781  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Bitcoin Advice for newbies on: February 17, 2023, 02:58:20 PM
1: You can see that from the
experience of those who stored their Bitcoin on
exchanges such as FTX and the rest of the other crashed
    exchanges.
The first rule of investment also says invest in those assets of which you have knowledge about or if not gain knowledge for them and then invest your money into it.Those people who ignore it invest in hope to earn some quick profits but when it's not happening they start panicking calling it scam or ponzi selling their coins which is a mistake.

Secondly the biggest issue is keeping your funds on these CEX who are in actual possession of your keys through which they can easily spend your funds so you are not owning any bitcoins if they are on CEX so take it out and store them on hardware wallets or non custodial wallets like Electrum with safety of your seed phrases.Learn more about wallets here

3:  Dont hold alternative cryptocurrencies for the long term
and if you must own them just know you are just
gambling with your money, because they can go
from100 to 0, so altcoin is worthless for the long term.
On the contrary I would say if you are newbie then investing in shitcoins is the biggest mistake you will make in hope of diversifying your portfolio because bitcoin is the only best option for you while those altcoins are pump dump scheme to make profits for the whales only. You can check on CMC how top-10 have changed instead of bitcoin which remains always at the top.The main reason behind it there's no utility for these altcoins so no long term price surge but if you can trade it short term you can give it a shot but as newbie stay away from it.
782  Other / Meta / Re: How to send merit? on: February 17, 2023, 02:46:26 PM
You have already been told how you can send merits and you can send to those posts you find useful or say deserving one's.But you can only send half the merits you have earned which means if you have 4 earned merits you will receive 2 smerits which you can give to others. But there is exceptional case of merit source who can send more of what they earn to distribute merits on the forum as they are appointed by @theymos.

Here is the full process. I hope it will be useful to you
You should also resize the images you post as these are too big and not advisable to post in such a manner. You can simply do the following for image readjustment in your posts :

783  Other / Archival / Re: [Merit] Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank on: February 16, 2023, 03:11:34 PM
Hello mate good day I don't think so if Ratimov will consider your application as we can see that you have only 229 merits and the requirements itself are you just have 230 merits anyways only 1 merit left to be eligible so maybe OP will consider and accept your application and reach your senior member rank soon as possible if ratimov will review your post history. For now you will want for that and keep up the good work mate.
Now he is coming in the list mentioned in the @Op with 230 merits range as helped him with additional one merit remaining but even if I haven't send him he has full chance that his posts would be considered by @Ratimov so hope see him in senior rank soon.

We should always be helpful towards members who are actually contributing to the forum with their effective posting and active discussion part.

It's best to ignore such trolls completely instead of providing them unnecessary attention in my opinion.
They will always be there so yes I aslo agree that best part is to ignore them fully without giving them any attention as they want to spread rumours through bad talking trying to convince people but when they fail at it they drop the idea so give them what they don't expect just silence.
785  Other / Meta / Re: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 29/11/2022 on: February 16, 2023, 02:34:56 PM
So here is one more merit record and this is best at this time on forum which I was lucky to save timely here and it's for @o_e_l_e_o who has achieved one more Target on forum with 14000 merits on his profile so big congratulations to him on this milestone

So it is big achievement and he is currently also the one with most earned merits on the forum as he was airdropped with 100 merits only at the time of merit system implementation so he has came a long way opening up new thrones for others.

Also beaten flash @Ratimov or any other person to save this huge merit record this time Wink
786  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to trade your Bitcoin on: February 16, 2023, 02:18:51 PM
A safe place to keep your bitcoins.  You can use a hardware wallet.
Are you calling CEX safe place to store your coins or hardware wallets? The thing is you can invest money through these exchanges into bitcoin like Binance but you have to undergo lot of KYC procedures which ends up your privacy but worse is if you still keep your coins over these exchanges as they will posses the keys to your coins so better be prepared to lose them anytime. If hardware wallets are expensive for you then non custodial wallets like Electrum are best alternative for storing your bitcoins safely.

