821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 21, 2021, 10:48:22 AM
The Danish team is determined to win against Russia in their final Euro 2020 Group B match to squeeze into the knockout stage. Though I am not sure how many goals they must make up for, I believe they will make at least two. Clearly, they are a better team than Russia, but we will see if that will be enough today.

Look at the recent performance, rather than going by their strength on paper. Denmark lost to Finland in their first match. And then Finland lost their match to Russia. It indicates that Russia either at the same level, or ahead of Denmark. Also, the absence of Christian Eriksen has considerably weakened the Danish side. They have no points from their first two matches, and Russia at least have one win from their two. In case Denmark is able to beat Russia, then we may find three teams with 3 points each in Group B.
822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many scammers have you funded by putting your money in? on: June 21, 2021, 07:51:49 AM
For new users, it takes a lot of time to get adjusted to the realities of cryptocurrency market. A lot of them are looking for quick profits and they believe that all the social media propaganda is true. And one thing I have noticed about the scam projects is that they advertise themselves really nicely. Blind trust, combined with greed makes sure that the noobs find themselves in a sticky situation later. But the trick is not to repeat the same mistake again. Once you get scammed, take it as a learning opportunity and be more careful.
823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoin Safe for Investment on: June 21, 2021, 07:37:09 AM
Personally,,, this is bad advice to follow. An altcoin could pay 10 exchanges a listing fee for 1 week (and we all know this happens a lot, maybe less these days but it still does). I do agree it is "safer" because it does mean the project has money to pay for listing but I also feel this could trick a lot of people into thinking it is the next big thing and then before you know it,,, listing period ends and you have nowhere to sell but the exchange where the owners list dump pricing buys.

The trustworthy exchanges don't have this system for listing a coin for just 1-2 weeks. If you want to list your project in a major exchange such as Binance or Huobi, then you need to pay the listing fee (which may amount to several million USD). On top of that, there will be very careful screening of the project from these exchanges and if the inspectors flag the project as shady, then they will return the listing fee and refuse to deal with the project. So in 99% of the cases, if a project gets listed in Binance or Huobi, we can be assured that it is a genuine project.

Is that true I have not yet considered, it would be really interesting how it is evaluated, is there an official scenario? I think so, but where can we read how such a scenario is rated? The chances of North Macidonia are very modest, I don't think that the Netherlands will let the butter off their bread, the previous games have been very sovereign.

I would agree that the chances are next to nil. But the odds are looking very attractive. Macedonia is at +1100. If you make a bet of $100 in favor of North Macedonia, then there is a chance to win $1100. Draw is also at +450. I haven't decided yet. But I am thinking about making two bets, one each for a draw and win by Macedonia. If the match ends either in a draw or a win for Macedonia, then I will be in profit. Even if it ends in a draw, then for a bet of $200, I will receive $450 in profit. I don't know.. but I am getting a feeling that Netherlands may not be able to win today's match.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 21, 2021, 07:00:45 AM
Like Italy, the Netherlands will probably take the 3rd victory, with Austria and Ukraine I expect a draw.

LOL.. this will be an interesting scenario. If the match between Austria and Ukraine ends in a draw, then both the teams will have equal points and same goal difference. If that happens, then how the no.2 and no.3 spot will be determined? And at this point I would not discount the chances of North Macedonia against Netherlands. Although the chances are low, North Macedonia has already proven that they are capable of big upsets. Anyway they are out of the tournament. And they will be aiming for a big upset in their last match.

Italy have also taken the lead against Wales, but Switzerland would be hoping for Italy to score at least 2 more goals for them to get a shot at 2nd place, but regardless with 4 points they surely would end up with one of the best third place positions.

Every now and then, I am checking the live points table in Google. According to their table, Wales is at 4 points and goal difference of +1, while Switzerland is also at 4 points, with a goal difference of -1. So two goals separate these two teams. The second half is going to be crucial. It is true that even with a third place, the entry to knockout phase is almost guaranteed. But with the third round not yet over for the other groups, I would not want to take that risk. Wales should not allow Italy to score another goal. BTW, what happens in case the points and goal difference are equal?
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 20, 2021, 04:34:55 PM
Italy is certain to qualify for the round of 16 because after two 3-0 wins over Turkey and Switzerland, and Wales can confirm the status of group runners-up with a draw against Italy.

and Gareth Bale and friends will not be satisfied and will definitely continue to attack Italy to win the ongoing match.
However, Wales' move will not be easy because Italy's position is stronger because they won from Switzerland and Turkey without conceding.

Even if Wales lose today's match against Italy, they can still end up at no.2. But then, it will depend on the Switzerland vs Turkey match. If Switzerland wins by a heavy margin, then they will end up at the no.2 position with 4 points. And there is a chance for that, because after 25 minutes, Switzerland is leading by 1-0 against Turkey. So it will be good for Wales to have a draw against Italy. A win would be even better, but considering the current form of Italy, I have to admit that the chances are near zero.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 20, 2021, 04:21:48 PM
Could anyone have imagined that India would lose all their wickets for just 217 runs? India has one of the best batting lineups in the world. By taking all the wickets for 217 runs, the New Zealand bowlers have shown how efficient they are and how much the pitch is helpful for pace bowlers. From this, it is clear that keeping Jadeja and Ashwin in the squad is the wrong decision of the Indian management.

