821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Spam Emails pretending to be OpenSea on: January 23, 2024, 06:39:16 PM
Thanks, it seems that these scammers already have the idea that you've got some NFTs. Do you remember where you've likely have input your email related to your NFTs? or they just assume that the victim has NFTs and they're just trying their luck with it?

People who will fall victim to this scam are those who believe there are still some sort of free airdrops or money on the internet, reading the caption on the mail, "Make sure you connect your wallet." This is like telling those who will fall victim to the fact that without connecting your wallet, you can't view the NFT, so those who are in a rush to get free money without thinking twice will connect their wallet there and end up getting it wiped out.
It is sad that many will not learn until they experience the hacking on themselves. With the bull run coming soon, we anticipate that more of these scam emails and phishings will come not just to these people that are new to this but they might even try their luck with the old ones as long as they gathered these emails that they've got somewhere else. This is why it is important to have spare emails for specific things and task that we do.
822  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin’s Slide Below $40K Amid FTX Liquidation and ETF Turmoil on: January 23, 2024, 04:04:20 PM
Just come across this news now , is there any given reason for what is happening in the market now? upon staying in above 40 whole December last year and 3 weeks this January finally it falls down below 40k$

https://bitpinas.com/cryptocurrency/bitcoins-slide-below-40k/?fbclid=IwAR20ro73gYKi1Vf_6d7-Cigk3YlQhBbpgkhtiYJoGC9XJmTtVTgUf5t87kY

If there is similar topic please advise me as I can lock this thanks.
In relation with FTX liquidation, let's say that it's for real that they've got some tons of BTC that managed to dump but isn't it that they've filed for bankruptcy last year? Aside from these big institutions liquidating GBTC, the retailers are just following their moves and going with the flow so the pressure has even got stronger with that. I am logically thinking about for bitcoin to go up, it has to go down and all of these actions that they've been doing to the market is appropriate and it won't matter anymore when we're done with the halving.

What do you expect in such a situation? And the more support levels Bitcoin breaks, the more it will fall.
And that's very likely in the short term. Those that are long term holders, don't have to be worried with these temporary dumps.
823  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is signature payment for free on: January 23, 2024, 02:41:33 PM
Just like a normal company, they've got managers assigned to the job to check everything running smoothly and what the company needs as for the marketing. And with that, the company is the one that funds the campaign and the manager budgets it. For each campaign managers, they're not the same and they've got their own standards on who's the one they feel and think they need based on the campaign and company's need to advertise them.
824  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [UPDATE] Binance BTC Segwit wallet address changed on: January 22, 2024, 08:40:52 PM
I have to check my Binance account if it has updated with this kind of TSS address because I haven't received any notification which they should have done through our emails.

before forwarding as any deposit made to the previous address will need to be authorized manually which will take over 60 minutes before confirmation.
No update on me and it's still the same 60 minutes before confirmation but with the network, they're quicker although I don't choose them as it's not considered Bitcoin to me if they're BSC, BEP20/2, ERC20.
825  Economy / Economics / Re: Price Regulatory Mechanisms: The Solution to the Economic Hardship in Countries on: January 22, 2024, 06:27:28 PM
It is true that whenever the oil price hikes, it is causing a domino impact for almost everything. When cost of transport increases then everything is also gonna be required to increase. That's why those countries that don't have their own fuel production are the ones that suffers on this one, while those countries that produces it will merely feel the effect of the war.