I understand that they may think they did nothing wrong, because it is not as clear as pointing a gun at someone, but they need to read the rules a lot more clearly before they gamble, so that they would know if they did something wrong or not. I have seen people who had multiple accounts who got banned and honestly didn't know that was wrong, that's funny to me because I read all the rules any casino I play in presents to make sure I never break any of them.
If you haven't noticed the rule of any casino and you break it by mistake or unintentionally also you can't blame them for it but sometimes there are some players who can't afford their loss while wagering and turn to accuse casino for it but it won't help them.

All popular browsers have great security systems, but none of them can protect you if you don't secure your accounts properly as you mentioned yourself.
The security of your account is in your hands in the first end and most people ignore these things which is why your security is compromised. The systems are secure but only if you manage them and use them effectively otherwise it's no fun.

The mother's may likely not understand cryptocurrency on a wide but we explains to them to be some form of online trading business, which most are eager for me to teach their children to learn from it.
You can arrange a small demo class for them to tell them about bitcoin works if you have sufficient knowledge about it to teach them and if possible set up them a wallet also as it will help them to learn a lot about it.The basics need to be taught to them without going into too much technical details but in this manner they will also be familiar with bitcoin and if you have any doubt we are here to help you with it always.

Actually $20 is small amount when is converted in my country currency values but due the poor living standard, giving $20 to any in our currency is like $1000 in US currency. Here people any little out of kindness because it extends smiles and happiness to them.
Still giving them $20 is good intiative as it will help them to cover some little expenses also and I assume it will be of great help to people living there. The amount when converted to your local currency would also be sufficient for them but main priority is happiness on their face we are seeing which is precious. So really appreciate your gesture of this helpful and spreading love this way.
790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed on: February 15, 2023, 03:39:41 PM
My latest selection of posts for your evaluation. I sincerely hope that among them there are sensible posts, but if not, you can always look for them in the history of my posts.  Wink
Thanks for your time.
See I know you have submitted posts for evaluation here but if you don't get merits for them we can't say him to go through our post history to check for posts that deserve merits as it's more time consuming task so submit the best post here. Moreover add the Round you are applying for post evaluation for clarity and following the rules mentioned in @OP.

Noticed several users not following this rule or is it possible this rule was disbanded @fillippone Huh
I don't think there is any change in the rules as if there was any he might have mentioned it but considering his current schedule he is busy in some other works so changing rules to submit each week is not gonna happen according to me.The user is submitting fast which is not right so you all must abide the rules of this thread otherwise you won't get merits from him.
791  Other / Meta / Re: A question about the source link in other people's texts on: February 14, 2023, 03:08:49 PM
I would also say that it's not violation of the rule but we should not encourage this method and cite the source in right manner like in quote if you are copying the text from external source and embed the link of article in url tags which is much better.

As pointed out by @LoyceV you can use
Quote
options if you want to link some posts of users on the forum which is good way but hovering over it won't help to recognise the source to many and mobile devices so avoid it and do it in simple manner.

We are always learning no matter how long we have to forum.   Wink
Right we always learn something new and sometimes even remember the old stuff we have missed from long time with such helpful posts so learning is always a moving and continuous process.
792  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: February 14, 2023, 02:53:05 PM
If you guys want to have a clean browsing experience without seeing any shitty ads, use firefox with ublock origin extension installed. That's the least you can do to improve your searching experience while also avoiding the risk of clicking ads.

As for the official twitter page of Roobet, you can just manually browse their signature or announcement thread. It maybe a cumbersome process to do, but it's the safest route in your arsenal to avoid fake accounts.

