8261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO speculation on: January 22, 2018, 08:04:14 AM
Misunderstanding.

NEO is not "China Ethereum". It's Etherum the "Russian NEO"

You see?

NEO is not only for Chinese startups.  It's the platform for developing DApps.

And it's totally 0 fees for both NEO and GAS.

How can Ethereum be the Russian NEO if it existed before Neo did? If NEO is not only for Chinese startups, why is their github only with Chinese comments? How can it be a global platform if global developers cannot make additions comment and suggestions to its coding platform?

zero fees makes it better? You want a service, you pay fees. People will not do things voluntarily for ever if it keeps costing them more and more money.

Anyway, all pointless discussions. Let the platforms do the talking.
8262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum classic just woke up on: January 21, 2018, 08:12:53 PM
These were some of the words thrown around by those oppose the fork, which truthfully felt like almost half the community. As a result the hard fork left many investors, miners, and supporters of Ethereum feeling salty. Ethereum Classic now provides an alternative voice for those who still feel the community made the wrong decision and again remember - that was almost half the community.

Never let it be forgotten that this was the bad thing that ETH did that a lot of us never got past. I was not even around yet but this is why I never invested in ETH, until very recently, and that only for profitability.

I can never bring myself to trust a centralized project because of ETH's history. It makes me think, what if this happened to me when I buy a coin like ETH or invest in an ICO? So sad that they reversed what blockchain was supposed to be!
8263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many coins & tokens have you bought so far ? on: January 21, 2018, 05:24:11 PM
already tens of thousands of dollars I invest for ethereum, not for trading, only long-term investment, rather regret not selling it when $ 1,400. now the price has gone down

Phew, that is a lot of money. I do not even own 5 digit dollar sums, although my very small hundred dollar investments have now reached thousand dollar numbers.

I have bought probably around 20 tokens/alts now. I only own around 10 now, the rest I resold as I only keep coins that I want to have for years. Very tempting to buy more but I fear not being able to manage them.

Including airdrop coins (mostly auto airdrop that just enters my Waves accounts) I have maybe 20 all in all. They are all worthless now though.
8264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 predictions for Digital Currencies in 2018 on: January 21, 2018, 02:00:25 PM
Especially the first point

1. More institutions will get into cryptocurrencies.

should be considered as a good thing.

This way more funds come in and also the user cases of the coins will grow!

 2. There will be more regulation and bitcoin’s price will drop.

That is something which we can feel at the moment already.

The trend has already started a while ago but yes, last year was when we truly saw them start to eye crypto markets seriously. This year we will see at least three times as much interest and those who had their appetites increased from last year's boom will be investing even more money this year. And I feel the money will only grow until next year. if not all the way until 2020.

Regulations will not make BTC price drop, it will make it even more in demand by the few still able to sell and cash it out.
8265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best Social Media for promoting an ICO ? on: January 21, 2018, 12:24:06 PM
Without taking into account anything else, the best medium for promoting ICOs is still this forum, bitcointalk. You just see the difference you get when posting ANNs here and anywhere else, the response you get.

Any social media can be a good platform, but everything is reliant on the quality of your audience. If you have 10k followers on twitter, but they are all bots and no one interested in crypto, useless. But if you have only 100 followers on let us say Medium, but all are ready to listen to your ICO reccomendation,,, you get higher results.
8266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regret! on: January 21, 2018, 11:12:52 AM
Does anyone else regret that hasn't invested in certain Altcoins that now rose 400-800%? Because I regret it a lot. :|

I regret that I bought some altcoins when they rose above 800% in the beginning))
Hopefully everyone learn such lessons and don't FOMO dive.

I also regret I sold some coins before they started mooning program.

This is the most natural feeling in the world for us in the trading and speculating business. I was so happy when Litecoin reached $300, but at the time I could remember feeling regret I did not get it at $5 (I got them at $50). Six times profit should have made me happy, but I could not fully enjoy it. And now LTC is below $200, I "regret" not selling at $300 and buying back now, I would have gotten 50% more LTC now.

But what is important is to remember these were long term hodls. Price today yesterday and tomorrow should not matter. Price years from now is the only thing.
8267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Supercomputers Golem vs. SONM vs. IEXEC - Who will win the race? on: January 20, 2018, 07:18:43 PM
The table above was copied from SONM website so the comparison is skewed towards SONM, there are other projects like Elastic and Dadi that is entering the space, I think Bluzelle to is doing something similar to this, can say this project will win but by now I expect them to be reaching operation state

Funny to mention Elastic AND Dadi, Elastic is already entered for a while, while DADI came out and tried to claim all sorts of things. I know people always say Elastic is nowhere in the same category as Golem and SONM, and I actually agree, but for me it is a good thing.

Yes, I have to feel this way, because I bought a LOT of XEL more than 6 months ago, and am still suffering for its price, but they are a very different breed, especially when you consider SONM's ICO funds versus XEL's no ICO model.
8268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE is starting to climb!!! on: January 20, 2018, 03:11:51 PM
In terms of growth potential, it can be evem better than tron but it has nothing but a community which will support this growth. It is already very high now.

growth ?
as far as i know, that project had been abandoned by the dev a while ago.
so who will develop it and 'grow' it ?
at best it will be like this and nothing more than that.
it's just another pump and dump coin.

