822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why would one pay $7K for Bitcoin if he can get the same thing for $0.001? on: November 26, 2019, 02:23:16 PM
And what altcoin would that be?

Yeah let us do some comparison here but let us not go with full "imagination".
Too much "imagine" word in your world.  Grin

Let us say I bought an Iphone and then you bought some cheap China phone.
Both are created in the same country but the price are way far from each other.
An Iphone at $1000 while your cheap unknown China phone is at $100.

What will you buy?
Ain't that just the same as your comparison?
Trust, reliability, name, and a lot more. It gets more value because of that.

Bitcoin and altcoins cannot be compared at all. If you hold one bitcoin and you hold one shitcoin, their value cannot be equal. You can think of an original iphone vs a clone iphone and same is the relation between bitcoin and shitcoins. You can copy and made a lot of shitcoins but none of them can be trusted and reliable as bitcoin.
823  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What fee / byte (sat / byte) on: November 26, 2019, 01:58:12 PM
If you are not in a hurry then 1sat/byte should be enough.

I also want to use 1sat/ byte for my transactions and want to save the default fee and save my satoshi. One day when bitcoin price will be very high these small satoshis used in fee will be lot in value.
One thing which i want to know is approx. how much time it will take for a single confirmation if we use 1sat/byte ?

Do you also provide hard copies of these cards too ?
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins are left? on: November 25, 2019, 04:54:39 PM
...
18 million - lost coins = ?

My question is how many Bitcoins are left, which is really a question of how many have been lost?

...
Here's a little task for you if you want to know how many Bitcoins are left - 21 000 000 - 18 067 062 =?
...

Op is talking about the lost coins, not about the total bitcoins less the mined bitcoins. So, your little task is wrong,

So, as OmegaStarScream say, around 4M bitcoins are lost, and one of those millions are satoshi coins. And satoshi gives us some words about the lost coins:

Quote
“Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone.”

No one can give how many exact coins are lost by now but i think with the bitcoin adaption increases the lost coins ratio will also increase and i have a valid reason for this.

Currently everyone is using Paper currencies stored at home or banks. If a person dies, the banks can easily hand over the cash to his belongings on valid verification but if a bitcoin holder dies and he did not tell anyone the secret key, then those bitcoin will be lost forever. I know few of the people will give the access to siblings etc, but most of them won't and consider everyone having some portion of bitcoin and people dying in accidents etc will make bitcoins lost number increase to a greater extent.

I expect this lost number increases as more people hold or get access to bitcoins.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Abu Dhabi T10 League 2019 on: November 25, 2019, 04:12:08 PM
But Maratha Arabians won the series, because of Deccan Gladiators has not got a good start with their opener's and middle-order batting line-up collapsed so they have given the target of 88 runs to Maratha Arabians, it was too easy to chase for Maratha Arabians and they did.

Pathetic batting display by the Deccan Gladiators. I expected a lot from them, given the recent form of Mohammad Shahzad, Shane Watson and Kieron Pollard. But McClenaghan and Malinga put them in pressure from the start. They could manage only 87 runs and it is never going to be enough in T10 format. In the end, the final turned out to be very lop-sided.

Deccan Gladiators made a mess out of it and it turned out to be the most boring and disappointed final. I was not favoring any team but i did wanted to see a close final and it was one of the most boring match of the tournament. Having the low score to chase Maratha Arabians started fearlessly and easily managed to chase the target in just 7 overs.
827  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are stable coins solving the problem of providing stability to our funds? on: November 25, 2019, 02:50:50 PM
The market is dumping currently, and all of us are trying to save our funds, one of the best ways to not get REKT is to convert your cryptocurrencies into the stable coins.

For a moment just keep the stable coins aside, do you think that converting the bitcoins into stable coins will save you from being REKT ?
I do not think so. If are good trader and you know bitcoin can dump, then you would have converted into stable coins between 8 - 9K. But those who did not convert at that time and if they convert them now at 6500$, it is too risky as bitcoin can bounce back and then those who have converted will be at loss.

I agree with you, never thought from this prospective, TBH I myself have been REKT, I did not convert my coins on time and now I am in heavy loss until bitcoin goes back to 9000$. Still stable coins play a pivotal role in saving your funds.

As i said that bitcoin jumped to 7200$, those who converted near 6600$ will be in loss by now. That is the reason that converting into Stable coins is as risky as doing any altcoin trades in bear market without the perfect TA analysis.
If anyone is a experienced trader, only he can convert to USDT on the perfect time, rest it is too much risky.

829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you currently holding stablecoins(USDT, TUSD, etc)? Think again. on: November 24, 2019, 03:49:57 PM
Thanks for your post I didn't know until now that those stablecoins has the ability to froze our funds except DAI. It really feels uncomfortable and unsafe holding these stablecoins if it's really true. I will be reading the medium post and look for its basis or source. But I guess it is still safe if you are using it on exchanges for trading. Lools like DAI is a better choice in terms of stablecoins.

A coin is stable because it is controlled by some authority. You might have heard the tether fud few month back and it was not fully backed by USD. You can trade with these stable coins but never keep your funds in them for long time. If you cannot keep your funds in Bitcoin and want to keep them in USD, go for the fiat which is more reliable than these coins.

