-snip-

So regular members don't post the release date to our signature?
I don't think there is enough space to do so, if Stunna wants it, he would have to reduce the font size to very small. And yay, it is coming on 9th August, Singapore's national day. Easy day to remember Tongue
8442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Project : My first Bitcoin !!! on: August 02, 2014, 05:14:21 AM
I strongly discourage you from using faucets, they either pay very low or doesn't even pay. If you really want to earn even a BTC, spend some time posting on this forum and learning more then join a signature campaign when you reach a member status. ROI for cloudmining is impossible so don't try your luck on it.

http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/view.php?uid=152939

Can confirm, although it takes like 5 seconds to load lol. I'm guessing this will be much better once a better host is used.

Caching should be used, which is possible if someone downloads and updates the dataset regulary. This could be done automatically using a script, and simply by collection all of the JSON data for each member. I simply don't have enough rights on the server.

Now all of the algorithm runs straight, but if cached would take only 1 second  Smiley
Caching is not as accurate as live data, it takes a few minutes between each cache. They cannot cache everyone's info into their server. It would take the server to load everyone's stats, occupying unnecessary space if the user never use them.
8444  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 02, 2014, 05:02:33 AM
Stunna does not need to increase his payment, because he is the longest and the most trusted campaign to date.
For some people, this is the case. However, some campaigns uses escrow to ensure that they will pay while offering higher pays. This should either equate to Stunna's trust or at least make them a bit trusted. But mostly, they would stop it after a month or two.
8445  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ 777Coin Signature & Personal MSG Campaign ★☆★ Newb,jr,mem Ref Bonus 10%! on: August 02, 2014, 05:00:29 AM
Yes he is very busy and giving bonus to members is hobby I like his 777coin giveaway and have many big amounts just because of this

You are not in the 777 campaign, and no sr member have ever joined, how could you have many big amount like you said ? Was your post above only to boost your post count ?
Read again, he probably participated in a daily 777 giveaway campaign which give each user which have over some amount of activity to claim 0.0001 to their 777 account. He probably participated this way to gain BTC.

are primepoints coming back?

Primepoints?
I remember prime dice being around for a while but not sure what those were.
This was first implemented in PD1(The first version of PD) however, I think it was removed on PD2. It uses calculation methods to determine the active bettors by number of bets and wagered amount. I don't think users were able to spent them in PD1 however.
8447  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 02, 2014, 04:53:08 AM
One more thing: [Highest Paid Signature] nuh-uh Stunna you ain't the highest paying anymore.
Would be awesome if Stunna raised the payment per post.

He really should, but we all know he won't. Especially with new campaigns rising, PD is losing alot of members.
Still, people could see that this signature campaigns would be here to stay. There are users who aren't attracted by the pays but the reliability. I agree Stunna should change the title as it is misleading but he should observe if the higher campaigns is going to continue for a longer period of time or not in order to decide whether to rise the rates.
8448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: earning on: August 02, 2014, 04:49:22 AM
faucets or go to "services" forum and sell your signature space
If you want to sell your signature space you have to be atleast member so you have to be more active for that.
You can sell or join a signature campaign when you are a newbie. Most people would pay very very low price for that since it is not noticeable. Most signature campaigns allows only member and above to join is because they have more fanciful stylings and have more potential to attract users.
8449  Other / Meta / Re: Help newbie on: August 01, 2014, 12:40:59 PM
You would probably need two active weeks after you post your first post to get to 15 activity. This reduces spammers by limiting their post limit for a period of time. Without this, the forum would be full if spammers.
8450  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cryptsy did not add money to account after transfer on: August 01, 2014, 11:31:19 AM
Man that really is ridiculous at this stage.

Their support service is slow and unsatisfactory, but at the same time OP hasn't read the "Do NOT mine directly to your Cryptsy deposit address." warning before mining...
It indeed isn't their fault. However, they should either get the private key and move it manually or respond to his ticket at the very least. They should have the private key and able to transfer it to their own wallet and manually credit the account.
8451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin Mining Hardware Investment on: August 01, 2014, 11:27:52 AM
Yeah man, the thing is people don't seem to understand that even if their machines are new and all poweful for gaming purposes. They are all-purpose machines. If you build a dedicated machine that can only do one thing and optimize it on doing that (an ASIC) it's like 100x as effective (not exaggerating!!)

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Actually what he said is correctly - although lack it might be lacking a little grammatical correctness  Tongue

ASICs (the dedicated machines he was referring to) are 100 to 1000x more efficient than GPUs and certainly more so than CPUs.  What part did you not understand?

For comparison of efficiency, you can check the bitcoin wiki https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison.
You can find a number of new generation ASICs with "Mhash/J" at over 1000 while the best GPU can only do slightly better than 2.
So, the 100x figure is an understatement. Smiley
Space would also be an factor to concern about. An ASIC is much much smaller than a computer whereas ASIC requires less space with higher speeds. If you have less space, ASIC would obviously be your choice here.
8452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap Android Phone as cold storage? on: August 01, 2014, 11:22:47 AM
You can extract the private key and create and sign a raw transaction then broadcast it. The format would most likely still be accepted by the community. It is a good idea to stay in touch within the bitcoin community for updates.

Roll Eyes have you try this since this year (april 2014) ... ? many have evolved (smartphone backup wallet) with this IMPOSSIBILTY to restore.

that's why i have migrate from smartphone cold storage to bitcoin core cold storage ... file.
Myceilum uses paper wallet technology, which will most likely still be supported after years. Bitcoin wallet uses wallet.dat which would very likely still be supported for years. You should be moving those BTC around every few years. Also, you should also stay in touch with the community, You would most likely still be able to get those BTC as there would still be supported software's to do so.