You can't just make Google give you a better browsing experience though and that sucks!
If you are searching on Google without ad blockers you will be directed to lot of such scam promotionals ads targeting users on their site as they pay to be on top results so it's not a better idea.Yes using Firefox is also good idea if you configure it properly as going over Tor have some speed issues but still one of the best options I would say.
793  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: February 14, 2023, 02:42:37 PM
Lucky block, this happens to be one of the top casino and I think has the more available games to play. It may not be listed on binance for trade of for service but it's known for its volatility in price.
What are you talking about when you are promoting a scam casino yourself? See I don't want to make such post but if you are making any post give clarity about what you want to say and stay on the Rollbit discussion only in this thread.Which coin you are talking about not listed on Binance $RLB?
794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid altcoins and shitcoins because they cannot be stored personally. on: February 14, 2023, 02:29:03 PM
It is not about decentralized and centralized exchanges but about decentralized network and centralized network. Bitcoin has a best decentralized network and altcoins have worse networks for decentralization. Their networks are very centralized from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake algorithms, all are centralized.
I would say bitcoin is the only one crypto which is actually decentralised in every manner while the so called shitcoins have centralised control like the whales holding major supply of coins in the wallets or burning the supply to make them rich. The whole concept of decentralisation was copied from bitcoin but in reality they never implemented it any coin but for bitcoin nobody have any single point of authority and everything is by consensus.

Then if we say about centralised exchange then it's the worse case if you are using these CEX for storing your coins and not learning from the past experiences also because not your keys not your coins.

When it comes to any cryptocurrency what people should always check out is their utilities which is why we keep telling others to avoid altcoins because they simply don't have any utilities in the real world. Majority of them are created to only be pumped and dumped, a lot of them are created trying to pursue a flawed idea (like a smart contract platform) that fail because it couldn't be implemented correctly and a lot more.
Exactly people get attracted with the lucrative offers they see from the project owners or when prices for these coins are rising without even thinking what's the utility that's deriving the prices high for them.In reality they don't have any use case even if we take example of meme coins like Doge so what's the actual utility you see in it when the actual inventor already dumped the project back in time? It was just created for fun but people see prices rising under Musk influence they blindly jump into investment so what's the profit ratio for them now? They are pump with fake volumes so whales who holds the major supply can cash out profits from your pockets and in end they dump it over you so better stay away from them.If you see bitcoin has lost significant part of its value in the past but still stands strong in comparison and that's mainly due to utility it has so understanding this can help you a lot.
795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Arguments for Bitcoin against UPI? on: February 14, 2023, 02:17:40 PM

To pay anyone with fiat electronic, you first need a bank account of some description, which usually means visiting a bank in person and taking a bunch of personal documents along with you, or scanning in a bunch of personal documents and sending them off to the bank. Then you'll have to wait a number of days for it all to be approved. Then you'll have to deposit some fiat, which again will take a number of days to clear. Maybe you then need to open a credit card account on top of that bank account, or similar. More KYC and more delays. With bitcoin, you can open a wallet and load it with coins in the comfort of your own home without risking any of your personal information in 10-20 minutes.
Moreover the bank accounts doesn't open easily as for this you are required to have all the mandatory documents like the address proof and your birth proof also for which you have to submit various documents which is indeed the KYC these banks do in order to have more tight control over you and you are having zero privacy but still talking about convenience? The main problem at this time is people are not using bitcoin as payment currency but more of a investment tool to earn profits in long run and we are seeing less people using it.Although we have layer 2 options like LN in bitcoin with increased btc capacity over time but still many uses other sources to pay but there are also less merchants accepting it But I am also of the view that if you use bitcoin it will be much useful with full control over your funds and it's far better then fiat mode of payments.
796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Arguments for Bitcoin against UPI? on: February 13, 2023, 05:48:57 PM
And if your fiat currency collapses? What use is getting your money back from the government if it is only worth 1% of what it was worth when you deposited it? There are many many examples of fiat currencies rapidly devaluing so as to be almost worthless. There are plenty of such examples going on around the world right now.
Almost all currencies around the globe have lost significant value over these years even if we speak about the top economies also like $ and € also because they are not counter to inflation but bitcoin is deflationary in nature.Your fiat currency can collapse anytime with growing inflation and government printing more money out of thin air making the existing one worthless. As he said government will give you back money if anything happens to bank but that's the case with government banks not the private one's but also they will return say about certain amount if anything happens to bank and people don't realise what they will do for the fiat when it will be worthless?