In another way, governments should be the producers of some of these products , the distributor and retailer of these products in order to drag down the monopoly of the private hands.
On an open market, they are allowing everyone to participate on the economy but sadly, many becomes the oligarchs for each of the industries that have been controlled by the government. One way that they can help the people is through subsidies but it should be weighed properly as many countries that also implemented subsidies but didn't end well.
826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A practical way to stop procrastinating and start your investment journey. on: January 22, 2024, 11:54:53 AM
It is a good reminder when you do those things for your personal benefit just for you to keep on track. While it's true that many are keep on saying that they're going to buy Bitcoin when it goes down but, are we really sure that they're buying when the price dips? I don't think so, most are all talk when somebody is in front of them but does nothing when no one's in front of them. Anything that you're doing for your own gain is a must when you feel that you're worst enemy is procrastination then you must do everything in your power to avoid and eliminate that or just to get yourself reminded every time when you're on that state.
827  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Exmarkets scammed me for 2000 usd on: January 21, 2024, 11:12:54 PM
You can email them through their report domain, it's not just dedicated to their fake staff reports but for something like this and in general reporting of scammers so that they're going to delist exmarkets on their listings or put some red note and flag on their tab info.
Coingecko already delisted them and CMC has a warning tag.
Thanks, they've said that they received multiple reports about it and that's a good action. IMO, instead of having their tab/listing removed, it's better to leave it like that where there's a note about the warning tag to remind other users if ever someone is going to try to use them and will do his/her research first. And for the other exchanges and projects as well because it helps when they put these warning tags and messages. I just noticed the below markets start with #1 with curve inu with that volume higher than Bitcoin but upon looking at the volume of it on its own page, it tells zero so I guess there is also some ongoing manipulation going on with that exchange aside from unable to withdraw funds cases.
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2024; What are your opinions? on: January 21, 2024, 09:46:58 PM
Considering the increasing interest from institutional investors, what impact do you think it will have on the overall value and perception of Bitcoin in 2024?
I for one, personally think that Institutional investors have the potential to significantly impact the value and perception of Bitcoin in 2024. Their involvement brings more legitimacy and stability to the market, which can attract more investors and increase overall confidence in Bitcoin. As institutional adoption grows, it could potentially lead to a higher demand for Bitcoin, driving up its value. It's an exciting development that could shape the future of Bitcoin!
What do you think?
They are going to remove the doubts from the noncoiners as if they're only reliant on these institutional investors. Those who have a feeling that Bitcoin is such a scary asset will have to clear their doubt through them as they're going to be like the guarantor that they're finally safe if they are going to invest in it. There is no need to deny that institutional investors will have an impact on the adoption and demand because ever since they were heard having interest to get into this market, there was a positive impact that has been seen.
829  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Trust wallet on: January 21, 2024, 05:09:08 PM
For every blockchain or network et. al. ETH, BNB, TRX, you'll be required to pay for your transfers. As explained by logfles and everybody that it's the basic thing when you try to send ETH to another address or ERC20 tokens to another person. It's the same with the other networks that I've mentioned, BNB for BSC/BEP20 tokens and TRC for TRC20 tokens.

Think of it as if you're using an online payment transfer and you have to pay for the transfer fee. I guess that's the most simple logic to understand why it requires you to pay for gas(transfer) fees.
830  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Exmarkets scammed me for 2000 usd on: January 21, 2024, 03:26:42 PM
I am sorry about your loss, I think that I heard that exchange years ago but never had any chance to try them since I am mostly sticking to the popular ones because they're likely the ones that won't want to see any stain on their reputation.

I will surely raise a flag and contact CMC for delisting.

If you think you may have been duped, please submit detailed evidence (e.g. transaction id, chat usernames/chat logs) to report@coinmarketcap.com so that we can investigate and help resolve the situation.
831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Signs you should know to take profit from your crypto investment on: January 20, 2024, 09:12:02 PM
Having a target price and goal, that's more than enough for an investor and it's already a win. But for the day traders, there's always the correlation with the chart and movement of Bitcoin and they need to do that because it is their full time job.