831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning! Here's Why BTC is Set To Fall To 3000 or Lower! on: November 24, 2019, 01:26:27 PM
No one can be sure and if Satoshi was alive, even he would not be sure for the bitcoin future. But as we see that Fiat markets situation are not so good, this indicates that crypto market will flourish.
Even if the bitcoin halving may not be the cause of next bitcoin pump, it can be that the world biggest economic crash which will make bitcoin cross 100,000$ or more.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tete vs Casimero on Nov 30 on: November 24, 2019, 12:10:41 PM
Just 6 days from now, however, I still don't see an available betting line for this fight.
I search again in sportsbet but it does not show any for this event, and even in https://nitrogensports.eu/sport/boxing/boxing-matches.

I would be very happy to bet right away if anyone can share which betting site this fight available.

You can bet on this match on the following websites (at your own risk).

https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/boxing/market/1.165380422
https://www.sportsbet.com.au/betting/boxing/boxing-matches/zolani-tete-v-john-riel-casimero-4975751

Tete is more favorite of the two.
833  Other / Meta / Re: Use of TOR Browser for Bitcointalk on: November 24, 2019, 07:37:38 AM
I am currently using Firefox but i want to use TOR browser to login Bitcointalk. Is it safe to use TOR browser as i heard it is a dark web browser where hackers can hack our credentials and information ?

Tor Browser is more used for the privacy purpose. If you want to protect your identity online then tor is for you. If you think that login is not secure, then you are wrong.  But you should ensure that SSL/TLS is enabled for the site where you are logging.

You can gain more information about privacy browsers here. https://www.privacytools.io/browsers/
834  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with security! I learned my lesson. on: November 23, 2019, 04:54:17 PM
So weeks ago I lost over 20k USD in Crypto.

I had all the private keys, passwords, etc saved in my email draft & I had 2 fa SMS verification didn't know that someone can break it easily. Ended up losing all my savings. Don't use sim verification ever it's pointless there are multiple ways to break it.

If you can afford then buy a hardware wallet. and if you can't then don't store your important data online or anywhere connected to online.

Write down on paper secret codes & keys.

Use different passwords.

Again be very careful with security, If you keep anything online then you're putting yourself at risk.

Even with the 2fa SMS or Google Authentication, you need to enforce some of your own precautionary measures.

1- Keep a separate email for exchanges / online crypto wallets and never display that email on social media etc so no one will know that email belongs to a person who holds the crypto.

2- Writing down secret keys on a paper is also risky, even if you do ,then make them duplicate and also do not write the code in a sequence.

3- Keep the backup codes for 2fa in a separate place because you do not want yourself to be locked out if you ever lost your 2fa device.
835  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Some problematic things about Coinbase on: November 23, 2019, 04:26:28 PM
1: Don't use Coinbase at all

Not just coinbase but all the online wallets and exchanges are risky to store your coins on them. But we cannot live without them because we need some of the coins to be on exchanges or on online wallets for many purposes including send/receive of the coins.

I would recommend to keep small amount on coinbase and keep your major savings on hardware or desktop wallets.

837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble with a controlled mindset on: November 23, 2019, 10:36:07 AM
If you're seriously in the hole, just stay in the hole and live with it. Don't try to double-down and end up digging the hole twice as deep.
Gambling should be a fun game but all the fun are lost when you try to get greedy and coupe more than you bargained for. I would relate the "hole" in question to be the bottom lose one should be able to bear and when it's reached no point giving it a go there are high chances that you lose when you are on tension, your brains seems to be fixed anxiety sets in and you are pushed off balance. You can always call it a day and prepare for another day. In conclusion gamble responsibly

Most of the gamblers are normally not that much mature in their mind as they mostly lose think that they cannot lose. Even i think same that i will win the game but this does not happen always.
A gambler has to make plan and control his game and if he does not do so, he will end up losing in gambling.

839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have control or not? on: November 22, 2019, 03:35:53 PM
Can you consciously and willingly stop gambling at any time?
If you can do the above, you have great control and discipline, of course you are not an addict and you deserve to gamble as much as you want.
If not, clarify your ways of stopping gambling.

I may not be able to stop gambling unless i have no money left. I do not consider myself addicted and all the gambling addicts also do not think themselves addicted. This matter is very subjective and no one knows if they have control to stop the gambling or not, until they really face the situation where they want to stop it willingly.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 30th South East Asian Games on: November 22, 2019, 02:05:32 PM
As an Indonesian, of course I'll support Indonesia to be the one who will get the most medals but I have to be realistic with the reality since Indonesia is not as strong as in the past (years ago) when we can be the top Nations few times in a row. Philippine as the host has bigger advantage obviously, my prediction is that it will be a tight competition between Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. I do not mean to underestimate other countries but just sharing my prediction.
In case of betting, I'm not really sure if we cant find it on crypto sportsbook but I'm sure we can find it on local sportsbook especially on those South East Asian countries.

Indonesians dominated the South East Asian Games from 1977 to 1993 where they have won the most medals around 7 times. This is huge achievement but later years they were not able to show same progress. I am not sure that they will be able to top it this time around specially when the event is not happening in their own country.
