8101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ARK staking on: March 01, 2018, 01:50:06 PM
Interesting, I did not know there was a new form of staking that did not require you to open you wallet (and leave your computer on). I had concluded my proof of stake experiments in 2017, with some profits and some losses, and overall a computer that was probably too old to run more than 5 wallets at a time. I felt it was not for me after all. ARK does seem like a good coin, in the sense of the positivity surrounding it. I am now a bit curious about this DPOS though.
8102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 01, 2018, 10:33:54 AM

Polo is not usable any more with bitches like Goldman Sachs owning it  Roll Eyes Shocked

Meh. It's hardly usable anyway right now in it's current state. And you know that only depends on whether you plan on paying taxes. I sold a little crypto to build a house and I was fine using exchanges that report to the feds because you cant get away with paying for something like a house without paying taxes anyway. So it all just depends on the situation. But yea if you plan on spending a million dollars per year of profits on hookers and blow and not paying taxes on those profits you probably shouldn't use VSquidEx.

Exactly. I think it started becoming unusable as soon as Bitcoin started its spring run mid last year. I had only ever used it for the loaning services, happy to have made my share of profits from that, but I am glad I got out of it before all that shitstorm rained down.

I pay my taxes, I do my KYC when required, I do everything I know I will eventually have to do. But I am pretty sure guys like Poloniex would find any excuse to bite me in the ass one day.
8103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What happen with IGNIS ? on: February 28, 2018, 02:12:53 PM
Published three weeks ago but same outcome. Falling coin. I have one such alt in the shape of Elastic. Bought it now almost one year ago and it seems it is just money going down the drain. The fiat loss is not too bad, but the bitcoin loss is just horrendous. I have already marked it as a loss to be honest, but happy to just hold it forever, until price recovers or it goes bust. The project itself is still hopeful, so maybe they will eventually be a sleeper coin everyone forgot about.
8104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lending Platform - Is this sustainable rates? on: February 28, 2018, 01:41:43 PM
Do not you feel it is plain irony that a platform talking about sustainable rates is offering an unsustainable 30% bonus to pre-sale investors? I know, I know, everyone tells me 30% is not the highest, but if you are talking about a lending platform, that 30% advantage is too big for early investors, who will of course be the only ones who will want to loan out money on this platform.

Lending is tricky, always has been. Interest bearing models are by definition unsustainable.
8105  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would be the signs a big dip is coming on: February 28, 2018, 12:27:24 PM
I think the best sign of a big dip is an overheated market. Massive volumes that are only increasing week after week, prices just climbing higher without tracing back. And ATH after ATH broken and going for more. If this sounds familiar, then yes, it happened less than three months ago in December. Everybody was so happy, everybody kept saying more and more. Then the huge dip was on its way.
8106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin after Chinese holiday on: February 28, 2018, 07:25:07 AM
Yes I think so, but it is not a kind of sudden appearance, maybe after a couple of weeks or month but at least it will will decrease again with same value from the past. And surely it can recover the past value when it was at the price of 19k. And I believe that the growth of the community for those interested to buy will become fast for such situation written by the OP is quite not new for many that whenever Chinese day bitcoin is alt the dump stage.

Oh, it will definitely just be a matter of time about reaching 20k again. ATHs are meant to be broken, and Bitcoin is far from being the mature market that we can expect has hit its prime. I mean, even oil and gold, only recently in past years made their all time highs, and those were trading for such a long period of time. Scarcity is the factor people forget about and one day Bitcoin will be scarce. We will not live to see the true Bitcoin ATH.
8107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I am a HODLer, but want to try day trading starting with $100. on: February 27, 2018, 05:48:35 PM
That is a really good and safe way, and is just how I did it. I am also a holder by definition, since I only buy coins I want to keep until a certain value is reached, but I also put a small amount of Bitcoin into trading alts but even then, not daring enough to try day trading like you! My suggestion,,, do not let the $100 fool you. 0.01 BTC is not a small amount. Trade coins that are below 50 cents and you have plenty to move.

Always check markets for volume, day trading needs high volumes.
8108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SELL YOUR ALTCOINS! BITCOIN WILL DOMINATE THE MARKET! on: February 27, 2018, 02:47:41 PM
You are heralding what has always been. Bitcoin has always been in boom. Altcoin "booms" are just followers of the trend set already by Bitcoin years ago. The boom from hundredths of cents to 1 cent, the boom from 1 cent to 10 dollars. And then the boom from 10 dollars to 10,000 dollars. It just keeps going, and alts are simply trying to keep up. And what happens when Bitcoin falls? So do alts. So we do not know what you are talking about. Altcoin boom, my cryptoass Wink
8109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: THE COFFEE TOKEN - The First and Only COFFEE ICO in the world! on: February 27, 2018, 09:54:51 AM
Well, the business idea is not too bad. Everybody drinks coffee, and everywhere sells coffee. People seem to not mind paying big money for two or three cups when they are out and the cost is in fact so low. I know in my coffee shop where I got, they sell hundreds of cups a day. The profit comes from there. I pot of coffee can serve so many customers the profit margin is so high. But tokens? You better got a great distribution plan.
8110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Private key is not safe on: February 27, 2018, 08:58:11 AM
Yeah, it is not possible to expose your private key like that. That simply is not how things work. MyEtherWallet is secure, blockchain is secure. All reported cases of people losing their private keys have always been due to phishing attacks or simply the personal user getting malware, hacked, et cetera.

