821  Economy / Economics / Re: Choosing the one | What I think! - Real Job or Full Time Crypto! on: August 06, 2018, 05:26:40 PM
clearly and definitely I will choose to work in the real world rather than in cryptocurrency because I think what you mentioned is all true and the most important thing in life is you must be able to earn a definite income. Grin Grin

I think more important than that is happiness. If you do what is your passion, you are intelligent. But if you do just what is  needed to be done, you a re a genius. Most of the people spend their life chasing money just to impress others. Do you think Satoshi (or other people behind crypto) did it for money. I think the biggest driving force for them was to create something that can have a good impact on the world.
822  Economy / Economics / Re: Starbucks drops hint at plans to accept Bitcoin on: August 06, 2018, 04:37:51 PM
McDonald's has already issued its crypto currency. Starbucks plans to accept payment by bitcoins. This once again proves the development and promotion of bitcoin and crypto currency.

When did Macdonalds made that announcement ? I have not heard about ti and there  is also no thread made about it here on this forum.

Now coming back to the article OP provided, I think it will be a cool thing once implemented. Starbucks is very popular among the youth and if they allow crypto, it will help increase its popularity.

823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anyone teach me? on: August 06, 2018, 03:55:38 PM
There is google and as long there is google there is nothing you can't learn yourself. Just learn to proper use the google search function which is not difficult at all and you will be looking at various websites, guides, tips, tricks and many other poker things to help you get the upper hand against your opponents. Remember in texas holdem poker, patience and the knowledge to know when to act are keys to success.

When I started with card related games, I used to search  a lot of those tutorials. There were no dedicated websites for this at that time (I started quite early).

But in current time, one can even video a dedicated video channel for this with lot of helpful tutorials. With the trend of crypto gambling and the commission they offer , I think that more such websites will pop up.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel shameful for being a gambler? on: August 06, 2018, 03:47:50 PM
We are same, I am ashamed to be a gambler because gambling on the stamp is a bad thing, and this is happening in my country. But now the gamble we can hide well, not even one person who knows that I am a gambler. Online gambling is the best place for someone who is in a country that hates gambling. So, there is nothing more to worry about being a gambler.

It is more of self acceptance after a point. Because others do not care what you do or what is going to happen to you because of you actions.

I think if a person is playing with his own money and is following his limits, there is nothing to be ashamed of gambling. All the money that a person earns is spent on his needs. Leisure or entertainment is also a need today and gambling is one of the ways to get that.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you still continue? on: August 06, 2018, 03:42:46 PM
In my own term I'd be stopping already at the amount of 30-40% in my budget, It's stupid to risk all your money in a day, I know that luck does not strongly base on what your games would be, but rather than to know if you are actually playing the game right or you are just playing the game to win money without even using your common sense, learn how to restrain yourself, or else you'd be using your feet all the way onto your home.

Luck in this case is more like probability. It is like that if you pick the same number in all games, the probability of the number coming increase with every failed attempt. This can be handy in small bets but a lot of other considerations are required.

It is good that you have the control to stop at 30% of your budget. If all gamblers have such control, gambling will be more fun.
826  Other / Archival / Re: Do i need a license if i want to create a crypto gambling site? on: August 06, 2018, 03:33:30 PM
I made a similar thread in this section and as per the responses there, I came to know that it would depend on the laws of that country.

Also, there are some crypto friendly countries where you can get the license easily at very less cost.

827  Other / Meta / Re: Talented Sr. Member----> aces777 on: August 05, 2018, 07:28:57 PM
Just report those posts as necrobumping, don't start threads about them.
Reported.
Will not create any more. Thank you.
You should also lock this thread now as the purpose is served.
828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What problem should a crypto will solve in the future? on: August 05, 2018, 06:57:24 PM
The banking system is very much disconnected and it has large numbers of scattered accounting systems which could be better if all are interconnected in a same system and this problem can be sorted out by Ripple crypto.

I agree, banks can benefit a lot from crypto. I am strongly of the opinion that crypto and banks can easily co-exist. Let me give another scenario where bitcoin and crypto can be useful in future. In developing countries it can be used for public distribution schemes. Since all payments will be digitally recorded, it will bring more transparency to the process. But the big question is that are the politicians in those countries going to accept it.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No women in Bitcoin you say? on: August 05, 2018, 06:54:18 PM
hahaha that's not true, a few weeks ago I told my girl friend a little about bitcoin, and now she wants to start investing money to bitcoin

If I  told about bitcoins to females I know, they will ask me "What is it ? "

My elder sister who is little active online has some idea about bitcoins. Lat time I told here that I am having some bitcoins, she scolded me and told me that I should not investing in such risky things. I think I will never be able to convince here as she had already made her mind.
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you do when someone say bitcoin is illegal thing? on: August 05, 2018, 06:26:33 PM
Show him or her how huge is the crypto world and why it isn't illegal

Crypto being huge does not validates its use for illegal things. I will make that person understand how illegal things were happening even before there was crypto. Crypto is not the only mode of payment being used for these illegal things. The criminals had also been using other options like cash and cards for so many years.
831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NO ONE SELLS BUT HODL? on: August 05, 2018, 06:21:29 PM
When it will happen, it's something that might happen and it won't last long because everyone has different needs.

Very true. If you visit the currency exchange section here in bitcointalk , you will find people selling their crypto for PayPal even in current conditions.

