 19, 2014, 10:38:44 AM
Just curious, are you doing this as a community service or is Stunna paying you together post quality?
Great idea, just wondering what's driving it

Nah, im doing it for free to help out so we can get payments faster Cheesy (not that im in a hurry but some of u guys probably are) .

Thanks Micro for the awesome work!

Stunna sent me a huge tip for that so at the end i got paid much more than i shoulda been, but i was doing it for free Smiley .

There are couple of un happy people with my judgement but , ofc that will always happen . If majority of people think i done good work, and Stunna also i will do this for the next time also.
And i will start checking for sig changing scamers right away .

Wow, are you telling me that the 0.2 was a bonus from Stunna? What a generous person he is.

Wow! That is more than I made with posting max amount of post in month!
I want to do this next time! Tongue
Posting 30 hours = 0.16BTC
Checking posts 10 hours = 0.2BTC
Much better hourly rate I must say Smiley

Well he posted that list and asked for help, anybody coulda done it. But nobody did. I took that and done it for free. And it paid off much more than it should .

Anyways its not about money, its that its much better when community is involved in fighting off spamers ,than we would not have cap on posts , and it would benefit us all.
And its better when we have multiple opinions on same topic if somebody have to much spam or not.

Everybody should help and it will be better for us all if we have good quality sig campaign .
Hello, can you reply my PM for my enquiry? Thanks
8649  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: is it profitable to start mining today?? on: July 19, 2014, 08:05:25 AM
its been last 5 days watching over this bitcoin thing and i have some extra cash so i just wanted a suggestion that if i start mining today by buying the hardware would i be in much profit or its just a decent profit??
and i dont have hell of cash its just my pocket money which i would be investing.
so finally is it profitable for a beginner to start mining today?
and i see the difficulty rate increasing like anything day by day..
if yes plez just suggest some hardware which is ecnomic and will pay back in few months.

Mining is not making profit these days, you won't ROI your hardware because of difficulty.
It depends on how much you pay for your electricity and how much you pay for your hardware and how much you can sell the machine for when you are done using it to mine. If you keep your costs low enough then you will ROI. If you overpay then you will not.
You should consider if the difficulty increases too much, the ASICs breaks down and the sudden surge in difficulty. I doubt you would even be able to sell it at half of the price. You can easily lose your investment.
8650  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ecological problem on: July 19, 2014, 08:02:10 AM
Alternate ways like proof of stake can reduce the environmental impact. Still efficient ASICs are developed which requires less power consumption while having a higher hashrates. Most of those CPU and GPU and old ASICs aren't suitable for mining any longer.
8651  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: any way to get a couple mBTC for free? on: July 19, 2014, 07:57:14 AM
Faucets is the easiest way to get some mBTC free...

Not really...It will take you at least days (if not weeks) to get just 1mbtc ($0.63) from faucets.
My previous record was one week to get 1mbtc. The faucet pays a lot lower now so it should take a lot more time. There isn't much of paying faucets soon, they pay 100 to1000 in An hour or more between each claims.

Did you portforward? Try replacing the index on var/www with that code you have entered. Then restart apache server. Have you installed bitcoin RPC? Follow this tutorial. http://pastebin.com/qbmSNhWK
8656  Other / Meta / Re: trust ratings on: July 19, 2014, 06:41:27 AM
Most of the people on default trust list would not spam negative comments. Those who are not on it will have their negative feedback hidden by default unless you place them in your default trust list. A escrow would solve all the problem you listed since the escrow can hold the funds for one or both of the party.
8657  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ask on: July 19, 2014, 06:32:23 AM
Bitcoin is a decentralised payment system which allows people to send bitcoins to other people without going through banks. Great for people who want anonymity. 25 bitcoins are mined averaging every 10minutes. You can exchange BTC for fiat. Basically a payment system.
8658  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I NEED AN ADULT!!...and advice on: July 19, 2014, 06:29:54 AM
Activity increases every two active weeks by 14. Notice the active, you must post at least once every two weeks. Once you reach 70 activity, you are a member. By then, you can already join signature campaigns and earn bitcoins. Try to learn somethings on the time to become a member.
8659  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: any way to get a couple mBTC for free? on: July 19, 2014, 05:27:56 AM
If you are a member, you can earn mbtc from signature campaigns very easily. Faucets are really a waste of time. Look around service forums and see if you can offer anyone a service in exchange for a few mbtc.

signature campaign is not the answer since the OP wants to get some millibitcoins within only a couple hours (2-5 hours). Of course you can earn from sig campaign but it would take week or month to get paid, not in hours
Some campaigns let you to have payments upfront. However, OP must be at least member status. There's no way to get them in a couple of hours. Even buying bitcoins can take days, depending on verifications. It isn't possible to get them in hours, unless you could offer a service at the service forum.
8660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How safe is an Encrypted Bitcoin core wallet with a strong password? on: July 19, 2014, 02:46:28 AM
i mean encrypting wallet with a very strong password and doing this in a freshly installed windows pc.

That will take care of keyloggers right!

Now tell me how safe is such an encrypted wallet
[...]
A fresh Windows will most likely be not fully updated, but unless you use something old (e.g. WinXP without Service packs) you should be fine. Its also unlikely that you "just get a keylogger" as long as you are carefull. Carefull as in: dont download something from shady sources, dont download any new alt coin wallet just because, etc. pp.
more importantly, make sure your operating system install disk is clean. if you're downloading pirated windows, make sure you check the .iso's checksum against the ones published by microsoft.

Yeah my friend has original win 8 , we are planning to fresh install, update it, then install firefox and bitcoin core, then transfer all coins and encrypt with a very strong password.

Now is it safe?
Not much, Windows is known to have a lot of vulnerabilities, since you are exposed to the internet, you might get a malware. Installing Linux on an offline computer would be significantly safer.