Doge coin is an old coin that does not pump too much recently, I think it will pump much later since more and more investors will know that this project is reliable.

reliable ?
what does that mean by that ?
this coin had been pumped multiple times before if i remember it correctly,
and back to its price afterward.
nothing more than that.

Not exactly abandoned development, but neglected. Original developer abandoned it yes but at least two developers are always associated. They did announce last year that they were going to return to development work and focus more on Dogecoin. As you know Doge is anyway already supporting certain other networks through helping to secure it. You can Google the dogecoin developers, I do not have their names, but they did say they are definitely doing something.

Reliable, because it has not dropped below fiat value much after climbing. And each climb results in more stable, higher medium price. Look at its history and it at least performs better than a lot of others AND has merchants.
8269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MONERO in 5 years on: January 20, 2018, 01:49:41 PM
in my eyes...monero is the most adapted and liked privacy coin and it will grow in the next time.

but after all...its not guaranteeing real privacy (it was tracked already multiple times by the CIA etc.)
So even now it is still the most adopted one...sooner or later a real total private coin might take its place. with a finished and untraceable tech.

Are you serious? When was Monero tracked by the CIA? Stop making shit up.

Even if it WAS tracked, does not mean anything. If a dark market is shut down because of their Monero use, then sure, we will all have concerns, but this will not happen when the big fish were caught with Bitcoin, and now it will be those using ETH that will be on the radar next. Monero users are registering such light volume, partly because it is hidden, that the big enforcement guys do not know where to begin.

A "real total private coin" is nonsense. They are all real, and Monero is the "most real" because we are all using it. Other anon coins are hodl.
8270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRON SCAM: TRUTH OR FUD...WHAT'S YOUR TAKE? on: January 20, 2018, 09:48:50 AM
A few points. The first, I do not know if TRON is good or not. It just sounds like a lot of hype to me at the moment but,,, second point, development roadmap does look more realistic than other projects, meaning years instead of months, which is good on the surface but,,, third point, if the developer really sold all that TRON to make money, then so what? That is the way the world of ICOs and crypto works. You think developers for new projects are nice guys? They came here to make money and they did. It is our fault for making it easy for all of them.
8271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Here we go, institutional money is on the way! on: January 20, 2018, 08:47:38 AM
The start of institutional investor money actually happened early last year, and is especially one reason Bitcoin along with other cryptocurrency started the rise around that time. The new money inflowing was not obvious, but I read a few articles that said a lot of these investors suddenly began selling off or liquidating SOME of their long-term assets, this was noticed all over big funds in the world. It was not so big to create panic among them, but it surely speculated exactly what this article said: long termed hodl position.

But yes, maybe this year will be more, and then it will peak in 2019.
8272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I lost 80% of my bitcoins in alts, What can I do now?! on: January 19, 2018, 07:47:17 PM
What did you do? As your post was 4 months ago. Did you sell it or hold it?

Now the market is recovering from another situation like you describe... and I've experienced the same thing... I just hold, nothing else.

He seems active but I checked and he has not really posted much since December, talking about other coins. It is a coincidence that I also bought Sia and Digibyte around the same time (but not his third pick). I am surprised to learn he lost 80 % though, at my very worst I was down to 65 almost 70% true, but the last few weeks have made profit so I sold exactly all the coins I needed to regain invested Bitcoin and still have some small holdings of SIA and DGB.

So it was a phew moment for me, but man, it is not easy.
8273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KFC releases Bitcoin Bucket on: January 19, 2018, 01:52:50 PM
Cute advertisement for KFC, who at least admit they do not really understand what Bitcoin is!

But there is a big difference between accepting Bitcoin to their own wallet, and accepting Bitcoin through a payment processor who will give them fiat values. I guess it will always be the second option for most of these big merchants.

Is anyone from Canada who wants to try it and let us know? And what about the Russian Burger King token on WAVES?
8274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO says that he will look into adding crypto to FB on: January 19, 2018, 01:17:43 PM
Strange how I missed this news. I was pretty sure I looked up social media sites accepting crypto a week ago but none of this turned up. I thought Zuckerberg was pretty much against crypto. Now that with the Russian scandal still yet to be resolved, how will he be able to go yet another way to accept money for advertising when already it seems difficult to track the ones who bought it at the last election campaign.

Not sure exactly how people will want to use it on FB though. FB networks are not very crypto targeted.
8275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Davor will have the same fate as Bitconnect on: January 19, 2018, 08:05:23 AM
OK, so pay attention to the obvious shill attempt. One random question out of nowhere, replied immediately by some other random poster. Davor, if your lending idea and platform are truly solid, you will not even mention Bitconnect in the same sentence. They are a proven ponzi, maybe point that out. Look at the history of lending projects and see how many have closed down, bankrupt and unable to pay, and this was WITHOUT the referral and fixed income schemes of Bitconnect.