For me, it was not surprising. Kohli and Rahane are the best test batsmen India have in SENA conditions. Once they got out, it was a collapse. I wasn't expecting much from batsmen like Pant in the middle order and Gill in the top order, because they don't have enough experience in such conditions. On top of that, Kyle Jamieson under favorable conditions is almost unplayable. The Indian batsmen had a relatively easy time, because the foolish New Zealand captain persisted with the gentle medium pace of de Grandhomme and Southee for quite long.
829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 20, 2021, 01:38:24 PM
Not expected, however Indian bowlers won't let New Zealand easily get this total in these conditions. Since it's very clear extreme conditions to bat. It will be extreme for NZ hitters also. Time will say, whether this is a decent and fair score or not?

That is true. The New Zealand openers seems to be struggling against the pace and bounce of Ishant and Bumrah. But let's not forget the fact that some of the New Zealand batsmen (especially Conway and Williamson) are in excellent form right now. Devon Conway averages 89 against pace, and therefore I would say that it won't be a bad idea to bring Ravichandran Ashwin or Ravindra Jadeja early on. India needs a few quick wickets early on. The first innings lead is going to be really crucial in this match. Anyway, the Indian pacers seems to be in very good shape.
830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: June 20, 2021, 01:13:18 PM
If you are playing in a casino for the first time, you are always tempted to continue, the surrounding is created to make you play continuously, they have foods drinks credit line, you can only stop if you do not have money or you are deep in loan, they will only let you go until they have nothing to squeeze out to your pocket and bank account.

Some of the casinos have a rule that you need to spend a minimum amount of money on the games (but that is only applicable if you win a huge amount in your very first game). Other than that, they can't legally hold you back against your will. While visiting a casino, you need to be aware of two things - about your rights, and the policies of the casino. A lot of new gamblers find themselves in a sticky position, when they win a huge jackpot in the first game. The problem here is that they can't take the money and make their exit. As per the conditions, they need to play until a particular turnover limit is reached.
831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be the biggest bubble economy in history? on: June 20, 2021, 01:01:07 PM
Look at the numbers. You will realize that Bitcoin is not that big. The biggest bubble in the economic history is the US Dollar and this bubble is going to burst very soon with all the stimulus measures and big spending plans from the Biden administration. The federal debt of the US itself is around 40 times larger than the market cap of Bitcoin. Now tell me which one is a bigger bubble. Intelligent regimes have started to realize this and that is the reason why the government of El Salvador gave legal tender status to BTC and made it equal with the USD in status.
832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador to revoke Bitcoin as legal tender? on: June 20, 2021, 12:49:23 PM
I was not convinced that El Salvador will adopt Bitcoin until the very last moment.
And now I am not convinced they will will drop it just because IMF said that they won't support that.
IMF indeed lends money to the smaller/poorer countries, but they quite often ask for various things to be done by the governments, things that are usually far from nice/popular, hence it can easily lead to IMF getting turned down by governments. It has happened in the past, it will happen in the future too.

All in all, it make no sense at all overthinking and panicking because of this.

The president (Nayib Bukele) is very adamant about Bitcoin, and he is not going to drop his plan just because the World Bank or the IMF doesn't support the idea. Even if they somehow bully El Salvador to roll back the changes, how long this status quo is going to last? A lot of governments are unhappy with the sharp rise in the US Dollar monetary supply in the recent times, and the reduction in purchasing power that was associated with this. El Salvador is a small country and may be forced to fall in line. But what they will do, in case Saudi Arabia or Japan does the same?
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 20, 2021, 12:37:13 PM
It's not even click bait for speculation, these days they're just taking money from anyone willing to pay their fees. Do a small bit of editing and meet their guidelines. Make many disclaimers and they can even publish scams for all anyone cares (and they probably have loads now that they delete from servers after the scams happen.

BUT this is a different affair and I'm sure it can be backed by reliable sources. Let's wait and see... Cricket is a gentlemen's game and yeah, not glamorous like other sports yet.

At this point, I would say that I will be happy even if it is an 8-team competition. It is a bit harsh on the smaller teams, but the most important thing to remember here is that they will receive funding from their respective governments, if cricket becomes an Olympic sport. If they could participate in the tournament, then it will be even better. But you need to wait for some time. One thing I don't agree with this plan is ICC's suggestion to have just one out of 8 teams from the qualifying tournament. That is very unfair and they need to make it at least 3-4.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: June 20, 2021, 12:25:11 PM
The prize is for some people who really luckiest to win the lottery and yes, their lives will change if they can win on that. But for the other people, hopefully, they can still get something from the government. Maybe that will not in the form of money, but something worth for their life. The lottery can still attract more people to volunteer themselves to get vaccinated.