I have been in this situation many times at the initial days of investment as well as trading then I started using stop loss once my personal target is achieved. Many might say they will take profit once the target is reached but in reality that's not the case as greed makes them to aim for higher target as a result they end up losing. I think this is a disciplinary step which is must in crypto world and diverting from this will surely result in unexpected results which most of the time is negative.
When someone has already reached his target goal and price and didn't managed to take profit, that's his problem because of greediness. And that's what every investor and trader needs to control upon looking at the filled price that we've been waiting. This time, I am sure that many are still going to be greedy when the bull run comes, they think that these parabolic moves will happen as soon as possible they've seen but it might take time again and years before it happens, so, take the chance and opportunity and take the profits. Not telling that all of it you should but still leave some for the next run.
832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phemedrone Stealer targeting crypto wallets, do not click URL shorteners on: January 20, 2024, 12:49:02 PM
~snip~

Laptop though are getting cheaper, maybe if we can get a second hand and then we do all the thing like formatting and reinstalling everything, if might do good for us in the long run.
If you don't really have a budge to get a brand new one, then that's it if you are in need to own a laptop through second hand. But I'd say that don't settle for it when you're going to use it for your wallets. It's much better that you still save for a brand new.

But this shorteners though, they are now exposed as a big problem because we really don't know the content of the links until it's too late. So it's not wise to just click on them even if the source is someone that we can trust as we don't know if they've been hack or something and then hackers using their account to spread the malware to anyone. So prevention is the key here and obviously we should learn this very tips or revisit threads from time to time, sort of refresher on security.
That's why there are short link checkers and that's what we can do to check on the contents of it or what actually the link is all about. There have been links dropped already on how to check one. I agree that it's still prevention that's better than containing it because you'll never know if someone has dealt with these before or it's gonna be for the first time.

Be aware of links you click on Bitcoin Talk too.  Make sure you hover your mouse over the link and check if it truly leads to the link it should.
I agree, especially if there are topics that are posted by other members that aren't reputable. The tendecy of them posting some unknown links and if you're too curious to check it quickly without checking, you might fall for the trap.
833  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex suffered minor phishing attack on: January 20, 2024, 10:56:22 AM
But when I read the article, I wondered whether it was indeed just luck. It simply mentioned that "the attempt failed because the sender didn't have enough money to carry out the transactions". But what if the sender had that money? Does it mean the attack would have been successful?
To be honest i don't fully understand how the 'partial payments exploit' works, i read the articles on this story but i don't fully understand how an attacker can use it to attack the xrp ledger network. However, i was also curious when i read what you just wrote above, that the sender didn't have enough liquidity to carry out the exploit and that is why it failed, but then again they also said that:
I'm also confused as how it did happened and noting that the hacker was unlucky for that reason. But it seems that there's more to this failed attempt as per the article of Cointelegraph, it also said that the hacker attempted to do it as well with Binance and also failed.
So, IMO, it's not about luck or what not because what happened is that the hacker literally failed with the attempt and these exchanges should give us more of technical on how did it happened but if they don't that's fine. With some description about the attempt, it's like that the hacker after exploiting will do small transfers first for testing and see if it passes through the system of withdrawal. That's the easiest understanding that I've taken from what I've read.
834  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: January 20, 2024, 08:10:39 AM
And yes, this problem has become an issue in many countries, where many young people are forced to work a whole week from morning till night just to earn enough to cover their needs and pay off their mounting debts.
If it's about hard working, I guess that all of us are uniting with it. In every country, there's this the same thing and problem that everyone is dealing with. About the high cost of living even if in the countries that have low cost of living, people there are saying the same thing so there's no escape here unless you're born with silver spoon but they're out of this topic since we're talking about the generation that's believing with even you work hard, you'll get the bare minimum.

This makes them unable to save for the future.
On the brighter side, this is also making them realize that if they are stagnant and does the same routine, no improvement of their lives will happen.