Be careful all you guys. No such thing as guaranteed profit, not even in crypto.
8276  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinRush.io - Bitcoin Sportsbook, and Casino (Lower Minimum Wager Amounts) on: January 18, 2018, 03:22:59 PM
Thank you very much! I saw that my deposit balance has been restored to normal. But is it safe for me to try play the games again? Or perhaps I would like to bet on a sports bet, will this be okay for my account now? I have one comment on the sportsbook, it looks nice and good odds but the only problem is it takes a long time to load, so when I click on wager, it keeps asking me to reload. I do not want to have to trouble you again if something goes wrong. Do you know what happened the first time? I just want to be safe before I proceed.

You already had a shitty experience with this beta casino, yet you still want to play here?    Are you insane?

I did not have a shitty experience. Mistakes and bugs happen everywhere trust me. They fixed it for me so quickly, and I like playing at new casinos. Support answers and fixes my issue, this is what I call a good experience. I saw your complaint and I have to say it was also dealt with quickly. It is normal for casinos to manual withdraw, so what is the issue there? I really do not like people attacking me with new accounts also, if you want us to take you seriously, stick to your own forum account.
8277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spectre-World's first brokerless trading platform on: January 18, 2018, 02:15:31 PM
Hmm,,, does brokerless simply mean there is no third party or intermediary? If so, then this is just the idea of decentralized exchanges where everything is done from trader to trader. Then if so, this idea is nowhere new and Spectre is not the world's first. I am already using one such DEX, which is called Waves. We also have EtherDelta very popular now, and this year the long awaited NVO DEX.

DEX is indeed the future, so Polo and Bittrex and friends can kiss goodbye to their customers.
8278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you optimistic about Ripple? on: January 18, 2018, 11:27:46 AM
I am thinking to invest in Ripple, and i think it is good choice when you have no much money, what  do you think?
Theres a lot of coin that has potential but XRP isnt a good investment for me,its a centralized shitcoin by the bankers they are manipulating the price so if you want to be safe stay away from it.

I stayed away from coins like ETH for precisely the exact reasons. I will say this now: I am not holding ETH but happy to have a bit finally and enjoying profits. To me, alts like NEO and Ripple are exactly the same. I think they will last for a great number of years, but their prices may enjoy early growth and big profits, but they will never reach the highs of Bitcoin.

So yes, good buys for speculators and traders. But I can never see these corporate centralized coins as long term holds. ETH maybe, but only because compared to these new alts, ETH looks decentralized.
8279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What if we were all wrong on: January 18, 2018, 10:29:04 AM
Hello people,

First of all... yes i hold btc and altcoins Smiley i believe in blockchain and so on... anyway

But what if, when this "correction" is not a correction..
Rather the beginning of the end of the cryptomarket, as we know it...

I missed the chance to sell at the high, but never thought, that the market is falling so fast and so strong...
at the moment, we cannot say where the bottom is... almost no moves up..
just crazy... so much money goes away from the market..

Those who truly believe in blockchain are not concerned so much with price. So that makes you only a half believer (since you have doubts if this is the correction or the end of crypto). Proof is in people like Antonoupoulos who his whole life believed in blockchain but never accumulated any of it.

Blockchain is already here to stay, whether or not Bitcoin is $1 or $1 million. I think this is a good time for a lot of us to reflect on our time with crypto. Are we going to make this all about money or are we also going to make sure we learn something good from this and participate in the changes that blockchain is making in our world?
8280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: People paying $1200 for 1 Ethereum are crazy... You only get rich buying CHEAP on: January 18, 2018, 09:49:09 AM
So I made x30 with Verge and Tron. Also made x20 with some other coins. I like to buy cheap and sell for a great price and I made a little fortune in only a few months.

Now I look at ETH. Its very high. Why people would buy it now? Before you ever make a dollar all the people that bought ETH for $5, $10 or even $0.25 will cash out their thousands of ETH. Its a classic pyramid scheme.

Is there any alternatives to ETH that are still cheap today? I really like Metaverse and its very, very cheap. They just hired more programmers too and are stepping up their game, so it might get really big. Is there any others than Metaverse that could be the next Neo or ETH?

Neo is not that bad at $150 even because I think it might grow as huge as ETH is now, so meaning it would get maybe to $1000. Thats not a huge profit if it works out, its *8. But its better than buying ETH at least.

Anyway.

Any good alternatives to NEO and ETH that are still cheap like Metaverse (its at 100m market cap)?

Can be from china or japan or any other country... THANKS!

People asked the same questions when they were faced in 2017 with Bitcoin above $1000. Every step it took afterwards, people kept asking if it was too late. I can remember when it was $7000, people were calling buyers "stupid". But right now, even after a huge crash, it is unable to go below 10,000. Are all these people stupid now? No. What about those who bought at 15k and up? Are they stupid? No. We cannot tell yet. It has been nor even a month to give time to this crypto volatility.

Buying NEO at $150 or buying ETH at $1000 cannot be called smart or stupid. This is trading, this is speculating. No one can predict what will happen. Based on your theory, it is a hundred times better to buy DOGE.
