Paypal is an extremely high risk transaction, no real exchange will ever accept it. Remember bitcoin can't be charged back, paypal can, at anytime.

Agree with me on this or not, I don't care but I would like some more ideas from others on how we can get things moving in the right direction again.

Yes I agree that maybe bitcoin mining for pyra is getting too difficult but that is business, you have to keep the profits up.

But removing profits from other users is not the answer.

Tell wall street to return you money when you make a bad trade, tell the supermarket to reimburse you for your milk when the prices go down... I made money get over it, I did the research and figured out an optimal deposit amount, why should I not profit?

I just signed up to a site, and made money, what does that have to do with being nice or anything?
The way he's going, I'm half-expecting him to start ranting about social justice and redistribution and spreading the wealth and frothing at the mouth while he does it.

Some people just aren't strong enough to cope with capitalism and risk... in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he started shouting about switching to PPS too, cuz variance makes him twitchy...

Because I agreed to a TOS and now that I happened to make money due to the fact I understand bitcoin and how mining actually works, I should be punished and that is self serving? Care to explain?

I guess you are the same person that would ask an exchange to give back your bitcoins after a bad trade, guess what this is life, welcome to it. I am a whale and you are guppy and I just shallowed you whole. Deal with it!

I hate 12yrs that don't understand anything about how the world works, your mommy can't save you.
Your opinion is worthless (along with your spelling and grammar).
His opinion is 100% right on the money... and your response resorting to insults and petty nitpicking, instantly forfeits your own position as without merit or substance.

=squeak=

Trolls will troll... just ignore him, he clearly knows I am right hence why he has to insult.

I am still making money off pyraming Tongue
Hopefully not for long Smiley
Keep dreaming... that is never going to happen...

Looks,  it's no surprise that those in profit don't want to see this happen, of course they don't, I get that.   That said, it's clear that the current system isn't working at all, and we need to start getting creative.   The majority of people here are never ever going to even get close to breaking even, let alone a profit.  It just seems the nice thing to do for those who are way ahead to step back a bit, but that's obviously naive of me.

Who did get back his inital investment with this?

There are actually 3755 deposits "completed" (it means they received the deposited amount + bonus), on ~11000 total deposits.

Pyra, how about pausing any accounts that are currently in profit (anything over their initial investment) so the rest of us have a chance.

What? This makes no sense... people in profit need to be punished for the laws of bitcoin...

It makes perfect sense if you're not a greedy, self serving shit.

So your all for the socialized aspect of this endeavour when it helps you? But when its time for someone else to profit just a little its a giant hell no?
You remind me of the politicians who say we need to get rid of medicare/medicaid/etc, then they take advantage of it for their parents or themselves even though they are already millionaires who can afford healthcare.

No I am all for keeping the terms, that I signed up and agreed to on the site. You guys are the politicians something isn't going your way, you want to bend the rules and make it work for you.

Thats a giant load of BULLSHIT and you know it. I am a round 1 asic investor and am nowhere seeing a profit, while those that were in at the beginning with fpga have seen plenty of profit and then some. The early investors got bonused with 2 rounds of asic while those of us in round 1 have seen very little. You don't want your money faucet turned off even if for just a short while so that others who weren't fpga investors or don't have a ton of referrals can see some of their money back.

I too would have been fine with him leaving things as they were, extrapolating out we would have seen our individual hashrate begin to grow as deposits/accounts were cleared out. BUT he made this change so here we are. The whole point of the design of pyramining seems to be to share the earnings with the group rather than an everyman for himself setup. But here you are arguing against the share the wealth when it doesn't suit you, but I would bet if the shoe was on the other foot you would be requesting exactly what we are, either split the extra hashrate with 100+ deposits, everyone, OR pause the older deposits that have seen a major fiat return. Considering that deposits got smaller as btc rose, it won't take as long to clear out the deposits that haven't profited at all and then your cashflow can be turned back on.

Who did get back his inital investment with this?

I did, and no I will not disclose the amount.

Then what is your malfunction. If you received at a minimum 100% return and you deposited when btc was sub 100$ you made at a minimum a 600% fiat based ROI, and you still have the remaining 10% along with anything left from referrals. Act like an actual human and let those of us that have only received 1% or so of our deposits see some return.