Where on the other hand, business people are increasingly hoarding their money and not giving appropriate salaries to their employees and the government seems to be turning a blind eye to this. It was quite sad to see this condition happen.
This is the reality for some companies and employees. But there's always a labor agency where those employees think that they don't receive the deserve salary that they have. However, whether we like it or not, there's always the exploitation on the employees and you know the pat in the back moments when good job is done.
835  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Knowledge On Bitcoin on: January 20, 2024, 06:41:17 AM
Bitcoin is a legal tender in El Salvador and it became a legal tender as well in the Central African Republic but it has changed later on: CAR to drop crypto as legal tender.
You don't have to memorize all of those things but you can get familiarized with the majority of it. What matters now IMHO is on how you're going to protect yourself from bad actors that are targeting newbies like you and on how you'll be using and downloading Bitcoin wallets. So please be mindful to download only on official sources.
836  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on service-for-asset exchange model. on: January 19, 2024, 11:15:18 PM
This type of bartering is more popular in social media nowadays and more popular with the influencers that have huge following, it's an x deal for which they call it. IMHO, if your company is just starting out and you're targeting companies for having this type of barter, you'll take time until you find a good deal. It's best to start with the small companies that don't have that much but you can use them to be added to your portfolio and from there, you know the drill until you become popular or have built your reputation for which they'll see the worth and value of your offer and service to them for any goods you like them to exchange for your service.

This is sound advice and also the strategy we are currently utilizing.

Setting the table if you will.
Good luck. I'm not good in the actual business but that's my observation. I guess that you'll learn more when you started doing so and you'll meet a lot of fabulous people that will be added to your network. Another one that I have watched is about the power washer guys.
They clean the every side of some random guys house and they do it for free, in exchange, they'll ask for permission to film it and that's their content that will be uploaded to their socials.

838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin changed people (enemy to supporter). Lary Fink (BlackRock CEO) 2017 2024 on: January 19, 2024, 02:59:36 PM
It seems to take more time for Jamie Dimon to do so because he more regularly and aggressively talked about Bitcoin in the past. It's hard for him to change his statement publicly as it is like his public admit on his wrong thinking.
IIRC, he has said something good about Bitcoin and that also caused him to do so because his company launched their own coin. I remember his story several years ago when he talked nonsense about Bitcoin but that can be the sign that he's into it. He doesn't have to change because I think he's already in and just trying to play the emotions of the people that follows him.

Same for Peter Schiff.
His kid is into Bitcoin and I think who's harder to change the heart of is Warren Buffett. He's the typical and traditional investor that don't understand Bitcoin yet or he does but just don't like the attributes of it as an asset.
839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phemedrone Stealer targeting crypto wallets, do not click URL shorteners on: January 18, 2024, 11:43:56 PM
I think MacOS is more accessible to some users here as compare to some Linux flavors. I switch to MacOS way back 2018 and it was a good decision and investment as well. Although there is some challenges in the beginning if you are used to being a Windows users for many years.
I've been using windows for so long and planning to do some upgrades and about to get into MacOS soon. And that's one reason of it, the attacks that have been happening there is rarely heard but that's my scare on how I'll adopt the surface and new theme of it but I'll get there and deal with it once I already own one.  Smiley

For this case, it could be advisable though that we separate things with our cryptos whether pc/laptops for daily used. And have a different machine for lets say for surfing the net and whatever things we like to do except our crypto activities. It might be costly for others, but at least you are safe from this kind of attacks. We always need to think twice being clicking any URL shorteners for sure as a result of this exploits.
Yeah, that's one cons of it that it's going to be costly. So to those that have this problem that they can't have additional or extra devices/laptops/PCs, you'll have to be more careful and start with yourself of getting educated on how you're going to avoid these link attackers, malware, etc. Just don't be a random guy that's too curious in knowing what's the link behind those shortcut URL links and a good suggestion about checking them through shortlink checkers.
840  Economy / Economics / Re: Demand and supply directly and indirectly related. on: January 18, 2024, 10:10:00 PM
Demand and supply can have a direct or indirect relationship, affecting market behaviour and performance.
There's a topic about law of supply and demand, they're always directly related. It is much better if you can give some ideas as to why it is sometimes indirectly related. Because with what I've learned in my school days, they're always together and if they don't. Please explain or give some scenarios on how they become like that.

Understanding this is crucial for organizations seeking to optimize operations and competitiveness. Thorough research and analysis are necessary to gain the insights needed.
Actually, it is not just for organizations. But it's also applicable to individuals when you're doing some sales or simply watching the market out for specific products. We can simply apply with the crypto market where it is directly proportional.
