Run bitcoin-qt fulltime and help support the network

I cant do this cos it eats all of my ram  Embarrassed
Maybe it's verifying blocks or you have too much connections. Mine uses most of the CPU.

Just curious, how many connections do you have (I assume you have forwarded ports to allow incoming connections)?
My ram is pretty much used up when the blocks finished syncing, however, when you are syncing, the CPU usage would be higher. I have set mine to 40 and is quite stable, have not yet to rise the limit. 1GB is enough for a bitcoin core.
8682  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poll : do you trust an exchange to hold your bitcoins ? on: July 16, 2014, 01:27:18 PM
I don't trust exchanges anymore.

Exchange is important part of the bitcoin ecology system. If exchange has no trust, then bitcoin has no trust.
Exchange shouldn't have 0 trust. They should also not have enough trust to hold a lot of bitcoins. Probably only for use immediately would be good.

8684  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to boost activity on: July 16, 2014, 11:44:45 AM
Hello,

would like to ask how to boost activity?

I make a post but my activity is stuck at 84

I stay a lot time online but I see that others members have like on example 95 post and 95 activity.

Thank you
Since you will get 14 points every 2 weeks, you can post 7 times a day in one week. Staying online does not contribute to your activity points.

8686  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GPU Mining. on: July 16, 2014, 11:40:56 AM
i think mining for average joes like us is only useful for a very very limited time when a coin launches, after that its pretty much game over.
The coin can be a pump and dump. You must have a huge community for the coin to be stable, you can't tell if it will even hit the exchange within that limited time.

Yes but the exchanges can be made by the persons who made the coin although it will take some time.

Kindly,
        MZ
I don't think people would trust the operator much. He can just run away with the coins and the trade volumes won't be very high.

8688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: July 16, 2014, 11:12:58 AM
It is very small amount of BTC. So i think if anyone wants to be a professional trader in this market signature space is not a good option.
Not really small. If you can post like 100 posts per month, 0.0004 per post, as a member, you would be spending your time we'll, considering you have a decent job.
8689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction Fee question on: July 16, 2014, 11:09:55 AM
is it right if i want to send big amount like 1 BTC, i can't leave transaction fee to 0?
and the network will confirm it?
If you leave it to get old enough, your outputs must not be dust and your inputs must also not be dusts. The transaction size also matter other than the age.

Stunna will you be switching to weekly or biweekly payments in the future?
I don't see much reason offering weekly or biweekly payments. Most of Stunna's competitors are either closed or not reputable. stunna is quite reputable so most people wouldn't mind with the month posts.
8691  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.03 Loan on: July 16, 2014, 10:51:56 AM
I have given him a loan twice, got repayment for both. Although, I do think it's rather odd to ask for loans so often, and sig campaigns don't pay out that often so it makes we wonder how he repays so quick.
Stunna's signature payment is due on 17 July, which is on Friday. I usually try to buy bitcoins for some of the repayment. And I don't think I would request a loan for a very long time since I'm now in Stunna's campaign.

Feel free to ask theymos to check our IPs and feel free to check every single of our post. I am not going to say that I have done it behind closed doors. Honestly, who would even get a 16 post account to fulfill a loan. It doesn't have much logic.
8693  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Generator? on: July 15, 2014, 02:44:11 PM
Has anybody got scammed by this?
I'm pretty sure there are some very new newbies who don't have a good knowledge of bitcoins and good security got scammed by this.
8694  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [PrimeDice] Track Your Earnings! on: July 15, 2014, 02:42:57 PM
I made a site that shows statistics of one of the most popular signature promotions: PrimeDice.
It shows your balance, the profit per day, your rank, your activity etc.

The url is http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=207962
Change uid to your uid.

Some examples:
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=334898  (ranochigo)
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=53737   (DubFx)
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=224248  (MICRO)
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=325115  (Candystripes)

The chart takes a moment to load, wait ~ 5 seconds.

What do you think about this little project? Any requests?

p.s. I'm not affiliated or even a participant with PrimeDice, it's purely a hobby project.

Nice page  Cheesy. However, the post count seems to be stuck at 260. Maybe you should fix that?

8696  Economy / Goods / Re: Anonymous reloadable prepaid plastic VISA ATM cards with own IBAN on: July 15, 2014, 11:26:13 AM
I got my visa prepaid  mb usa card from mateo yesterday. Does anyone know for the first time loading the card if I can use moneygram or western union? I would also like to know if I can change the pin# and if yes how does that work?
You cannot change your pin, it is fixed. Also, you must load the card by IBAN, you should be able to use them to load the card.
8697  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: July 15, 2014, 11:17:04 AM
Yes you do get paid, it's not much but it's something, and I spend most of my time posting here anyway so might as well get some bitpeanuts Smiley
You can't spam with single words and shit tho.

BTW; is online time relevant to your rank, or only post count?
No, people can use scripts and pump their online time. Your rank is based on your activity which rises every two weeks. People may not be that active so that it cannot be relevant to their post counts.
I thought activity was based on your posts and time online?
No, activity limit is increased by 14 post per two active week. If you do not login or post in his forum for 13 days and be online and post 14 post on the 14th day, you will still get additional 14 activity, whether you are active or not.
8698  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 15, 2014, 10:58:29 AM
*snip* I still dont know how member status works tho, like what constitutes a hero member, senior etc, because i've seen people with less post count than me that are hero.

Member "Activity" increases up to 14 every fourteen days in relation to posts made. IE., As long as you make 14 posts or more during every 14 day period, your activity level will increase by 14 - More posts during the 14 day period will not get you more "Activity", but if you only post 12 times during the 14 day period, your "Activity will only increase by 12.

Member status levels (unless something has changed):

Newbie:          (none)
Jr. Member:     Activity: 30
Member:         Activity: 60
Full Member:    Activity: 120
Sr. Member:    Activity: 240
Hero Member:  Activity: 480

On a side note - I am seriously considering this campaign, and have been following the thread for about 2 mos. now, just waiting for my current sig to mature.

Thanks, this should be clearly explained in the help section or something as it is asked all the time.
Is your online time relevant at all?
Useless for it to be pinned anywhere. Everyone do not do research and straightaway ask questions. Online time is just a measurment of how much time u spent in the forum.

I like multibit. It isn't necessary for you to sync blockchain constantly unless you want to use the full features. Not really needed unless you are a developer.