Mommy can't save you, welcome to life, cause I was invest the second day this was open then I should be punished. Yeah ok... Let me also give back all my bitcoin profits to everyone in fiat.

Greed is good!

The real truth is greed hurts any market. Look at the banks... bitcoin can become that if greed isn't countered.
But how can we stop the human instinct of greed? Is greed the biggest long term threat for bitcoin?

Give greedy people lobotomies? How do you stop human you don't. Yes greed is biggest long term threat to anything that has value.

Little update: First of all I apologize for the long silence, I am still working on this project and I am building a plan for next generation miners. However before investing heavily on this, I am monitoring the rate of difficulty increase. If the rise keeps being so steep, it's not worth it to work so much in building the mining equipment and barely get the investment back (considering fiat value, things are worse for BTC). I am also working on other features to revive everything. I'll post updates as soon as there will be something new implemented or a decision about new hardware is made (with specs).

I read that someone is not able to "sell" the account. Please send me a PM with all details and I will check what's wrong.

Some of us, don't have ye little faith in you Wink Remember those people that always believed that you will always come thru.

Can we get any stats? Can we get a revenue of one month? How many uniques? How many users? No one will give you $5K without those most basic information.

Yes let's give the guy who is against what Bitcoins is, money. We need to turn our backs on him and don't forget he wanted to redlist/blacklist coins. He will never be a core developer in my mind, he will always be an enemy of bitcoin! If you give money to him you will also be an enemy of bitcoin!

How can you not have enough time or money to work on creating a native iOS app? This is the defining point in your company's history, and the entire reason SeedCoin gave you ~300BTC a few months ago.

You're betraying your users and investors by failing to meet the market's expectations.

Hi there,

First of all, we received 150 BTC from Seedcoin, most of which was delivered long before Apple made their apparent "reversal" (which is still unclear as far as I'm concerned).

Second of all, you can fuck right off with that attitude. We are doing our best to make quality software for everyone. 100+ years of propaganda has blurred the line with respect to reasonable investor etiquette, but being rude doesn't fly with us. If you don't agree with some of our decisions, maybe try a more constructive approach. We are as open as it is possible to be.

First off 150 BTC for a nice looking wallet... I will say that you are very overvalued like so many bitcoin companies, and seedcoin is people that know nothing about investing in companies investing in a fund, to help startups. Now you see the problem with this right here.

Second and more importantly, I would never want to work with hive if you can't answer a person's question like a human. He asked a simple question, how do you see iOS fitting into you into your roadmap/ why are you completely ignoring that position?

Being in business is sometimes being the coolest head in the room, but when the leader starts jumping off the gun like that, then I would say the leader is not fit to lead a company. This is only going to get harder, and not easier. I have had to deal with investors that come at very hostile. They given you their money and they want to see it grow, and sometimes they think they know best. You need to as the leader of the company listen to them out, and calmly defuse the situation and explain why your path is correct one.

While I agree with the general content of what you're saying wendell, your response is unprofessional to the point that I doubt you work for Hive.

Can someone confirm/deny wendell's association with Hive? Without a response I will assume he/she does work for Hive (which would be disappointing) and stay away from a company that would behave this way in public (even when someone deserves it).

Owner of Hive.

Yes walletnotify should NEVER be the only way to accept payments, I use it so I can run a cronjob every 5mins and still make it snappy. It basically tells my java application that a payment could be on it's way and to track this one.

So what do you use?

listreceivedbyaddress dumps the entire list of transactions ever received, so you can't really use that except maybe once at startup.
-walletnotify is unreliable, in that it can tell you about the same transaction twice, and tells you about unconfirmed transactions

So what's left?

I like 'listaccounts' and am sad it is going away.

Well it is going away for good reason, hopefully or maybe a couple people (I know I would throw in a couple bucks) for a true enterprise account system to be built not into bitcoind, but on top of it, kinda like bitcoin-cli. This would great for things and would support ACID. Right now the bitcoind accounts technically are not reliable by those standards.

For the non-technical people ACID is the standard by which all database management systems are consider reliable.
