8421  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] | 🔥 Coinpayments.net Signature Campaign 🔥 | on: December 14, 2017, 08:57:18 PM
Lauda, I feel that since joining this campaign, I have had one of the smoothest experiences in my short time at bitcointalk. We are always informed, you have been updating ahead of schedule, and we never need to wonder what goes on.

I think we all need to remember that promoting and carrying a signature that pays us is a privilege, not a right. It is enough that we deliver a service and get remuneration as on terms agreed, but it is a bonus that we even can have input, and that it is considered.

All changes fully supported for now and for future, we appreciate very much for openness.

8422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in cryptocurrency and ICOs? on: December 14, 2017, 08:29:16 PM
Cryptocurrencies yes they are worth it given you do your homework. ICO they can be worth it too but I find the amount of homework you gotta do outweighs the benefits. Therefore I would stick to investing in proven cryptocurrencies or ones that seem like they are legit. ICO is pure gambling because you don't know if they will come to market or follow through on their promises at all.

This is sound advice. The problem with ICOs now is that it is very, very difficult to tell its potential just from doing research. Ratings are mainly incentivized. Posts and reviews are mainly from bounty hunters. News and articles are mainly paid marketing. Advisors and main backers are also paid in advance to lend their name to the ICO, or if they are not paid, they will stand to gain from the exposure. So you cannot find objective information, and they are anyway very tough to verify on your own.

Just stick to investing in tokens or crypto that are already launched. Even so, it is a gamble even with all the research you can do.
8423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin's future on: December 14, 2017, 05:59:28 PM
But this value is expected growth in the litecoin chart but it took llongvte and shows sudden big bump fr the past two or three days alone. Keep on invest the litecoin will be perfect options for the altcoin investors.
Actually you are turns tocright decision please go to invest on litecoin your investment will be returns to you in a 3 months of time
Because you may find the certain bump in upcoming months too.

I am a huge Litecoin supporter, always have been but I have to take the side of Charlie Lee on this. The value now is *not* expected. Yes, $150 was a target but it was one for NEXT year, not 2017. Now $200 and $300 has been reached, it has to correct because it has not even found the time to look for a floor. I guess now Litecoin will be very popular so the price will not stabilize for a while, but this does not mean we should forget how this was one coin with stability. And now suddenly volatile like Bitcoin. Time will tell, but I fear 2018 will never push higher than current ATH with speculators now entering the LTC game.
8424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling top at $16500 on: December 14, 2017, 01:30:06 PM
Sorry for belated opinion, looks like you came close to predicting the top, but Bitcoin does have a habit of doing that to people, yes? I find it very interesting to see that your "floor" is set so high, though not reaching even $4,000. When you consider how far Bitcoin has crashed before, I would not put it beyond BTC to drop even to $2k floors is anything serious were to threaten it simultaneously.

This week we had futures, and then South Korea, but still Bitcoin looks steady. I wonder what it would take for this to crash?
8425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have 250 ETH, Hold or SELL? on: December 14, 2017, 09:27:03 AM
If you can hold it. Hold it as long as you can. Because ethereum have high potential in the future. It can be one of the most high valued crypto in the future.

Indeed. People just need to have faith. Just look at Dash and see how very patient people have been through before they made huge profits.

Yeah, I think the same principle that applied to Bitcoin should also apply to any crypto. If you bought it because you have faith in it, then just be patient and wait. Months, years, until you lose faith or you want to liquidate.

I was not lucky enough to enter the market early, but I hold now several alts that I have faith in, some I will only wait to liquidate if they enter a suitable price frame. For me, this is definitely Waves and Litecoin that I have high hopes for, and Litecoin has already shown me some rewards!

Not all crypto people are speculators. Some actually believe in the idea.
8426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash mooning right now! on: December 14, 2017, 08:25:41 AM
No I do not believe you and I do not need to check all the markets. How can it be mooning when it still has not reached even 15% of Bitcoin's price (a target it already, very briefly, passed a few weeks ago)? Even with Bitcoin losing a bit of ground, Bitcoin Cash is still struggling to pump past that mark. And now not only does it have Ethereum to compete with, even humble Litecoin is showing its muscles finally.

$3000 is a pipe dream. Wait for next year first, show some use and some adoption, and then we can talk about $3k.
8427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best ICO in Dec? on: December 13, 2017, 05:10:54 PM
If you are looking for a x10 ICO, do not bother. None of the December ones will achieve that so quickly, if ever. You are better off gambling with your crypto, I feel.

Personally, best ICO right now is Sirin Labs, they have a really cool phone coming up next year and I guarantee people will be buying it. I was thinking to enter the presale, but then when Leo Messi came in as their ambassador, I suddenly felt the hype got too big and too much. I know it does not make sense, but now it might have a LOT of money, and the phone even if it does well may not return us investors the same profits we might otherwise expect.

