782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Physical Litecoins by the Litecoin Foundation on: July 26, 2013, 02:04:23 PM
Hi All,

I have been a long time supporter of physical crypto and I am a strong supporter of Mike Caldwell's (Casascius) physical Bitcoins. I hold a significant amount and own at least one of every coin he has made. I think his efforts have done well for BTC and we would like to do the same for LTC. Since we are pretty much going to be copying his work, I just wanted to give credit to where it was due.

In order to promote LTC I and a few other key LTC supporters feel that an affordable physical Litecoin should be available to the community. We will be doing this project at cost, it will not be for profit. That means you will be able to get the lowest priced physical LTC that can be made.

For example we expect to be able to make the base 1 oz silver coins with the holograms for less than $35. Our goal will be $30 or less. This means the base silver coin and hologram will cost the buyer only 13 LTC or less, plus the face value of the coin.

We will be minting 1/10th, ½, and 1oz .999 fine silver rounds with different denominations. We will also be selling an especially low cost item with no metal (think credit card) for the absolute lowest cost physical LTC. This will be made in the range of 1 to 1000 LTC for the easiest and cheapest way to transport LTC physically.

We have the funding and we have our suppliers set up, all we need from the community is for you to tell us exactly what you want. We think we have a pretty good idea but if we can improve on anything Mike has done please let us know.

Also are you an artist? Want to design a coin or card? Please contact me A.S.A.P.

We are not taking preorders, you can not reserve orders at this time, and we expect to be shipping in 2 to 3 months. We will only be accepting LTC as payment. Also prices are subject to change and will match our real costs.

Thank you all for your support.

I want to ask you publicly about your pricing policy. Will the price of the coins every be "discounted"? Will we in 2 weeks or maybe 6 months be able to buy the coins for 30 % off sale?

And if you say you will not lower them, what currency will you use as your base price. I see you have adjusted the price up, but I want to know if it will ever be lowered.

This is not trolling or an attack, I just want to know what your policy is.

Prices based in USD will not be lowered for the foreseeable future.

So when you said you would not lower them in PM that was a lie. That is what I thought.

Thank buddy.

I will not be lowering prices.

786  Economy / Auctions / Re: HOUSE IN GERMANY FOR 1BTC NO RESERVE. on: July 25, 2013, 10:02:21 AM
for the first house he would not post the address. someone else found it later and posted the address.
anyone bidding there would have been plain fool, in that case.

like I said, he did not get many bids.

 xEnergyLabs Gen4 ASIC System
Submitted by xEnergyLabs Team on Thu, 07/25/2013 - 04:57

xEnergyLabs Gen4 ASIC systems has been working tirelessly to reverse engineer current ASIC technologies. Without getting into an in-depth theoretical possibility of what is out currently and what our ASIC systems are capable of; be sure they will be affordable, scalable and easy to upgrade with minimal expense.

Of course our systems will have a price tag attached to them competitively compared to other comparable models from other competitors, we are reaching a level of dedication to achieve nothing less than to leave other manufacturers behind in technology.
788  Economy / Auctions / Re: HOUSE IN GERMANY FOR 1BTC NO RESERVE. on: July 25, 2013, 09:25:32 AM

Which auction was that?

I think it got archived into invisibility.

Basically what happened was that OP tried to pawn off another rotting deathtrap in the middle of nowhere. Which went pretty well until someone (ninjasmiley.gif) found the plot on a real estate site which showed the real state of the "house" and its status as being "only fit for deconstruction".

Still the land has value.  Any sane buyer would research it like hell, or even visit.

for the first house he would not post the address. someone else found it later and posted the address. he never even showed he had the rights to sell that house. i have no evidence to support this but i suspect in the first auction he was really going to just pass this house as the one he had in the photos. just a guess. i did not have the best of luck with him trying to get info.

Oh?
Did it happen here?
Why?
I always assumed post would not disappear with time, or the whole forum would be pointless...

I think that thread can still be found. Post here don't disappear.
790  Economy / Auctions / Re: HOUSE IN GERMANY FOR 1BTC NO RESERVE. on: July 25, 2013, 05:03:17 AM
OP was trying to do something very complicated without understanding how BTC work or the culture of this forum.

Also his "house" is not exactly worth anything.
This is true, he definitely should have said "building" instead, house is misleading to say the least.

That fact alone would be enough to invalidate the auction, if I made the rules, but...

I'm sure most people realized after the fact they were going to have to pay more in fees than the "house" was really worth.
...this is no excuse.

It was patently obvious there would have been fees involved, and despite the wrong wording it was clear anyway that it was an inhabitable building... it they bit without thinking, they are more guilty than the OP.

I agree, it is not an excuse. But people are people.

Also OP sold a different house with no reserve in a different auction and then voided the auction cuz he did not get the amount he wanted so really I don't feel too sorry for this chap.

where can you buy silver in thailand?

This question surprises me. I though you lived there? Where are you buying your silver? Are you bringing it into Thailand?

Mostly in the usa. Lots of different people i trust to hold onto it.

I hold my gold here.
796  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 50 direct ASICMINER shares (Starting bid is only 4.50 BTC!) on: July 22, 2013, 05:50:16 AM
I would bet upper.
You are right about the time horizon: direct shares are not for day traders.
But I don't think that there is anything better to invest BTC in for the medium to long term

Then why sell?   Grin

because I need some cash soon.
But as you can see these are only 20% of my ASICMINER shares

I was just kidding. And yeah, well all need that cash Sad

edit: aslo with the auction lasting a week the bids will not be flying in.... as who really knows where things stand in 7 days + transfer time

I would bet upper.

I am withdrawing my bid.

Can you do that?

Also why?