4th set of winners have been annouced. Suzanne Ward received $1 million, while Sean Horning received the college sponsorship. The fourth week saw a total of 3,428,514 entries for the $1 million prize, and another 150,187 entries from those who are aged 12-17 (they are not allowed to participate in lotteries having cash prizes) for the college sponsorship draw. This was a great move from the governor (Mike DeWine). The lottery not only boosted the vaccination numbers in Ohio, but also created a hype all over the United States and many of the other states announced similar measures, encouraged by the success in Ohio.

Wow! His salary is even higher than that of the coach of the Russian national team ($2.5 million), a country that is also famous for its corruption. What's interesting is that the coach of the Belgian national team which is in the first place in the group receives only $ 1.3 million, and the coach of Finland and Denmark is almost 10 times less.

This is not exactly a direct comparison. The terms and conditions vary for different countries. I don't know about the details, but I guess the Turkish and Russia coaches are supposed to spend more days with the team when compared to their counterparts in other countries. Also, salary is only one part of the package. And in western nations, a large part is given in the form of various allowances and free services, to lessen the tax bill. But still, the $3 million figure sounds a bit on the higher side, especially considering the recent form of the Turkish side.

Anyone please share the Youtube channel or online link where this WTC final is broadcast live  Embarrassed
I hope by now you already know why i am asking for the link  Sad

It is not available in YouTube, unless you want to watch a pirated link. Here in India, the matches are live on Star Sports 1 HD and online streaming is available on Hotstar. I guess in your country also, you can watch the matches live on Hotstar. I don't know about the subscription plans in your country, but here in India the subscription came free along with the 1-year 4G plan of Reliance Jio.

Ravichandran Ashwin just got out to a horrible shot. He seemed to be in a hurry and was going for shots almost every ball. And in the end gave Tim Southee his first wicket in the test. A total of around 250 would be good, and if the tail enders give proper support to Jadeja, then it may be possible to go beyond that mark.
837  Economy / Economics / Re: George Soros and Bezos have paid almost zero taxes on: June 17, 2021, 11:12:10 AM
Why is the tax return hidden? It's hard for me to say, but are we talking about a business that pays taxes or an ultimate beneficiary? I am not familiar with the legislation of a particular state or states, I will say that in our country all data on the tax return of all citizens are legally open. But to be honest - for example, the largest businessmen declare income, but it is not indicative, the value of the assets they own and the turnover (profit, income, costs, taxes, ...) of their companies are more indicative.

There is no point in asking the tax returns of private companies to be made public. But IMO, there is nothing wrong, if we ask the tax returns for the individuals to be revealed to the public. At least they should reveal the annual income and the tax that was paid on this income. I don't want a detailed breakdown of the source of income. At least those who have a net wealth of $1 billion or more should reveal these figures. Ordinary people like us pay 30% or 40% of our salary as taxes. We have the right to know how much these people are paying.
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prices are low, time to buy some good coin!! on: June 17, 2021, 07:52:16 AM
Prices are low for Bitcoin. But for many of the altcoins, they are trading at 10x or 20x the level they had in 2020 December. So if you want to make an investment in Bitcoin, this is a suitable time. On the other hand, I would wait for some more time if I want to make an investment in altcoins such as Binance Coin, Ethereum and Cardano. They are good investment options, but looks a bit overpriced given the acceptance levels. And I would stay away from shitcoins such as Dogecoin like plague.
839  Economy / Economics / Re: Not just money but oil is most important in the World on: June 17, 2021, 07:12:57 AM
This kind of claims is what makes us people stupid and stubborn in trying to change our way of thinking in terms of energy sources, a lot of renewable energy sources are better than oil but people is still thinking like this then the effort to change is futile.

With the current technology, you can't directly replace oil with renewable energy sources. Take the case of automobiles for example. The EVs are not directly running on electricity. On the other hand, they use batteries to store the electricity, and use these batteries to run the motor. And this means additional expenses. The battery used for Tesla EVs cost around $15,000-$20,000 per piece. Therefore the gasoline run vehicles are at least two to three times cheaper than the EVs. If you ban the gasoline run vehicles all of a sudden, then many of the automobile owners will be unable to afford a vehicle.

So the question comes here that what benefit Ronaldo gained from this act ?
He don't need more fame by doing this , because he is already famous. He is not paid for doing this either. The mystery remain there  Roll Eyes

You can never be sure. Coca Cola (and those who held the shares of that company) lost $4 billion in a matter of few hours due to Ronaldo. What if I argue that Pepsi or some of the other competitors bribed Ronaldo to do this drama? The fact that Coca Cola is one of the sponsors was known to everyone for many months. So why this sudden reaction? The prices went up further down yesterday and if some of the shareholders go for legal action against UEFA or Ronaldo, then I would say that they are perfectly justified in doing so.