Still, a good project with existing product already. Blockchain phone!
8428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Group Confidential (debate thread + premium leaks + access) on: December 13, 2017, 02:37:52 PM
This is not the first time someone is talking big about this PBG Confidential. Think about it guys, if these promoters are really making a lot of money from the tips and predictions of PBG, why would they want to share it with you? So many red flags when it comes to promoting referral links at 50% off - of course they can do this because you will earn much more for them.

PBG is a terrible group, with typos on their so-called professional site and who continue to SPAM my email almost every day with bogus offers. Check out their FB following and comments, also full of spammers and shillers.

Do not waste your money here. There is far more valuable insight on the forum than on spending 0.1 BTC on this "confidential" information.
8429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OMG what happend with Litecoin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: December 13, 2017, 11:55:59 AM
Still having a heady day from yesterday when $300 was broken. Am still smiling that I had hopes for my small amount of Litecoins, and it is already giving me a lot of joy, in just a year. I am so glad I waited!

Ok, so we are all seeing the reasons, yes it does not look like a pump. All the volume is coming from America and Europe. Looks like for once they made a strong move and see where it took the coin! But I think it has less to do with all the Litecoin characteristics everyone knew about. It is more to do with the marketing LTC is finally doing after keeping quiet all these years.
8430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 13, 2017, 09:47:26 AM
Dollar cost averaging saves a lot of work and reduces risk.  Of course you will always be sad because you didn't shift your whole position into the fastest-rising crypto of the moment, at millisecond granularity, with zero slippage and fees, for a compounding gain of about 200% per diem, so maybe just give up  now and get it over with.

There is a lot of rabid extremism about.  And, I suppose, I resemble that remark.

Not a lot of people here would be as candidly open as you about themselves. I think almost everyone on this forum has some level of arrogance, minus the shills and bounty hunters. It seems profits in dollar can never make people happy in crypto, they just want to be whales in crypto, giving up good positions for the promise of compounding gains.

Monero have a nice future imo since its probably the only real privacy coin out there and not those zero protocol coins. They even brought on board dev who used to work in bitcore to work on anonymity part and now you can see the results of that move ;DYeah monero is probably mostly used for dark web afairs and for moving hacked funds but that doesnt change the fact that monero is a great coin and that we will probably see it going over 600$

Also astute. Developers are actually hard to come by. Good ones, that is. The mass majority of alt projects actually do not have competent devs, and it really shows when half-baked upgrades run into trouble. Monero has solid architecture and a recognized niche.
8431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy Siacoin? on: December 12, 2017, 11:40:50 AM
Well first off it will obviously help diversify your portfolio, which is priceless. Right now you only have a position in bitcoin which really is risky in this day and age where bitcoin is super duper volatile on a daily basis(sometimes more volatile than altcoins).

Secondly, it's coming off a huge rally and now is settling under 50 satoshis.

This is the time you want to buy, instead of buying when the run up was happening. Right now, it's in the accumulation/smart money phase for siacoin in my opinion. It's got a pretty good team behind it, why not stack up some while it's cheap.

I have to agree with you on this, and not purely because I was an idiot who bought at 120 satoshis, thinking the price had floored. Even at 50 satoshis, should it even go lower to 25, you then stand a far easier climb back up to 50. Yes, the market supply increased, yes miners are dumping because they are co-mining especially with Monero and Ethereum, but Sia is one of the hedge alts. It did rally too soon, and dumped as well, while demand for the storage service has not even come in yet. You can hold significantly long without too much risk of losing it all.
8432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [SERVICE OFFERED] Staking Pool for XGOX, HOLD, AERM, JOY, MUT, FOR, VULC, WOMEN on: December 12, 2017, 10:49:14 AM
Nice service you have got there, I have been toying around with the idea of staking pools ever since I left PosWallet (similar service, trusted and with an inbuilt exchange that worked for a very long time). They simply announced delisting, and as I wanted to avoid high fees on withdrawals, I liquidated everything I owned there to POSW, which, well, is hardly worth much now.

Risk to stake on your own, in my experience, buy a lot of coins and see their value drop, and always issues with network and of course electricity to leave everything open while it crashes as you sleep. Risk with staking pool, they run off with your coins.

Let us see if you have this pool still up after 6 months, then you have a reputation!
8433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have $25k to dump it all on one or two ALT-Coins on: December 12, 2017, 08:31:18 AM
25k is a lot of money! I would prefer to put an even $5k in five alt coins, with 2 of them solid ones like Litecoin and Ethereum, while 3 in relatively stable but promising coins with a lot of room to grow into. For me the long term targets of LTC and ETH are $1,000 but that will only represent 5x and 2x value gains over today's rates. I would add a third of GBYTE (byteball) which has finally stabilised above $200 and can only go up, plus it will be the unique DAG coin of the bunch.