Find out how it happened to you. Sweep your computer for malware. Make sure you only bookmark secure MEW site. Never click on links ever.
8111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 46% of last year's ICOs have failed already on: February 26, 2018, 06:49:22 PM
That is very interesting to read I knew a lot would die this year or next year but I was very surprised to see that almost half have failed. I am sure a lot of those ICOs would actually fight this conclusion however.

What will be more interesting is to see how many successful ICOs fail to develop or launch their product, or eventually bust and lose all their investors funds. I bet this will make 2019 very interesting.
8112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the difference between an ICO and an altcoin? on: February 26, 2018, 05:03:17 PM
ICOs are crowd funding events, these have nothing to do with altcoins themselves except that they usually result in the creation of one or more digital tokens or coins, collectively referred to as altcoins. Altcoins are as people have said, every other cryptocurrency/token other than Bitcoin.

Investing in altcoins just means buying them directly. Investing in ICOs means you get your share of tokens/alts after they are launched.

My advice: read up until you know the basics before buying or investing.
8113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: RiptoBux - Another dead waves token on: February 26, 2018, 04:39:42 PM
Just because hundreds of people are creating stupid tokens on Waves does not mean Waves is a dead platform. This is the early wave of testors and experimenters, let them fill the crypt with dead tokens. There used to be hundreds of Bitcoin clones too, and hey last year we had several dead forks of Bitcoin.

Just wait for a few big Waves projects to show the way and let people know it is the fastest blockchain around.
8114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you haven't sold off your Alts yet, you don't know what you're doing on: February 26, 2018, 02:59:50 PM
Well I never sold a single Bitcoin that I intended to keep, and I always sell of my alts to recover the Bitcoin invested (used to buy the alts) so I guess I am a partial idiot. Bitcoin is my asset, my wealth and what I love most because:
> I can use it any time
> i can sell it any time

Alts I always worry will lose their value, though am confident the ones I truly hold will have many years left in them - Monero, Litecoin, Waves, stratis.

And yes, I was an idiot with alts like Elastic. Hold forever and it keeps going down.
8115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ICO on Yobit Exchange on: February 26, 2018, 10:19:23 AM
OK. First of all, before you even think of doing this, I can tell you my experience from the past 3 ICOs I have experienced launching on Yobit. I did not buy any, and am very happy I stayed away.

Their ICO is just a spin on raising money for a sort of ponzi game. Except that they do not pay out latecomers with new money, they just let the market gamble on their own setting high prices and then letting people dump on each other. All of them play out like this: the ICO tokens sell out hard, then price goes up, and then people dump.

The buy walls and investbox plans are all there to keep the game going longer.

Rocket was their own ICO token launched last year. for 50 BTC, you pay them 5 BTC fee (10%).
8116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you move to a tax haven to protect your crypto trillions? on: February 25, 2018, 07:56:33 PM
Brunei is something a bit different from island. Technically it is on an island (the third largest in the world, but it is all within driving distance of Malaysia and Indonesia, and 2 hours away from everything else surrounding Southeast Asia. I read they have zero tax on anything. Not income, not capital, not savings. Zero tax on everything (they have a kind rich king). Crypto is also very new to that region as far as I know. I do not think I would mind moving there at all.
8117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHICH COIN WILL MAKE ME POOR, LOOKING FOR -1X! on: February 25, 2018, 06:36:13 PM
Haha, Tim, nice post. Why not use the strategy of people looking to make x100? Buy all the top 100 coins, and post the biggest loser here. Meanwhile, make 100 threads about "This is the final warning, I told you first about X coin". And as each coin drops, you come out and say you were the first to predict it. Instant youtube fame.

P.S. Bitcoin Cash will make you poor. Go and buy it now.
8118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Using Blockchain technology for customer loyalty programs on: February 25, 2018, 08:48:57 AM
This is actually a good idea. But the problem is, since 2017 (last year), I have seen many many projects already try to do the exact same thing. As in one single loyalty points system to unite all existing ones. The problem also is that none of this are recognizable names in the commercial world, so they have a huge task in trying to encourage merchants to use them.

I think it can be successful, but it needs to partner with a big project that already knows how to do marketing. That is actually the most important point. Marketing. Do that well and you have a chance.
8119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is that Massive Correction all over now ? on: February 24, 2018, 07:19:26 PM
I just spent a few minutes looking at the threads I followed and commented on in this altcoin section from December. How almost all the OPs spoke too soon, and those who seemingly did not were never making big allegations anyway.

I also saw how my own thoughts were proven and disproven every few weeks. So nothing is ever over in crypto, it seems everything is just beginning.

Never too late to get in. Never too late to sell. Never safe from corrections. Never time to give up on new highs.
8120  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 15% gain today if you want it on: February 24, 2018, 05:11:12 PM
Is that a guarantee bro? If so, I am sooooo in! I put my money down on a guaranteed thing, what could go wrong? Roll Eyes

Guy, you are a full member here so that means you have been at least four months in this trading world. Do you really need to learn more lessons about what could go wrong by blindly following the recommendations of anyone? Never mind if you follow idiots like McAfee. But some unknown guy who is obviously shilling. Guarantees are non existent in crypto. Actually,, that is the only guarantee. That nothing is guaranteed.

Save your money and put in a savings account. At least you have your government's guarantee to trust, if that is any better than here.
