initramfs.bin.SD-20141016.tar.gz is the last firmware that supports adjusting voltage. Everything after that is sabotaged by bitmain.
None of smit1237's available firmwares have voltage control, as they are based on initramfs.bin.SD-20150129.tar.gz.
A good S4 will run 225MHz at 0710-0720, average S4 will need 0725, bad S4 will need 0730 to be stable at 225MHz. The lower the better, of course. Proceed at your own risk if using the stock S4 PSU.

To be expected considering heat only wants to do one thing in life - rise. Thanks for sharing your results.

Yes, it works in America. However, you need access to 208 to 240 Volts instead of 120 Volts. This would be a 2 poll breaker in the Main Service Panel and a minimum of 20 amps with 12 AWG wiring. If 2 poll 30 amp breaker, you need 10 AWG wiring. I don't think you are going higher than 30 Amps if you are installing a 240 volt outlet for the BMT 1600 watt PSU if you are in your home. I would suspect if you were in a data center, you would not have asked this question. 240 Volts is the way to go. You can run twice as many rigs than you can with 120 Volts. If you don't know what you're doing with electricity, get some help locally. Could easily get away with a 2 pole 15A 240V breaker and 14GA wire if all he wants to power is 1 or 2 bitmain PSUs. If more, 30A and PDU.

Firmware is updated, overclocking definitely still works.

I know the options are still there, but has anyone who updated to the new firmware confirmed that overclocking still works?
Not sure if working tbh, getting 100 GH/s less on stock clock. My overclocked 625mhz one was at 4,98~th/s, is now at 4,80, has only been running for 2 mins tho. Great. Give it some more time to stabilize, hopefully it's just variance.. I seriously hope bitmain hasn't started stealth removing functionality from the S7 like they have in the past with other miners. Seems good: Looks good indeed. Guess I'll update my S7.

Many people bitched previously, yet those same people came back to buy again.. Tells Bitmain none of the bitching matters..
What's the alternative? If you want to continue mining, of course.

I am disappointed with the lack of respect shown to me in this case.
Really? Bitmain has generally shown a lack of respect to everyone. Why would you expect your experience to be different?

Wolfen, your rig found 15 altcoin blocks on nicehash, not bitcoin blocks.
I managed to sneak an order in yesterday while B3 was going in and out of stock for a while. This morning I took a look, and the order status is "Expired". Has this happened to anyone else? I Just sent bitmain an email so they can look into it.

Sounds to me like you shouldn't really be mining until your living situation improves..

Just got an order in for 1 batch 3 also. Wonder why they're going in and out of stock like that.
Can someone who has updated to the new S7 firmware verify if overclocking is still available in the frequency selection please?
I suspect they have a certain amount set to sell. And either they are counting ones in cart's or possibly ones that did not get paid in time might go back up. As it's kinda common to see a few people show as unpaid even though they pay just don't get the confirmations. That is my guess's on why. Makes sense to me. Have you updated any of your S7s? I hardly ever update Bitmain gear. It has to be a huge feature or flaw huge for me to do it. Ever since I bricked a S3 controller I was not a fan. I kinda turned into the mindset if it is mining good... i leave it alone. Yeah, I hear ya. Never had an update go bad, but I've regretted bitmain updates. I'll stick to the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" reasoning with bitmain from now on.

Looks like all frequencies are there Cool, thanks. I'm leery of bitmain updates now since they have a tendency of removing features in the past. Last time I updated my S4+ they lost their OCing options. S4 had its voltage control removed.

Quick question, does anyone know where the cgminer config file is located? I'd like to change some settings, such as --scan-time
Thanks