So if you feel ready to wait long, aim for a coin between 1 to 10 dollars, for a rise to $100. Realistically, for me this is Waves and Stratis, both are platform coins.
8434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MINING PROFITABILITY on: December 12, 2017, 06:50:35 AM
I used to think that miners really do share accurate info on mining so that everyone is able to move efficiently, but now I realize after reading up more recently, I feel that miners do not really give very accurate info. As in, they do not disclose the full amount they earn. Funny thing is that even difficulty charts are different when I thought everything was transparent it seems not. I guess the mining community changed from the early years, and it is only sensible. Why share the profitable coins when you can benefit longer if no one else is doing your set up right?
8435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recommended gas price for fast ETH transactions? on: December 11, 2017, 08:07:56 PM
Gas site above is a good recommendation, but to be honest, I have always just used the recommended fee within MyEtherWallet, fired and went. Now I have not really checked how long it takes, but very sure it never takes more than a few hours, even with the network supposedly congested. To be fair, I think I am still mentally always in a state of Bitcoin confirmation, so even 12 hours or more does not feel like a long time to me! Come to think of it, apart from Bitcoin, I never spend any time calculating fees for other alts. They have always confirmed for me quickly.
8436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES mega bullish! on: December 11, 2017, 04:53:18 PM
seems i was right, everyone who bought on op day is up 3x
also alot of great news coming along, the new ui dex and ng protocol will be released this month

and ofc this:

http://bettertokens.org/

Ah, finally, the update I have been waiting for. And not because I think the current ui is bad, in fact to me it is already one of the best around IF not the very best. It will be very interesting to see exactly how it will improve, because to be honest I cannot really think of improvements to a UI that is already fast, cheap, quick and beautiful.

But yes, I really, really hope the DEX can attract more traders. If that finally comes to fruition, we will see such a spurt of growth. But Waves at $10 is already wonderful,,, just wish I did not buy at 90000+ satoshis!
8437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin will kill alt coins on: December 11, 2017, 03:09:47 PM
Strange thing to say really, at a time when so many alts have reached new heights this year, and even these few days. I am holding Litecoin, which has never been so high, beyond all my expectations.

And Bitcoin has given birth to at least two new altcoins this year alone, remember Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold? Would they be around if not for Bitcoin? Short and simple answer is no.

Let us stop for a moment to think about where we are thanks to Bitcoin.
8438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CND HITS BINANCE!!!!!!! yeahhhhhhh up 60% on: December 11, 2017, 10:08:44 AM
My thought that the binance exchange site gives nothing to the cindicator how the majority of the investors are still lost a lot of money in the bitcoin rule. As you can see from the coinmarketcap's history about the CND token if the bitcoin price was around 350 satoshi and this time it's only worth 170 satoshi.
That means 50% drop for the ico participants. I've a little lost in cindicator since ico.

I doubt that a listing on an exchange can really do much for a coin these days. We all know that all it takes is an upfront payment from the devs to get it listed. Furthermore, this is Binance, not exactly the "global" reputation of Poloniex or Bittrex, or not even the heavy volume platform like Bithumb is in South Korea.

And yes, thank you for pointing out that it is half the price of ICO listing. People need to see that in the majority of ICOs, you are buying with Bitcoin, or ETH, not in fiat. If you kept your BTC instead, you could buy twice the tokens of most ICO alts, AFTER the ICO.
8439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC price 100 USD? on: December 10, 2017, 08:33:38 PM
Okay, I am having a very good day today. Was it just not a few days ago someone was talking about $150 here when Litecoin has just finished breaking $100 and dipped down below $99? I was saying, oh come on, let us be realistic, I love Litecoin and have high hopes but we should first look to stabilize above $100.

Then today I log in and see it at $150. This is my first coin ever I have made 3x profit. I am still holding of course, but am just so happy to have one successful coin in my portfolio!
8440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: December 10, 2017, 06:45:06 PM
Hey, there, happy to see a little small news from the sonm team (regarding the appearance at Santa Clara). I invested in one cryptocurrency related to supercomputing power a few months back, which I will not mention because of my heartache from the crazy drops in price (you can check my history to see which coin this is :p).

Anyway, just want to say I have also reevaluated my stance on its competitor, which is SONM. I know the ICO stats and post performance was why I chose not to enter, but actually now it does seem like a ripe time to enter. January 2018 I am making new introductions to my portfolio, and I believe already this to be one of them. Good luck!