As we have seen in countries like Vietnam does your fiat can buy you anything good? When people are throwing away these notes as million dollars don't get your toilet rolls also so are your funds in bank safe? So we need to realise this fact as soon as possible and move to coins like bitcoin for our future security if we care to look it at and fiat is not going to save you.

Fiat is printed at will by centralized governments to pay their own debts and stealth tax their citizens. I don't trust it at all.
These things people don't realise until they reach that point where they find the actual truth of the government how they are controlling the monetary system of the nation and printing more money just to pay debts and then shifting the burden on the general public. The fiat has trust because it is in existence from lot of time and banking system but with advancement we should look at new ways also and trusting them is a mistake which should not be avoided.

Why would someone want to leave that convenience and want to move over?
Okay as you said about UPI transactions then yes it's lot popular in countries like India and after the Covid time there are huge daily transactions worth thousands crore but there are certain restrictions also like you can't send over 100k as it's the daily limit for them and if you see you want to send money to someone above this limit you have to go through normal banking transactions.Second they are not direct payments and your bank is intermediary acting as third party to settle down the transaction and can block it or sometimes the servers don't respond so what's in this case? Third you are just using digital mode of payment of your bank but still you have fiat in your bank which is not going to give you any return but on other side bitcoin can give your profits as well in long term when the prices rise so are people not ready to get with it?

Security, privacy, censorship resistance. You are entirely dependent on the underlying bank or other fiat payment processor for the security of your coins.
Exactly the UPI payment mode @OP is refering to is attached to your banks and you have to link your card details with it first of all to make payments so in reality you are sharing all the details with them and we know how these platforms have bad reputation in exploiting the user data so security and privacy is major concern with these apps. Moreover your each transaction is monitored by the government knowing also what you are eating when you pay for pizza with it having more control over you. They are earning lot of taxes also with it and people have convience of making payments but not know you are still under their control so what safety do you expect from them?
797  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 🖤 - #1 VIP Crypto Casino on: February 13, 2023, 03:38:50 PM

798  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: February 13, 2023, 03:21:48 PM
Hello, 8 days ago i made a withdrawal, and it was on hold, each of the day support was telling me thats all ok, money will come soon,  today i received a message  “You were banned for Sportsbook abuse”. They denied to give me back my deposit. Reporting this blatantly scam case here so people would be aware to play on this casino. And waiting for an answer from rollbit representative here. They basically scammed me on mu deposit
You should open a proper thread in the board mentioned above but you will have to provide all the proofs and if you are not at fault the case will be resolved but as the team has mentioned sportsbook abuse they might have come across some suspicious activity in your account resulting in this. They have taken 8 days for these verifications but what was your withdrawal amount?
799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do I need to know? on: February 13, 2023, 03:06:23 PM
Which crypto currency wallet can I use to invest on Bitcoin?
You can invest in bitcoin through some exchanges or with P2P ways like localbitcoins.com and then safely secure your coins in non custidial wallets like Electrum with your seed phrase safely.

Can I use luno wallet to invest in Bitcoin?
https://www.luno.com/
It's not wallet but say a platform that let you buy/sell ETH and BTC but still have the risk of central authority with control of your keys but if you want more information about it read it here

Based on the way I am very despirate about crypto trading I have been scammed many times. I don't really know how I joined this forum but the way am seeing things, here this is were I can learn more about Bitcoin investment.
This market has chances to earn good profits but also invite the number of scammers to find different ways to make you fool as this is whole digital money into your wallets and exchange so it's more prone to risks. But the first thumb rule states that invest once you understand the market and in your case you have been already scammed of your funds and don't have knowledge for it so best is not to invest at this time. But if you want then best is to invest only in bitcoin with the amount you are willing to loose and keep it safe for long term in your wallets. Also learn about bitcoin which will help you to understand a lot about it and how to manage your funds safely.

Congratulations to you from me.
I pray you become a legendary soon
For @OP he is heading towards legendary rank from the merits perspective as he needs 79 more merits which he can achieve fast but the long wait is still there as you see the activity part is still low.So it would take him more months to reach that target.

See I know you might have come across this thread now but as a suggestion I would say to you not to bump up old threads unnecessarily and make contributions on more recent threads.