Similarly, some are selling btc for other coins. Some people might be having the need and requirement for a particular coin like eth. This may be because the seller they are dealing with is asking for payment in that particular coin.
832  Other / Meta / Re: List of Merit Worthy Posts on: August 05, 2018, 04:32:14 PM
Hi guys, is it allowed to create a thread for posting links of merit worthy posts? I'm sure most of us in our day to day use of bitcointalk forum, we encounter high quality posts but some of them are not recognized and rewarded because either the one who found it is not capable of giving merit or he/she has limited amount of merits to give. Also, some of high quality posts are not recognized or unnoticed because of flooding replies/posts/comments from other members.

The thread I am thinking is to be used only for nominating merit worthy posts. Anyone can nominate but must not be their own to prevent being bias.

The thread would be very much helpful to those who deserved but unnoticed and also to those who are giver of merits.

You think someone with merit who does not have the time to merit posts on the forum will bother reading such a thread. Do not take it otherwise but if you think about it with practically, you will start feeling like closing this thread. Smiley
833  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it practical to expect tenfold jump in Bitcoin this year ? on: August 05, 2018, 04:24:33 PM
Tenfold jump? I hope you understand that tenfold is more like saying ten times present value and by that, and at the current price, you are expecting something within the range of $60k to $80k this year? Come on!

Yes, I meant 10 fold increase only. I know that expecting this performance is highly  optimistic but it has done better in previous years. I know $80k for a bitcoin may sound too much but it will happen one day for sure.

It needs a miracle now a we have only six months left and the first six months had been very bad in terms of bitcoin price growth.
834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I improve my visibility on Steemit? on: August 05, 2018, 04:21:18 PM
Firstly, bring some quality on the table. People would not like to read boring analysis why is this project “going to the moon” in a few days and we should not stay passive. Even though if you provide people with this kind of valuable information, this does not mean an instant success. Try different approaches, make a contest for some kind of crypto gift card or figure it out by yourself. But, in my opinion, Steemit is not the greatest place to post such things. I would suggest looking at Medium, which is a great platform for people with many interests including crypto. You will not be paid in crypto, but you can change that easily, right  Grin? Check it out and give it a try, you might be amazed by an active community and enthusiasts with the same hobbies that might support you under every single post  Smiley.

But medium does not reward the users directly. I mean you can use it to drive traffic to your websites and then make money through sales there. But I have heard that they are very much against referral links and promotion.

Also, in a recent update Medium has also started banning accounts with bounty related  posts on medium.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of hacks, whats the solution? on: August 04, 2018, 04:51:20 PM
A lot of suggestions had been share on this thread by members like use of a hardware wallet. You can go for these suggestions to enhance the safety.

But let me tell you, it will still not be 100% guaranteed that all your money is safe in crypto. There will always be some risk of it getting hacked because of some loophole or bug on the exchange. You will have to keep it in mind while making a crypto investment.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll reveals that 75% of the US investors believe bitcoin is 'very risky' on: August 03, 2018, 06:21:34 PM
It's correct. Investing in Crypto is a risk. However, the profits it brings are so great that you can forget about all the risks. I believe in the future of this market and I am still involved  Grin Grin

Frankly speaking, I do not think that this poll is correct. A lot of things need to be considered while considering these polls like sample size.

In case, this is true (75 % Americans believing bitcoin is 'very risky'), I think the percentage will be above 95% for all over the world. Also, in my opinion the majority is not of people who like it or consider it risky, majority is of people who are neutral about it (they have no idea about what it is actually) .
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes enough is enough on: August 03, 2018, 06:18:26 PM
Don't go to the ATM. If you don't have the self control to not do that, then leave your bank cards at home. Go out gambling with a set amount of hard cash - if you run out of cash, and have no bank cards on you, then you have no option but to go home.

Very practical suggestion. A friend of mine does the same when they got to shopping with his wife. He leaves the cards at home and carries cash only. Cash is still very much common here and thus he can pay for thing easily. But if he is going to take his cards with him, his bank balance might be emptied completely. So this keeps check on his wife.

Now in case of gambling, it is you who has to keep check on yourself which is much harder. So the same technique can be handy.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online gambling games fixed? on: August 03, 2018, 06:15:46 PM
Good question.
I think most are.
This is why smart-contract based gambling is growing in popularity.
However it has to be said that not everybody is instantly able to verify the nature of a smart-contract..

I am hearing of the word smart contract for the first time. Looks like it is not common in betting sites in my country as I never saw it mentioned on any site here.

One of the features that catches my attention is that they claim to have some certificate from an independent agency regarding the games being fair. But in the current age, even that can be altered or they may start to cheat after getting certified. Only government can ensure transparency with regular and surprise certifications of these sites.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 03, 2018, 06:11:04 PM
I wouldn't even rate Kohli as the best batsmen currently. There are others out there, such as Steve Smith, Root, Williamson and Chandimal. What makes Kohli special or unique when compared to the other players? After all, he is human only.  Grin

Do not follow Cricket much now but I think that A B de Villiers is also a much better package in comparison to Virat. I know the stats may tell you otherwise but if you compare their best innings , you can clearly see the difference. No batsmen in the world has as much variety of shots as ABD. I am not saying that Virat is a bad player, he is certainly the best India has got currently.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you still continue? on: August 03, 2018, 06:07:16 PM
Just interesting question Grin, doubtlessly yes, because i'm extremely addicted to gambling and i will continue if even i lose a lot because i put target before starting and i'll play until i get that target.

What happens if you loose all money ? That might sound silly but has happened to me in past. I had reached a point where my bank balance was almost zero. I even took money from some people to continue gambling. When I look back at those days, it is hard for me to believe that I am the same person.

I have recovered from gambling addiction completely now.