Count me in!
Postcount 182
1FWfTagML8nw6nBbPdGDKnmh7Ku1UkwpGF

Maybe you can confirm my enrollment?

And now i have to post 50 posts till the 17. of august to achieve a first payment right?
Correct, most of us post it only for reference for how much post did we start with. Enrollment is confirmed immediately once youfilled it up correctly. You should check it after a week or two to check if Stunna updated the enrollment list.
8454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: August 01, 2014, 09:40:35 AM
A lot of people agree that it needs to be on topic and adding to discussion to be considered constructive I often have to reduce non constructive posts of mine from the total.

So you're counting your posts for Primedice? They don't do it for you?

IIRC, Stunna (owner of PD) mentioned that participants should count the number of constructive posts and enter it, or Stunna will do it for you. Smiley

Old version of the PD campaign thread: https://bitcointa.lk/?topic=291387.0

3. On the 17th if you've reached the minimum requirement of 50 posts, send me a PM letting me know how many constructive posts you made, please deduct any non-constructive posts from this number, otherwise I will have to do so myself.
He probably removed it, if not everyone would just submit their username for counting. Since the campaign have over 100++ participants, he can't count all of them. It is better to count the post as it lessen the burden for Stunna.
8455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: August 01, 2014, 09:38:35 AM
trust me you need to post a grip to get any btc around on this forum.

And thats if those posts are approved, which most dont go through since its counted as spam.

That's true most have to be constructive. which is very hard to meet the minimum amount for that month. It's only a little bit of Bitcoin but anything is better than nothing really.

So is there an easy to know threshold of what's considered spam vs. constructive? Would this question/post be considered spam even though I'm asking a genuine question?

There is nothing set in stone. Most campaign managers reserve the right to make their own decisions regarding this, so when in doubt, do not pad your post count. Some are explicit; my campaign, for instance, urges members to make 3+ sentences per post to be considered constructive.

A lot of people agree that it needs to be on topic and adding to discussion to be considered constructive I often have to reduce non constructive posts of mine from the total.

So you're counting your posts for Primedice? They don't do it for you?

I'm awaiting my first payment from 777 and still new to how the tracking of the post counts work. For example, I had 100 posts in the first week but wasn't clear on when the count rolls over again.
Yup, Stunna cannot possibly count 100++ participants worth of post within a few days. By the user counting it, Stunna can just quickly look through the post and count non constructive post and he can check if the report of constructive post is the same as the actual one.

With what you probley paid for the alienware laptop don't use it for 24x7 mining.  Use cheap desktop/raspberry pi.

With just running cgminer it sounds like it's not a lot on stress but still no reason to do it on decent laptop.

I agree.  Use a desktop or a pi for running those.  No sense in using a laptop to use as a miner in any regard.
Buying a raspberry pi would probably add a burden on your attempt to ROI. It may have compatibility issues with some device, even though less likely. You may face some difficulty using a Linux OS and can have a harder time to troubleshoot your devices.

hi

i have 3 question.... Tongue

1) i have some bit-coin hold it or sell worried about crush  Undecided

2) its very important me to know how i can mine bit-coin ? i have one pc & a laptop what should i need to mine? how many cost in $ ? how many can i earn from a week.?

3) Mine or invest ? Pb mining or somewhere else ?

waiting for your answer ..... Wink

1 ) keep your bitcoins and watch them to go up or just to some trades with altcoins..Smiley
2 ) if you have a pc or laptop you cannot be able to mine btc yes you can mine altcoins and exchange them in bitcoins for alt coins you need atleast a good gpu for mining about of 200 dollars atleaset.
3 ) i will say you to invest in pbmining you can buy much ghs at cheap rates some ppl say its a fake site scam but its not..and if you want an account i have a account if you want to buy let me know

and if you want to bet your bitcoins go to luckyb.it and bet coins and win easily..Smiley
2) The best GPU isn't even likely to hit $200 profit. The difficulty would increase at a fast rate.
3) cloudmining does have a risk, I don't think it is logical to buy something with huge risk. Until now, I can't find a proof of their mining hardwares and they can runaway anytime.
8458  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please tell me if my computer will be ok for mining or not on: August 01, 2014, 09:20:11 AM
You could mine some alt coins.
Please research about the computer, the GPU does not have opencl support. Furthermore, it should be very very old so the performance should be degraded too. The CPU is far to slow to think about CPU mining in alt coins.

I recently bought 3 GawMiners Fury and I was wondering if my laptop that I bought a month back is able to on 24/7 and if it is possible to optimize the furys to its fullest?
My laptop is Alienware 17.
You could check out this guide. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=644921.0
Overclocking will increase your temperature, It can over heat, you would need time to tune it, it should be different for every single machine. Your warranty might be void. Basically, it might shorten the machine's lifespan.
8460  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin Mining Hardware Investment on: July 31, 2014, 02:40:53 PM
Hey Everyone!

Total newbie here.  I've been checking out the forums and I still have a few questions.  I've read that bitcoin/litecoin mining on laptops is a completely stupid move.  That being said, if I invested in some bitcoin or litecoin mining hardware & ran it on my laptop would it still destroy my computer?  If so, why?  Does it have to do with how much power my laptop can generate or its basic internal graphics card?

Likewise, would it be wiser to invest in litecoin mining hardware considering that I am getting into the Bitcoin market so late?  (not that I'm diving into the Litecoin market at any better time)

Thanks!
You are probably already too late for mining. Bitcoin mining is very very unlikely to ROI, but possible depending on electrical fees, lifespan, difficulty increase. For litecoin or scrypt, some of those are pre-order scams which does not deliver. The price can drop very very fast, resulting in you wasting your time trying to mine that coin. It usually isn't as stable as bitcoin.
