how can I get this to work on windows?>
it runs in linux.
you can install linux on a virtual machine, then you would be able to run it.
782  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Sapphire 5830 Extreme - Stock Voltage Overclock on: January 27, 2012, 12:52:21 AM
i always overclock to the highest possible if it can hash 3 days straight in 90F ambient temperature.
Then, lower it by 30MHz. That way I don't need to come back home with stopped/rebooted machines. Saves lots of headaches.

Wow, if it was up to me I would get rid of all of them...
then you wouldn't be able to hash your coins.

If I had to pay 0.50 Euro I would pay it to save the enviroment. You guys in the US dont care about that yet, but you will do so in the future (or you will have to). Look how you live, look what you eat, look what cars you drive, etc. In 2022 we will be the ones who laughs about you, when you live in a country with 104 (2011) nuclear power stations ... I wouldn't live there. There is something that counts more then money.

Greetz
NetworkerZ

Which has nothing to do with nothing.

1) PV solar isn't that great for the environment.  It is made from a soup of highly toxic chemical and today 65% of it is made in ... China.  Yup those international bastions of clean manufacturing.

2) I would rather had 500 nuclear reactors than millions of acres of high cost PV panels.

3) Even if you are right it has absolutely nothing to do w/ the post you responded to which was about the ECONOMICS of PV SOLAR.
Totally agree.
I first thought solar is the way to go, but after so much research..... i concluded..... solar will never work. The panels are not efficient, and we need batteries that are 100x more capable than today's batteries.

This is what the nuclear power business wants you to believe. Look at Germany, it works very well ...

Greetz
NetworkerZ
Then you are way over your head.
Look at how much $$ the German gov't subsidize it.
After so much money poured in by the gov, solar power still cost you over 0.25 euro

Everyone who lives in Cali tells me it's 78 and sunny every day, all the time.  Why isn't that entire state covered in solar cells?
B/c solar will NEVER work, at least not now.
Every solar project has been subsidized heavily by Gov. And even so, they still go bankrupt.

It says my worker is connected, but it is not hashing.
I checked on my machine, all it says is phornix r111 starting..... and 0 hashes.
I am using command line, NOT using mining management software like cgminer or things like that.

Have you set up a pool yet?
yes i have set up a pool, and the worker is pointed to use that pool on the site.

would the masters care to explain?

According to BTCGuild, the current PPS rate is 0.0000363.
On gpumax, the current price to buy per share is 0.0000572.
Using 20,000 shares, that would cost me  1.144BTC. In return, I would only get 0.726BTC from BTCGuild.
Why would anyone wants to do that?
I can see a reason to buy if the price to buy is quoted in USD. But if I am paying in BTC, and receiving in BTC, what am I to gain from this?

Your DD-WRT'd USB router Smiley
that would be really awesome if someone can get that to work.

I would be interested to invest.
PM me know when you decide to start this.
795  Economy / Services / Re: Help me buy this item (Street Atlas USA 2012 PLUS) on: January 20, 2012, 01:05:49 AM
why can't you do it yourself? outside the US?
I can do it if that other person haven't done so.
796  Economy / Services / Re: Possible? Write a DD-WRT script to short two pins momentarily, to reset PC on: January 20, 2012, 01:04:47 AM
Have you tried a different BIOS version?

What about Wake on LAN?  Does that work on you're motherboard?  That's what I use and DD-WRT has it built in.  That will definitely allow you to turn your rig back on after an outage.
Cool. I never figured out WOL, cause the last few times I tried it never work. But that was not using dd-wrt though. Will try.
Might have to upgrade the BIOS, but i doubt it ever gets addressed, as 99% of people don't use that function at all.
But thanks though. The only problem left now is if it ever gets a hard lockup... then i am screwed.
797  Economy / Services / Re: Possible? Write a DD-WRT script to short two pins momentarily, to reset PC on: January 20, 2012, 12:54:33 AM
That is just an extender for the buttons and power LED from the motherboard to let's say another room (ie; you don't have to walk your lazy but from one room to another just to reboot it or shut it down or see the power LED).  It works end-to-end off a cat5 cable.  That is in no way intended to plug into a networking device.

Interesting concept, but how would a router physically short two pins?

I think the ideal solution is to stabilize you're rig. I like you're creativity though.
By sending out signal on two pins at once, making the mobo think it is shorted. I have no idea how much current is needed.
I didn't come up with the idea, someone else on this forum did.
well, the rigs are stable, but power outages are out of my control.
I have one of the mobos where the "state after power loss" don't work as expected. Really sucks.

965 BTC in withdraws for today.

it would probably be helpful if some lenders could help confirm that... although i'm sure most want to remain private.

Yea, they are welcome to speak for themselves but I was not going to disclose that information.
i withdrew some yesterday
